How I passed the ECE (and ECT) Board Exam last October 2015 Chapter 1

Good afternoon FUTURE ENGINEERS! Nais kong ipagdiwang ang success ng unang post ko, dahil sinipag ako! Yeheyyy! Wala lang nakakatuwa na may nagagawa ako ngayon. Usually niyan kasi nakababad lang ako sa TV or sa phone ko para pampalipas-oras. At least medyo productive hehe... Okay let's move on~ Ang post na ito ay tungkol sa mga materials at libro na binasa at ginamit ko para sa ECE board exam. Ito ay talagang nakatulong sa akin para i-build-up ulit ang knowledge at foundation ko sa mga nakalimutan ng mga topics at mga aralin nung college. Kung nagsisimula pa lang kayo nag-aaral at naguguluhan kayo o hindi niyo alam saan kayo magsisimula, chiiiilllllllll... natural lang yan. Ganyan din ako. Hindi naman talaga tayo ganoon ka super saiyan para matandaan natin lahat ng tinuro sa atin nung college, pero advantage din na natatandaan mo pa rin yung ibang naituro noong college. Ang scope ng ECE Board exam consists of four (4) subjects: Engineering Mathematics, GEAS, Electronics Engineering, and Electronics Systems and Technologies (Communications). 100 questions/problems per subject. Para makapasa (PASSED) ka sa board exam, bawat subject ay may score ka ng 70 and above. Kapag 69 and below ang score mo sa isa o higit pang subject, considered FAILED. Kapag naman sa tatlong subject ay 70 and above ka at sa isang subject naman ay 60-69 ang iyong score, ang resulta ay CONDITIONAL. Kapag ikaw ay conditional, ire-retake ang subject na naibagsak sa susunod na board exam. Lahat ng mga ito ay nakasaad sa RA 9292 (click here [http://www.lawphil.net/statutes/repacts/ra2004/ra_9292_2004.html] ). Hindi naman necessary na marami ang iyong books and materials. Ang importante ay yung marami kang nasagutang problems at marami kang mga knowledge na nalalaman from the books that you read. Heto ang mga books at review materials na binasa at ginamit ko: IMPORTANT: LECTURES FROM COLLEGE AND REVIEW SESSIONS Mathematics - any Mathematics Handbook published ng iyong napiling review center. Since nag-review ako dati sa Excel Review Center Manila, ginamit ko ang Mathematics Handbook by Tiong. - Review Materials provided by Excel (take home exams, assignments, additional print-outs) - 1001 Solved Problems in Engineering Mathematics and General Sciences by Tiong (highly recommended) - How to Solve Word Problems in Calculus by Don & Don (in PDF) - Pocketbook of Formulas in Mathematics and GEAS by Tiong - Engineering Mathematics Handbook by Agustin ng PERCDC - Discrete Mathematics and its Applications by Rosen General Engineering and Applied Sciences (GEAS) - any GEAS Handbook published ng iyong napiling review center. Since nag-review ako dati sa Excel Review Center - Manila,

ginamit ko ang General Engineering and Applied Sciences Handbook (Blue Book) by Tiong. - Review Materials provided by Excel (take home exams, assignments, additional print-outs) - 1001 Solved Problems in Engineering Mathematics and General Sciences by Tiong (highly recommended) - GEAS Book by PERCDC - Pocketbook of Formulas in Mathematics and GEAS by Tiong - Thermodynamics by Sta. Maria - ECE Laws and Memorandums (especially RA 9292) Tip: Simula pa lang ng review for board exam, magpractice nang magsolve ng mga Math and GEAS problems. I-develop ang pulso sa pagso-solve hanggang sa matutunan ang mga keywords at pattern paano i-solve ang mga iba't ibang problems. In short, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Electronics Engineering - Teach Yourself Electricity and Electronics by Gibilisco (in PDF) - Electronics Books by Floyd or Boylestad or Malvino - Excel's e-Review - Review Materials provided by Excel (take home exams, assignments, additional print-outs) - 4001 Questions in Electronics Engineering by Cuervo - Electronics Engineering Handbook by Villamor - Electronics Engineering Handbook by Cuervo - Questions in indiabix.com Electronics Systems and Technologies (EST) - Communication Electronics by Frenzel - Any Communications Book by Tomasi or Forouzan - Electronics Systems and Technologies Handbook by Cuervo - 4001 Questions in Electronics Systems and Technologies by Cuervo - Review Materials provided by Excel (take home exams, assignments, additional print-outs) - Excel's e-Review - Pocketbook of Formulas for EST by Excel Tip: For the first 2-3 months of review, basahin at tapusin ang mga books on basic Elecs and EST to build up your knowledge and foundation. For Elecs, I suggest reading Gibilisco or Electronics Books by Floyd/Boylestad/Malvino. For EST, try Frenzel's Book. And there you have it. Hindi lang naman ito ang mga available na books and materials. Marami pa po akong hindi nabanggit dito. Again ang mga nakalagay dito ay ang mga libro na nagamit ko. If you have more time para makapag-review, research din po kayo ng ibang materials. Also ang importante ay huwag mag-aabsent sa mga review sessions. Makinig ng mabuti at maglecture. After mag-lecture, i-review agad ang nilecture para talagang tumatak sa isip. For PDF copies ng mga nabanggit na libro, I'll upload it soon.
