Bob Beck said many times: “I AM ABOUT MY FATHER’S WORK” YOU ARE THERE AT THE BREAKFAST MEETINGS to observe, inquire (ask questions and listen to the answers), hear what is wanted, get a feeling for detail and deadlines, smell the coffee and taste the grapefruit juice and poached/scrambled eggs of genius and insight in the air! Bob had answers and he shared them freely at the weekly breakfast meeting, and at the Science Congresses in Denver and the Alternative Health Conventions in Seattle and Chicago and Pasadena and San Diego and Del Mar and wherever he had time to go and talk about bioelectric technology. He was always a featured (and paid!) speaker. He had the “Black Boxes” to make it happen!
Black Box HIS LIFE: BO-JANGLES and COUSIN LOIS Bob started out like we all did, as a lonely kid. He was born in about 1925, January 22, in a small town in Texas. He had a mean grandmother, who made his cat, Bo Jangles, disappear one day. He happened to go through the Depression fully conscious of it, unlike those of us have heard about it from parents and grandparents, and who have that experience to look forward to someday soon when our government’s chickens can’t stay up in the air any longer, or be propped up by economic trickery, and finally come home to roost. He and his parents had to go stay with an Aunt and Uncle, and he had a cousin, Lois, who he was quite fond of. Just fantasies, but he especially likes females who have long, blonde, straight hair and bangs like Lois had and are short women (I was too tall for him). 21 Days to Intimacy: But it seemed like romance in the beginning, although we tended to disagree a lot. I wrote a piece called “21 Days to Intimacy,” because I was so impressed with the 21-Day regimen that it took to achieve the benefits of the Brain Tuner and the Plant Growth Stimulator. I went on the premise that spending 2 hours a day together without talking would establish whatever our relationship could be. It turned out well, but he didn’t like the article. I might have it somewhere. I kept a Journal of how we did that every day. It seemed to me that I, at least, gradually came to find speaking my mind much less important at any given moment, and that psychic and kinesthetic communication work as

well or better than verbal. It seems that it is a reality-based communication, rather than what seems like jousting or competing with the manipulative language we use instead of knowing that you both feel comfortable in the moment. If it isn’t working, not talking for that 2 hours times “21 Days” will tell you that you are not with the right person, and it won’t take 21 days, either. (There are also times when it is good to let the other person talk, as described in “The One Hour Orgasm” by Robert Schwartz). I also liked the way he referred to the woman in his life as “My Lady,” that was a wonderful quality and attitude and one I enjoyed for over two years. Me, right….. Pasadena, Mary Baker Eddy, and USC: His family decided at some point (Bob’s late teens probably) to move to Pasadena, California, where I believe his mother took quite an interest in the Mary Baker Eddy crowd. He could quote from their mantras, but was not a devotee himself, when I knew him. He must have distinguished himself in High School and got a scholarship to USC. That could explain the move. Or he may have felt, as so many did, that California offered opportunity for young, bright people to achieve technological goals and make more money. He took care of his mother until her death, and always spoke very well of her as his “little mother.” COLOR-LAB AND MARRIAGE…Later he spent some years as a photojournalist, but had a girlfriend who insisted he get a job that would keep him coming home at night. He spent many years as the owner of Color Lab in Hollywood, where he owned a house that backs up to the YMCA, and two other houses on Detour and Motor, and was THE photographer every year, until he retired, for the Pasadena, CA Rose Parade. The YMCA really wanted to buy that house from him for many years, but he wouldn’t sell it! I believe when he was around 30, a lady named Dorothy talked him into marriage, or he talked her into it Within a year, neither was too happy, he didn’t care for having to walk the cats on leashes (and similar restrictions), and she probably didn’t care for his devil-may-care habits. He may have been demanding on his side of it also. She may not have even cared for him being a man, from what he says, but we only have his opinion for that. He did like to make jokes about people who changed their underwear every day by turning yesterday’s underwear inside out, or change socks by exchanging with someone else. She, Dorothy, took a chunk of his accumulated money, the airplane he taught her to fly, the house (typical in those days), and pretty much took away his ability to put that in the past, be a gentleman and shut up about it, and every allow himself to marry anyone else, as long as I knew him, anyway. His attitude may have been: “So many women, so little time.” And of course every time you tell your story about how bad someone treated you, you are setting the new person up to be accused of the same thing. Even if they don’t do the same thing, they will always be seen that way. And a good many people who become single value the right to make their own decisions over the importance of social approval. I’d go with that one! LIFE IS GOOD On the other hand, life was good for Bob. He could always pick up the tab for dinner (breakfast, and lunch), he could do the work he liked, see whatever woman he liked, impress people with his talents, which ranged from clever to insightful and genius. He didn’t like me to call him a genius, but he really was, He also had an enormous ego, which could get in the way of his genius, especially when young people would come along (to breakfast meetings) with great ideas. He was very competitive. He did tell me one story about going to the Formosa bar, I think in Santa Monica, and on one occasion was accompanied by a young lady with what appeared to be a diamond choker around her neck, with a leash attached. He said he asked the bartender to hold the leash while he went to the restroom. I am sure any of you who knew him in those days can tell some good stories about him. He also told me that when a woman enters a room with stirrup skin-tight pants, bare legs, and heels, men think it is sexy and women think it is cheap. And there was the magazine collection, two stacks, each at least 5 feet tall. (You wanted details about the real Bob Beck!)

