Project Title An investigation into the amount of electricity used in a home for the month. mont h.
Introduction The purpose of this assignment is to find feasible means of conserving energy and to use given data to calculate electricity bill. The amount of energy used for the month mon th will be calculated by subtracting the previous reading from the current reading in kilo watt (KWHs). Hence, when calculating the amount of energy used for the month you will subtracting the th e previous reading from the current reading the customer will be able to determine whether they will pay a large amount of money on the bill or small amount In order for the customer to pay a little amount on bill they will conserve the energy by turning off lights and appliances that are not in use, Use energy saving bulbs instead of the heat ones and to ensure that the rubber seals o n the refrigerator door fits, to keep cool air in. If the customers do as fallow the usage of electricity from the previous strength will be steady, except for the 11Th month the usage will drop
The Objectives are:
1. What are the effects on electrify bills when the current is breach? 2. What are the causes of a high electricity bill? 3. What would b the best method of conserving?
1
Data Collection The amount of energy used for the month was calculated to get the amount due in kilo watt (KWH). The meter # 1423930 was read by a JPS employee in order to collect data to calculate the amount of energy used for the month. This amount was calculated by subtracting the previous reading from the current reading, the amount of electricity used for the month was relatively low according to the energy usage shown on figure #1, this could be due to the fact that the consumer conserved energy by turning off lights and appliances that was not been used. Presentation Data The pie chart below shows the percentage of the amount of current used on appliances for the month.
Appliances Refrigerator Television Washing Machine Heat bulbs Table # 2
Amount of current used 15% 10% 15% 60%
According to the table above the most amount of energy used for the month was on heat bulbs, Hence the others are as follow: 15% was used on the refrigerator, 10% on Television and 15% on heat Bulbs.

Analysis of Data The amount of energy used for the month was calculated to get the amount due in kilo watt (KWH). Table one shows that the amount of energy used for the month was calculated to get the amount due in kilo watts (KWHT), in conclusion the higher h igher the watt the more current will be used. The bar graph in figure #1 shows that the amount of energy used for the month was relatively low. Table #1 shows the overall calculation of the electricity used for the month. The pie in figure #2 shows the percentage of the amount amount of current used on appliances for the month. According to the table #2 the most amount of energy used for the month was on heat bulbs, Hence the others are as follow: 15% was used on the refrigerator, 10% on Television and 15% on heat Bulbs.

Discussion of Findings/Conclusion Findings/Conclusion While it is possible to get an affordable electricity bill the current might be breached, therefore the Jamaica public Service (JPS) company might mi ght get an incorrect reading. Electric current is a flow of charged particles, In order for the current to flow; there must be a complete path around which the charged particles can move. The path is called electric circuit. The amount of energy used for the month was 103 (KWH). This amount was calculated by subtracting the previous reading from the current reading, the amount of electricity used for the month is relatively low this could be due to the fact that the consumer conserved energy en ergy by turning off lights and appliances that was not been used. Other advises on how the consumer con sumer could lower electricity bill are as the following:
Use mostly energy saving light bulbs and led appliances in the home. Make sure that the rubber on the refrigerator door fits, to keep cool air in.
From the previous trends the consumer usage of electricity was steady, expect for the month mont h the usage dropped.
