EPILOGUE 111
PREFACE We have a lovely “summer” this autumn, it’s sunny and quite warm and I have decided that today is the day when I start sharing my personal experiences, reflections, learning - everything that I have gained in the last few years. I’m an English teacher and a musician, but I’m also interested in philosophy and spirituality. The spiritual dimension of life has always been somewhere beside me. I was raised as a Catholic, but later abandoned this road in order to study other religions and spiritual paths. One of the reason for this was my yearning for knowledge – to find something to fill a void in my life. I sensed that something was missing and that the concept of reality is much bigger than it is depicted in one particular religion. The second was the difficulties I experienced in dealing with poverty, addictions, mental diseases and much more negative things in my surroundings and family. I was looking for some consolation, some answers, because these struggles were sometimes so hard that I even thought of ending my life. But I never gave up, and studying these topics led me to find in my life, inner strength as well as peace and joy - regardless of what was going on in the outside world. I have become convinced that, building upon my own example, the life we all hope for, is accessible regardless of age, health, material status and where we live. For those who want to make a reality, there will always be a way. I now live in a magic relationship - one I always dreamt about – and one that is with the most wonderful person in the world. I have a job that I like to do. Of course, there are still negative energies and feelings that I meet with on everyday basis, but I have learnt how to transform them and not to let even one day come without a smile. I now understand that the most valuable skill in life is to achieve emotional freedom and master negativity.
7
You see, when we transform ourselves inwardly, everything in our lives will follow, bringing us happiness and joy. We will be able to look upon life’s problems and obstacles from a different perspective - not to mention than most of these will just disappear the moment we see that they were merely created only by ourselves. We will also be able to more easily achieve the things in life we dream about because all the law of attraction is based on a concept of ‘feeling’ emotions. Most people build relationships, gather baggage and burdens, material wealth and this and that. Later, they fear that they will lose this all - instead of enjoying what they have and truly living live to the full. Yet, material goods, while perhaps necessary are not the end all and be all. From what I have learnt and experienced, we should first go on that quest for happiness and later walk down that road to our true desires. This is an ultimate expression of both spiritual and physical. That is why I decide to call this book – “Be Happy, Then Live.” It is a story of a journalist who transformed his life after having interviewed one of the famous so-called spiritual teachers. In this book, I also want to debunk a myth that sometimes arises around such people. Yes, it is truth that many of these teachers, gurus, whatever you wish to call them – are charlatans – seeking only fame and money and giving nothing or very less in return. Moreover, many do try to manipulate and push the naive onto a path that is not truly beneficial. Such individuals should be condemned. In contrast, what sets true spiritual teachers apart is that they never want to change anyone, only to show and point out certain things, to provide directions that can catalyze the inner transformation. Such guidance is in alignment with the individual path that each person treads.
8
I have found out that each of these interweaving paths, ones that I now can trace after study and practice, have something in common. All are interconnected in one way or another, but sometimes, the trail becomes obscured and muddied. I, therefore, want to share a unique perspective on these themes and if this information is helpful or transforming in any way for you, I will be happy. That is also the reason why I don’t want to take any money in advance. I give this book out as a free trial. Simply - if you read it and you will find the information contained inside it as being in some way valuable for you, please make a donation. Money is a way of exchanging energy. I have put a lot of time, energy and effort to learn, gather and write down these thoughts so I think it would be fair. Like everyone, too, I have to provide a living for my family and I have my dreams. I don’t want to propose any fixed sum because for one person $5 would be a lot, and for another person $1,000 is small change. It all depends on you, your material status and how much value you believe you have gained from my book. I ask as well, that if you read it and found that none of the contents resonate with you, before deleting it, please share it with your friends. This knowledge helped me during too many difficult times in my life – and it may be of help to someone else. Thank you. In the future, if time and resources allowed, I’m considering writing the second part where all the future feedback and questions of the readers will be gathered and answered in another interview.

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

INTRODUCTION Last month I was obliged to do an interview with one of the famous so-called spiritual teachers. I wouldn’t call myself a religious person despite the fact that I used to go to church with my mom when I was young. Yet, I indistinctly remember that sometimes I had these feelings of awe, these feelings of being connected to something bigger, feelings that this physical world is not the only one that we live inside every moment of everyday. Later, when I went on to high school I somehow had lost this metaphysical ‘something’ and started to see the world from a different perspective – a scientific one. The world seemed for me to be a mechanism that could be eventually described in total through science. There wasn’t any room for a ‘higher intelligence’ or something like that – everything and everyone was just created by pure coincidence. I really liked this whole idea of world and life being a mere mechanism, because in fact I came to believe that we could ultimately control everything – from the weather and climate, to the genetic destiny of plants and animals - even humans. I was always afraid of the idea of death and I was glad that maybe, one day, scientists will find a way to stop aging and make people immortal. I wanted to be a scientist, but, unfortunately, my math and physics weren’t good enough. However, I discovered that I had a penchant for humanistic subjects, and that led me to the path of becoming a journalist. I, therefore, focused entirely on studying what attracted me most, and in the same time, I had very eventful life. I liked going to parties. At one of these I met my wife. After graduating from the university, I focused entirely on pursuing my career. I got a wonderful job in one of the international journalist agencies and they very often sent me worldwide. I was very happy then. 11
Nevertheless, after two years, I realized that something bad was happening. My wife and I had been married for five years and we had crisis. I started to think that with other women, the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. At the same time, my boss told me that he had to transfer me to another department – instead of getting a promotion, I was downgraded. Now my work was only to do interviews with sometimes very strange people in the United States - people who made some sort of newsworthy success. I hated the work. I hated going and talking with celebrity chefs or people who wrote books on how to train your dog – people of five minutes of fame and instant wealth. I missed travelling to the dangerous regions of the world. I missed looking for and finding the big stories. Beyond this, my wages were cut almost by half and that only deepened my frustration. Every time I got home I was a bundle of nerves. My wife finally told me that she didn’t see a future for us anymore. She just packed her baggage and left. At that point in my life, I realized I was a mere puppet, a cork bobbing about in a great river. Yet too, I did begin to get an inkling that the outside reality was only a reflection of my own inner world. This was troubling. I started to drink - and to do little else -watching TV all day, eating pizzas, lying about unshaven, unkempt. My health got worse. I blamed the entire world for what was happening to me. So huge was my hatred that I decided to commit suicide. I remember that day very well - April 23th – when I looked at the clock, it showed 21:37. At that very moment, the one in which I reached for a whole packet of drugs and intended to wash them down with an entire bottle of rot gut, I got an email. That was my boss. It said: “Tomorrow you have a special task - you have to fill in for George – he got sick and you have to do an interview with Dan Harrison. He is a very famous writer and his books - concern subjects such as spiritual development, how to find peace and happiness, build ideal relationships, get rich – are bestsellers. Remember - don’t 12
be late! Be here at 10:00 - in my office and I’ll give you further information. I thought to myself – “Hmm, I could try to talk to this guy, I’ll listen to what he has to say and then I’ll kill myself.” – I was in a state that I just laughed at the hopelessness of my situation. That evening, I decided not to take those drugs. Instead the main course was the side dish – that entire bottle of whisky. The next day, the rays of the sun streaming through my window woke me up. I barely managed to stagger upright due to my terrible hangover. It was 7:30 in the morning and as I had chosen that day to be my last day on this planet, I tried to live it a bit differently. Instead of letting myself take a nap for another two hours, I put some effort into crawling slowly to the kitchen and making some coffee and sandwiches. There was something inside me that was a little curious about what that conversation may bring about but the other part of me was purely skeptical. That day I didn’t take the bus as usual, but, instead, got to work by foot. For one thing, I doubted that I would survive the trip. For another, it was a warm, beautiful April morning. I set off from home at 9:00 and got to work at 9:50, making my boss surprised – in the last while, I was regularly five minutes late getting in… if not more…but you see, my wish in these final hours of my lifetime was to leave a good impression. He gave me details of the job, saying that this man had an international success as a writer and as a musician. Indeed, my boss went on, he had published five books that purportedly changed the entire lives of many people around the globe. My task was to ask him questions and later make short notes about his teachings because my boss wanted to use these as a special addition to our magazine.
13
I took a train to some hick town that laying way off in the nearby countryside, and then I walked a few miles. By the time 3 o’clock rolled around, I stood outside a magnificent villa surrounded by a huge garden. The red Ferrari parked in the drive immediately caught my sight. “This man must have such a wonderful lifestyle. Maybe I could get something like that in the next lifetime.” – I was trying to ease myself of these feelings of anger and jealous inside me. My thoughts went on – “Why are people calling him spiritual teacher? If he is one, shouldn’t he live on some desert or in some solitary monastery or some abbey? Maybe he just created some sophisticated kind of sect that conned many people into following?” I rang the intercom, and, after a moment, the gate opened. I walked inside and slowly turned towards the main door. There stood a man about his thirties, well-built, brown short hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans, and he welcomed me with smile saying “hello”. Firstly, I thought maybe I had mistaken the address, but I glanced at the number on the wall and it was right. Dan was nothing that I expected – nothing like what I thought of how a spiritual teacher should look like. He was just like a regular guy on the street. “Please come on in” – he said - “You must be Mike Khan, the journalist.” There was something about his presence that I couldn’t describe. Suddenly my blue funk had just evaporated and I didn’t know how or where. My jealousy, anger and even resentment had turned into curiosity. “Let’s go to the patio. We have wonderful weather today so we can sit and breathe the fresh air.” – Dan said and added – “Would you like something to drink? Would you prefer coffee or tea? “ 14
“Coffee would be great” – I answered. He showed me the way to the patio. We strolled through the spacious living room with its wide windows that allow a lot of light to float inside. We then went through a door to the other side of the house. We stepped out onto a large patio with a view out towards the garden. “Could you wait for a minute, I’ll just get our coffee.” “Yes, of course.” Having been left alone, I glanced towards the garden and noted how smoothly it was designed. Small avenues crisscrossed each other therein, and there was a tiny pond in the centre. Moreover, a large variety of trees and flowers climbed up into the sky. I thought that my gardening friends would applaud. Still, there was something about this place - like it was being charged with some kind of energy, and it was definitively a positive one. The thoughts about ending my life were still circulating, but they were dimmed a little. Dan returned after 10 minutes with two cups of coffee and some cookies. “I just have made them I hope you like them” – he said, smiling happily. I took one and ask: “Thanks and if you don’t mind I would like to use a recorder?” “Ok, no problem”. “I must admit that you are nothing what I expected. You are so normal despite what the rumors say about you.” “And what do they say exactly?” “That you’re some kind of a spiritual teacher.” 15
Dan chuckled and asked: “And what is your image of such person?” I: “They are kind and helpful. They are calm in the face of fears and distraction. They emanate peace and compassion. What is more, you sort of say that they just know how to love everyone.” Dan: “In fact you just describe a mythological saint, but this is far from what spiritual person is. Even in total darkness, a spiritual person finds the way to discover light. They are truth seekers, neither truth tellers nor saints. They are just like ordinary humans, but they discovered within themselves their true nature and they find ways to share this with the world. They have the same weaknesses as every ordinary man, but the difference is they made a conscious choice to try to conquer them no matter how many times they fail. They are like a phoenix who rises from ashes every time it gets burnt.” “As my person is concerned I do not like the title of spiritual teacher being foist upon me. I’m just a man who discovered a way to achieve the life that he desires despite negative outside circumstances. This way is an ancient internal technology. This is a something that everyone of us knows but which is hidden inside us, and, in many cases, it is not plugged in or switched on. When we start using it, we become like the age-old alchemist who could transform their lives in magical ways.”
16
CHAPTER I THE NATURAL SELF INTERNAL TECHNOLOGY I: “What is that internal technology?” Dan: “It is something that is powered by human emotions. It allows us to control and use them to our benefit. You see, on the outside, we have achieved mastery in almost every field of our lives. We can create magnificent external technology – machines that can take over nearly every aspect of our everyday existence and can help us in doing whatever we want to do. But in the matter of our internal world – our internal technology, almost nothing has changed.” “We still have difficulty in dealing with negative emotions and feelings. This internal technology is the way to transform them, and in this way, achieve the life of our desires. Nowadays, people often try to solve their emotional problems by way of the wrong - the external - route. This way is superficial, and temporary. It only eases the pain and doesn’t deal with the problem itself.” ”Science is now showing us that there is such a thing as the Universal Field, an Intelligent Field that we can converse with and which will respond to us but only to our emotions. This field is like a mirror that reflects back to us, our lives - what we have given to the universe. In learning how to hold a conversation with it, can we literally alter our reality.” “Look, there is a division in the world that has been coming together for some time and this mending is what we need now. Here in the Western world, we become masters of external technology - we project our nature into the physical world. The machines we created are taking us over. This situation is both good and bad. In general our lives are becoming easier. From the 17
production of food, to even the most detailed examination of the natural and physical world…it is now possible, but we are missing something. It is like we see one side of a two-sided coin. Like being only the yin in the yin and yang symbol. This that we know, we call ‘the male side’. But to express our full potential, we have to blend the yin with the yang, the male side with the female side.” “It is like an analogy where the female side - the internal - is represented by the Eastern world. They have access to this incredible internal technology that works and was design to deal with our emotional problems – transmuting these negative energies into positive. This is why many people nowadays in the Western world seek solutions to their problems in the religions or spiritual paths of the Eastern – among them, Buddhism or Zen. These are the ones based on the internal world of intuition and emotions. They are centered in the heart, whereas our western religions are based on theological doctrines that are centered in the mind.” “Don’t get me wrong here, this division is not as one hundred to one hundred. For example, in Buddhism there is also a philosophy based on the mind, and in Christianity, there is also a place for emotions and for higher states of being. I’m painting just with a broad brush, a general picture of these two realms of religions and of where the main focus lies. That is also the reason why in the West there were so many religion wars because the male side is more dominating and aggressive, while female is more passive and withdrawn.” “On the other hand, despite the fact that in the East, they have magnificent ways and techniques in dealing with the internal – with the problems and negative emotions, that lay within us, they don’t have as much external technology as we here in the West. Their lives often suffer on the physical plane and are often dominated by poverty. Now these two worlds are blending. I believe that melding 18
together these two worlds will be the ultimate expression of who we truly are.” “This blending can be also perceived on the individual – the single human plane. Look, the female energy has been oppressed and withdrawn from our lives for too long and now is the time to return to that energy. It is also why woman are becoming more and more significant, for example, in the role of political leaders. Woman are now becoming full in their potential, they are returning to being at the same level as man. This is what happening on the individual plane - men are discovering their feminine side, while women their male side.” I: “Are you suggesting that men have to become effeminate? And the women man-like, strong and hard?” Dan: “No, no. It is not about changing roles. These energies should be balanced, but not exchanged. It happens sometimes, and it results, for example, in a man who becomes effeminate. This is also not good. Nature has given an obvious role for woman and man and this shouldn’t be changed.” “Looking from the positive, when we develop the opposite energies and when we keep them in balance, we would live in a better relationship, because we would have better understanding of the other sex, and it would also improve other aspects of our lives. We are living in extraordinary times and now as never before, we have great potential and opportunity to rapidly develop our internal technology.” I:” Why is that, what has changed?” Dan: “One of the reason is that our external technology has enabled us to do so. The Internet is one of the best ways of seeking and finding information and knowledge. What is more, for most of the world, it is free of censorship. Video conferences, hyper-speed 19
communication, instant messaging – all this is possible just by one click of a mouse… an external machine.” “Moreover, we are living in the times when human consciousness is rising as fast as never. This too is a major factor. It was predicted, for example, in Mayan Civilization, that we are approaching the end of one of the great cycles in the history of our planet. Many people fear this prediction, but it has definitely a positive meaning. The end of time means only the end of perceiving time as we know. It is happening now and we sense that time is speeding up. Our life experiences scoot by faster, year by year, yet in this progress, we must not forget about our emotions, internal balance and inward development.”
THE NATURAL SELF I: “Ok but where to start, how to learn to use that technology?” Dan: “By trying to re-discover your natural self.” I: “What do you mean to re-discover your natural self?” Dan: “I mean to re-discover our natural, true, first impression…the innocent, the genuine, the ‘filled with love and childish curiosity’ ways we once had. Our natural self is a natural observer behind the body, the mind, behind our emotions and ego. It is where the balance is achieved between male and feminine energy. A good indicator of the fact that you have discovered your natural self is when you can be at peace and be calm regardless of outside circumstances. It is like gaining your degree in the master class which is life-long experience as a denizen of the planet Earth.” “Look, we have been taught throughout lives that we are a possession - we belong to this country, this nation, this family, that we speak this or that language, or that we been raised in the one or the other culture. All these owners influence our beliefs. Yes, deep inside, passed the unconscious level, we have been programmed. When we 20
manage to override these programs, the veil before our eyes fades and we can see more clearly the picture of reality. We no longer identify ourselves with those beliefs that have been stuffed into us.” “I can picture it for you in this way - look at these two sentences: “I’m a Christian.”…“I’m a man or a woman that professes a belief in Christianity.” There is a big difference in those two statements. In the second, you have the realization that you are human being before you have a belief in something. In that state you will never go to war so as to confront someone’s else’s beliefs.” “I will give you an example of what happens when you have overridden these programs – firstly, with regard to the sensors. These are soft-wired…you see a man on a street…the sensors pick up that the man’s skin is a different color. They raise a red flag – this man is dangerous! And you have behave accordingly. This happens only because they’ve been taught to do so. They are programmed to raise that flag. Now, with self-awareness, you can override the signal. The message relayed by them does not affect you in the same way. You see, it is not the difference between man and fellow man that makes us detest each other or go to the war against our kind, it is what we believe with regard to those differences.” “Upon garbaging out all the beliefs that have been stuffed into you, you are then able to see that you need something to be sad, but nothing to be happy - I really like this sentence. Happiness, peace and content is our natural state and can be found only inside us. Making them conditional on any of outside circumstances is a common mistake that we make.” “Don’t get me wrong – I’m not trying to say that you have to abandon your religion. Beliefs and traditions are very important and I’m of the opinion that our cultural interests and those of other different cultures should be cultivated and can coexist together, but peacefully without pre-judgment as to which one is better.” 21
“Finding your natural, true self is not about deleting beliefs, it is about rearranging them. When you put them aside for even just a little while, you will be able to see them from a different perspective, from a distance. Then, you would see how they work and you can choose which one you are willing to buy into.” “People are often afraid of hypnosis, but we are all have been deeply and unconsciously hypnotized simply by those beliefs we hold, by mass media and by many other things. When you get to the point where you see reality from the viewpoint of your natural self, without relying on any filters and falsely programmed sensors, you will be resistant to any and all hypnosis.”
