AD&D Fantasy Materials (includes "science fantasy")
Aluminium This is Aluminum and is very very rare. It is more valuable than platinum. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy. Aluminium is !orth o#. $ %%p. Adarcer (D!. "Truesteel") This is a !hite alloy' a fusion of An (iron)' loin (carbon)' and o (titanium). It is e*tremely stron' but some!hat riid and difficult to !or+ once fored. If properly !or+ed' it can cleave iron !ithout dullin. This is made from common real materials but real carbon steel cannot be alloyed !ith titanium so it is included here as a fantasy material. Adamant Adamantium' see Adamantite. Adamantine ,teel Adamantium' see Adamantite. Adamantite Adamantite is an opa-ue crystalloid material (a metalloid li+e boron) of briht s+y blue color. It is more often seen alloyed to steel in the form of Adamantine ,teel (called Adamantium) than in any other form. o!ever' it is stronest in its pure form and is very rare. Dro!s ma+e an adamantine steel that is blac+. They alloy the adamantite !ith somethin else or use a completely different material. The !ord Adamant simply means as hard as Adamantium. It is second only to ard alvorn in !eapons. Adamantite is !orth o#.$ /%%p. Adamantium Adamantine ,teel' see Adamantite. Ama#onium 0 see Mithril. An (lv. "Iron") 1ure An (iron) is silver!hite and both malleable and ductile. 1ure An' thouh' is rare. The more common variety is dar+ ray' stroner' yet bendable (pi iron). It is used principally in the ma+in of 2oran (steel) or for mean purposes. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy.
Anilian also ,tarmetal This is metoric iron from nic+eliron metorites. It has un+no!n and unusual po!ers. This material is not found any!here in the !orld3 there is no Anilian mine any!here. Anilian is found only in meteorites. Anilian is e*tremely solid and stron !hen !or+ed. The surface has a dullray almost blac+ appearance. 4n!or+ed it is soft. 5hen alloyed it ma+es e*tremely hard !eapons. Arboran (lv. "ihsteel") ,imilar in appearance and character to 2oran' Arboran is stroner still then ra! An (iron) or 2oran (steel). Fused of An (iron)' loin (carbon)' and a smatterin of one or more odd metals' it holds a sharper ede than 2oran. It is basically crucible hih carbon steel perhaps treated !ith tunsten carbide and platinum on any eded surface. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy. Asiceton It is proof aainst fire and steel3 steel shatters upon asiceton' and !hatever fires touch it are instantaneously -uenched. It has little strenth of its o!n and is soft li+e lead. o!ever it may be poured over harder materials !here it becomes as hard as that !hich it covers. Asardian metal see 4ru. Aurum (true old) see 4ru. 2as+ar 0 see Mandalorian Iron. 2lac+ 6rystal ,hell Material see alvorn. 2lac+ Mithril see Mithril. 2oran (lv. ",teadfastiron" or ",teel") This silvery alloy is a favorite of the d!arves. Fused of An (iron) and loin (D!. "Truecoal" or "6arbon")' it is stron and durable. ,ometimes called lo!steel' 2oran (steel) supports more than An (iron)' and is cheaper and more pliable than Adarcer. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy. 2urnin Ice
7
In the !astes of blac+ ice' !here pressures of laciers !ear upon the ice !ith tremendous force' deposits of burnin ice can be found. This ice loo+s !hite but burns spontaneously in the air !ith a blue flame. ,ealed it !ill resist burnin. If it is !armed' it !ill burn !ithout air. It produces a blue liht and a cold fire that can burn !ith frostbite. Instead of smo+e' it produces heavy !hite !ater mist that falls to the floor rather than risin li+e smo+e. It can be used to cold fore special !eapons li+e those made of 8aen. 2ysus9 ,ea ,il+ 2ysus is made from shavin off the beard of certain clams and processin it into a yarn and cloth. It is reenish bro!n but shines olden li+e brass in briht liht. It is hihly pri#ed for the clothes of nobles but e*tremely rare. It is an actual real !orld material. 6avorite 6avorite is impervious to ravity and can shield other materials from its effects. It is used to shield a craft from arth:s pull' allo!in easy fliht. It !as named after its discoverer' Dr 6avor' !ho used its levitational properties to travel to the Moon. It also coats Martian flyin machines' althouh' it is referred to as a "ravity bloc+in substance"' and not 6avorite. ,!ainsten or ,!ainstenium is a meteoric substance that repels from ravity. It is most certainly 6avorite. It is from Fu Manchu campains or others. 6armot 0 see ;are arths. 6elebran An alloy of An (iron)' loin (carbon)' mananese and nic+el. It:s stroner than 8o!steel' and very spriny. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy. 6eramalloy In future Gamma Tera campains' it is a hih tech alloy of steel and plastic in a ceramic form for use as concrete. 6innabryl A lo!in red maical metal that temporarily halts the ;ed 6urse created by vermeil. Depleted cinnabryl is called red steel' and is used for !eaponry and armour. 6leaver Metal