He told me how many women he had been associated with in his lifetime, but I will leave that item to your imagination. There was one occasion when he was offered a job that he just didn’t have enough room for on his plate. They wanted him for it very much, however, and bribed him with an apartment, complete with an extremely attractive female, one he just couldn’t say no to. SEVEN WOMEN WITH THE SAME NAME, LET’S SAY IT WAS DINA.. but it was actually something like that…Bob moved to Orange County for social reasons. There was a woman in his life, who was very compelling, as I recall she was one of about seven different “Dina’s” that he went with at different times. He made the move, not a great move in my opinion, to an apartment in Santa Ana, CA. Not a bad neighborhood, but I think he thought it was temporary, so he didn’t think about the limited space and the deteriorating neighborhood. I think he was planning to make a more permanent move to live with “Dina,” which he never did. He didn’t really ever like having to interact with other men’s children. He thought my son was, hmmm, let’s say annoying, probably because my son didn’t want his picture taken. My daughter was okay with him. And it was again time to move on, in a radical intellectual/alternative healing direction, bioelectricity! BOB HAD A PASSION FOR SCIENCE, HEALING, BETTER TRUTH, AND THE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE: He had a favorite quote from Winston Churchill: “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most pick themselves up and continue on as if nothing had happened.” He had another one about fleas, quoting Jonathan Swift, it took quite a search to find the author: Big fleas have little fleas Other version: That on their bodies bite em Little fleas have littler fleas And little fleas have littler fleas And littler fleas that bite em And so ad infinitum And littler fleas have littler fleas --Jonathon Swift And so on[ad] infinitum To poorly misquote, "All those marines have little fleas upon their backs to bite them, and those fleas have littler fleas, and so ad infinitum" which I can now quote with author, after searching about 15 websites. Bob probably said this in recognition of what we have come to know about disease, that it is in just about every case caused by a bug, more and more often smaller and smaller…and smaller! They may be allowed entry by some deficiency, but they are the things that give us disease that we want to get rid of by correcting those deficiencies. One website about Fleas and Dogs even said that the information in this little rhyme is not true of fleas, anyway. Bob and his friends also liked referring to “barking spiders” as a cause for unexplainable events (probably referring to flatulence). He joked about taking a shower every six weeks, whether he needed it or not. He may have thought (see Keelynet.com) that water, essential as it is, also ages the human body (deuterium), either by drinking it or bathing in it. Or the bad knees just made it difficult for him to negotiate the shower. Unless someone else knows his thinking, I am afraid his reasoning passed on with him. IN THE GAPS…He said something else that I did not understand the full significance of. Bob said on several occasions that nobody knows what electricity is. That was a part of his being a physicist that I think set him apart in his integrity about science. He knew that science didn’t know everything, and he was looking for what was in the gaps. I wish he could be here to hear the updates on electricity (see Mark McCutcheon, The Final Theory). USC AND THE FLASH UNIT He had what was probably a pretty ideal childhood, the negatives acted as challenges (instead of making him a dysfunctional sociopath). I know people with abandonment issues and hardship growing up who are wonderful people, just as Bob was, and I know the other kind. He must have done very well in High School, because college was an opportunity he really took hold of. He invented the first camera flash unit (replacing flash bulbs, much to the chagrin of flash bulb manufacturers!) and got enough money from his employer for that to pay for his doctorate year at USC. The invention made a ton of money for his employer. And the flash unit came in handy many years later with some alterations and a copper coil. We’ll get to that (the Magnetic Pulse Generator).