MEDITATION I: “How we can do that? Is there any technique to make that discovery possible?” Dan: “Yes, there are many ways and you have to find out which is the best for you. Meditation, for example, is tailor-made for raising and developing our consciousness. To make this more clearer - I like the analogy that our natural self is a clear sky, and when thoughts arrive, they are like clouds. The more thoughts, the more cloudy is the sky. Eventually, you go through your life never seeing a clear sky - only layer upon layer of storm clouds. Your sky is cloudy also when you identify yourself only with your physical body.” “Meditation is used to get rid of those clouds and very often is misperceived. People think, for example, that when you meditate, you are to sit all day in one uncomfortable position and to emit some magical and mystifying sound. Yes, that is one of the many ways of meditating, but it is an approach suitable only for those who resonate with it.”
22
“Meditation is also often mistakenly taken as a synonym for concentration or contemplation, but to clear this up – meditation is exactly the opposite of concentration, while contemplation is half-way between both. Concentration is very useful in science – here the mind is sharply aware. It is focused on a particular observation or activity. When we concentrate, we forget about the outside world, the power within our minds is directed only into one direction. In this state, we are not relaxed because we are undertaking intellectual action.” “In contemplation, we are a bit more relaxed. Contemplation means thinking about some topic, and doing so from a variety of different angles. The mind here is, in turn, both active and relaxed. Meditation lies on the opposite extreme to concentration – beyond contemplation. It is more like a state of being than an action in itself. It is a state of being wherein we are totally relaxed and the mind is still.” “During concentration, our consciousness is focused and narrowed. In meditation, consciousness expands, we become aware of more and more things in our surroundings, yet, at the same time, we accept them just as they are. We are acknowledging that everything we see, hear, smell, feel, taste is divine and come from the Source itself. This acknowledgment has a positive effect, not only on our consciousness, intelligence and brains, but also on our bodies. When we are totally relaxed and filled with positive emotions, our stress levels are reduced to a minimum, and our bodies are in an appropriate state for healing themselves – physically, mentally and emotionally.” “The one goal of meditation is to be more aware of those ‘clouds’ in your sky, because when you are more aware, the more control you gain over them. They don’t stay in your sky any longer. They’re like visitors, just floating through it. If you are not giving them energy consciously, they just simply emerge from, say, your 23
left, and disappear off to the right. They do not accumulate and build up into a billowing, grey, angry mass of storm clouds. With practice, you are even able to generate your own clouds – beautiful ones; for instance – by way of visualizing peace in the world, or of a magnificent lifestyle for yourself and your family. This then can become reality. The ability to control thoughts is the one of the key skills in creating the life that you want.” “It is important to be aware that meditation is the state of having your personal clear, blue sky, one which we can return to when we undergo any sort of activity. Through this return, our actions take on a new dimension. Looking at it from this perspective - meditation is not an activity, it is rather, having a meditative mind, because we can be in that state while doing something or while just sitting and relaxing.” “I want to add that the first look of that clear blue sky can be a tremendous experience - especially for people who previously never had any sort of spiritual belief. It is like making a reconnection with the Universe, like a re-awakening, or to be exact, a re-remembering of who you are - that you are part of something bigger and more profound. It is what is called in ancient texts – ‘enlightenment’ - but I really don’t like that word, because it has in its meaning, something great, big, out of this world. It really isn’t something that is out of this world, rather it is a re-connection to the genuine world as it is.” “This re-connection is like an awakening from a long slumber. If your sleep was very deep, the awakening will be like a huge shock. Truly, you are just remembering who you actually are and always were. For some people, this realization comes like a tornado or a hurricane, and for some just like a small blow of wind filling up every atom of their being. This re-connection is different for everyone, because everyone is different and has his or her own path of growth.” 24
“People often think that this remembering is the final goal to be achieved in a life, but I’m of the opinion that this is only one of the greater goals that can be achieved. It is definitively not the final one. Life after this experience is just starting not ending. It is not like a trip to a never-ending state of Nirvana. We are all interconnected, so what is happening to others, is happening to us at some level. So it is our duty and responsibility to help others and show how they may clear their own grey skies and return them to blue, and therefore, to achieve this delightful state of bliss. Then you can go on to reach out for the things in life that you desire – to just enjoying this magnificent physical world and all the goods that men created and Nature supplies.”
SOLITUDE I: “How can we do that if we are afraid of being alone? We just don’t want to be alone. We’re always trying to escape from our loneliness, not to mention setting a journey towards our inner self.” Dan: “Good point. There is always something in our lives that keep us away from our natural, true selves. This may be the noise from a radio, the blather and bluster of Reality TV, meeting with friends, surfing the internet, becoming lost in our work, interacting with family. Don’t get me wrong, some of these life style choices can be very positive, and we genuinely need some of such activity in our lives, but if someone wants to discover his or her inner world, this trip into solitude must be taken. This doesn’t mean that you need to go away alone for a week or a month into the mountains, but if you resonate with that idea - just do it!” “My advice for people who have their job, career and their family obligations to attend to – whether willingly or unwillingly - is to find at least - 15 minutes a day – a half hour would be better - to be only with yourself. Lock yourself up somewhere in your house, or go to the park or forest. Turn off the phone, computer or radio and just be alone with yourself.” 25
“Solitude is a place wherein we learn about our connection to the divine, about the unconditional love that flows through us, about how perfectly we are interwoven into the infinite and the eternal mosaic of life.” “Many people fear being alone just simply because they fear the unknown. They don’t know what or who they might meet there. But when you go down that path you can be only positively surprised.” I:”And what shall we do when we are alone?” Dan: ”Breathe…consciously breathe. The act of breathing is the portal to the inner world. In consciously doing so, focus on inhaling, and, later on exhaling. Try to relax your whole body as much as possible. This is the time when beliefs or other thoughts about yourself or about others may emerge. When starting up this practice, there will be whole waterfalls of thoughts. Be with them, just accept them as they are, do not try to fight with them because then you are giving energy to all these thoughts. In being relaxed and still, you will reach a point when you notice that these beliefs and thoughts are not yours, that they are mere visitors travelling into you from society or family. Once you realize this, you can simply drop them.” “This is also the time to forgive - not only the people around us who did us some harm - but it is most important to understand that this is the time to forgive ourselves. Forgiveness takes us into the present moment, into now. Understanding that each and everyone of us has our own unique path of development is a part of forgiving process. This state of being is a place of nonjudgment where we acknowledge that everyone seeks to do some good in their lives, and everyone attempts to do the best they can in whatever they do – as understood through their current state of consciousness. This place is where we can admit that we are not perfect and we make mistakes just as everyone else does, and, 26
more to the point, that it is ok to make them. No matter how hard the lessons were, by entering into this state of being, we are more able and willing to forgive ourselves.” “Then bless them, but not only them - bless yourself and everyone around you, and everything around you. Act of blessing is the best cure for judgment. Send your love to yourself and to everyone around you, and everything around you. In doing so, you will be teleported to a place, to the temple of humbleness where the grey skies become blue even faster than before - as you gain the greater ability to conduct and transmit unconditional love. This is the place where miracles can happen. Later on, I’ll talk more deeply about the notion of forgiveness and understanding. I’ll be doing so when we get to talking about the law of attraction – a subject that is close to my heart – as when this law is used properly, our lives become masterpieces of art.”
THE THREE THINGS Dan: “Let me picture this getting to your natural self. In doing so, you need to discern three things. The first you can accomplished by practicing meditation. This clears your inner sky from grey clouds of invading thoughts. It is, in other words, the act of realizing that you are not thoughts - they are creation of your mind and you are not them.” “The second is the realization of your body. This will be easier to do with a clear mind, because, then, you have control over thoughts, and you can focus on what is needed. Look at your hand, move it…then do the same with your foot. Try to look at them as if from a distance - as if you were only an observer that controls your body, as if you were ground control manipulating a planetary probe – your body from afar. Then, you’ll see that the body is in actuality a beautiful space craft needed to allow you to experience and explore physical reality. In doing this right, you 27
gain the perspective that also you are not your body. You are the observer behind your body who controls it.” “The third one is very subtle because it concerns the act of discerning emotion. You may say that it very simple to perceive whether you are happy or sad, but this discernment go deeper. In attempting this, try to be aware how your emotions change through your day and then try to find out the reason for each change. You have to discover how thoughts are connected and are responsible for creating the emotional states within yourself. This discernment also concerns how your beliefs and sensors or filters of reality influence the process of creating emotions. Gaining mastery in thoroughly discerning emotions gives you more awareness and control over them, and this is needed in order to create the most desirable states of emotional being for manifesting the things that you want in life.” “But there is another purpose of discerning emotions. In doing this, you also gain the perspective that you are not them. To recount, you will see that you are not these three things: your body, your thoughts and your emotions. Instead you will realize that you are only an unbiased observer of these items, and this observer is your true natural self. Realization of this notion is a very helpful tool in the undertaking of this inner journey.” “It is like being in a crowded, noisy marketplace - where everyone is speaking, screaming, pushing and shoving – say on Black Friday or on Boxing Day. You are in the middle of it, but you are no longer a participant of it – of course, you may be, but now you have a choice. Even while being in the middle of a storm, you simply become a detached observer of what is taking place around you, and while doing so, you then reach out to grasp and hold onto only the events that you wish to be part of.”
28
GOD, RELIGION AND PERMISSION SLIPS I: “Ok, you’ve spoken about meditation and what it is, but I want to ask here, where is the place of religion in this scheme? What about God? I don’t get the concept you are talking of.” Dan: “I would like to present my own point of view with respect to religious beliefs. I have devoted a lot of time in my life towards studying these concepts, not only intellectually, but also practically. I was raised in the Catholic religion, and I used to believe that we need an intermediary in order to talk with God. Later, this point of view no longer resonated with me. I started searching for something else, and this search led me to a point where I got this experience that changed my life entirely, a vision of the world, just everything.” “I made a connection or it was like a re-connection to something bigger - my natural, true self. I discovered that I have a temple inside me – indeed, everyone has a temple inside them in which a direct connection to the Source is possible. I felt like I was everything and everything was me, and that all was bathed in universal unconditional love. I saw that I was a spirit that had decided to have a physical experience, not a human that was having a spiritual experience. This whole experience was so profound and overwhelming. It was like I was inside another dimension of reality. This state of re-connection was so strong, that later, I couldn’t remember much from it, but what remained was enough to completely change my life.” “I understood that God, Creator, Infinite Intelligence or however you call it, exists everywhere. No place is excluded and religious beliefs are forms of permission slips that help us to reconnect to the One. Permission slip is a belief that resonates within the individual and allows that person to bring about a certain result by acting upon that belief. Simply, if you believe in something to be true, it will be true for you - and it will work for you. This 29
doesn’t may necessarily mean that it will work for someone else. But it must be a strong and genuine belief that resonates with you. If you feel intuitively that some religion or spiritual path is for you - you should certainly go by that path, and if by any means you start to no longer resonate with it - you should change it.” “The end of resonance with some path means that you have changed or grown. After this, you may seek and find another kind of ritual or prayer or other form of permission slip and it will start working for you due to the match in frequencies between you and this permission slip. Later, for example, in the year to come, when you have developed and expanded your consciousness, this permission slip is voided - it will no longer work for you and you will be attracted to another permission slip.” “The key point here is recognition of this process because people often fear that if one point in their lives they feel that they need to change their beliefs - it is something wrong or bad. But it may be just the opposite – this feeling is the indicator that you are growing spiritually. This growth may also mean becoming a so-called ‘atheist’ because there are some people who need just exactly this point of view to compel them to embark upon a quest towards gaining a bigger picture of the spiritual realms.” “Generally there is no such a thing as bad or negative path. The question is – is the path chosen relevant for you in your current state of development? One person could walk his entire life down the path of one religion, while other could walk down the paths of five different religions, in meantime, meandering off to become an atheist, and perhaps, doubling back to find yet one more path, and these sets of paths is what is needed. One individual could find his connection to the Source in Christianity while another will that in Buddhism. There is no such a rule to follow one route alone, so we should fully accept other choices. Perhaps, the path followed for awhile is the wrong one for growing, but even so, a path chosen willfully is still a path that offers learning.” 30
“We can look at religions from the analogy of a prism. The received white light could be described as the Source, and when it comes through the prism and is split into different colors, these colors are religions. Each one is an aspect of the universal whole. So, while one individual may like a red or a blue, the blue is no better than the red…sadly, when someone dogmatically says so, we have war. This makes no sense when you look onto it from this perspective.” “Each religion is a way of seeing a single one Creator or Infinite Intelligence, the difference is merely in the wave length of light that is split away. None are lesser or greater. But when we study not just one wave length of light, but the many other wave lengths of light, we gain a greater understanding of the original beam – the white light of the One. We get more holistic concept – we are starting to see the pure white light. Of course, here in our physical bodies we will never fully understand this bizarre white light, we can only get a little closer to discerning and understanding it. On the other hand, the rainbow of diverse colors makes our world more wonderful. Upon being able to recognize that the white light and the rainbow are the same, only in different forms, we will understand more cohesively the concept of how the Creator is manifested in thousand different countenances.” “Nature truly appreciates paradoxes – look at light. This is at the same time, a wave and a set of physical particles – photons. How it is seen, reflects how it is behaved, and how it is behaved reflects how it is seen. Quantum physics states that there is no such thing as an objective world and we cannot simply examine and study our world from a distance - as the old school of science said. We are active participants in it, and every act of measurement changes the outcome. So there cannot be such a thing as an objective result. Quantum physics also says that reality exists in a million different possibilities at the same time. Our consciousness viewpoint determines one of the possible outcomes. This powerful notion provides evidence that there is no such thing as predestination. 31
We can consciously create and manifest our physicality by our awareness.” I: “Can you talk a little more about permission slips?” Dan: “This notion of permission slip also has impact upon many other issues. For instance, there are many different techniques in meditating, but we should choose the one which resonates best with us. There is no such thing as the best technique – the sole one way to an end. Some people need only to practice conscious deep breathing, others need to visualize or recite some chosen phrase, while others need dynamic meditation.” “I like to play with permission slips. Let’s look on the common superstitions. These are also permissions slips. When a black cat crosses someone’s road, some think that they will have bad luck. If this believe is strong enough, guess what? They certainly will encounter misfortune. I like playing with that idea – every time a black cat crosses my road, I smile and I say that I will have good luck in whatever I do. And I’m not doing this only with black cats, but with all the cats I meet with! I encourage you to look at all the common superstitions in your life and have fun with them.” “When you come across someone who says that he has the best and proper way of doing something, this always means that this is the approach that works for him. It is not necessarily the approach that will work for you. This message is also directed to the paths offered by the greatest spiritual teachers in our history. Some people may resonate with the teachings of Jesus, some with Buddha, some with Krishna or Mahomet. I discovered that their teachings may seem different, but in their core, all are the same. The message depends on the interpretation.” “The quote of Buddha underlines that very well: “Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. 32
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” “One of my goals is to trigger a desire to explore spirituality in all its dimensions, regardless of religious choice, because religion is believing in someone’s else experience, whereas spirituality is experiencing this world by yourself. I’m not condemning any religion, just encouraging all to discover this world, not only by believing, but also by studying, exploring and experiencing. When you gain this knowledge by direct experience, the whole concept of spirituality will be of a totally different quality.” “Spirituality may be found through following your own chosen religion alone, but look how many people truly try to develop that field of life. They go to church on Sundays, and then do nothing. To grow is a conscious decision, to become a better human being, a better transmitter of divine love no matter what our background is – is a conscious choice. It is a quest that lasts life-long, not only in the few moments when we pray. The real art is to head through life as if life itself was a prayer.” “Here, to bring about a better understanding of the concept that everything is one, I will chose another analogy, that of water. Look…when water is in a high state of vibration, it means it is being heated. The atoms of water vibrate, moving very fast. With still more applied energy, water becomes vapor - steam. This steam can be use to move one about, prepared food and nourish an empty tummy or just simply – it becomes a cloud.” “When the temperature of this vapor decreases, it becomes water again – it returns to a liquid state. When the temperature drops 33
still farther, the water solidifies and becomes ice. Here, the rate of vibration is still much lower. Steam is hot, while ice is cold and solid - but it is water – the same thing with different state of being. Now, we can expand this concept and imagine that all things are made from the same building blocks - with almost an infinite number of states and frequencies of vibration.” “When you look at steam, liquid water and ice, you cannot say at first sight that they are the same. You can touch them, and they are totally different textures, but if we had analyzed them, we would find out that they are exactly the same at the most fundamental level.” “When I reached this state of connection to everything, I, being Christian, started to perceive the words of Jesus in a completely different way. From my perspective and understanding, Jesus, in his teachings, meant that we should seek this connection to his and our Father – the One. He is the way – what means - he is showing the way in which we can reach that state. He reveals that the temple is inside us. We don’t have to look any further…that if we don’t die, we won’t be born again. This means that sometimes the discovery of our natural self would be felt as the death of our ego – our former self - and it is described in this way in many texts. This depends on the subjective perceiving of things and the language that is used.”