<
6leaver Metal is a future Gamma Tera metal that "heals" itself li+e !ounded s+in. It can do so indefinitely. It heals at varyin rates dependin on its construction. 6old Iron This iron' mined deep underround' +no!n for its effectiveness aainst fey creatures' is fored at a lo!er temperature to preserve its delicate properties. 6ollapsium 6ollapsium is described as collapsed star material or neutron star in a very thin coatin. ven ard alvorn is not this dense. It is from various far future settins includin The Morrow Project. =eutronium is the densest material in Star Trek settins. It seems to be similar to 6ollapsium and so is listed here. 6ortosis 6ortosis ore !as a very rare' brittle' fibrous material !hose conductive properties caused lihtsabers to temporarily short out upon contact' althouh the !ielder could solve this problem by turnin the blade bac+ on after a fe! minutes. This effect made cortosis a useful material for antilihtsaber melee !eapons' thouh !ith repeated stri+es' a lihtsaber could still cut throuh it. 6ortosis' due to its heat and enery resistant properties' !as also resistant to blaster fire and thus used in armor' fortresses' and star destroyer hulls. It had several forms. ;a! unrefined 6ortosis ore !as danerous to the touch and could +ill livin beins. It is naturally a ray lead li+e material that !hen bro+en contains a fiberli+e construction' some!hat li+e asbestos. 6ortosis 5eave is an alloy covered !ith 6ortosis that could bloc+ a lihtsaber but not short it out. Microfibers' not unli+e carbon nanotubes' form the basis for this armor coatin. 6ortosis ,hield is a stron alloyed armor material that is safe to touch (li+e !eave) bloc+s lihtsaber attac+s (or at least can ta+e many hits before ivin !ay) and can short out lihtsabers that stri+e it. It can be used for both !eapons and armor. It is a dull satin finish blac+ to dar+ ray colored metal. These alloys are found in Star Wars campains.

6rystal ,hell Material see alvorn. 6rysteel see 1lasteel. Dar+!ood A hard !ood that is nevertheless very liht (from < rd edition AD&D ). It also ta+es enchantment very easily. ). Deep 6rystal Deep crystal is crystal of aboveaverae -uality found at the hearts of lare veins or deposits of mundane crystal (from <./ edition AD&D ). Deep crystal is reno!ned for its ). strenth and its psionically resonant nature. Deep crystal is used for many items of psionic manufacture' such as dor?es' po!er stones' and psicrystals. A !eapon made of deep crystal is no different from a mundane crystal !eapon for a nonpsionic character' but a psionic !ielder of a deep crystal !eapon can focus psionic po!er throuh it' increasin the damae that !eapon deals. As a free action' that does not provo+e attac+s of opportunity' the !ielder can channel psionic po!er into a melee !eapon or raned !eapon made of deep crystal. For 7 po!er points' the deep crystal !eapon deals an e*tra 7d@ points of damae. The !eapon !ill stay chared for minute or until it scores its ne*t hit. 2o!s' crossbo!s' and slins besto! this po!er on their ammunition. All missile !eapons lose this effect if they miss. o!ever' they may be recovered and chared aain. Any !eapon made of deep crystal costs '%%% p more than its noncrystal counterpart. Any item could potentially be made out of deep crystal. 2ecause deep crystal armor is considered to be made out of metal' druids cannot !ear it. Deep crystal has <% hit points per inch of thic+ness and a hardness of %. Dilithium Dilithium crystals are very rare in Star Trek settins and the crystals can store and direct enery. 5hen properly cut' they can direct massive amounts of enery. In maic based !orlds' they miht be useless baubles' or catalysts of tremendous po!er. Trilithium is another form of the crystal that is hihly unstable and can stop all the fusion in a star. Trilithium has no practical (non!eapon) use.