BOOSTING THE IQ: I…For his first job at Lockheed in the San Fernando Valley, CA, he tanked up on Glutamine to make his IQ higher, impressed the hell out of them, and made quite a good starting salary. His degree was in Physics. I think he said his IQ measured 180 plus for the test. LASER LIGHT SHOW…One of the things Bob did in Los Angeles was to put on a Laser light show at the Griffith Park Planetarium. Some of you may remember him there, or remember the light show and did not realize that it was run by him. I think I saw it once, and had no idea who he was. Work History: Somewhere in there, he found time, as a researcher and physicist, to act as a consultant for to Sandia Corp, as Senior Staff Scientist at Eyring Research Institute, and to the US Navy. Also, he was involved in several government classified projects; including one to measure extra low frequency signals (ELFs) circling the globe. These frequencies are suspect as a means of mind control and Bob invented a small magnetometer that could detect the frequencies better than the existing $300,000 SQUIDS or Sequential Quantum Integrating Devices in use. Her work was featured in the January 1983 issue of Omni magazine when Peter Townsend, a British rock star, went public after stopping his slide into "drugged oblivion." The article, "Brain Tuner," by Kathleen McAuliffe caught Bob Beck's attention. Dr. Patterson had developed an electronic device to help her patients with their addictions after working with Dr. H. L. Wen in Hong Kong using electro-acupuncture. Dr. Wong had discovered some of his patients were overcoming addictions without severe withdrawal symptoms. Bob Beck subsequently developed his BT5 and BT6 after going to a seminar in Quebec, Canada in 1982 where he met a researcher who had visited Russia to learn about a 100hz-only device that was highly effective with addictions, probably the machine the Russians called the Sleep Machine in the 1960s. The first unit Bob made was called a BT5. Later, Bob added extra settings in a model called the BT6. For his work with the brain, Bob Beck received the John Fetzer Foundation Pioneering Award in 1990. Research with Beck's Brain Tuner gained attention in two books published in the 90's: Mega Brain Power, by Michael Hutchison and Super-Learning 2000 by Sheila Ostrander & Lynn Schroeder. One website calls him a John the Baptist shouting in the wilderness (but then, anyone using an alternative treatment is shouting in the wilderness, where they try to safely hang out with others who prefer alternatives, with or without impressive credentials), tilting at windmills, telling it like it is, on the podium and in articles and magazines, loved by his admirers, and oppressed by the governing powers; he chose to live on the edge and speak and write what he knows about this technological breakthrough with which alternative health hopes to threaten a major financial pillars of the USA, the drug based medical system. Bob does have impressive qualifications and impressive courage, entertaining and encouraging those who think for themselves, particularly where their individual health is at stake. He must speak the truth as he discovers it. There is some interesting thinking that letting the family and community (others, FDA, medical) tell you what you can do for your health is 1st Chakra thinking, and limits your health and life span to what your family and community thinks it should be. Bob was a fan of Carolyn Myss, who talks about this issue on her tapes “Energy Anatomy.” Making your own decisions about your health is taking responsibility for yourself, moving beyond 1st Chakra, out of childhood and dependency, to self-realizing and life extension. He gave me her tapes. Robert Beck has personally seen hundreds of people helped with of all kinds of diseases including AIDS, prostate cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, Hepatitis A and B, Herpes B, Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, cervical cancer, lyme disease, and lupus. All of these are caused by viruses and bacteria which is the forte of the Blood Electrifier and Magnetic Pulser, which means that the list of diseases these devices may reverse could be very long. Robert Beck himself lost 145 pounds and regrew some of his hair as a result of using these devices. (I am not too sure about the weight loss, some was the result of the Beck Protocol, some was caused by the Hiatal Hernia.) How many millions of people fall into those two categories? Robert Beck has seen dozens of his friends use these devices and regain so much immune strength that they didn't lose a single day's work in over three years from getting sick! Wouldn't that be great? We all know the feeling of almost wanting to die when we get the flu. Do we really have to go through that every year? I think not. Robert Beck also knows of an MD who claims over two hundred documented cancer remissions by using only blood electrification via the Blood Electrifier. I have put a number of minor ailments to rest in a matter of a few hours. Robert Beck has personally helped more AIDS patients than any other type and feels that his devices are 100% effective if the patient uses them exactly as directed. In the early years of his electromedicine research he funded a study with two medical doctors