CMAT is a national-level computer-based entrance test. The exam is conducted by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). CMAT is conducted two times in a year. According to AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) notification, “The candidates will be given two opportunities to appear in CMAT; first in September, 2014 and second in February, 2015. The better of two scores will be used for admission for 201516.”

This year, the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) will be held in a five-day test window – from September 25 to 29. The last date to register for the exam is August 25, 2014.
Eligibility criteria The following candidates can apply for CMAT: • Graduates in any discipline, • Final year students of graduate courses (10+2+3), whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for 2015

Admission Process
Application procedure
AICTE will provide the detailed merit list to the respective State Governments for allotting seats to the students through central counseling or otherwise as per their notified admission procedure. In case there is no central counselling, scores awarded will be used for admission in the AICTE approved Institutes/University departments.
The registration for CMAT first test in September starts on July 3, 2014. The last date to register is August 25, 2014. To apply, candidates need to log in here. Candidates need to select dates and three cities (test venues) for online examination in the order of preference. Candidates will then be allotted dates and test centres on “first come first served” basis. Actual allotment, however, will be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city. Each day will have two exam slots: 9.30 am 12.30 pm & 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm.

“Test Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances,” informed the official notification.
Mode of Payment Candidates can apply online via Net Banking / Credit / Debit Card through www.aicte-cmat.in. One can also opt for Cash Payment through challan generated online and cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI).

Admit card Candidates can start downloading their Admit Cards from September 12, 2014. Candidates need to carry a physical copy of their admit cards / hall ticket to the test centre.

CMAT Test pattern The exam duration is 180 minutes. Hundred questions are divided in four sections: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. Candidates can avail sample tests from the CMAT website, which will be available from August 10. According to the official notification, “A trial test will be available from 10th Aug onwards for the candidates to have a feel of the online test and navigation functionality. Candidates are advised to go though them carefully to familiarize themselves with the screens, layout, and navigation.” The notification further informed, “At the test venue, each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations. After the test, candidate must leave the scratch paper at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room. No breaks will be given during the test.”
cmat Results Results of CMAT September test will be declared on October 30, 2014. Candidates can print their score cards from October 30, 2014 to November 30, 2014.

Cmat syllabus CMAT exam has five main sections: quant, data interpretation, logical reasoning, verbal ability and general knowledge. The syllabus revolves around Basic Mathematics (mostly arithmetic from standard 1 to 10), Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.
Mathematics
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
First prepare topics related to basic school arithmetic. Then move on to advanced topics like Permutation, Combination, Probability, Trigonometry, Geometry, Progressions and Logarithms.
Students are advised to follow the leading newspapers to stay updated on current affairs. A daily habit of spending 30 to 40 minutes on newspapers is a good long-term investment. For static General Knowledge, students can use any good reading material and memorise as much as possible.
English Pay attention to reading comprehensions, vocabulary building, grammatical concepts, fill in the blanks and jumbled sentences.