/
Dramadine Dramadine appears in t!o forms bluereen (feminine) and redpurple (masculine). There is no difference in their function other than havin t!o or more red crystals or t!o or more blue crystals offers no benefit. o!ever' one of each ?oin to form a redblue shimmerin to reenpurple crystal that has vastly enhanced po!ers. Multiple ?oined crystals offer no e*tra benefits. A sinle crystal' either red or blue' allo!s castin spells at double all effects 0 rane' duration' effect' etc. and all st' 7nd' and levels hiher. All po!ers are effected as before !ith saves at >. Breyha!+ Adventures 2oo+sC
Duracrete In future Gamma Tera campains' Duracrete is a li-uid or dry mi* duroconcrete made from a special cement mi*ture and Duralloy particles. It sets rapidly and is usually shaped by force shield forms as it bonds to any other form (mold) permanently. It has more heat resistant properties and radiation resistant properties than Duralloy alone. Also all force directed aainst it is directed out!ard at % derees such that fla+in of the outer surface occurs in layers. There is never any spa!lin on the interior surface. It must' therefore' be blasted throuh in staes. Duracerment Mi*in hard particles li+e diamonds or 2oron 6arbide crystals as fill and po!ered Aluminum binder and ba+in at hih temperature produces a ceramic cement' hence Ecerment. In future Gamma Tera campains' Duracerment is a cerment based on this idea usin Duralloy as the binder and other various crystals as the fill. It is completely resistant to laser torch cuttin (!hich usually can cut Duralloy) and stronly resists even Thorium fusion torch cuttin. =ormally' even Duralloy falls under a fusion torch' but
@
Duracerment can resist for lon periods' thus e*posin the torch operator to hih levels of radiation. Duralass see Mithril (Duralloy). Durale* In future campains' this is a super stron rubberli+e material made !ith some Duralloy. Duralloy see Mithril (Duralloy). Duralon In future campains' this is a super stron rope and fiber made !ith Duralloy filaments. Duran (lv. "Dar+iron") This dar+ ray alloy is another favorite of the d!arves. 4nli+e the other steels' it o*idi#es !ith a deepblac+ patina. Fused of An (iron) and loin (D!. "Truecoal" or "6arbon")' and Thinil (lv. "ray star") it is the stronest and hardest of the nonenchanted metals. More difficult to fore than Adarcer' it cannot be !or+ed !ithout a reater fore and a master smith. 2asically' it is similar to a cobaltchromium alloy !ith tunsten carbide. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy. Duranium see =a-uadah. Duroconcrete 0 see Duracrete. Durodemidiamondplus In future Gamma Tera campains' this is the hardest plastic armor made from some amounts of Duralloy. It is a metal plastic alloy. It does not have the heat resistance of true Duralloy but is touher. Durodemidiamondplus 6oncrete In future Gamma Tera campains' this is the hardest material +no!n. It is made from 6ollapsium' Durodemidiamondplus' and Duralloy particles and fibers. It is a Ecerment (ceramic cement) made from metal plastic alloys and Duralloy. ctoplasm ctoplasm is a psionicGmaical substance formed by the po!er of the mind. It forms the bodies of hosts and other maical
H
creatures' as !ell as many maically substances. It is much li+e a ray vapor but can be as hard as Adamantine steel. In harder forms' it is often a neutral ray color. o (lv. "l:s Iron") This is the fantasy name for titanium. o is the lven !ord for it. The D!arves call it i#a+uur. It is said to be a hidden lven recipe from the ouse of l but the only recipe is the secret process of its processin. It is simply titanium. o is one of the rarest metals. o re-uires both hot and cold forin of an intensity necessitatin maical furnaces. o can be made !ith different tints' blue' reen' red' orane' silver' and old are all common. =ormally it is ray silver. This formula is one the elves !ill not trade !ith the d!arves' ?ust as the latter !ill not divule the secret of Javednur. The finished product is incredibly hard and stron' more so than Ithilnaur and Javednur. Moreover' it holds an ede sharper than all materials other than the maical materials of Mithril' Krichalcum' Adamantite and ard alvorn. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy. ternal Ice In the cold !astes !here the pressures of laciers !ear upon the ice' deposits of ternal or ard Ice can be found. This ice is incredibly hard and can be cutGfored into sharp !eapons. It resists heat much better than ice' ta+in years to melt' but nonmaical !eapons made of ternal Ice !ill eventually melt in !arm climes' unless treated !ith po!erful maics. therstuff ther is an insubstantial ray and luminous mist similar to ctoplasm. 8i+e ctoplasm' harder' denser islands of it form in the theric 1lane !here it is found. It can also manifest in the etheric bodies of certain maical beins. Feanaur (lv. ",piritfire") It is a secret of the elves and thouht to be part of the liht of reat Trees in solid form. Femanin see Mithril. Fire Marble see 8umashella.