EGO I:” So what about ego? Does this state of higher being come only with the death of ego? Isn’t this what most people are afraid of?” Dan: “Our egos are a very necessary component of ourselves, in order for us to experience physical reality. The thing that matters is whether we live inside our ego or we transcend it. Through transcending our egos, we learn to have a dialogue with them, and instead of being our enemy, they become our best ally. But 34
this transition must be made peacefully. Going to a war with our egos, we only worsen the situation.” “Our egos are, in a sense, entities. We can make deals with them. We have to learn how to negotiate with then. When they are positively motivated, they will serve us well and rule over our physical bodies in the best manner possible. Then, we will the presence of our egos all the time, yet, as their presence is serving us, we feel rejuvenated, happy and joyful. From the moment that we have in our lives all which we had wished for, our egos become fulfilled and content, so we and our egos constitute an ideal symbiosis.” “Our job is to bring about a partnership between you and your ego so that everyone can benefit from it. Instead of trying to kill or destroy this ego, send it unconditional love and be thankful to it for doing the job that it was designed to do. Your ego is a part of you - so why try to kill a part of you when that part can be used positively? I think the notion of destroying the ego is a most common misconception. By trying to destroy our egos, we also create a self-defensive mechanism within them. They will hold onto anything that will prolong their existence, and this struggle for dominance will result in a loss of energy.” “In forgetting about our natural selves and about being natural observers, we let the ego take control us and we live completely in its realm. We then perceive the world as from its viewpoint alone. In being dominated by our egos, we forget that we are not only physical bodies, but also spiritual beings. When living in that state, we, in turn, compel our egos to act as they were not intended to do. For example, to find ways to manifest things or to understand and experience spirituality. For such tasks, we have our true self and higher mind.” “When we discovered our natural selves, we are capable of perceiving the ego as only a part of us and not the whole. When we reach this stage in our development, we experience our 35
spirituality by way of our true self. The higher mind finds ways to manifest things and to give us clues as to how to do that, and our egos – our physical minds – are the receivers and doers. This is exactly how intuition works – it is a channel between the higher mind and the physical mind where the ego dwells.” “You cannot kill the ego – doing so is impossible – and it would mean the end of your physical experience. When we start meditating or using other systems to see the ego from the outside – we are telling our egos that we are trying to remove the clouds from our skies. Moreover, we are informing our egos that we are attempting to discover our natural selves and that it will be, in turn, of great benefit for both our true natural selves and our egos. When we learn how to constitute a dialogue between ourselves and our egos, our egos will no longer be an obstacle for discovering our true selves.“ “I mentioned earlier that one of our greatest fears is being alone. We always attempt to escape from this situation. This fear is also one of the tricks that ego employs to maintain its dominance. We must realize that for our betterment, we have to undertake that dialogue with our egos and go on that trip into solitude and step out of our comfort zones. We are beings that don’t like changes in our lives - we fear change – deeming it disruption. However, it is through changes that growth and development occurs. Now, let’s talk about these comfort zones.”
THE COMFORT ZONE Dan: “A place called the ‘comfort zone’ exists in everyone of us. Yet, often it is the main obstacle preventing us from achieving what we truly want in our lives. We hide in our little shells waiting for the world to come to us. But we must go out into the world – we must try different things, visit many diverse places, talk with different people, try different hobbies and find out what excites us 36
the most in life. In fact, we need to be spontaneous, creative and sometimes even crazy.” “Some of us are blessed with talents and gifts. Some of us are fortune to know from birth what their true passions in life are. Yet, too many people have to go on a quest to find these. The moment this is done, we must go with all our might with that flow, and then, we will be fulfilled as never before experiencing true happiness.” “Getting out of the comfort zone means we have defeated and overcome our fears – we have learned to treat any obstacles as challenges. In getting out of comfort zones, we gain opportunity to build up that invincible courage that will allow us to meet and surmount all challenges. No one is fearless from birth - this feature of character is gained only by stepping out of the comfort zone.”
THE MEANING OF LIFE I: “We brought up the themes of God, Religion, Ego but what does life mean for you personally? What is the meaning of life? As you must be aware, this is one of the phrases that are most often googled these days.” Dan: “Existence is constantly growing, evolving, changing, expanding, building newer and greater forms of life. It happens through evolution. Yet, evolution is not a concept separate from spirituality and reserved only for science, in fact, it is just the opposite - evolution is a natural expression of the divine. Once this beautiful planet where we live, didn’t exist, but now thanks to this cosmic experiment of creation, look, how magnificent the Earth was created in one of a milliards planets.” “To live means to grow, to learn, to expand. When we embark upon on a path of higher excitement, it is the path of growth. We are doing what we love in life and we are shining examples to 37
others. On the other hand, when we are living in fear, we are not in alignment with our true selves. We feel bad and this feeling is a hidden sign delivered by our higher mind. Even staying still, we are moving backwards - we cannot stop and stay in the same place because the entire universe is constantly expanding. Evolution is not a polar opposite to creation. Both concepts go together.” “Looking at it all from another perspective – life alone is meaningless. What does it mean? That life has no build in meaning – you give it meaning, and it is an extremely powerful concept because it implies that we are the ultimate creators of our own lives. We have been given the freedom to choose our reality, and even more, we can inspire others to find this freedom in themselves. This ‘meaninglessness’ is what enables dreams come true. This is how the unconditional love of the universe works – we are so unconditionally loved that we have even a choice to believe that we have been forgotten, separated, left alone and not unconditionally loved.”
FREE WILL Dan: “Try to imagine such a picture - The Infinite Intelligence had only one perspective in the beginning. With time and development, It wanted to know Its creation from a different angel. This yearning caused that myriads of diverse life forms were created. All were given free will in exchange for the unique perspectives they offer. In this way, The Source may not only experience creation through Its own eyes, but also through the eyes of all its creations, and that is a very unique perspective due to the their free will. Each life form has the possibility to choose how it wishes to live its life. Therefore, there cannot be such thing as punishment or eternal Hell, because then the experience of an individual would be no longer be unique and original.” “Yes, we often experience things like punishment, but that is only self imposed. The universe is like a mirror, and if we do things 38
that are wrong in a given situation or if we violate some other entity’s free will, it will be reflected back to us. This reflection can come immediately or after some time, and it can display many diverse forms.” “This is also known as the Law of Karma…but as I mentioned before, such a thing as Karma doesn’t exist - objectively. ‘Karma” is only created and imposed by ourselves for certain purposes – to learn. Karma is also a form of permissions slip. The moment we realize this, is the moment we are freed from this concept.” A universal moral code, as such, also does not exists. There is no book of rules in this universe, a book which contain all the possible solutions for each situation – because among other issues, a chosen behavior can be very wrong in some circumstances while the same action could be the best choice of approach in another. This is why we have intelligence. When we are able to see beyond our beliefs, reality is no longer being filtered through any of them. We can see much more clear and our cloudless sky is the place where intelligence dwells.” “Of course, we do inwardly recognize that a few rules were built inside us and we feel it because of the unconditional love that flows through all of us. When we are connected to the Source, we feel that we cannot impose our will on others, or do them harm and so on. We recognize that we want to serve others because we know that we are all one, and when we send love, it multiplies, and is then return to us.”
SUFFERING I: “So, suffering comes only from those clouds in our sky?” Dan: “Exactly. You may choose to believe me or not, but this notion is just as simple as you describe. Yet those clouds may have a thousand different countenances. For example, one cloud could 39
be the belief of our unworthiness, the belief that we have to suffer bad karma, or that we don’t deserve something that is positive. A person who is proficient in practicing some kind of meditation is able to recognize and understand the source of more and more these clouds. Simply speaking, this recognition is enough to stop pumping energy into them. This is like an art, a modern form of alchemy. Contemporary alchemists are the masters of diverting energy into the paths that they prefer eliminating self-imposed suffering, and, therefore, creating the life of their dreams. What is more, the highest mastery of alchemy is when you can show others how to do so. I think that this the most important responsibility of those who discovered it.” I: “But the world often bombards us with negativity and with realities that we don’t want or desire. I mean no-one had the possibility to choose the family or the place where he or she was born.” Dan: “Maybe that is true. Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter where you grow up or in what times you live. For those who yearn to grow, there is always a way of doing so. I’m a good example. I did have a very tough childhood, but I promised to myself that I never gave up, no matter how hard my life would be.” “Getting back to the notion of suffering, let’s look at it from a different perspective. Look, there can be only development, progress. In nature, there is no such thing as stagnation. Stagnation means that you are moving backwards, because the whole universe is constantly growing, and when you are not doing anything to learn, or to grow, simply standing in one place, you are, in reality moving backwards. This self-imposed idleness, also induces discomfort or suffering. That’s why stepping out of your comfort zone is an important skill to learn.” “When you are learning and moving forward, you feel empowered and joyful. These are the indicators and the frequencies where 40
you true self dwells. ‘Learning’ means undertaking such activities as losing weight, improving relationships, exercising more, developing a hobby or just simply meditating more often. Look, notice how children are willing to learn about everything and how they are full of energy – this energy comes from their innocent curiosity.” “The great thing is that we all have that possibility – the potential to light this fire even if we are old. Age is of no matter here. Sometimes only the will is necessary, for example, to get our ass off the couch and away from TV set and go for a stroll, or set out to reconnect with Nature, or to try to read something interesting like mind-expanding books, or to just stop and smell the roses. Haven’t you noticed that some twenty-something people are as internally old as if they were at least fifty? I’m sure you know some fifty-somethings who have more energy, enthusiasm and vitality than teenagers.” “But, remember, we must realize that we cannot know everything or be perfect - because this is simply impossible. There is no such a thing as being perfect – because if were this so, evolution ends. This is the beauty of it, because, thanks to the fact that there cannot be perfection - a point where the evolution stops because it has reached its limits - more beautiful and magnificent things can be created. On realizing this concept, we go into that state of ease in which we recognize that we don’t need to know everything. Herein, our ability to learn paradoxically expands because when we are relaxed, we acquire knowledge more faster.” “When you learn or develop some skills, there always will be someone who is of higher or lower knowledge or proficiency in some field than you. So there is no need to try to always be on the highest rung on that ladder. I’m not saying it is wrong to compete – just the opposite – it can generate motivation. But it must be in a positive form – not as a deadly rat race or in an adversarial, underhanded manner. Such a state is certainly not to our benefit. 41
The wisdom of growing is to fully acknowledge and accept the point where you are in at the moment. When you are happy and content with that, and, from that point onwards, start to compete in a positive way, to do your best, then you may find that you will soon be on a higher rung of that ladder then you had ever thought ever possible.” “Getting to know this paradox will give us great power and understanding. To state this clearly, this paradox is that everything is already perfect, and, at the same time, is constantly developing and aspiring to be more perfect. There is beauty in this state of stasis, because there is no need for fight to determine who is better, and at this same time, there can be growth and healthy competition.” I: “But what about the events in our life that we cannot control, for instance, the death of someone who is close to us?” Dan: “There is a great difference between suffering and sadness. To highlight this, I want to redefine a little these terms. Suffering is something that is caused by you. You have beliefs that you are buying into and they are causing discomfort to you. “Sadness is completely different, it is inevitable and the awareness of it compels you to wave the white flag makes. As you mentioned ,when someone who is close to you dies, you know that you can do nothing about it and this profound sadness comes about. We must understand that it is natural and that sadness is the part of our experience living as humans.” “Having greater awareness of this, ensures that we do not lose ourselves in despair during the tough times that will come into our lives. Instead, we will realize that we can learn from these experiences. Such situations build up our strength and shape our character. They do not make ourselves weaker. Upon raising our consciousness, we become aware that not only can we go even 42
higher and feel more joy and happiness, but also pain and sadness will be felt more deeply.” “To reiterate, the act of getting out of our comfort zone shapes our fearlessness, while these hard moments of our lives makes us stronger and more immune to life’s discomforts.” I: “When talking about sadness, I want to you to ask about depression. I feel like I have been in such a one for some time.” Dan: “To be honest, I don’t see a negative connotation to the word ‘depression’. As with almost everything else in this world, there are some positives that come with this state of being. There is a belief in society that you have to search for happiness, joy and love outside yourself, and when your search brings no results, you are actually trying unconsciously to search for these notions elsewhere. Yet, this is a natural response - when you cannot find something outside, you change direction and try to find it inside. “However, unfortunately, most of us do so unaware. We shut ourselves away, hiding in our homes. We don’t want to talk with people. We feel ashamed because we are not successful. The subconscious indicates us that we should look, maybe, somewhere else…but not everyone endeavors to do so.“ “During depression, we suffer tremendously. Yet, it is possible that this suffering will lead us to a point where we will be forced to say: “Stop, I don’t want to feel this way anymore!” And in this very moment, the mind stops torturing itself. The stormy clouds in our personal sky are removed in as little as a split second. Then that person changes completely. They are reborn! The feel full of energy ! They have a positive attitude! Depression can be a great challenge to overcome, but in pulling down this self-made wall, we discover our true natures. This is very complicated topic and there are different kinds of depression – in as much as there are different kinds of people. Each one will be a different case, but 43
the whole idea behind it stays the same. I like to call it a type of positive egoism.”
POSITIVE EGOISM I: “How can egoism be positive?” Dan:” There is a notion, a belief that in order to be happy, we have to love, help and serve others. I agree with that, but when you do that before your love yourself, there will be something missing, you will not be fulfilled. It seems that most people do not love themselves, yet they still try to love others - it is simply impossible. We are compelled to altruism, but what we practice is not a true altruism. This is because when we are sad or depressed, we really cannot help others. When we look inside ourselves and discover our true selves through which flows unconditional love, we finally understand our whole being. We are fulfilled. This love will overflow, so we then start sharing it naturally, freely, without any cost. W don’t need to, but we do so and expect nothing in return, because we have all that we truly need.” “Let’s look at relationships. Two people – a man and a woman – meet. They feel an attraction, but if they don’t discover love in themselves, how can they be able to love each other? They think and want that partner to fill the emptiness in themselves, but that truly is impossible. Still, they persist – perhaps out of desperation. With time, they will get more and more frustrated why their relationship is not working. You see, no one could, can and will able to fill that void inside you except you yourself.” “Look at children, they are natural egoists, they are born like that. To be so is not wrong. They need this attribute to growth so as to fulfill their needs. Later, they might be corrupted with the notion that, firstly, they have to think about others and secondly about themselves, that the sacrifice for others is necessary to achieve fulfillment or a place in heaven - in the next world. But isn’t it 44
that obligation, not true love? I say why wait? Why can’t we make Heaven here on Earth, and right away?” “If we show children how they can love themselves, how they may discover their true self, this will be a natural process to them, and in having a surplus of this self-love, they will start to share it. But remember, each child is different and needs different approaches towards learning and understanding true self-love.” “For instance, some children learn the negative egoism - that they can have everything they want, that everything belongs to them and everyone should be obedient to them. As in everything, they are two sides to egoism, and parents should beware of which side their children stand upon – and direct them accordingly.” “I want to add one last thought to this topic. Each person is different, so for each one, there is different value of egoism. What I mean by that, is some people need to devote their entire lives towards helping those in need, while others seek to be the best they can in their chosen careers and relationships. This varies and depends on the needs within each of us. Everyone’s life road differs, but we always should exemplify how to live fully with the highest degree of excitement and unconditional love - whether we devote our entire lives to help others or we seek a career and family life and later pass on these values to our children.”
COMPASSION AND EMPATHY I: “How is empathy connected to the definition of egoism you provided?” Dan: “When you are plugged into this universal field, and feeling one with everything, you can sense that this connection with other beings is nothing other than compassion. It is how love shows itself in one of its highest forms.”
45
“Being compassionate means that you understand and acknowledge that everyone has his or her own path of life, a path of growth. Moreover, they decide to create any version of reality due to freewill. However, it is often hard for us to accept that someone who is close to us, someone who we love so much, chooses a way that brings about suffering to others and to themselves. We try to help that person, but sometimes we are helpless. There is nothing we can do.” “This is not an easy topic to discuss - I met with such situations with my own family, and I struggled for years to find a way to help them, but nothing worked. They were just deaf to everything. From those experiences, I have learnt that a balance in the field of empathy is also needed. You cannot be heartless, yet you cannot allow yourself to be affected too much. Sitting all day and crying about what is, won’t help. You may only worsen the situation, not to mention that you are contributing to increasing the amount of suffering in the world.” ”Looking from this perspective - someone close to you is suffering a lot. It would be much better if he saw the power in you, that strength, that you are strong and you will never give up and will be fight till the end, instead of sitting and being depressed and doing nothing. This power is a much better consolation and it doesn’t come from empathy, but from compassion.” “Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that crying is bad. Sometimes it is what is exactly needed, but do not let empathy overcome your life! You will suffer in vain and waste your life’s power because of someone’s else choices! I have learnt how to be happy, and joyful - and yet be around them and try to help - even if they often emanate those negative energies. You can build defense systems against these energies or even transform them. If these kind of circumstances happen in your life, treat them as opportunities to learn more about the alchemy of emotional energies.” “When you are connected to this field, there is also a danger that 46
you will be grabbing hold of the emotions of other people. Being able to do so has its good and bad sides. One of the advantages is that you can more easily sense the true nature of people with just one look at them, for example, that something has happened or is wrong. This ability is very common among people who love each other and are together for a long time or between parents and children - because they constitute their own field. You are probably very familiar with this kind of telepathy. But when your consciousness is expanding, you may also sense it in the people – those who are unknown to you.” “The universe is holographic in nature. This means that everything that happens to someone at the same time happens to everyone, so being in the presence of these energies, we have the possibility to transform them. To do so, clear your mind, connect to the Source, think about the intention and let the flow of universal love do its job. Sometimes, this happens spontaneously and unconsciously. While being charged with positive energy, you meet someone who is in a bad mood, you have the greater chance to win this “battle” even without doing anything, because positive energy is more powerful, cohesive and contagious than negative energy, because this last divides and separates.”