and 8 AIDS patients. Beck had hoped to publish the results of this study because, according to Bob Beck, all 8 patients became symptom free. The established medical system, however, required that a PCR test show that each individual was no longer HIV positive. This led to confusion and the eventual abandonment of the study as the PCR test results were still positive in most cases. It has since come to light that the PCR test is not a valid test for HIV (after electromedicine treatment) since it detects viral fragments as well as whole viruses, so that a person cleaned of AIDS may fail the PCR test since there are still many viral fragments in the bloodstream. It has further come to light that HIV is not always the main causative factor in AIDS. (Look at the book: What If Everything You Thought You Knew About AIDS Was Wrong by Christine Maggiore.) Bob also thinks that the devices would be effective against Ebola, but hasn't had the opportunity yet to use it against that super-killer. Besides disabling viruses and bacteria the Blood Electrifier also has life enhancing effects. Robert Beck has told of a blood analysis that revealed that blood that normally stays alive for 4 days in a microscope slide, will last for one month if taken from someone who has done Blood Electrification! I have even heard of someone that uses his Blood Electrifier all day every day because of the energizing effect he gets with it. Many people have asked me for a source for this information and here it is. According to Bob Beck, the plant herb garlic contains Sulphone (US sulfone) hydroxyl and that this ion penetrates the blood-brain barrier infecting the corpus callosum…when taken just prior to treatment with the Blood Cleaner, millions of brain cells would be killed by the garlic, and would de-synchronize the left and right brains waves. Garlic together with the Beck Protocol would be potentially toxic and even deadly. Garlic toxicity is normally very low, and thought to be safe by most scientists. (I think that the Beck Protocol will be a major deterrent to the CHAGAS flu, now ten times more prevalent in the U.S. than AIDs, and kills 10% of it’s victims.--2007) But no matter how clean you keep your blood, you can still battle with other non-blood borne illnesses all your life and finally come to the same end as all men do. Although death is a fact of life, I am sad to inform you that Bob Beck died at 11:40 PM June 23 2002 at an Orange County, CA hospital, after a bad fall which created water on his brain, Bob’s heart eventually gave out. Bob had been in declining health for the past three years with diabetes and blood pressure problems. He also had a digestive disorder, Hiatal Hernia, that made digestion difficult. He was a great man who did great things while he had the health to do them with. We all miss him and will continue to work to keep going what he started. RETIREMENT AND ALIENS…Bob eventually retired, although he never, as far as I know, decided to collect social security. Probably for the same reason my mother didn’t want welfare when she was widowed at 28 with 6 children, neither of them wanted anyone prying into their business. Oh, Well?!?!?! Bob also had a run-in with aliens, probably back in the 1970s, the story is they asked him to build a “Beam-MeUp” device but he refused, even though they apparently offered to make enough money available to him, from an accident they told him he would have in a few days--which wouldn’t injure him—and would get him enough money to pay for the development. The story is that the accident did happen as they said, but he didn’t develop the device for them. 13
Bob might not want that as part of his story. He never told me about it, I had to hear it from one of his longtime friends who lived out in Canyon Country. Either he thought it was a little too unbelievable, or he didn’t even believe it really happened. Or he thought it was just too scary for him, or that I wouldn’t believe it. Sounds like an adventure, huh?!?!?! UFOs AND BIG ROCK But Bob did tell me about the years when he owned a camper, and made regular trips to the desert, to a place called Big Rock, with a group of like-minded UFO enthusiasts, to camp out on that Rock and wait to sight possible alien landings, or at least stars with strangely blinking red and green lights. I have seen them. Stars don’t normally blink red and green. . Do satellites blink red and green? Maybe airplanes do, but not satellites. That could have been the time frame for the scary meeting with what might have been aliens. In about 2001 there was a rather large item in the sky, which some thought it was an approaching asteroid, which had several of the red and green blinking items surrounding it. So, maybe it was an asteroid, the red and green blinking items either monitored it until it passed by, or maybe they were capable of changing its outcome. Or maybe it was a rumor started by a JPL employee. That’s how it came to me, third-hand. Anyway, Bob was out there with his friends, watching all this for a while, and then I would guess that he probably just got bored with those friends and maybe not enough going on with the aliens. Besides, there were other interdimensional phenomena to get excited about, like Bilocation, and stroking your silver spoons and forks, and wine corkscrews until they bend in lolling loops. He started collecting forks and spoons and corkscrews at Swap Meets for meetings. He had very good friends in a lot of areas, and people gravitated to him for his innovative ideas. And it was time to move on again. Psychotronics: Bob was on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Psychotronics Association for seven years and served as National President for three terms running. He was also co-chairman of L.A.