First Trees. The first trees of the elves !ere the !hite !ood trees of the moon and the yello! !ood trees of the da!n. First !ood made from the first trees al!ays can heal itself even thouh lon cut. A '%%% year old spear that brea+s can be set toether and "healed" by itself. ;ed !ood trees of the t!iliht also e*isted as !ell as corrupted blac+ !ood trees of the niht. All the first trees are no! one (at least from reyha!+). ;emainin !ood stoc+s or !eapon hafts' and bo!s' are treated as relics. BFred as+ellC Fi*ated Mercury 0 see Metallica. Fi*ed Mercury 0 see Metallica. alvorn (lv. ",hinin 2lac+") (,oft and True alvorn) alvorn is the rarest metal in the !orld. alvorn is impossibly stron yet malleable and resists cuts and punctures' the ultimate armor material. It can sometimes be found in meteorites. First developed by the leendary l' and it is said' introduced to him by Annatar' alvorn can be alloyed !ith Anilian' Mithril and old and it becomes a soft malleable nonporous cloth' yet it resists cuts and punctures. This !as the first form of alvorn made. 6alled ,oft alvorn' cloa+s made from it are superior to lven mithril chain mail. ,oft alvorn shines blac+ li+e !et seals+in and is almost impossible to puncture. alvorn is interestin in that it has t!o distinct forms both called alvorn. The first' ,oft alvorn' is an alloy. True or ard alvorn !as made from the ra! meteoric ore and is the stronest substance +no!n (maical or other!ise) and the most difficult to !or+ !ith. *tremely hot fores and touh smithin tools are necessary to !or+ !ith this material effectively. The t!in s!ords of l !ere made from True alvorn. True alvorn is similar to the natural state of the material. It is more crystal than metal. It is the same material as the 2lac+ 6rystal ,hell Material of the spheres. ard alvorn is lustrous blac+ in appearance' causin the uneducated to mista+e it for 8aen. Due to its enchanted nature' it has the same affinity to maic as Ithilnaur. ssentially' it is the ultimate metal for both arms and armor. ard alvorn is sometimes called Kbdurium in D&D campains campains and is said to be harder and more durable than adamantine
(hardness <%' @% 1 per inch). alvorn is !orth o#.$ %%%p. In future campains' ard alvorn is the same as rell ,teel. rell ,teel is a hard' dar+' dense steel from far future !orlds. To far future !eapons' it has the same resistance as 6ollapsium. lasteel lasteel can be any lass or crystal that has had glasteel cast on it and made permanent. Kbsidian' lass' leaded crystal' -uart#' diamond' and other emstones can be made this !ay. Knce turned into lasteel' the lass (or other clear material) can be pounded li+e steel. It is soft and can be fored. ,onics effect it li+e metal as !ell. o!ever' it retains its oriinal meltin point. Therefore' diamond or -uart# lasteel is better to have. loin (D!. "Truecoal" or "6arbon") ,imple 6arbon. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy. rav!ood rav!ood is similar to 8ift!ood but does not repel ravity. It is simply not effected at all by ravity. It is a dense hard!ood that can be used to build levitatin spell?ammers or other ships. It ro!s in !ildspace around a as nebula. (from the !eb by ,cott Mc6arroll) arbenite (cor+ metal) see Mithril. ard Ice 0 see ternal Ice. arpsteel Is a metal !hich adds you use it this metal
!hich resonates !ith anythin it stri+es' and a small bit of sound damae. An armorbuster' if riht. The ,inin ,!ord (ram) !as made !ith and a handle of ;hineold.