HAPPINESS I: “You have talked earlier about suffering. Could you elaborate a little more about the topic of happiness and joy?” Dan: “For me, you are happy when you are both growing and have balance in all fields of life. Balance here is the key point. As human beings, we are both spiritual and physical beings, so to live fully, we have to achieve harmony between these two worlds, and we have to devote the same amount of time for growth in both fields. Finally, we must live our lives simultaneously in these two worlds. This is the purpose we were created for - to fully manifest the spirit inside the human body and to master it. Mastering here 47
means to create a life of your own preference, and by living it, showing others what is possible.” “Nature likes harmony and balance. For example, you shouldn’t eat too much because you will create health problems, yet you shouldn’t eat too little because it is also detrimental to our bodies. It is the same in each field – if you study or work too hard without a break or do so too little, you won’t achieve optimal results.” “In developing your spirituality, you also learn how not to be attached to material things. You are able to see that there is not only a material reality, but also a spiritual one and that material things are the manifestation of it. These realms are interconnected like two sides of the same coin. So you will never again be afraid of losing what you have, because you have already found out that happiness is not dependent on any outside conditions. Upon looking at it all from that perspective, you will be at peace, content and happy –whether you have nothing, or whether you have million dollars on your account.” “I’m not saying that we should live in poverty and be happy – my message is that you should firstly discover yourself and later start gathering things - not the way around. For in this way, you will truly appreciate what you have. You will be having fun getting the things that you want and you never will be attached and afraid of losing them. Please note that the more you are afraid of losing them, the more chances there are of that happening. This is because you are expecting this to happen and thus attract it – it is the law of attraction. I also want to mention that being happy means living in the moment.”
LIVING IN THE MOMENT Dan: “When you are entering into that quest of finding your natural, true self, you are clearing your sky from of all the clouds, that pile on top of each other. You are no longer living in the past, 48
nor in the future, but in the very moment of the present. As I mentioned before, once you are in that state, you practically feel that you need nothing other than to let joy and love flow through you. It is like taking away the obstacles from a river that has been blocked or narrowed – you are restoring the natural flow of love.” “The advantages of living in the moment is that each act of everyday life gives pleasure - from chopping wood, washing the dishes, cooking dinner, exercising - to the simplest acts such as smiling, talking, even pausing to watch a bird in flight. In these everyday activities you are marrying the body with the spirit, and the spirit is taking into each action of everyday life. Your whole being gains a new presence, new energy that emanates around and washes over other beings and things.” “In living in the now you are more connected to your intuition. Moreover, your intelligence is being greatly developed and you are no longer letting the outside world be in charge of your inner world. You have full control of all situations, or circumstances. Indeed, your reactions are never triggered by the emotions.” “Please note, sometimes people want to do something bad to you, even unintentionally. Yes, in these moments these negative emotions will probably be noticeable, but only for the shortest period of time and they won’t have any lingering effects on you. When such people want to give you a “gift” that is of negative emotions, in recognizing the importance of living in the present, you have the ability to simply say no without feeling guilty. Guess what happens with a gift that is rejected? It still belongs to a person who wanted to give it.” “Finally, living in the now helps you find a solution to most problems. When you develop an ability to see to yourself from a distance, from variety of different angels, you are able to see a given situation in diverse ways and recognize the many paths to appropriate solutions.” 49
PRAYER I: ”I have a question…it’s about prayer? Many people around the world pray, but they are not getting what they want. Could you comment on that?” Dan: “I discovered that actually only way to approach prayer that genuinely works – and it is deeply connected with the law of attraction. There are a few types of prayer, among these, ritual prayer as in religions, or personal prayer - a request to the Source. These types of prayers have something in common – we are asking about something to be different. Thus, we are acknowledging that, in this moment, something is wrong, and we don’t want this current situation to continue. Yet, by engaging in such prayer, we only bring the same in a greater amount, because by way of our thoughts, we are only reinforcing the current state of experienced reality. When we pray for good health - we acknowledge that we are not healthy. We are still feeling bad…even if it is unconsciously so. As a result, we become more ill.” “The Universe, Infinite Intelligence listens and it responds only to our emotions. This is the key to prayer. That is that internal technology. Words can be helpful, but they needn’t be heard. Yet, while they may be helpful in creating certain emotional states in order for the manifestation process to start, the true secret for a prayer to come into manifestation is the feeling that our wish has already been granted and we feel the gratitude for having it so.” “The laws of the universe are constant and equal for everyone. There are no exceptions! So if we have done everything as we should have done – the universe will have no other choice, but to reflect the version of reality that we feel as being true. This works every single time. People often think that seeing is believing, but it is actually the way around - believing is seeing. If you believe that something is true, you will ultimately see it.” 50
“We can speak a language of thousand curses, but if on the inside, we are filled with peace and love, these curses won’t have any power. It is the same as if we spoke a language of love and we were filled with negative energy, this would be a language of the void - and the reality would match and reflect the same negative emotions we would be holding.” I: “However, it does seem people are miraculously healed by praying, in as you said a ritualistic, traditional way...” Dan: “This turn-out is possible. Yet it all depends because when someone is praying we don’t know what is going on within this person. The words, thoughts and emotions might be separated, or there might be a marriage between these three. This, in actuality, is when miracles happen. Words are only a catalyst in inducting higher emotional states and these states are the dialogue with Infinite Intelligence.” “Look at the monks in some monasteries. One of the techniques they use is that they sit and do nothing – no words, no singing. But what is happening inside is very powerful. That’s why miracles happen in every culture, religion and spiritual path - it all depends on the particular people and technique. The concept of prayer is very similar to the law of attraction – have you heard it before?”
51
CHAPTER II THE LAW OF ATTRACTION I: “Yes, I watched the film Secret, and I’ve read many books on this topic, but nothing has worked for me. Am I doing something wrong?” Dan: “You know...it took about two years for me to fully understand how it works. I tried different approaches and finally it worked. Yes, it took some time, but, I had promised myself to never give up until I learnt how to use it, and in attempting to mastering, I also understood that it is, indeed, a complex topic – but one well-worth understanding.”
The Concept Dan: “ The Law of attraction is a notion that has been considered until recently to be nothing more than a metaphysical belief. However, quantum physics has started to discover that the law of attraction is really based on physical principles. It says, putting it simply, that everything in the universe is a form of energy vibrating at different frequencies. We communicate with this field of energy, not through our mind, but through our emotional system – our hearts. This is because the heart is the most powerful organ in our bodies - one that emits over a thousand times stronger an electromagnetic field than the brain. Mind and thoughts only help to evoke certain emotions, but in reality, what corresponds with the universe are the emotions that are created in the heart. Thus, the universe is a mirror that reflects back to us what we have given emotionally, not mentally. Of course, this explanation is very simplified, but it is only a general description of this law.” “In this way, when we feel good, we are empowered, happy and joyful, and we emanate those feelings to the world, and, 52
in return, we get back more of it – we meet more people with similar attitudes. Moreover, in this way, we have the ability to change the mood of others. As I’ve said before, everyone of us has probably been in a situation when we felt bad, sad and depressed, but hadn’t you noticed that when you were in such a funk, sometimes you encountered someone with such a degree of positively empowerment, that he or she changed your entire energy pattern? This is because positive energy is more powerful and contagious than negative.” “I want to mention here one other important issue. People who study the law of attraction often think that they have to stay in this empowerment state all the time, and, of course, this is very desirable, but it is also very hard to achieve, especially in the beginning. When such people who do not have a full grasp of the notion, fall away from that state, they start blaming themselves and have feelings of doubt. But we have to remember that we are not perfect and doubt and falling away will happen, and then, we have to use the virtue of forgiveness – we have to forgive and bless ourselves. Doing that will return us to the empowerment state.” “Everyone practicing this law will have moments of negativity or doubt and they may be even stronger because of the contrastwhen we reach higher states of joy, we would also feel stronger the states of sadness. When these moments happen, the best thing to do is to accept them, ask why they come - maybe they are intended to show us something, maybe they mirror us or what we have given to the world.” “When this happens, do not judge yourself that you negatively. Don’t think that you have failed. Instead, think of that moment as being another valuable lesson. When we apply this attitude in these moments of doubt, we are be able to come back faster to that state of empowerment. Remember, there are only two ways to how you can perceive yourself when in a difficult situation – you could be a victim or you could be a winner.” 53
“Now, going deeper, I now would like to outline the key points that I have found in the law of attraction.”
LIMITING BELIEFS Dan: “ The first, and the most important thing that may hold us from attracting whatever we want is our belief system. As I mentioned before, we have been programmed and at a deep unconscious level, if we believe that we don’t deserve something, no matter how much energy we put into manifesting it, it won’t appear. The universe doesn’t differentiate between good and bad. It doesn’t judge and its laws are a constant for everyone. Thus, if we feel that we deserve only what is bad in our lives, we will get only the bad. It is the same for that which is good. Believing that we deserve all the joy, love and happiness that life can bring us, is the first step to manifesting them.” “With regard to those who feel unworthy and deeply believe that they don’t deserve happiness I want you to look at your situation from a different perspective. By buying into those beliefs, you say to the Source that you must be a mistake, but if you didn’t deserve to live, you would simply not exist, but you do. Therefore, you do deserve to exist. Moreover, you deserve to live. It is all as simple as it sounds. You not only exist, but also have this divine power to create your own reality. You have the ability to imagine any outcome. Indeed, you certainly do have that power of creation inside you - because it is there where everything starts – in your imagination. In the eyes of the creation, everyone is equal and if somebody else can achieve something like losing weight or gaining wealth, you certainly can do this too.” I: “But what about those who have feel that they are ugly or disfigured? Dan: “Once again, I would say that this is a mere matter of belief, comparison and judgment. You could be ugly in some or other way 54
in the subjective measurement of society, but when you are filled with happiness, love and joy, you have this internal magnetism that is even more beautiful than any outside physical factors. No one can change their genetic features, so acceptance of them is the best way to embrace this issue.” I: “Yet beliefs are not something simple to change.” Dan: “Yes…both positive and negative beliefs have the same selfreinforcement mechanisms, otherwise it would be very simple to change them. When under the influence of one of the negative emotions… we feel that there is no way out...no way to escape. We may even reach that point where we perceive that there is nothing outside this belief and we would literally die if we dare to cross that line and see what is beyond. That is one of its tricks for it to perpetuate. It is like it has a survival instinct mechanism.” “Yet reward…something people normally think is positive…is just another insidious trick. If we keep choosing and buying into that belief, we know that we will be rewarded in one way or another. It still a trick, though…we have to ask if our reward is truly a reward…” “Sometimes, we may have thoughts that maybe there is something better out there - especially when we look at the lives of others but staying here… where we are…in our current reality…in the realm of this belief, is more safe. We know this ground and we feel secure however bad the situation may be. We fear that it is wrong to try something else because our situation may become even worse. So we always choose that which we believe is the less painful and more pleasurable from all the options - even if in reality, the other choices are more hurtful. However, this happens only because we unconsciously believe in it.” “Remember what I said earlier about the comfort zone? There is no other way but to think of this as stagnation. If we stay in one place 55
and are not evolving, all the world is going forward, so whether we want it or not, we are going backwards. This is what happens if we only choose to stay on the safety grounds of these negative beliefs. The courage to enter into the new is very important in order to get out of these self-perpetuating structures.” “That is why I recommend meditation…because in doing this… withdrawing and becoming only an objective observer of your reality…you can go into the beyond and see these structures in their totality from the outside. You can see their levels, how they interconnect and how they are influenced. Albert Einstein said that you cannot solve a problem from being at same level in which that problem was created. You have to go outside the box to find the solution.” “A useful way to dismantle this structure is to ask the question – ‘What is the worst thing that may happen when I go into the beyond?’ Finding an answer to that query is a good way of analyzing your belief system and discovering what is hiding there - even on unconscious levels.” I: “Ok I understand. As we have already dealt with our beliefs and worthiness, what comes afterwards?”
JUDGMENT AND COMPARISON Dan: “There is the issue of judgment that is connected to beliefs. We have to deeply analyze the patterns that we gained willingly or unwillingly from our society, our parents and from other different sources. You see, we have been taught that we have to be someone….we must be this or that - a doctor… a lawyer…a “someone”. These are the common patterns of any society, and in order to live in any society, we seemingly have to follow them.” “Look, for example, towards our system of education. It is created only for those who have certain skills, talents and abilities. Think 56
back to the parable of the jungle exam. In the jungle, it was exam time for all the young animals, no matter what the species. This was the way things were and always will be. Before the examiners – a chimp and a leopard and a monkey – stood a fish, a lion, a cat, a fly, a deer and a dog. The head examiner, the chimp said: “Your task is to climb the tree.” Guess which animals were the only successful graduates? You see, our education system works the same way. Please understand…I’m not denigrating it… because, for now, this kind of system is the only one that can be accepted by our society…but it throws onto the trash heap certain possibly very talented students. They gain the believe that there is no way that they can ever succeed – so they either give up or rebel. Either way, in the long run, society loses.” “How we look at others and how we perceive ourselves is an internal, unconscious judgment held life-long. It is important to be aware of this and how it functions. The main reason for this coming about is not that someone wanted something bad to happen to us, it is because nothing better has been invented yet.” I: “But should we not send our children to school, or should we abandon if we see it is not for them?” Dan: “Basic education is needed for everyone, but as parents, we should discover the talents and abilities of our children and focus mainly on the development of these. When we teach our children the attitude that there is no need to be perfect at everything because everyone is different and everyone has different talents, when they enter into positions of judgment, they won’t be holding onto pre-conceived internal convictions so much.“ “Look at the flowers on a meadow they don’t care whether they will be more beautiful than their neighbors – they just bloom. In crossing through a meadow, you don’t come to the violet and say to it that it must be a rose for you to admire it - instead you just enjoy all the colors and variety of life.” 57
“As adults, we often may have the same problems. We see that we don’t have as good a job as our neighbor or as good a car. We compare. Comparison can be a good thing, but it must be done without judgment. If we see that someone has something better than we have, it should only motivate us to work harder, to do more and not to merely sit back and judge critically and negatively. Comparison when used negatively becomes a curse, but when utilized properly, it brings us inspiration and motivation.” “We are already unique and have individual expression. There is really no need for envy and negative self-criticism our outward judgment, because we cannot be entirely changed. We only need to develop our skills and talents. When children are unconditionally loved for who they are, they will naturally choose and follow the path that is the best for them…providing that they are made aware of such paths and of their hidden talents. This comes about even if this path is initially thought unsatisfactory to their parents.”
FORGIVENESS Dan: “Let’s move onwards to the next step - forgiveness. Forgiveness is a great tool that brings us into the present. It helps us to discover our natural, true selves and enables that flow of unconditional love.” “Firstly, let’s look at what forgiveness truly is and why is it so important. When we bear grudges, anger, hate or when we blame others, we are automatically “trapped” in the past – in that moment, when this particular event occurred. We feel as if we are creating negative energy towards that event or that person, but in fact we are the main receivers of this.” “Every time we remember some painful experience we come back to it and repeat the same. So in fact, we sabotage ourselves. We repunish ourselves for things that someone has done to us. Imagine that someone intentionally hurts us and wants us to feel bad each 58
time when we think about it - and we do really feel bad when we do so. Do you really want to do this? To give this pleasure to that person? The answer is obvious. So no matter whether the hurt was intentional or not, it is always worthwhile to forgive – to drop that burden from the past, to release that negative charge and to prepare a space where positive energy can enter.” “Forgiveness not only must be understood as a concept, but also felt as something real - it is a feeling that can be created. What is more, it must be genuine. When a person merely gives lip-service to the notion of forgiveness – to either look good or to raise their ego - it won’t work…or worse…it will have a negative effect. True forgiveness opens the path to humbleness.” “If you truly understand this concept, try to create that feeling of forgiveness and to feel it in your heart. It is one of the heart’s virtues and exists there waiting for you to activate it. When you start feeling it, the next step is to direct it towards that particular person or event. You should feel this great energy charge released, and in its place comes great calmness and peace. You can even go further and bless that person and see that miracles can genuinely happen – but note…that miracle comes about inside you – be way of your emotional system.” “This is not a perfect world, no one is perfect, and forgiveness is the tool that enables you to admit that inside your belief system. Forgiveness is inseparably interconnected with understanding. Understanding that each person acts through their own belief system, abilities and experiences. They do what they think is necessary to complete a self-set task when inside any particular situation. Even if they act in fear, disempowerment, anger or envy, they choose what they think is the most appropriate way to achieve an end, because in many cases, they never felt the other side – love compassion, understanding. Let’s not forget that sometimes, these people must be stopped by force and isolated from society. But if we start to investigate why they acted in this 59
way, our perspective of understanding the universe will broaden as will our ability to forgive and love.” I: “Wow! Thank you for sharing with us this perspective. I always thought of forgiveness as a concept, but never as a feeling. I must say that you have intrigued me and I certainly will try it that way. Now…my next question. When we are prepared in the terms of forgiveness and cleaned ourselves from the past what comes next?”
POWER OF GRATITUDE Dan: “We have to, as well, understand the power of gratitude. It changes our perspective, shifts our thinking, our energy. Though the notion of gratitude, we go into a different direction, we concentrate on what we have - instead of what we have not. We all know that if we are being appreciated for even the little things that we do - we want to do more of them. This same principle applies even with respect to the universe - if we appreciate what the universe has given to us, we will have the opportunity to be given more.” “In these times, everyday, people complain about what they don’t have: “I don’t have the car that I wanted, I don’t have the home that I wanted, I don’t the job that I wanted, I don’t have…I don’t have…” But if we are concentrating on only the negative - what is happening? We are, of course, bringing more of the negative into our lives - and the car and the house gets more shabby, ugly and miserable to drive or be inside, while the job gets worse, with every passing thought.” “If we change our perspective and try to look on these things in a positive way, our lives will be happier: “Thank you for the car that I have - I could have had none, thank you for a place to live - I could be homeless and alone, thank you for the job that I have - I could be unemployed and most important - thank you for being alive!” You, see, we should be grateful for what we do actually have.” 60
“Start thinking in this way and you will feel the shift of energy - instead negativity, you will feel happiness - because you have started appreciating the very things you have in your life. Do list of things that you are thankful for. Try to find at least ten things you are thankful for, and, during the day, pay attention for more that you can be grateful for having - and put them on this list. As your list grows, you will be more and more joyful, you will start looking at your life in a completely different way and you will feel that you are already abundant, rather than you are not. You will also notice that by doing so, the universe will also “look” at you in a different way, and it will pass onto you, its blessings.” “Gratitude, as well as forgiveness, must not only be understood theoretically, but also be put to practical use. It should not only understood as a concept, but felt as a real force. In the beginning, it can be hard to sustain this feeling for a long period of time, but with practice, you can reach a level where gratitude and appreciation will be constantly emanating from your being, and reconstructing your whole reality in a joyful and blissful fashion. This is one of the most important skills possessed by the modern alchemist.”
