Please ensure that your completed portfolio contains all of the documents detailed detailed below. Ideally, all portfolio documents documents should be submitted in electronic electronic format whenever possible. Portfolios should be kept by the participant / centre until all grades and certificates have been awarded.
Teaching Practice (TP) documents Each course participant (CP) must complete complete a minimum of 3 hours TP TP (2 age groups, 4 lessons). For each TP, the following documents must be included in the final portfolio: lesson plan cover and procedure (with tutor feedback comments), all materials (e.g. adapted course book material, supplementary material or created material. Copies of materials such as flashcards etc. do not need to be included), included), completed personal feedback form and tutor feedback form.

Assignments CPs complete two assignments assignments during the course. One is an evaluation of material material and one is a selfreflection task identifying teaching strengths, weaknesses, areas for development and outlining an action plan to address these.

IH CYLT Portfolio Tasks There are 11 portfolio tasks during the course. CPs must complete a minimum of 7 tasks, 2 of which are compulsory. These may be completed during an input session, started during an input session and completed at home, or set as homework. Evaluation of a course book activity practising language. PRE-SESSION task: record and transcribe 10m of 2 lessons Preparing a listening task using a song for one of 4 scenarios. Preparing a 6 lesson plan grid which incorporates different approaches and builds on language presented. *Compulsory task* Planning reading activities for reading tasks in chosen course book material. Evaluating a writing activity and writing instructions of how to stage it. Adapting a page in a cour se book to suit different learning styles. Learner case study with profile of needs and abilities and action plan for how to cater to these. Re-writing previously taught TP main lesson aims.
Observation Tasks CPs must complete a minimum of 6 hours observation during the course, including a minimum of 2 hours experienced teacher observation and 2 hours peer observation. Of the 6 hours, up to 2 hours may be DVD observations. CPs must complete at least 8 different observation tasks during the course. Completed tasks must be included in the final portfolio. They may complete more than one task per observation, but the length of observation is only counted once.
