Traffic congestion in Bangladesh,causes and solution

Abstract— Traffic jam is very common phenomenon in all cities of Bangladesh.In resent time traffic jam problem in Bangladesh are increasing at an alarming rate. This is a problem that requires more attention and needs to to be dealt with more seriousness as it is killing lots of work hours. With those hours this country could achieve a lot more. All those hours are going in to vain. We might not be noticing , Everyday this country is falling behind due to this one common problem. In this paper my concern is to deal with this must solve problem and represent a way which according to my research would prove to be quite useful to solve it. I have shown the different way to problem and improving situation traffic management .
I. INTRODUCTION Bangladesh Is most densely Populated Country In the World . The population of Bangladesh is estimated at 158,512,570 as of July 1 2014[1] . Day By Day Bangladesh Is badly affected by huge traffic jam . Transport media In Bangladesh is public bus, private car ,rickshaw , taxi cap , Cycle , Motor Cycle etc . In Dhaka city Most People used transport is Public bus . Most Public Bus and another transport do not follow the traffic rule. In Bangladesh The Dhaka North and South city corporation (DNCC),(DSCC) is responsible for installation and maintenance of the traffic signaling system. But some transport do not follow the signaling system. Bangladesh Government take the decision then every jam point establish the flyover . It is Good Idea but it is not good solutions for the traffic jam . Because Flyover making Needed huge of Money and huge of time . if the making flyover in the jam point then the under land is useless . Flyover need Dhaka city but minimum flyover not maximum . Some Flow rule then don not traffic jam , these are bus stop the bus stoppages , and picking up , dropping the passengers from bus stoppages . one Family use one car , other family member uses public bus . because our road is very narrow if the people use public bus then the solution traffic jam. we are suffering mentally ,physically to the traffic jam. I want to work on this issue to find out the causes and solutions the traffic jam. II. L ITERATURE R EVIEW In Modern life we have to face most dangerous problems in traffic jam .Many People Research the Traffic jam . But unfortunately there is no better way to solve the traffic jams. In 1992 Bangladesh government decide long-term strategy to improve traffic jam in the Greater Metropolitan area of Dhaka. The World Bank to help fund the Dhaka Urban Transport Project (DUTP).This project includes policy issues, development, building capacity etc [2] . Shuichi and Hironao research paper shown Traffic situation of the street
cars improving traffic signaling strategies. their proposed signaling strategy improves the traffic situation of the street cars [3] . The development of transport facilities as infrastructure and vehicles, the rapid rise in transport demand, existence of a huge number of non-motorized vehicles on roads [4] Saiful Alam Shovan shown his research paper findings on fuel consumption and environmental impact of rickshaw in Dhaka city .[3] Many road corner in Dhaka city are short in distance. These road are perfect of Rickshaws. Rickshaws are cheap and popular transport in short distances. Rickshaws are safe ,friendly and dont rely on fossil fuels. But another researcher , research Rickshaws are main common blamed for the traffic jam in Bangladesh, particularly in Dhaka city.[3]. Asadullah Khan described the scenario of traffic jam in Dhaka city in Daily Star with the title When shall we get rid of Dhaka city traffic jam?, published on October 20, 2007 [5].The major purpose of this report is to understand the causes of traffic congestion and to analyze the impacts of congestion on the public vehicle drivers along with the assessment of public behavior towards traffic congestion

Analyze the condition of traffic management system . Find out the Solution of traffic jam . Find out the causes of traffic jam . Analyze the future condition of traffic jam .
IV. T RAFFIC M ANAGEMENT S YSTEM IN D HAKA C ITY The traffic management system are dhaka city is Rajdhani unnayan kartipakkha (Rajuk) , Dhaka metropolitan police(DMP) , Bangladesh road transport authority (BRTA) . They plan and monitoring the traffic management system. Dhaka metropolitan police gave important strategy and they already setup close circuit television , setup electric display board in city road and monitoring all the components easily . traffic police indicates parking , lan , footpath ,crossing , manpower etc . public transportation will be found that stop according to the stoppage. Traffic Engineering Department will be responsible for the control of all traffic signals within the City boundaries, their proper functioning and the optimization of their timing.
V. T RAFFIC JAM CAUSES Find out the causes of the traffic jam problem .many researcher research and causes the traffic jam problem . Theses are 1. Narrow road and low road space . 2. Over tacking problem . 3. Driving training. 4. Different vehicle speed . 5. Hawkers put there shops on footpath llegaly . 6. Poor signaling . 7. Stoppage and parking . 8. Traffic rules violation . VI. S OLUTION AND DISCUSSION I will discuss my research paper how to solve the traffic jam problem . if traffic law implementation then some thing solve the jam . maximum people transport public bus , office ,school scheduling time maintain .until and unless maximum people abide traffic rule , the government should take awareness the traffic rule . Many city road not pre planted , government should making road plan by plan , then some thing solve the problem . improve the lan management in city road . each and every road four lan . Bangladesh road transport authority should maintain transparency of their activity , Issuing driving license and transport fitness license should be monitored properly and proper steps should be taken in case of defaulters. Government is charging high amount of tax imported cars , and other vehicles . Bus stoppage should be well developed in the city and the law enforcing authority should be aware of confirming the implication of law. I am trying to my best afford this paper . VII. CONCLUSIONS Traffic jam is a global as well local problem . It is most important and dangerous problem in modern life . Due to traffic jam Dhaka city causing loss the economy Bangladesh .In this paper I study the problem of road traffic density , Traffic Management system etc.i want to reduce traffic jam using resources that are within our limit source . our goal we follow every traffic management system , then reduce the traffic jam.