IMAGINATION Dan: “When your practice of gratitude becomes a daily routine, you can go to the next skill needed – the use of imagination. Imagination is a powerful tool that we use in creating reality, as our dreams and desires start firstly in the mind. The philosopher, Napoleon Hill, once said: “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve”. There is no limit in what we can manifest and attract. In actuality, there is enough of everything in universe for all of us. There isn’t, only if we believe that there isn’t, and that you have to fight for that little crumb of the Universal cake, because you think that someone else can take what could be yours. This notion of universal abundance is another permission slip that we can use.” 61
“There is no such thing as lack. But some things take more time, some less - to manifest. One thing can, for somebody, take a week to obtain, for another person, this might take a year. The hardest part of gratitude is to be patient and have faith that it will happen. There will be moments of doubt, but the faster we discard them, the faster the possibility of manifestation.“ “People, in general, are impatient, and that’s why they often don’t get what they visualize. Not only is patience needed but, often hard work. What is more, this hard work in setting the stage to achieve our desired goals should bring us joy and excitement. If these feelings accompany our travel down this path, we can be sure we have chosen the right route - and it is certain that it will take less time to gain the desired results.” “It all comes about in this way because, for example, if we are learning something and we are doing it happily and with passion - we learn it faster. Now, take business, if we talk with people, of business potential opportunities, and they see that our work brings us joy, it is more likely that we could do a deal with them.” “It is very important to understand that our brain cannot differentiate between the real and unreal, so if we imagine something or recall some memories, it treats these as realities. In this way our physiology is triggered and we feel the emotion exactly as we felt in that moment. Try to imagine that you are standing on the very edge of the roof of some skyscraper looking down and you will see what I mean.” “There are many cases when something that we desire is about to come to pass, but in the final moment, we suddenly give up and say: “It doesn’t work.” Then we change our energy patterns, from the positive into the negative, and come up with the reproach: “Why doesn’t it work? I did everything as I was supposed to.” Or we express resentment: “Ok, I’ve already devoted so much time to this, and if it doesn’t want to manifest, this is all nothing but a 62
bunch of lies.” Then we start feeling a fear based emotion and this is transmitted to the universe - which, in turn, rearranges itself to bring us our next wish – that of not having the things we desire. When we are not attach to the outcome and we’re acting playfully, this is the fastest path to gaining what we wish, but I will get to that later, let me now talk about Visualization.”
VISUALIZATION Dan: “Visualization is the practical use of imagination. I will now give you some advice as to how to so correctly. First, you have to set yourself goal that you easily believe is achievable for you and which does not collide with your current belief system. That is why it is worthwhile to work initially on the topic of beliefs.” “For instance, in setting the goal of manifesting one million dollars within the next month is something you would probably not believe on the unconscious level. But if you set the goal, let say, of improving your income about $5,000 - this is more believable and possible even unconsciously. What is important is to not set a specific time frame when such is not needed. With a period of grace, the universe will have more moves and ways to bring what you truly desire to you. On the other hand, you cannot set too long a grace period as you will be lazy and procrastinating.” “You also have to estimate realistic time frames. Sometimes, you will want to, say, manifest this $5,000 within the next 30 days, and instead, you get only $4,000 - so be happy with that and do what you have been doing since that time frame began. Indeed, it is highly probable that, soon, you get the rest of the sum or even more.” “If you visualize something, you must create the feelings that are as if you already have that thing. The more you have these feelings, the higher likelihood of that happening. Moreover, you must try to stay in that state at least for 15 minutes. This the minimal time for your feelings to be grounded in your subconscious.” 63
“What is most important ,however, is that you must know the rules of what earning this outcome is about – that is in it bringing value to others. You should learn, for example, how money functions in society, what is a passive and active income…what are assets. I will talk about money more thoroughly later, but it is worth underlining that a desired outcome is not only about simply visualizing it, it is also about gaining and utilizing knowledge.” “Let us bring in a different example. You could visualize your ideal body, but you have to be aware that simply imagining it won’t work. You must undertake action and set realistic goals. It won’t be effective, if say, in desiring to lose weight, to so as discard 10kg in one month. But setting the goal of losing, for example, 2-3kg in one month through careful diet and more exercise, is more realistic, easier to do, and, what is most important – it is a healthy approach. It is the same with building muscle, you have to know the rules of how to do it correctly and without risking of damaging your body.” “To sum up, the universe is like a mirror, and when you speak with it through your emotions and tell it that you already have your desired outcome, this thing will be reflected in your reality. It is like smiling into the mirror: when you start smiling, you can be sure that the reflection will smile too. Unfortunately, most people try to change their reality by ordering the reflection in the mirror to change. It doesn’t work in this way.” “Finally, during your day, remember to try to listen more to your intuition. When you genuinely get that feeling to do something, it may be exactly this that is needed to manifest your desire - just go for it - even if it is crazy!”
ACTION ! Dan: “Action is the most important factor in manifesting a desire. We live in a physical reality, and in order to create things in this 64
dimension, we have to take physical action. Sometimes, people think that is enough to sit and just visualize things, and then do nothing, as that thing will magically appear. Yes, this could be possible, but the outcome is highly improbable.” “When we attract something through using all the tools of manifestation, our higher minds are working all the time to bring us to the exact place where we are need to be, at the perfect time to make this a reality. Then, to bring about this desired outcome, what we only have to do is to ACT. We could, for example, be walking down the street and suddenly have this intuitive feeling to turn and take another path or maybe to talk with some stranger – but we have to act on it. The manifestation of any desire could happen in thousand different forms – but we have to take action to make it so.” “If we have a plan to achieve our goal, we have to act upon it each day. As I said, in simply visualizing your body as being in perfect condition will not bring about this outcome. You won’t lose weight only by thinking how fit you already are. It is obvious that you have to exercise, eat less, go on a diet, and so on.” “What can you achieve by visualizing, then? It can make something happen faster - though visualizing, you may come across a great exercise plan, or a great diet – tailored-made for you. It can happen in a form of friend’s asking to go jogging, and you would be motivated to get out and move about by just having the company.” “Acting concerns all fields of manifestation. If we want to be wealthy, just as I have mentioned before, we have to find a way to deliver value to other people, by selling our product, providing services, entertaining or creating work places. If we want to have a wonderful life partner, we have to work on ourselves first. We have to learn how to love ourselves. We have to take care of our bodies, our minds and personalities so as to look attractive – a valuable commodity.” 65
“So don’t forget to act because, that is how everything happens within the law of attraction. Moreover, and I can’t say it enough, dare to be crazy. Because the world belongs to crazy people! Remember, people say that something cannot be done, and then along comes someone who doesn’t believe so, and does the impossible! Being creatively crazy has given us everything we have!”
REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY Dan: “People often act to the best of their possibilities and they don’t get results. This may happen because they have never heard about the “letting go” factor, and because the law of attraction works in paradox. What does this all mean? Firstly, we have to do all that work of visualization and feeling good as we have already achieved that desired outcome, but the very next thing is to let it go.” “You have already delivered your wishes to the universe, to the higher mind and the next thing is to let the higher mind finds the way to manifest these wishes, and when the opportunity happens - just act. It is important to understand that you cannot insist on manifesting it at a certain time or place or have it manifested it in some special way, for there can be other ways for this to come about – ones even more simple, pleasurable and easier that you cannot see at the moment. Just go for your dream joyfully, happily and with excitement, and these states are the best indicator that this law works. However, they have to come about with no expectancy of the outcome.“ “I say it again - the highest chance of something manifesting in your life is when you working on something with your greatest degree of excitement, joy, and you don’t expect any particular outcome or result. I don’t say that you cannot think about your final goal, but you have to stop insisting that, for example, you must win the big prize, you must sell something, you must get something and so on. The word “must” is like insisting on a particular outcome. Instead, we can try to use, for example, the expressed belief – “I will do everything in my power to do the best I can!” It is all about finding the ideal place of balance 66
between the excitement, the vision of outcome and the letting go of the expectation factor.” “Here, I would like to give you yet some more examples why it is so important. Look, often when you have the lack of something, you are acting out of desperation. When you are looking for work, for example, and have been looking for work for a long while, you are going to interviews nervous and desperate - as if it was the end of the world. People feel this and your chances of getting that job will be decreased.” “Take another example, look at a boy who is alone and is desperate to find a girlfriend, and no girl wants to be with such a person. He is showing that he is not self-confident, or shy, or has low self-esteem. On the other hand, when he doesn’t insist on a particular outcome, she is often drawn to him.” “This law of balance is just a natural law that works for everything. When you are going to a job interview, you need to find this point of balance. When you are showing that you are the most suited for this position, but, you are not presenting yourself as if you are from desperate – you gain the best chances to get that job. It is true art to finding that ideal balance point in bringing all sorts of things into our lives.” I: “Wow, when you are were taking about this, I remembered when I was in high school. Then, I had problems with finding a girlfriend. I was just as you said – acting out of desperation. I wasn’t confident enough, and with each failure, I acted from even a more desperate attitude. This, in turn, brought only more failures - and then I stopped trying. When I forgot about that and concentrated on school and my learning, I just started to talk with girls naturally and then a miracle happen for me. I started dating the most beautiful girl in our school. Every boy was jealous and they asked me how I did it, but I only answered them that that it was my little secret. Then, I didn’t fully understand what had 67
happened, but now, when you have explained it to me, it starts to make sense.” Dan: “Yes, you see , in our lives, we often stumble upon some way of doing something unconsciously, and, later, we act by way of using this technique – doing so, not even realizing what exactly it is. Yet, in this way, it cannot be utilized to the full. It is only when we get know the whole idea, the whole concept behind it, are we truly able to gain all the benefits from it.” I: ”So if I understand it correctly, in order to manifest a desired outcome, you have to act out of your highest excitement, yet with zero expectation of the possible outcome?” Dan: “Yes, exactly. This is one of the inbuilt secrets to so-called great secret. But, remember, you can have some final goals, and at the same time, you cannot insist on the path as to how they are to be manifested. Let’s look at, for example, the goal of winning first place in some sport competition. It’s obvious that you must follow the rules, and, of course, you must show up in order to win, but how you spent time before the big day is very important. Using the law of attraction, you can bring to you, for instance, people who have innovative and effective training regimes. You may also came across some new diet that helps you gain more energy, or by simply visualizing and having the emotion of winning, you will have the more will and physical power to train. But remember, the outcome cannot come about by ordering the universe to manifest it, you must simply and humbly ask for help in achieving your goal. There is a big difference in energy and emotions behind insisting and requesting, and this difference has a great influence on the final effects.” “We have to be always aware of our emotional state - because, in fact, we are attracting and praying all the time. In the constant emanation of the heart-sourced electromagnetic field of emotions, we create our lives and we manifest things consciously 68
or unconsciously. The present is the result of our thoughts and emotions from the past. It often shows us who we were, instead of who we are. That’s why often when we are changing our thoughts and emotions, the present stays the same for a while – as it reflects who we once were, while the future will reflect who we are at the moment.” “That is the big problem for most people, because in these moments, they think that this law doesn’t work, and they then start searching for some answers for the reflections of their change, and when they don’t find these - they return to the square one, and then they stop believing. When you are only trying to create a change, but without experiencing some changes in yourself, you don’t believe it fully.” “We can notice if we have undergone a change, by way of this simple test: If you think that you have changed and your reality seems to stay the same, look at how you react to the things that appear. If you react in the same way as you did in the past, you haven’t changed. Remember that what is happening does not really matter, what matters is only how you feel towards it. The new reality needs some time to transform itself. This period is called the ‘time buffer’.”
TIME BUFFER I: “Could you tell me exactly how this works?” Dan: “The time buffer is another important issue to understand in the process of conscious manifestation. If there wasn’t such thing as the time buffer, we would get things instantaneously. It would be a crazy world. Whenever we get any thought, it would manifest - imagine how it would look like – you see Tarzan on the television, and get to thinking about safari and elephants and – bingo – one immediately appears in your saloon!”
69
“Thanks to the time buffer, we have the chance to rethink what we really want. I know that we are, by nature, very impatient, and we want things immediately. But considering how our brains works and how fast our thoughts are changing, it is for our own good that this time buffer exists. What is more, when it is recognized as being a positive feature within the law of attraction, it can be properly used.” “There is a possibility to shorten the interval of this buffer – this come about by having full control of our thoughts and emotions, acting only on the highest excitement, and doing so with a vision of a certain goal and with zero expectation as to how this goal should manifest. Then, the road to this goal becomes itself a very pleasant journey, though sometimes with obstacles, maybe even very hard ones. But, if we treat these not as obstacles, but as a challenges, we completely change our way of approaching them. In changing our internal vibration, we can derive a positive result from almost each situation we are immersed in. We have to remember also that according to the law of attraction, our brains do not recognize the word NO.”
THE “NO” FACTOR Dan: “Under no circumstances use the word ‘no’. Be very aware of that. When you say ‘I don’t want to be poor!’; ‘I don’t want that disease!’; ‘I don’t want to be alone!’ - you always get more of the things that you are thinking and talking.” “Instead, always say their opposites – say something with a positive ring. Moreover, to even speed up the time of attraction, use the present tense - as if your wish has already happened – ‘I now have all the money that I need and I feel very secure!’; ‘I’m now in perfect health!’; ‘I’m feeling happy with myself and I know I’ve already met someone I can share life with and give my love to!’ When you change your thought statements in this way, your 70
energy patterns shifts – your emotions follow the thoughts that are expressed by language.” “In your free time, try a little experiment. Firstly, use a sentence with ‘no’ and monitor how you feel. Later, alter it towards a positive statement. Now, notice how everything changes. In the beginning, thinking in this way may seem and feel as if it were a lie, but treat it just as a playful game! Feel like you are a child in a fantastic playground – or that you have all the Lego blocks you need to build anything that you can imagine!“
71
CHAPTER III THE THINGS WE WANT IN LIFE ABUNDANCE AND MONEY I: “Thanks for these great insights. Our readers will certainly ask question about the ways of bringing into their lives more money… so…do these rules also apply to prosperity and abundance?” Dan: “Yes exactly! In bringing in more money, our beliefs do play basic and important role. I’m sure, you’ve heard the statement that ‘money is the root of all evil.’ Is this really right or is it an exaggeration? And then haven’t we all been programmed to think that we have to work hard to earn enough money to live? Well, I do think that we have to work, but work need not to be tedious. It can bring pleasure – the pleasure of a job done well. Moreover, contributing to society can be very satisfying and fulfilling.” “I’m not saying that we have to abandon that work which we hate because we are obliged to provide a decent living for our families. Instead, we can try to make our current job less painful, firstly by being grateful that we have a job. Many people are unemployed. Many others don’t earn as much as we, so we are blessed in a sense with our current state. There is no way to convince ourselves to love a job that we don’t like, but we can always find something in it that brings some degree of enjoyment.” “In being in that state of having a modicum of contentment, of being somewhat ok with our current work, we can more easily discover a new way of bringing in a greater amount of abundance in our lives. But remember! Abundance does not necessarily mean more banknotes in your wallet! It can be something that somebody that someone gives us. This can be a service that somebody provides for us, even for free. There are many different ways in which abundance can come into our lives.” 72
“Let’s look at the beliefs that surround money. We often are taught that money is evil and it is better not to be rich. We’ve been programmed to think that we have to work hard to earn money. There are also the notions that people who cling to wealth are mean and heartless, and that money is the end all and be all of their lives. Moreover, they have earned their fortunes in illegal ways. In, sadly, too many cases all this may be true, but there are also many rich people who are quite the opposite. They are an inspiration and they often find happiness in helping others and bettering their societies and their fellow beings.” “Living an abundant life is the birth-right of every human. Yet, whether we achieve this or not depends firstly on our beliefs. Look at the example of the many people who have won a great sum on the lottery, yet, after few years, are totally bankrupt. This often comes about because they believe that they don’t actually deserve their fortune, and that it is wrong to have this vast sum at hand... and so on... They just unconsciously sabotage themselves.” “Another key concept with regard to abundance in the form of money, is knowledge - knowledge about how money works in our economic system. We have to understand the differences between passive and active income. We also have to ask ourselves: ‘Why should we find ways of increasing our passive income?’; ‘How can the money we have, work on its behalf - instead of us working hard for more money?’; ‘Why is that we should have a few streams of passive income?’; ‘How can we use our natural skills and talents in creating streams of passive income?’; ‘What are assets?’... These are very important questions that need to be answered and understood if we really want to be rich.” “People who run their businesses and have multiple streams of passive income, often tend to work harder than people who work for someone else - even as a full-time job - because they love what they are doing... they are passionate about it! They have no problems 73
with waking up early in the morning and heading off to work! This passion is one of the fundamental secrets of attracting money and, indeed, any other positive thing - as I said earlier – it is acting on your level of highest excitement.” “There is nothing wrong in having a lot of money or setting out on a quest for getting it. But, it must be stressed that, if we have discovered our natural, true self and learnt how to be happy with what we already have, and are grateful for it, this quest would be without vast struggle, without great tension and would not be the usual rat race. This is because whether you succeed or not will have little effect upon your degree of happiness. What is more, if you have this attitude, you will be more likely to succeed due to the reverse psychology factor that I mentioned earlier.” “When we don’t insist on something manifesting in a certain way, there could be other ways - even more simpler or better ways - to gaining that which we want. Remember that when we put a desire into the action of manifestation, our higher mind is searching for the path that is the simplest and the most pleasant for us, or that which would somehow be valuable to our development.” “I can’t stress this enough, but when we insist that something must manifest in some particular way, we are closing the doors to the following of other, simpler paths that are only known to our higher mind. In living within our bodies, in our physical reality, we can only see the few immediate steps before us. Our higher mind, however, sees the whole path. Think of this as driving a car at night - we could see only the few meters ahead lit up by our headlights, but on keeping upon the road, we get to our destination, no matter how far it is away.” “Of course, you can win the lottery and have a lot of money just like that, but, normally, the road to abundance is plodding and takes some time. Yet, maybe your higher mind is whispering to you that you have certain hidden talents. Employing these will 74
speed up your journey, and make it a happy one. Indeed, once you discover these, you will certainly provide some sort of value that will benefit others in many different ways, and then when you gain that abundance, in return, this gain will be a thousand times more satisfactory than winning the lottery. I’m not saying that playing the lottery is bad. Success at it can be very helpful in bringing abundance to your life, because in having this come about, you have the chance to discover your emotions and beliefs towards abundance.” “In order to be in a state for bringing large amount of abundance in the form of money into your life, you have to imagine how would you be when you achieve this, especially how you would feel. From that position, it is important to see that really big money is not so big money. What counts is contentment. I would recommend that on getting your bank statement, write upon it the amount of money that you want to have and look at this every day. On doing this, you will soon find the proper emotional state for achieving it.” “In your quest for abundance in the form of money, you have to remember that money is only an exchange of energy. So in order to be fully fulfilled, you have to bring value to others. This can be done by sharing experience, bringing happiness to others, advancing knowledge, providing services, or creating a happy and effective workplace. There are many ways of bringing value to others, but in so doing, you have to believe that what you are doing is good for others. Of course, you can gain money by cheating others or through other very empty ways, but then you have to answer the question – “Did so doing give fulfillment?’.” “All of us have some specific talent, skill or ability and these to greater or lesser degrees. If you feel that you haven’t any of the sort, it is merely that you haven’t found that specific attribute yet. Everyone is different and has something unique to contribute 75
to society, but we often fear that what we are doing is not good enough or we will get criticized for doing this. It doesn’t matter what your field of interest is. It only matters whether or not you’ve developed and share this with society. Not sharing it is like an act of selfishness in some sense, because when you do share, what you are doing may inspire some other person or help them in some way.” “We often fear that something we have created won’t be liked or it will be criticized. Of course, it will be! So what? You cannot satisfy everyone. Everyone is different, so it is simply impossible to make everyone happy with your efforts. Remember you are creating only for people who resonate with your work, with what you are contributing to society. Looking at it from this perspective, it is easier to get out of the fear of sharing your talents or creations with the world. However, doing so is quite hard for those who are shy – but one piece of advice – do it!” “One of the way of being more encouraged to do this, is to focus on the positive feedback that you can receive. After this, it is worthwhile to analyze the criticism you’ve gotten, because there may be some truth in this, and this truth will help you upgrade your work. With time, you will see that when you start sharing value with others, you will, in turn, receive some other values from them - and this can be in form of money.” “Getting back to the topic of money, it is worthwhile also to look closely to how you react when you’re spending money. Do you feel bad or insecure? Or you are buying things with pleasure with the notion that you’re exchanging one means of energy for another? How you feel can be a good indicator of whether you are feeling mere luck or feeling abundance. I’m not saying that you don’t have to save money, or that you have to spend all the money that you have at once. Of course, you have to be reasonable, but in day-to-day transactions, pay attention to what you feel when you’re spending money.” 76
“When you discover your natural, true self, you’ll have a stronger connection with your higher mind and intuition. This really could be very beneficial in bringing you new ideas in regard to making money. And remember you must feel good with what you have, and, when you do, soon you will get more of it. When you feel bad or insecure about what you have, in this moment, the universe will only deliver the lack to you. Remember too, there can be two kinds of abundance – abundance of wealth and abundance of a lack. I believe that we are wealthy only when we are rich both in the fields of the physical and the spiritual plane, and when we share these richness with others.”
