5.2 Autodetection of active hardware Nokia UltraSite EDGE BTS software includes an autodetection feature that identifies all the active BTS hardware. This feature reduces the time spent onsite for commissioning, because manual system data entry will be minimal. The commissioning procedure consists of the following tasks: • start Nokia BTS Hardware Configurator to define the BTS hardware configuration and generate a report. • start Nokia UltraSite BTS Hub Manager to commission the FXC transmission units in the hub part of the BTS and generate a report. • start Commissioning Wizard in Nokia BTS Manager to commission the BTS and generate a commissioning report. The Nokia NetAct automatically documents the configuration, topology, and transmission parameters of Nokia UltraSite EDGE BTS connections into the Nokia NetAct database. At the end of the commissioning process, BTS Manager produces the Site Acceptance Report.
The construction of Nokia UltraSite EDGE BTS is optimised for macrocellular solutions. The cabinet and units are easy to install and move, and the uniform footprints allow Nokia UltraSite EDGE BTS to be installed anywhere a corresponding Nokia Talk-family cabinet can be installed.