ithlane ;ope ithlane is a rare vine that lves can ma+e into an incredibly stron and liht!eiht rope. i#a+uur 0 see o. Ithildin Emoon siht
%
Ithildin is a decorative silver metal that lo!s !hen e*posed to moonliht. In the liht' it appears as normal silver. It is often used to inlay maic runes or !ritins in !eapons. Ithilnaur (lv. "Moonfire") Ithilnaur is an enchanted alloy of the elves made from Mithril' 2oran (steel)' o (titanium)' and Feanaur (lv. ",piritfire"). ,ince it is made primarily from Mithril it retains the beautiful' shinin' silver appearance. It is a fabulously stron substance that maintains a superbly +een ede' and yet is some!hat fle*ible. 5hile not as liht as Mithril' Ithilnaur is stroner and harder than Duran and holds an e*ceptionally sharp ede. Moreover' due to its enchanted nature' Ithilnaur:s most pri#ed -uality is its affinity to maic. Javednite This is the fantasy name for uranium. This is a common real material rather than a fantasy material but is included here for completeness of terminoloy. Javednur (D!. "Deepiron") Javednur is an enchanted alloy !hose production remains a secret of the d!arves. 5hat is +no!n to others is that it is fored from Duran and the smelted form of Javednite ore. The location of any Javednite (uranium) veins and the process of smeltin the ore are un+no!n to others. Javednur alloy is very dense' hard' and e*ceedinly stron. The d!arves favor its ability to ma+e formidable bludeonin !eapons' as it is not only hard but heavy (dense). aiburr 6rystal aiburr crystal is a very rare liht blue crystal attuned to the Force and used in lihtsabers. o!ever' ?ust holdin or bein near the crystal enhances one:s ability to heal usin the Force and manifies one:s Force po!er. These crystals are found in Star Wars campains. rell ,teel see alvorn. 8a+ofcite is the decay mineral produced from the brea+do!n of Tum+eoite !hich is the mineral that radiates the Dro! homeland. 8aen (lv. "8on Thread")
Also +no!n as "Truelass" by many' the elven name 8aen refers to the incredibly lon crystal lattice structure' allo!in for the strenth of the material. 8aen is an e*tremely hard volcanic lass !hich can be fored into incredibly +een almost indestructible !eapons. Kf course' this does not e*plain the bi#arre property of 8aen9 it ains strenth and riidity !ith heat. Knly by chillin to temperatures beyond cold can it be smelted or fored. =atural 8aen is usually blac+ or smo+y' but it can be smelted clear and tinted any number of transparent colors. As a result it is often mista+en for lasteel' or !hen colored' lasteel ;uby' merald' etc. 8aen is also a popular medium for maical devices such as enchanted lenses and ?e!els. 8aen is found in its pure form' there is no refinement re-uired. 8ift!ood In Space 1889 settins' it is a !ood that ro!s on Mars and repels ravity. 8i-uid Metal In future Gamma Tera settins' it is a hard material that becomes li-uid and reforms into other ob?ects. A coffee mu could become a remote control. 6omputer controlled 8i-uid Metal is called Mimetic 1olyalloy and can chane into many forms (not ?ust one to another) and even be made into chameleon robots. 8i-uid =a-uadah see =a-uadah. 8umashella This is also called Fire Marble. It is a stone from Forotten ;ealms that is bro!n !ith small' iridescent opal li+e snails' and !eihs about @% pounds per cubic foot. It has the natural property of bloc+in teleportation' as !ell as resistin dimensional movement. ,o it can bloc+ etheric or astral travel or scryin into or out of a room made of it. 8unarent 0 see Moonsilver. Mandalorian Iron' also +no! by natives of Mandalor as 2as+ar' is made !ith a secret process and has the strenth of hih alloy steels but a third the !eiht. It is also very resistant to lihtsaber attac+s. It resembles normal iron. It can be alloyed !ith many other metals includin 6ortosis and 1hri+. This metal is found in Star Wars campains.

Mestare 6rystal Mestare 6rystal is a fairly rare clear crystal attuned to the Force and used in lihtsabers. o!ever' lihtsabers usin this crystal at the core become curved' li+e a +atana. All Mestare lihtsabers are resistant to the effects of shortin out !hen hittin 6ortosis. These crystals are found in Star Wars campains. Metallica Metallica is true Mercury. An unfortunate sideeffect of Metallica is that it disturbs mental processes in its presence and drives most creatures insane. The process of construction is not difficult but is seldom practiced. Metallica is enerally a li-uid but' in the presence of a maical field can be made riid. This is sometimes +no!n as "Fi*ated Mercury'" or "Fi*ed Mercury." Fi*ed Mercury is +no!n as ,ilvervein. ,ilvervein is the riid form of true Mercury. It is used for maic items' especially those affectin the mind or involvin contrary or reversin maic. Melane Melane is the spiceN from Duneworld settins. It has settins. psychoenic properties and the ability to lenthen lifespans. The 5aters of 8ife are the converted