Astom gas power pants: the benets High ecienc in oth ase and part load
Astom gas power pants are designed to reach net pant eciencies up to 59% and above at base oad. They aso oer highest part-oad eciency. This is essentia today, as gas power pants operate mosty at intermediate oads, a consequence o dereguated markets and o grids where t he share o not-continuousy-avaiabe wind and/or soar based power is increasing.
Clean power generation
Thanks to their high eciency, Astom gas power pants oer ow CO 2 emissions. In addition, ow NOx emissions are achieved as a resut o the unique combustion technoogies used in Astom gas t urbines, such as sequentia combustion and annuar combustors with standardised EV-Burners (EnVironmenta Burners).
Otstanding operational fexiilit
Astom pants enabe continuous operation down to 40% reative oad and beow, whie maintaining ow emissions, as we as soutions or increased power capabiities. Technoogies used incude gas-turbine air-inet cooing eatures, gas-turbine peakring capabiities and duct ring or Astom’s heat-recovery steam generators.
Fll trnke, Engineering, Procrement and Constrction (EPC)
Speaking with one voice to the customer, Astom’s teams manage whoe-pant projects rom init ia design to commissioning, even operation and maintenance, too. More than 19 GW o gas-red power pant capacity have been awarded to Astom in the ast 3 years*.
Integrated power generation
Using its Pant Integrator™ approach, Astom provides customers with taior-made soutions that optimise each pant to oca conditions and specic business environments. Proposed soutions are based on pre-engineered reerence pants, using Astom’s unique portoio o in-house gas-power-pant technoogy or a key component s.

Creating Additional Value with Alstom’s Plant Integrator™ Approach
Astom wants to assist customers in optimising compete power pants. This process starts with the integration o Astom components and the goa o optimising the entire pant rather than optimising ony the respective components therein, to create the best t o customer needs and market conditions. For a compete power pant over its entire iecyce, Astom’s oerings contribute to ‘added vaue’. Customers can take advantage o Ast om’s unique bend o core competencies to aow aster competion o projects, improved perormance, reduced risks and ower costs.
4
Alstom’s Plant Integrator™ approach is based on the beie that the “Net Present Vale” (NPV) o the power pant over its ietime is the best way to measre the vale o a given constrction project. To increase NPV, as cacuated via conventiona methods, Astom has identied six key actors: •
•
•
•
•
•
Investment Lead-time Perormance Availability & operational exibility Retroft capability Lie extension capability
Other areas that sometimes can matter are aso considered, e.g. the compiance with or anticipation o environmenta reguations or the abiity or ue fexibiity. Sti, these conditions aways can be transated into one or severa o the above-mentioned actors o vaue.

The gas trine test power plant located in Birr, Switzerand, this provides a unique environment or maintaining Astom’s competitive advantage through product improvement, and it is cose by to Astom’s R&D aciity, the gas turbine deveopment department and the manuacturing pant. The test aciity has a dua ue GT26 and a dua ue GT8C2 gas turbine, both operating in simpe-cyce mode and dispatching to the Swiss eectrica grid. The shortened eedback oop (in time and distance) o ed experience speeds design vaidation and impementation in Astom’s gas turbine feet. The tes t pant, together with the product support organisation and the GT deveopment department, aows Astom to insure seamess impementation o evoutionary product improvements, based on the GT24/GT26 feet experience.