HEALTH I: “Thank you for this huge insight. Now, what can you tell us about our health... about how to keep body healthy?” Dan: “Our body is a temple. It is the manifestation of the spiritual in the physical form, so it is very important to keep it in good health. It is our spacesuit – one worn so as to explore the physical world. When either the inner spiritual part or the external physical part of us is out of balance, we are suffering. There should be perfect harmony in these two and between these two.” “Almost all the air that we breath or the food that we eat, is, to some degree, contaminated now, and so are our organisms. Fortunately, we are becoming more resistant to these harmful substances. However, the detoxification of our bodies is very important. Our organism has its own great intelligence, and if we start listen to it - how we feel after eating certain foods or living in certain places, or in following certain lifestyles, we can find the best option for ourselves.” “Let’s look at the important factors in keeping our bodies in great condition. Firstly, look towards your breathing. We often tend to breathe too shallowly, and, in this way, the organism is not 77
well oxygenated. Remember too, that deep breathing is a great exercise in meditation. I recommend that you read about how to use the diaphragm correctly when breathing. What is more, when we are become more aware about our way of breathing, our degree of consciousness also develops, because these two states are interconnected. Conscious breathing is one of the ways that opens the portal to our true self.” “Two other factors are the proper hydration of the body and getting proper nutrition. Every chemical reaction in our body requires water. The best of this, of course, is clear clean water from a known good source. In regard to nutrition, getting healthy food into us, is, at times, a major feat. Almost all our food now is somehow refined and contaminated. Look how most animals are kept and what they are getting to eat! To be clear, I’m not against eating meat, but lightening up a little our diet, and following healthy eating guidelines are of great benefit for our health.” “Reading and understanding labels is one of the more important skills in keeping our bodies healthy, because we will then be aware of what we are putting inside our organisms. The more refined the food, with the more chemical additions contained within it that we take in, the more our bodies are contaminated. When we live in a big city, it is not always possible to avoid all refined foods, but reducing these to a minimum, surely will be a wonderful present for our bodies.” “Once again, listen to your body’s intelligence... but try to do this in an appropriate way. You should certainly keep away from all junk food, all sugar candies and all refined sweet products! These are addictive. To see how they are so, do a test - don’t eat them for one, or, better, two weeks and observe how you feel after that. The few first days can be terrible, because these kind of foods are like narcotics... they’re highly addictive... indeed, they’re designed to be so! But when we discard them and remove them from our diet, 78
a detoxification process takes place, and our organism begins to remove all toxins and to restore the regulation of the sugar levels inside our organisms.” “In consuming too much sugars, we acquire bad habits, and also it brings about a state wherein we eat too much because of the sugar rush in our blood. We don’t need to take in as much as food as we think. I used to eat four sandwiches at breakfast. When I became more aware and start learning about food and nutrition, I reduced my breakfast to two sandwiches, and now I need only to eat one - and I don’t feel hungry. Thanks to that, I’ve lost a few kilograms - which have never come back since then.” “I don’t want to go deep into these topics, but I do want to stress the importance of learning about how our body functions, what it needs and why we often have eating habits that are detrimental to our health.” “Exercise is also important. We are made to exercise - to walk, to run, to lift some things. We have muscles and they certainly should be trained and used. That is why we live in the physical world and to create in this world, we need the proper tools – our musculature, our skeletal systems, and all our other bodily systems. Exercising makes our bodies circulate the blood better, and this is a blood that is properly oxygenized and decontaminated. In this way, the proper nourishment of the cell is provided. It also ensures that our bodies cleanse themselves much faster.” “It can be a paradox, but the more we exercise, the more life force and energy we have. With a proper amount of exercise, the body gets used to high amounts of effort, and then we can operate more effectively. Moreover, the brain is more oxygenated and nourished and works much more better. Furthermore, our immune system is more efficient and we don’t get sick so often. What is more, we also feel much better - as our bodies create hormones that make us feel good.” 79
“I want to underline this significant fact about the emotions. To be happy, we must grow both spiritually and physically, because these two are interconnected. When we meditate, we generate more positive thoughts. These encourage us to care about our physical health. As we are today, even if we practice unhealthy life-styles, the hormones of happiness are already being created - but not to the their fullest potential! When we start caring, not only about our minds, but also our bodies, it has a double effect. We begin to operate as entities at the highest levels imaginable - as our spirits and bodies are interconnected in every aspect. Moreover, when we exercise and care about our bodies, we lose weight and become more attractive. Our self-worth grows, and this has a positive effect on our happiness hormones and then they are produced in the best possible quantities.”
RELATIONSHIPS I: “Ok! Thanks for this insight too! Speaking about attractiveness, many people feel alone these days. Where is the problem? Why are so many marriages breaking up? Why can’t people create stable relationships?” Dan: “This is all comes about because many people are trying to start such relationships from the wrong end of the stick. People who don’t discover their natural, true selves, feel bad when they are alone. They cannot sit by themselves in the silence of the solitary, they feel upset when in their own presence. They always need some distraction - the TV, the computer, the internet, meeting with friends, the bar or club - they are always escaping from being alone.” “They are attempting to escape from themselves, and, therefore, are searching for a love that will fill the emptiness inside them. In the beginning, this may be very wonderful – they feel intoxicated, but when the fascination fades, they start to see more faults in their partner. They see that he or she is not ideal and cannot fill 80
this empty space. They demand more and more. The two raise their standards. They do not want merely some sort of stuffing to be tamped into the void of their despair. Then the arguments start, and the two cannot live in that relationship. So they opt out or change their partners and repeat this scheme until this problem is solved – and the void is actually filled. What we need to remember is that any relationship acts as a mirror to ourselves. So when our relationship seem ill, we should think that our partners are mirrors to ourselves and then work on this issue – on ourselves.” “Now, look what happens when someone has discovered their true self. He or she feels perfectly comfortable being alone. In feeling happy with his or her body, mind and soul, and so filled with love to the extent that it overflows, they then embark on a relationship. Such an event comes very naturally. When we have too much happiness or love inside us, we want to share all of this. Such a situation is a different motive for the search for a life partner – and indeed, this is generally a life-long relationship.” “When two people filled with love meet, they create a relationship based on trust, they know that everyone has their own faults, and they are aware of these faults from the beginning. They love each other exactly for the way that person is. They don’t want to change anything, because they can see that their partners are already ideal. They can discuss, together, their problems or faults and work on them as partners.” “Yes, they also can have hard, tough times, but they always find way to get out of these - together. They don’t judge each other, and they help each other in their mutual development. What I like the most in these types of relationships is that the more two people live together, the more they love each other, the more they trust each other and the more intimacy there is.”
81
I: “Intimacy and what about sex?” Dan: “The problem with sex nowadays is that it is also out of balance. It is either being too propagated in the media, or it is being too withdrawn and labeled as something wrong or sinful. In the East, there is whole field of spiritual science called Tantra. This is based on the principle that the direct connection to the divine is possible through the sexual exchange of energies between a man and a woman.” “Sex itself has two plains - animalistic and divine. When it is use only to satisfy physical needs by way of a partner that we have no relationship with, it is surely wrong. On the other hand, when two people are deeply in love with each other and are building intimacy, sex is a wonderful thing and leads not only to procreation, but to the balance of the female and male energies in their bodies.” “Through sex, man can discover his feminine side, and the woman, her masculine. This can be one of many roads for discovering their natural, true selves, and in this sacred merging, they may connect to the Infinite Intelligence itself. So, as you can see, sex can be good or bad. It depends on the motives behind it.” I: “And how to bring into our lives, our ideal partner using the law of attraction?” Dan: “By understanding its laws and using its tools: The visualization – how you feel when you are with your ideal partner; The gratitude – that there is someone for you and you have already met him or her; Thanking - that the universe and your higher mind is doing everything for your meeting to take place; By reverse psychology – not thinking too much and not insisting on the how of this happening; By acting – when the opportunity comes to meet someone special, for certain, you will feel that - and then you have to just act on it!” 82
“I was alone for four years in my twenties, and I sometimes got frustrated by this. But, later, I thanked the Higher Being for that time, because then I learnt all that about relationships that I just passed onto you. And then it happened. Unexpectedly, I met the most wonderful girl in the entire world. We fell in love - and now we have been happily married for over five years. My advice is that when you are alone and you are trying hard to find someone and you don’t get any results, try to relax and allot that time for developing yourself - so when you meet someone who is truly magnificent, you will be ready to do your best inside that relationship.”
ATTACHMENT I: “But is there any sense in bringing all this to you if you can lose it and suffer because of this loss?” Dan: ”You suffer if you don’t understand properly the concept of attachment. Balance is also needed in this field. If you go too deep towards one polarity, you will start gathering too many things or worse – you will start trying to possess the other person. This comes about because you started fearing that you may lose that individual. If the fear becomes stronger, you are more strongly attached, and thus you start pushing this possessiveness, even unconsciously. Then, you start attempting to control the other, and you mistrust him or her.” “On the other hand, if you go too deep towards the other polarity, especially believing that the concept of attachment is wrong, and you feel the need for total freedom to find your true self, you will start abandoning everything in order to search for that freedom. This is often what happens to some people who set off on the quest for enlightenment. They then start becoming obsessed with things, material things, spiritual things... feelings. They cannot live fully because they have rejected the physical reality which is 83
the manifestation of the spiritual. Therefore, they have rejected spirituality as well and thus, they are still lost and not free.” “When you find balance in the concept of attachment, you will have things, abundance, intangibles... you will be inside a great relationship but you will not fear that you might lose it. You will just have enjoyment in having all of it. These things can go away one day, yet you will still be happy - because you have found your natural, true self.” “It is a self-perpetuating mobile - because when you are in this state of joy, even if these things go away, they will come back very fast. That what’s happened to those with true abundance. One day they had lost everything, yet, a short after, they have twice more than before. They, indeed, knew this would happen – and they knew how to apply this knowledge.” “When something bad happens to you, it can be a test, and through this test, you can prove to yourself that you fully understand these concepts, your beliefs, the version of reality you want to buy into. You can realize whether you are poor and disempowered or you are still rich and empowered and can meet the challenges of life. Moreover, you can discover whether you are a victim or a winner. When you choose the first out of fear, out of lack of will or strength to fight, this kind of reality will manifest until you decide to alter it.” “What is also important here, in going into this opposite polarity of possessing, when you start to feel uncontrollable fear, you are in the state of manifesting where you are saying that you don’t have any more these things. So guess what? The Universe or you yourself will find a way to get rid of these things because you are sabotaging yourself!” “When you act out of joy, out of your natural self, there might still, from some time to time, appear the fear of losing, but it 84
will disappear fast - and will only leave a sweet reminder of how happy, blessed and grateful you are, or how happy, blessed and grateful you are in being inside that wonderful relationship.” “Look, I have all that material stuff, because I like not only the beauty that was created by Nature, but also the beauty that was created by man. For example, that Ferrari - as a car - it has for me – certain extraordinary esthetic values. I felt that these values were so great that I willingly paid quite a bit of money to the builders and designers of it. I’m having fun driving it and I don’t fear that I will lose it. This may happen, but I will still be grateful for having had the wonderful experience of driving that car.” “Other people like yachts or airplanes or just bikes. Not everyone likes Ferraris, some like Porsches, some people don’t like sports car at all, some just simply don’t care what car they have - even if they have a lot of money. This is the beauty of it all – the diversity in human desires and likes, and the different visions and needs we have. Thanks to this, our world is colorful.”
UNIVERSAL FEARS I: “The subject of fear is constantly running through our interview. Can you tell me more about fear?” Dan: “Fear has many countenances. There are universal fears – ones felt by all people. These are the fear of abandonment, the fear of lack of worth or not being good enough. The fear of abandonment is the fear that comes from our first days on this planet when we are living in some kind family relationships - we need being loved in order for us to grow. Firstly, we got this from our parents and then when we left our family home, we sought someone in order not to be alone. Then we got love from our partner, but there was and is always that fear of abandonment at an unconscious level because we are dependent on that love and on acceptance from our society.”
85
“This fear changes when we discover our natural selves. We find that the source of this love was always inside us - in the temple inside of us that is connected to all existence and to God. On realizing this, we start to be independent from others. The fear of abandonment disappears because we see that there is no such thing as a disconnection from all that is. Finding this out is a tremendous experience. On learning this, where-ever we find ourselves in our lives, in any circumstances we find ourselves in, we are not alone anymore. When we achieve alignment with the Source that lies within us, then we’re attuned to the most powerful force in the universe. We start to feel that the entire planet, the universe is our home.” “The other fear is the fear of not being worthy enough. Until we discover our natural self, this fear may be dominating. We will be judging and comparing ourselves to others. What we have to realize, however, is that everyone is unique and there is no need to compare. I know I’ve already talked about this topic, but I want to add another insight into it. Look, instead of copying others, we have to develop to its full potential, our own individuality. When we become connected to all that is, this comparison is still in place, but the fear is gone. In being a Sunflower, why would we want to be a Rose? Why not instead try to be a more beautiful Sunflower?” “As I said before, comparison can be very beneficial - when we want to be good at something let’s say in playing some musical instrument, firstly, we copy the ways of other musicians - this is a natural process. But when we copy only one person’s ways of doing something or their mannerisms, we will become like that person. When we have a few idols, we gain something from every of them and then started building our own individual style. During this process, we compare ourselves to our idols, to ascertain whether we have mastered some technique or have the right feel. That kind of comparison is good and serves only as a way to developing our unique selves.”
86
“We can never satisfy every person in the entire world. We will always meet with criticism. This in reality, means that we live in a magnificent world with six billion different people.” “There are other kinds of fears in life. These are important and these play certain roles in our growth. Fears are the ways through which we can gain new abilities or skills or simply build our selfworthiness. Fears should be also treated like challenges - as then we can shift their energies, because fear is often associated as something negative, while challenge as positive.”