form of the hihly concentrated melane produced from dyin sand!orms. Mimetic 1olyalloy see 8i-uid Metal. Minde* A brilliant silver metal that conducts mental enery the !ay copper conducts electricity. It is soft and brittle. Mind!ood Mind!ood is one component commonly used by the Arcane in (space) helm construction. It is a soft!ood that ro!s in a handful of very remote spheres. It has the effect of enhancin mindaffectin spells' rantin a O7 circumstantial bonus to the difficulty chec+ of all spells and effects that re-uire a !ill save (7 nd edition9 7 penalty to all saves vs. spell). Mithril (lv. "True, ilver") 1ure Mithril is in many !ays li+e normal silver9 shinin !hite ray silver but it does not tarnish' hence it al!ays appears polished. It is also called true silver. (In first edition AD&D materials and some second edition materials' it materials
<
!as called mthral' for copyriht issues.) More importantly' it alloys !ith other metals to produce uni-ue enchanted metals of incomparable -uality. 5henever one travels to !here Mithril is +no!n' it is considered the richest of metals. Mithril is loved above all materials by d!arves. It is also treasured by elves' humans' and most other intellient races. Mithril is !orth o#.$ <%%p. 1ure Mithril is rarely used e*cept by the !ealthiest. 4sually' it is alloyed !ith a small amount of 2oran (steel). This alloy retains the name Mithril and represents the common variety. 5hile not as stron as Adamantite' Mithril is e*ceedinly liht. A meter trianle that is mm thic+ !eihs a mere > rams. Alloyed Mithril has a !eiht more li+e aluminum. It also has tremendous heat resistant properties. Thus !hile it ta+es a sharp ede3 it is most pri#ed in the manufacture of armor. Mithril re-uires a reater fore and a master smith. A corrupt and unholy material is 2lac+ Mithril. It is thouht to be only Mithril that has been maically corrupted. o!ever' some saes suest that is its o!n material and can be found in a natural state. The places !here natural deposits have been found are located in blihted or demon controlled areas. ,o the -uestion of its natural oriin is still an open -uestion. ither !ay it has unusual properties. It has the same properties in strenth and !eiht as Mithril (althouh some say it is not truly as stron) but it is dull blac+ (!ill not ta+e a polish) and is al!ays cold to the touch even !hen sittin in fire. If it stri+es an enemy small pieces brea+ off and poison the taret. 2lac+ mithril is from Ardun settins. Mithril (Duralloy) Duralloy is from future Gamma Tera campains and is the same thin as Mithril. It has a density of %.%%7
>
Trinium' % times the strenth of steel and onetenth the !eiht is from the SG1 4niverse. It is also a form of MithrilGDuralloy. Tritanium is from Star Trek settins and is described as 7.> times as hard as diamond. It is also called Epure' at one point' so is not an alloy. iven its liht !eiht' it !ell could be a form of MithrilGDuralloy' and so is listed here. 8astly' Femanin or Ama#onium' the metal of 5onder 5oman:s po!er bracelets' is MithrilGDuralloy. In her !orld' it comes from only one source on her home isle' The Isle of the Ama#ons. Moonsilver Also +no!n as lunarent' moonsilver is considered by the 8unar *alted to be a ift from their patron' the moon oddess. It must be harvested by moonliht' usin no crafted tools' fored at niht and cooled only !ith !ater that has never seen the sun. ,!ords made of moonsilver are more accurate' bo!s shoot farther and armor is much lihter. 8i+e the protean 8unars' moonsilver can shift into ne! forms easily. Mortis!ood 5ood from a tree'or allo!s !here criminals !ere hun. It is used in dar+ maics and =ecromancy. =a-uadah It is an e*tremely useful metal used across the SG1 4niverse. ,tarates are composed of it and most oa:uld technoloy utili#es it. It is the sole metal able to store enouh enery and !ithstand its release to create a !ormhole. The metal is so important that many planets: sole tas+ is to mine it' as !as the case on Abydos. The ,6 uses li-uid na-uadah in the form of a reactor to create lare amounts of enery in a portable format for !eapons. It can also be used as a nuclear booster for e*plosives. =a-uadria is a hihly concentrated and e*plosive form of =a-uadah used for po!erful bombs and for the reactors of ,tardrives of the ,6. It is found only on one planet. =a-uadah may be the same as Duranium. Duranium is an impossibly dense and stron material from Star Trek settins. Duranium could be a form of 6ollapsium iven its
/
density or even Duralloy iven its ability to absorb enery. o!ever' it can be mined and is not mentioned as very hard' only dense and enery absorbent' !hich !ould not be li+e either 6ollapsium or Duralloy. It is most li+ely a form of =a-uadah' as =a-uadah can hold enouh enery to operate a stardrive or open a !ormhole and yet remain intact. =a-uadah is also not noted as bein incredibly hard' ?ust li+e Duranium' but it is very enery absorbant.
