BOEING 767 SYSTEMS REVIEW
ICE & RAIN 1. GENERAL ¡ The following instrument probes are electrically heated for anti-ice operation : - 2 Pitot static probes - 1 Angle Of Attack (AOA) probe - 1 Total Air temperature (TAT) probe - 2 Electronic Engine Control (EEC) probes (i.e. 1 in each engine intake) ¡ There are 7 individual probe lights on the Overhead panel.
2. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION PROBES ¡ Automatically ON any time an engine is running ¡ Individual probe heat lights permit the crew to monitor probe heat operation + EICAS also ¡ Probe heat test Ô on the ground with engines shut down
WINDOW HEAT ¡ 3 panes (the outer is not structural) ¡ Auto control of the temperature ¡ INOP Window Heat = Fault or overheat (If overheat = the system may be reset) ¡ Test to check the system for fault ¡ Fuel JETTISON cuts the heating on the AFT SIDE windows (+ WINDOW HEAT EICAS msg)
ENGINE ANTI-ICE ¡ CONTINUOUS ignition is activated automatically when : - Engine anti-ice is selected - AND start selector AUTO TAI is then displayed on the N1 indicator ¡ Valves electrically controlled and pressure actuated ¡ VALVE amber light + EICAS msg = disagreement (switch position to determine N1 correction)
WING ANTI-ICE ¡ Only on the 3 OUTBOARD SLATS ¡ Valves electrically controlled and pressure actuated & closed automatically on ground ¡ VALVE amber light + EICAS msg = disagreement (switch position to determine N1 correction) ¡ valve opens on GND during test (sensors to avoid an over temperature during the test)

WATER & WASTE SYSTEM HEATING ¡ Electrical heating provided by the Right Main 115V AC Bus for the following Water & waste systems : - Water supply & drain lines - Water fill connections - Waste tank connections - Drain masts ¡ Power for all components, except the drain mast heaters, is supplied from the Right Main 115V AC bus. The drain masts are powered by the Ground service bus 115V AC in flight & 28V AC power on the ground. ¡ Circuit breakers for drain mast heating & water line heating are located in the main equipment center (P33 panel, below cabin floor access hatch)