87
CHAPTER IV REFLECTIVE REALITY REFLECTIVE REALITY AND ITS MIRRORS Dan: “I want to add that there is no way of bypassing or walking around these fears. If you somehow manage to do so, they will come back to you as stronger manifestations. Firstly, they could be very subtle, but unresolved issues involving fears will always be brought back to us reinforced.” “This is a reflective reality, and, as I said before, the universe works like a mirror for ourselves. We can be mirrored in other people, animals, in circumstances and in many other ways and things. We can learn a lot by asking questions as to what this possibly means when something bad or weird is going on in our lives. For certain, however, it is happening for our own good. Because we always are given what can we handle and to learn from as a valuable lesson, and when the certain pattern is healed over and the fear overcome, we are growing.” I: “Ok but how we can differentiate these mirrors. Is there some division in them?”
DIRECT REFLECTION Dan: “Yes of course, One of the most recognized mirrors is what I described in the law of attraction - what we give to the world, comes back to us. When we are enraged or angered, we often meet people with similar attitudes. When we are happy and joyful, we attract the same.”
88
REFLECTION OF JUDGMENT Dan: “Yet it can happen that someone whom we have some interactions with, or the present situation we’re in truly doesn’t reflect our current state of being. This situation may be only the reflection of a past attraction - because of the time buffer - or it could be another mirror that is at work. This one, the mirror of judgment, reflects what we are judging at the moment, or some unresolved issued of judgment from the past. So it is, in a way, an aspect of history.” “This mirror may have been acting within our lives unnoticed for a long time until the issue it is reflecting was resolved. For example, in regard to judging others in regard to the issue of honesty... It is hard for us to trust someone else, and this lack of trust may have come about because we were hurt deeply in the past. However, when we recognize the pattern reflected by this particular mirror, it is the truly time to use the virtue of forgiveness and understanding.” “As what this mirror reflects is healed, we have a cascading effect, and every other issue seen in this mirror is also healed - because of the holographic nature of the universe. Look at an analogy wherein you have a few mirrors in your room and you are trying to change your reflection as seen in each mirror. The moment you change what is reflected in one mirror, each other mirror automatically changes too. This is exactly how it works.” “This mirror of judgment may appear in many different forms, and it is sometimes very hard to recognize it because of its subtleness. In life, you will meet people with certain features that you have difficulties to accept, or you will no doubt judge others for the addictions they have, among them, alcoholism or drugs. There is also a possibility that you can unconsciously get into relationships that mirrors something to you about the issue of control, and you may wonder why your attempt at control isn’t working. Yet, as you look deeper into it, you may perceive that 89
may be what is happening is not because of the other person - but because of you.”
REFLECTION OF MISSING PARTS Dan: “We are also brought into contact with other people for different reasons. One of these is to gain or see the things that we lack to fullest expression within ourselves. We could have lost these, given these away or they were taken away from us by force. First and most important thing that we give away in order to experience the physical reality is the opposite energy. The soul is genderless, so when we come in possession of our bodies, our soul chooses either to be a man or a women - and later we seek the opposite in another person. As I said earlier, that is why we need to balance these energies.” “It may happen that, for example, a man has had a very abusive childhood and this masculine energy was given away or taken from him. Later in life, he firstly will be drawn to spending time with a person of the same sex. This may not necessarily mean that he is attracted sexually to the same gender, but he may feel that he needs to spent more time with men than women. This may trigger the judgment that something is wrong with us and we then place the blame onto ourselves. But after the realization of the things that we seek in other people of the same gender, we may find and restore them in ourselves.” “One of the most common things that we give up when we grow up is childish curiosity and innocence. In most cases this loss happens because society forces us to do so. We have to be downto-earth, we then forget how to dream, how to live magically, we forget about fairytales... we have to be mature in the subjective terms of the society. But in so doing, we lose this sense of childish wonder of life, of Nature. Consciously, we usually forget this loss, yet later in our lives, we meet someone who has exactly what we are looking for – someone who still has some of this. Our higher 90
mind has sent us a signal and we are unconsciously attracted to that someone, being not fully aware of the reason. But when we discover and restore this lost child-like curiosity in ourselves, sometimes we abandon that relationship because it serves us no longer. On the other hand, we may decide to continue it, maybe for the reason of simply enjoying each other company.” “Sometimes this can happen in marriages - that husband or wife meets someone of the opposite sex and are attracted to that person. Then they feel bad about it, about how it could have happened to them because they genuinely love their partners. What we must realize, though, is that most of the time, this attraction does not mean that we have fallen in love in that someone else. In actuality, it came about because that other person is mirroring something to us that we have given away or lost - the part of ourselves that we unconsciously seek.” “The knowledge of how this mirror works is very beneficial in avoiding unnecessary judgments of such situations. Simply, when you understand why you were attracted to that other person and you restore that part in yourself, this attraction is gone. This also may be the reason why sometimes a fascination disappears and does not become a true love between two persons.”
REFLECTION IN ADDICTIONS Dan: “The finding of lost pieces of ourselves may also occur in other circumstances – through the issues of addiction or compulsion. However, alcoholism or drug addiction often reflect issues of control in the family or the working world. These patterns often unfold so gradually that we perceive them as a part of our character or ourselves. When this is happening, we are giving away in tiny torn pieces, little by little, what we hold most dear in our lives.”
91
“The issues of control may be seen in a child leaving their abusive parents. Generally, that child’s next act is ceasing all contact with them. Until those parents realize the pattern that they present, they will also lose other things from their lives. The same may occur in any form of addiction - we lose our family, friends and jobs. For some people, their career is a form of addiction in that it is the most important thing in their lives, so they sacrifice everything else in order to be on the top. The addiction will continue until such time as it is truly recognized.” “This is a very powerful mirror, because it teaches us humbleness and makes us rethink our lives. Once we recognize the pattern we have been acting upon, it can be healed through the virtues of forgiveness and understanding. Indeed, it is most important to learn how to forgive ourselves.” “For example, we can have very low self-esteem, therefore, we feel the need to be in control of everything and everyone all the time. Because of this, we may have given away our families and friends, and people at work don’t like us. We get only negativity from our surroundings. Yet, when it gets to the point when we have had enough, and we find in self reflection that what is, is not something wrong with others, but with us, we seek a way to heal and to understand how that mirror works. That is, if we want to heal. Learning how to meditate and see ourselves from a distance is of great benefit in recognizing patterns. It is also a time when we can fight back and gain everything that we love and have lost.”
SIMULTANEOUS REFLECTIONS Dan: “These mirrors often occur simultaneously. I will give you another example. Say we have parents that are addicted to alcohol, and this addiction was created by them for some reason, and they now seek a way for knowing themselves in this addiction. They are working with one of the mirrors, while you are a witness and often are active participant in their mirroring because you judge 92
them and get angry. It is another mirror – the mirror of judgment - that works simultaneously, and often in a day to day reaction: when one of you feels anger, it is reflected by the other side – here, the basic mirror of reflection is at work.” “Returning to the example of alcoholism... Once you stop judge them and stop bear grudges, for example, for their wasting your childhood, you heal yourself by way of the mirror of judgment, and your emotions and attitude towards them change. This state will be of a better help to them. What is more, sometimes, we decide to leave them, because there is no way to live with such persons and this is when the mirror of giving away works. They, by their addiction, give away their children. In doing that, they have the opportunity to reflect upon their lives and fix what doesn’t work.” “We meet these mirrors in our everyday lives and when we become more aware of them, we are able to more easily understand them and why they occur - and what is more - help others to recognize them.” I:”But how does these mirrors relate to finding your true self and to the law of attraction?” Dan: “It is all interconnected. As I mentioned before, we are made to grow, to develop not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Everyone is different – someone will need a some kind of shocking experience in life in order to trigger his or her spiritual growth, while someone else will be naturally pulled into this direction starting from birth.” “Some mirrors are the signs on our life’s road. These indicate to us our obstacles to growth. In dealing with them, we are restoring the parts of ourselves that were somehow lost. We learn how to step out of our comfort zone and to conquer fear, and, thus, we will be more close to finding our natural true self.”
93
“Some diseases, for example, may be a mirror of the unhealthy style of life we’re leading. They are saying – ‘Hey buddy! Do something with your life! Eat healthier! Get your ass to work! Exercise or your body will just stop working!’. Sometimes, people do need a serious kick in their lives so as to make an effort to change.... to recognize that something is wrong. This shock is what exactly is needed.” “One of my favorite stories is about the Master and Apprentice in Zen Buddhism. The Appretice has been learning for few years in order to reach the State of Enlightenment. However, nothing has worked. He just gets more problems, more stray thoughts... more clouds in his sky. He has tried to get there mentally by way of a problem-solving approach... still... no success. The Master, seeing that nothing has worked, picks up a thick stick and hits his Apprentice in his head. That was something so unexpected that the Apprentice stops thinking, and, right away, enters into that state of a clear sky. This is so simple and beautiful a story, and it shows how any kind of shock in our lives may catapult us exactly into the now.” “Look how some people like extreme sports. They like to be on the edge because it puts them into a meditative state, into the now. They know that each second is about life and death - and they don’t have time to think about the past or the future - they live exactly in the now. This can come about when we travel and discover a beautiful view and we are enthralled by its magnificence. We then enter into the now - our thinking stops.” “At any time of our life, we can be drawn into searching for that meditative state, and by clearing our skies, we would more smartly recognize the lessons that life is giving to us or gave us in the past. Yes, even if we lost in the past some battles, we may still gain lessons from them, because, as we enter into a new level of consciousness, we will perceive them from a different angle.” 94
“It may also happen in a way that some person has had problems in life, and by studying the law of attraction alone, he or she can fix and heal all the aspects of life that had suffered. Then he or she could be drawn towards spiritual growth. This yearning can happen in many different ways because everyone is different, and everyone reacts to different stimuli – all of which are given from the higher mind. But, remember, these are only clues. Our higher mind serves only as a guide. It cannot stand beside us and tell us what to do. If it did so, there wouldn’t be any learning.” “When you are aware of all these aspects... how the universe works – its mirrors, how they function, and that the law of attraction is connected to these mirrors... when we understand and see our natural, true selves and why discovering this helps us in personal growth... when we see and understand the role of our higher mind, of the intuition - we have a greater, more cohesive and holistic picture of reality. Moreover, we are then able to recognize all these patterns, not only in our own lives, but also in the lives of others. What is more, our lives, as I said before, become a masterpiece of art.”
95
CHAPTER V ENERGY CENTERS Dan: “I mentioned that diseases may be a reflection of our unhealthy style of living, but they also may indicate that we have imbalance in one of the energy centers and have some unresolved emotional issues. According to ancient and indigenous traditions, we have seven energy centers in our bodies. These are called ‘Chakras’. Some new schools now distinguish more of them, for example, thirteen. Blockages or disturbances in these energy centers cause imbalances in our bodies, in our feelings and emotions, as well as illness. For the best functionality in each center, energy must flow naturally and should be balanced. This means if there is too low or too high an energy stream - it is harmful to us.” “If one of the Chakras has too much energy, there will be not enough in others. It will shine too much on the picture of our body. Indeed, one of them can have an insufficient level and then it will be dimmed and not shine enough upon our body. The techniques that I have presented earlier can be use to bring balance here. Of note, the physical energy centers are of the same value as the spiritual.”
THE FIRST PHYSICAL CENTER Dan: “The first energy center can be visualized as being at the bottom of the spine, between our legs. This is the place where the connection to the material world is made – the connection to Earth and to Nature. It is responsible mainly for our physical survival and instincts.” “Here, we have a test of security – whether we feel secure and confident in life or we act out of fear and we try to survive in what we perceive as a malicious world instead of a secure home. This is the place where our beliefs exist about this world.” 96
“When this energy center is at balance, our body is healthy and energized, we feel that there is enough things for everyone in the world, there is no such thing as luck, we feel secure, and as I said – the entire planet Earth is our home. We fully appreciate our physical body and we love it.” “Being out of balance - when the energy is too low - we have lack of confidence in life and we act out of fear. Our path is not of joy, but of constant trying to survive in a world which seems an evil place, and from which we need to find shelter. We often buy into the beliefs of others and act out of them. We do what others expect us to do, and, even if we succeed in life, we are not satisfied. We isolate ourselves from others and treat them as possible dangers. We fear being abandoned and left alone.” “While we have too much energy in this center, we are never content with what we have. We always search for more - being unsatisfied in taking part in the rat race. Many people with too much energy here, have a lot of money, but still they feel insecure and yearn even for more money or power. This is what I called the law of the jungle at play – our survival instinct is most important for us. When too much energy is gathered here, we only see physical reality and nothing beyond its realms.” “The best way to balance energy in the first center is through the feeling of gratitude. In practicing it, we are more grounded. We appreciate what we already have and even if we desire more, it won’t be a fight for us, rather a pleasurable journey to that goal, one accompanied by the respect of others. The next thing in balancing it, is by entering Nature’s realm – feeling and contemplating Her wonderful presence. Finding our ideal place to live is also of great benefit – some people love to live close to Nature in small countryside villages, while others like big crowded cities. Some like working in big cities and rest in the natural world. It all depends on personal needs.” 97
“In finding a center point here, we are in the best possible positioning for manifesting things in our physical reality. In feeling good with our bodies, in appreciating the little things we have, we gain the opportunity to experience more of them.”
THE SECOND PHYSICAL CENTER Dan: “This center is located a little bit higher up in our bodies, and it is often associating with our sexuality. It is where we feel our sexual energy. The energy created is not only found in the meaning of bringing new life into the world, but also in the creative forms of culture – in art, poetry, music - or in implementing new ideas into the physical world. However, it also has different functions. The world of emotions is located here, and it is responsible for finding joy in our lives. Moreover, it is where our internal magnetism comes from - our attractiveness” “Being at balance, this center is responsible for the proper feeling of pleasures. Mere pleasure is something simple to get, but achieving satisfaction through it and saying stop at the appropriate moment is an art. We must learn how to experience the pleasures that are fully of the moment - instead of chasing for one another.” “When the energy is too low, we don’t feel satisfaction from pleasures. We have a very low libido level, and our sexual lives don’t satisfy us. We may be shy and not feel satisfaction from life. In addition, frustration and anger may arise. If we feel some grudges, the flow of energy in this center also is narrowed. Blockages may be also caused by our beliefs, for example, about sex - which may result in feeling guilty.” “In being overactive, this center may cause sexual deviation, as well as addiction, not only to sex, but also to alcohol, drugs - even chocolate. We will be chasing pleasure with a hunger that cannot be satisfied. What is more, we would be jealous and envious of others because they have more.” 98
“Gratitude is also a good tool to finding balance here. When we are grateful for all little pleasures in everyday life, we can more fully live them. It teleports us in the present moment. But using forgiveness is also a great tool in bringing equilibrium here. When we forgive not only others, but also us, we no longer live in the past and we no longer hold any grudges.” “Through using these two tools, we can restore the natural flow of energy in this center. Doing so may mean both the unblocking of a gridlock, or, if we have too much energy here, pushing it to the other energy centers. When there is balance, we feel joyful and happy and we are in natural state for creating and bringing more good stuff into our lives.”
THE THIRD PHYSICAL CENTER Dan: “This can be visualized as being at the place called the ‘solar plexus’. It is the place of our physical individuality, our ego. It is responsible for our own power, self-confidence, self-discipline, self-control, ethics and moral codes. When there is too much energy in the second physical center, it cannot be direct here, as it is here where we draw the borderlines to our pleasures.” “This is the place of the healthy ego. When we have an ideal symbiosis with it, this energy center is at balance. We then have a huge willpower to do things that are even beyond our reach. Moreover, we have more motivation to act.” “Being out of balance - when the energy is too low - we are very submissive and constantly feel guilty when saying no. We often do this to be accepted because of our lack of self-worth and confidence Our lives may then be subdued to the needs of others. This can be a trap – when we help others out of pure joy - we feel empowered, while in doing the same out of fear of being rejected – we feel humiliated. This is the place where being assertive comes from. A lack of energy here may also come about when we have the belief 99
that we should serve others firstly instead of ourselves - as I said when speaking about positive egoism.” “The energy being too high in this center is the main cause of issues of control. We want to control everyone and everything and we lack the sense of self-criticism. We literally search for battles to fight. We love adrenaline. This can be very similar to an unbalanced first center, but in there, it is unconscious and based on instincts, while in here, in the third center, it is conscious and is caused by an out-of-balance ego and its never ending chase of achievement.” “In having the right amount of energy here, we can easily discern which battles are worth fighting and which are not. We will also have a very deep sense of self-awareness. Moreover, being assertive and saying no without the feeling of guilt is of no problem to us. We get the rid of the need to be right all the time and instead of fighting with others, we are more able to cooperate with them. Diplomacy and the art of comprise is a natural indication of harmony in this energy center.” “The best tool to use here to restore or keep balance - is mediation. This is because through this act, we get rid of all the filters, improperly programmed sensors and beliefs and we perceive the reality from our cleared skies. In meditation, we become only a natural observer, and from that point, we can learn to have a dialogue with our ego and bring balance. When the flow of energy is restored in these three centers, it will naturally go up to the higher spiritual centers of ourselves.”
THE FIRST SPIRITUAL CENTER Dan: “The First Spiritual Center is located at the top of our head, and it is responsible for our connection to the divine, to the spiritual world. People who are atheists often has this energy center blocked. However, when our energy is directed towards the 100
spiritual centers, we are more aware of the non-physical reality that surrounds our world.” “When this center is energetically low, we live only in the material world, and are not aware of the spiritual side of ourselves. We feel that there is no purpose in life and in the world’s existence. We can be overwhelmed by fear - especially when we are alone. Moreover, we are unconsciously afraid of what may hide behind the walls of the material world.” “Spiritual energy is often very vital in children, but, later, can be more and more blocked by the influence of the external world. Indeed, young children very often readily perceive the nonphysical world. However, later they lose that ability in order to survive within society and to not be considered as mentally ill.” “Where there is too much energy in this center, we often live in an imaginary world. In addition, we escape from the reality that our physical bodies occupies. In having insight and in feeling the spiritual world, there is also a danger impose upon our ego’s need to feel special - we may feel that we are better than others. This is a trap. The energy is blocked here and it cannot flow farther to the most important energy center - that which is localized in our heart. This may come about when we believe that spirituality and the spiritual world is more important than the physical. When this happens, we only concentrate on the spiritual energetic centers and direct all energy there. This sometimes comes about when people are chasing for some great insights in this field, and in so doing, often forget about their physical development. This action may cause mental disorders or diseases.” “When we have balance in this center, we feel the connection to the divine and also see the same connection in the people who haven’t discovered it yet. What is more, we are fully integrated with our natural observer, with our true self.” 101
THE SECOND SPIRITUAL CENTER Dan: “Located between our eyes, is something sometimes called the ‘Third-Eye’. Its purpose is to bring about a connection to the higher mind and transmit the knowledge from it to the physical ego through visions, inspirations and feelings. It is where the connection to intuition is, and where imagination resides. When this center is fully functional, we can discern and interpret the signs in our lives. We also know that imagination is a powerful tool in creating our reality. Moreover, we realize that which is our true passion in life, as well as our life’s road - and then we go along that road.” “When the energy is too low in this center, we don’t trust our intuition. We don’t believe that our imagination has the power to change reality. We may also have problems with concentration and visualization. In addition, there are difficulties in holding a connection to the higher mind.” “When this energy center is overactive, it functions as a place of escape from the world. In such a situation, we can live too much in the world of our imagination, and not have enough interaction with the physical world. We think too much and dream too much and do too little. This is the reason why many people who practice the law of attraction don’t get the results they want - because they think and visualize too much, instead of bringing those visions into physical manifestation.” “Acknowledging that our imagination and our higher mind has the power to create the life our dreams is one of the ways of bringing balance here – as is trusting these other integral parts of ourselves. We also must accept that we don’t have to know how everything is going to unfold in our lives. Balance is also gained through trusting that when we need something, it will be given to us in the exact time and place when and where we need it. We have to realize too that synchronicity also comes from this place. 102
It is through the Third -Eye that we find that we are exactly where we should be to meet some person or to do some things that are of importance to us.” “In achieving balance here, we also must acknowledge that the spiritual and the physical is equal and is of the same importance. Neither of these two worlds is better than other. In acknowledging this, we know what is real and what is only a figment of our imagination. This helps greatly in overcoming the fears that we have in our mind.”
THE THIRD SPIRITUAL CENTER Dan: “This is the center located at the place of our throat. In some schools, it is also divided into two centers – the second is located where our mouths are. This is the spiritual center of our individuality. It is similar to the third physical center - where we express our ego – but, here, we express our soul. When enough energy is flowing through it, we find our natural talents, skills and abilities. Not everyone can be an artist, but this center also influence career choices and activity, business practices or simply being a shiny examples in family life.” “When we fully acknowledge our individuality and stop trying to be someone special, we, paradoxically, become someone special. We are truly different than others. In recognizing our individuality, we can fully express ourselves, and, thus, our expression has this internal power – whether it is by simply speaking or creating art, music, poetry or writing books. We still can be criticized, but when we create from our souls, we know deeply that it is for benefit of others and we don’t care about the negativity in that criticism only the things that are valuable to our further growth.” “When we meditate, we see ourselves from a distance, as well as genuinely recognizing our beliefs. It is where we find our true voice - not the echoed voice of others. What is more, we gain the ability to 103
discern this also in other people. We know when they speak from their true selves or have the voice of the beliefs of a society.” “This is the place where we can synthesize many different world views, philosophies, religions, spiritual paths and cultures. In acknowledging them as equals, we can see beauty in each and learn that which is valuable from each. Inside us grows this need for wisdom and the need for knowing more - and then we learn with pleasure. Through the energy flowing through this center, we are very flexible in jumping from one world view to another – yet this doesn’t mean that we abandon universal moral codes or values - rather this means that we are growing.” “In having enough energy in this center, we speak with courage. We also know how to think innovatively - because we are connected to a collective consciousness.” “In being out of balance and having too low an amount of energy here, we cannot express ourselves - our needs. We feel that our insights are worthless and we often sit in silence, for example, in some meeting. Yes - it is important to learn how to think differently - but without expressing those ideas in the physical world, we won’t be a creative conscious creator of it - for instance, if we have to go on stage and give a speech. Our anxiety then is caused by the collective energy of the audience. It can paralyzed us or we can use it to our benefit - grabbing that energy and riding upon it. One warning: the worst thing to do is to try to calm that anxiety because then our speech will be without emotions – it will be dull and boring.” “Too much energy in this center is evident in our holding onto some beliefs and treating them as being the ultimate truth. What is more, it is seen in people expressing these violently throughout the world. This often happens in many religions or in diverse sects. Our minds then are no longer free. We are endangered by fanaticism. If others don’t accepts our views of the world, we fight with them 104
- defending our ‘truths’ instead respecting their opinions. Yet, in communicating only the right to our independence of thought, we then offer a different type energy and we don’t violate the will of others.” “Society needs the voice of criticism. It needs unique voices, because these voices often bring about progress. They don’t allow society to stagnate. These words stimulate imagination, force people to think and find their own voice. Art, music, prose and poetry is made to bypass all filters and get straight into the soul of the listener. These notions enter into the last – the Seventh Energy Center - where true self resides.”
THE SEVENTH CENTER Dan: “This chakra lies in the heart and it is the place of connection of the spiritual with the physical – the three higher centers with three lower centers. It is the center of unconditional love. When the three upper and the three lower are at a balance, we are fully expressing our true self and we are in the best position for transmitting unconditional love.” “From this place, we not only see and mentally understand that everything is one and that we are all connected, but we feel it through direct experience. This feeling starts initially in the first spiritual energetic center, but here it is brought to the fullest potential. In living from the Seventh Center, we live from the heart. We transcend dualities and polarity. We live fully in the moment, in the now.” “To bring balance and energy to this center, we use tools of gratitude and forgiveness, as well as understanding. This is the understanding that everyone has their own path of growth and act from their highest potential in each moment - that instead of fighting with our kind, we can work together.”
105
“This center also can be imbalanced. When there is too much energy, we can feel too much empathy and we constantly worry about others. It doing this, we unconsciously attach ourselves to suffering and sadness. If we are suffering because of others suffering, we only increase the amount of suffering in this world. Instead, we should act out of compassion - we should do something to help them to ease the pain.”

CHAPTER VI ULTIMATE FREEDOM I: “I’m afraid that our time is almost over. Can you summarize your message a bit?” Dan: “There is only a growth in Nature. When we grow, we feel happy and joyful and we are fulfilled. We build wonderful love and great relationships. We are creative, healthy and we are able to manifest anything that we desire into our lives. But in order to grow, firstly, we have to discover our natural self. This is the first and the most important point.” “We start changing the world by first changing ourselves. When we learn how to be a conductor of universal love – to move this from the higher spiritual planes to physical reality, we can start work on our emotions and the concepts of balance. In addition, we can start working on our spiritual lives, our physical bodies, our imaginations. Moreover, in so doing, we will start to recognize the mirrors in our lives and how they work. We also will start to recognize the energy centers and where any imbalance has occurred. When the time comes, we shall start to share with the world, our love, our passion and our talents. If we start to share our values with others, we then will bring wealth into our lives, we will be able to do things that we have dreamt of. Furthermore, the more wealth we have, the more people we can help and the more happy we are. For me, this is the ultimate expression of freedom.” “The human is the only being that has choice, that is capable of using the freedom that he was given. A human also has the potential to fall lower than the animals or to go higher than the angels - and which possibility is only limited by choice. All other animals don’t have that choice - they are programmed by Nature. They have instincts and they follow these. People often act the same, they somehow choose to be enslaved. They feel comfortable 107
in this golden cage where others say what to do and what not to do – and what life should be like.” “Almost all of us live in a democratic world, but we don’t really want to be free. If we want to be free, we need to be fully responsible for our lives and our choices and we don’t like that idea. In our chosen golden cage, there is order, and when freedom is given to our lives, we think that chaos will appear, but we must remember - from chaos, the stars are born.” “If we want to go higher than the angels, there will be risk. The temptation is in each moment, to choose the more easy path and to fall lower than the animals. The first path is hard and often require hard work to ascend. Climbing and effort is required. The second path descends and the descent, seemingly easy, can rapidly get out of control. But if we choose to be free and take full responsibility for our lives, and start climbing higher. If we be persistent and never give up and to rise up from each defeat - we surely will be successful.”
THE SCALES “Another factor in achieving ultimate freedom is the ability of balancing the scales in every aspect of life. This, however, is not like achieving balance and staying at that point. Many people try to do that and they focus too much upon it. You cannot stay in the middle all the time. You can go crazy in attempting this. This comes about because of the belief that people should be in balance, and, automatically, they judge themselves negatively if it seems not so. Then, they are out of kilter once more.” “We have to remember that the Universe and life in general, is in constant change, in constant motion. This is one of its fundamental laws. In looking at it all in this way, finding a balance means gaining and developing the ability to shift about to maintain a balance upon these scales. It is like a man who 108
walks on a tight-rope that is strung between two buildings or two cliffs. He constantly tilts from left to right. Sometimes these are small tilts and sometimes big tilts. It is the same in life. In being a modern alchemist, we not only have to acquire the ability to transform energetic patterns, but also to be skillful in balancing. We have to admit that we are human – we are both perfect and imperfect - so we can make mistakes and we learn from them.” “I’ll continue with another analogy about a tight-rope. This is about things like joy, light and love. Both on each side of this rope is sadness, and the middle of it is joy. Joy is the most desirable state. The rope itself stretches from birth to death. When you get just a little to one of the sides of joy, a return to the perfect balance point will be easier. You may move in a straight line a while, but when a strong gust of wind is met with in life, that makes another tilt - maybe a big one this time - and the return to the middle could be harder. For this type of balance, the most important notion is to remember to not judge yourself. Judging will be like another gust of wind - one self-created - that pushes you away from the middle.” “Remember also not to consider sadness as something bad, when you classify it as something bad, you start to resist, and, in this way, paradoxically, it will be harder to get out of it. Yes, it is unpleasant to be sad, and, for sure, it is not a desirable state, but as it happens, try to be fully in it because there could be a lesson learned. This lesson offers a way of getting out – and this lesson is to accept and not to struggle.” “I’m not saying that you have to be constantly in that state. As I said, it is not a desirable emotion, but don’t mark it down as a bad one - because an unconscious judgment may appear. Acceptance here means not only that you accept it, but that you also find a way out of it.”
109
“There are also tight-ropes where on each side there are opposite things such as: the spiritual world and the physical world, hot and cold, too much attachment and too less, too much eating or too less - and so on. In this type of tight-rope, when you are going too far into one direction, you’ll cross the middle threshold and automatically go into the other direction.” “In both types, you need to get, develop and ultimately be a master of balancing. It is one of the main keys to achieving the perfect life – that which you truly want. To develop such skill, you need to develop your consciousness, to perceive life and things more clearly, to uncover your natural intelligence and intuition. Please note: You don’t need to read a thousand books to understand these concepts and be a master of your life!” “You may get knowledge from books and other sources. Yet, often this knowledge can be different, and you will be wondering which road to take or which path to follow. In reality, all the wisdom that you need lies inside you, and until you discover it, you will be always searching. But, when you unravel it, the search will be over. I’m not saying that you must stop reading books. Indeed, maybe you need to start reading more books to gain different unique perspectives. But after that discovery all what you will be doing then will be of a different kind, from a different person, from a different consciousness.”

EPILOGUE Dan showed me the way to the door. I thanked him, got my jacket and when I left, the sun was already setting and the first stars had started to appear in the evening sky. There was too much information in my head and I felt like my brain was a huge bomb which was going to explode. I made sure that everything was recorded and then I started walking down the alley to the train station. I still had about two hours to wait for the last train. It was definitely one of those first warm spring evenings. I passed all the houses in the village, and there was, like, about three miles to the station. I decided to take a longer route. Dan told me that there is a picturesque road near-by with a wonderful view out over the valley. I climb the hill a little and now I was surrounded by magnificent meadows. The flowers there, being submerged in the last rays of sun, had just started to wake up from their winter slumber. I was transfixed by the entire scene, and, despite, the fact that ground was cold at this time of the year, I decided to sit and watch in awe the setting of the sun. I then started to take deep breaths... one after another... When my mind became calm, I switched to a technique that Dan had showed me. I took a breath, stopped for a while, released the air and then stopped for a while. After a few breaths done in this way, it came to me. For the first time in my life, my mind stopped racing. It was just like a strike of lightning - I was catapulted in the exact moment where I was. I was just exactly there - not a minute before or later. I was not in my thoughts or in the past or in the future – just in the moment - just there. For a while, I felt like I had schizophrenia, but when my thoughts evaporated, I was in perfect, peaceful solitude watching the horizon glistening with the colors of the fading day and hearing the sounds of the evening that were more clearer and beautiful than they were ever before in my life. 111
I felt a little dizzy, so I laid my head to the ground and carried my eyes toward what now became almost a night sky. The stars then started to sung their song. I lost the feeling of distance between me and them. They were like little points of light just a few centimeters above me. I then realized that I was even further into space. This was a very odd, very weird feeling - like being in two places at the same time. I had always dreamt about flying, going into space and traveling through it - now this was happening, but not in a spaceship made of steel. In this very moment, my consciousness was a spaceship drifting within an endless ocean of tranquil expanse. The swirling galaxies made an extraordinary view. I lost all sense of time. Where I was, there was neither beginning nor end. I flew into what I could call a black hole. There was nothing except absolute darkness. I thought that I had died, but I was still aware. I was pure consciousness - detached from my body. Suddenly, from out of the darkness, I started to see some mathematical formulas, geometric and fractal structures. In that state, I understood them all. I knew then how all the principles of mathematics work – how the entire universe is - because I was not limited to my physical brain. I knew how perfect all is and that behind it all there was something. This universe was definitively created by someone or something. I thought: “I wish to meet you” and the answer came just in the moment of its expression. I was bathed in a light that couldn’t be described. This place was a temple, my temple and the light was so ancient and as mysterious as the soul itself. I was that light and this light was me. This light was love – a love that transcends all the dimension of space and time and all the dimensions of non-space and non-time. I realized that there is nothing outside of it... indeed, even that there is no definition of outsideness. I understood that this love underlies all life forms, all universes.
112
I knew I have to come back because our mission, our destination is not to trip to that nirvana state and stay there forever inside some eternal distant heaven. If it was so, then the whole universe - with all its schools, worlds and hierarchies - wouldn’t be needed, nor created. I now knew that all was created due to a purpose - a definitely profound purpose. This was to create, expand and express this intelligence. I now knew that all life and all worlds are like a great experiment that has no beginning and no end. In this experiment, there are a thousand possibilities and billions of life forms creating magnificent spaces, dimensions and worlds, exchanging information, visions, knowledge, dreams, love. We are the unique explorers of these worlds... but we are not only explorers. We have the power to create as this Intelligence. Through it, we can redefine our reality to any we want. I now knew that whether we want to live in happiness or in sadness, be poor or rich, be healthy or ill is all dependent upon us. These all are polarities interwoven in an eternal dance. I now knew that the moment we stop neglecting one or the other side of this coin and start perceiving them as equal and coming from the same source, we will be able to transcend polarities and become unity. In acknowledging that this two-sided coin came from our Creator, we will be in a position where we can freely and without effort, choose the side we want to experience, and thus create it in our lives. In not being aware of this choice, we have been skipping from one side to other, choosing that side randomly and by default, and often believing that our fate was already predestined. And from that moment onwards, I knew I had to acknowledge that darkness is only the absence of light, that evil is only the absence of love. Moreover, that the all comes from the Creator, from God - this Infinite Intelligence. I now understood all the “whys” from my life – that I had come here onto this Earth to experience all that darkness in order to 113
get touch with myself, my true self, because, there, in the deepest darkness, is the place where the stars are most needed, and, in the darkness, the stars shine most brightly. I realized that I had decided to wear this physical suit to forget that all and to experience physical reality from the unique point of view of a single human, a divine human. The whole then started to swirl once again and I regain the feeling in my body. My tears, I knew, were falling down my cheeks. I had these electric shivers through my spine. I looked towards the vastness ocean of the night sky and could think of only one word: “love”. I then got to my feet and walked to my train with joy in my heart. I came back home totally changed. Everything was different, the whole world seemed a different place. Then, I realized that when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at... change. For the first time in my life, I felt this bliss, this ease – this just pure joy inside me. I couldn’t stop smiling. That night was hard to find sleep in. The next day, I had to listen to the recordings and make short notes for the magazine. As my boss wanted this interview to be in the next issue, I decided to call him and ask for one more day and I assured him that I will manage to put the article together in only one night. The next day though, I had other plans. I decided to call my wife. She was very surprised, but she definitely felt that something was going on. She asked me: “You sound completely different, what happened?”. I only answered: “We have to meet! I must tell you something!” That tomorrow was another day of beautiful spring weather. I asked her if we could met in the place where we used to go when we had started dating. It was an old Italian restaurant, and it had a very good vibe, yet at the same time, it was a cozy place. We sat down at a table and chatted for about two hours. I had to tell her everything I had gone through. She then told me everything 114
about her life from the moment she had left me. While listening, I noticed that when I changed, our relationship also had changed. Something was different. Not only had I gained the possibility to listen more and to truly understand, but there was this connection on an entirely different level. We paid our bill, went outside and decided to stroll about a bit encouraged by another warm night. The moon was shining upon us both in all her magnificence. I stopped and looked into her eyes. It was like an interstellar trip through vastness of space - and it was the most enjoyable trip in my entire life. I could now sense this oneness in her, the expression of the divine. I knew now that I had the possibility to love what was definitively something out of this world that was forgotten and hidden inside a human body. I had fallen in love with her physical being and personality long time ago, and that fire, that passion was now definitively renewed. But there was also something else this time - I fell in love with her soul...