-USPA, was a professional member of the Audio Engineering Society, the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, and the Biological Photographers Association, among others. Psychic Meetings: He also went to Psychic Meetings, where he clashed with the liberated and assertive women and other undiplomatic women. (He always liked to take a tub of take-out fried chicken to those events and laugh at the vegetarians eating chicken.) Bob had many good qualities but he did not like to feel that someone, anyone, male or female, was “busting his balls.” (his words.) He was quite sensitive to any questioning of his intellectual authority. Treat him like the Emperor of Electronic and Intellectual excellence, and give him total, unquestioning loyalty, no matter what, don’t ask a question unless you have read what he has written about it first, and you will remain a part of his breakfast meetings. If you are really privileged, as I was for a couple of years, breakfast everyday was normal. He also was fond of an English Tea Room in Costa Mesa, CA (occasionally), and the Crab Cooker in Newport Beach, more often. On the other hand, his apartment kitchen was not for cooking or any food preparation. It was a recording studio on the stove side, water purification and colloidal silver at the sink, and gifts of vitamins and supplements everywhere from grateful and loyal fans. The dining table was a filing system, which I set up, and an assembly station, although soldering was done in the workroom. I got in the habit of not talking very much, because I could see that “silly female chatter,” especially from females trying to call attention to themselves, and not paying attention to him, were not women he spoke highly of in private. Frankly, I am an IQ junkie, and I was willing to pay attention to his likes and dislikes for the privilege of hearing him talk about the “Black Boxes” that would cure the incurable (Blood Cleaner), make you smarter (Brain Tuner), and make pain disappear in 30 seconds (MRT). So I developed a rather unusual privilege. When I did have something to say, he listened. It didn’t matter if it was in the middle of an important speech and I wanted to make an announcement over the microphone. I was allowed to do that and he would stop everything and allow me to do that. You can bet I didn’t do that very often, just often enough so that I knew that I could. There were occasions when I spoke and took part in presentations, about my experiences with the “Black Boxes,” so I may show up on one of the videos.

I also liked his sense of humor. If he was displeased he would growl: “Arrrrr!!!!” That sounded fun to me so I growled right back at him, and he thought it was funny. He had a device that showed ambient electrical activity, and when he sent me out to look for a house to buy, I had to check the electrical level. Every one I found was not to his liking. There were always too many power lines too close for his comfort, and I don’t think he fundamentally wanted to move. I also got to do laundry, take out the trash, a little housecleaning (very little, he did not require that and didn’t like anyone looking at his “stuff,” a pretty normal attitude, I think), travel to various and very interesting science congresses and health shows, and do various prepping chores for the electronic “Black Boxes” that he made a business of. Bob had bad knees, I don’t know for how long, but he did have a long illness which kept him in bed for a long period of time, before I knew him. That will weaken the knees seriously. I also woke him up during sleep apnea episodes, which seemed to get him over that problem. It was something that always happened before a big speech. I convinced him that he was so knowledgeable and such a good speaker that he need never be nervous about giving a speech, and could say anything he liked. Ad-libbing was okay, and he was quite aware of the language he could legally use. He might say to you directly (and I paraphrase): “This is for experimental purposes, I cannot prescribe or give advice; that would be illegal.” I also convinced him one time when he was extremely depressed, that with as much money as he had, he should get his knees fixed, so he would look nice if he died. Forcing him to see himself visually in a coffin brought him out of it immediately with a smile, and we probably went out for lunch. I don’t think he ever let himself get depressed like that again as long as I knew him. I am pretty sure that every time he even thought about it, he pictured himself with new knees (at his own funeral)! The visual does not support depression. One can only be depressed in their feelings, or kinesthetic. INFIRMITY FOR A WHILE…A nurse friend from San Diego came and took care of him for part of that time before I knew him, and I can only imagine that it was extremely stressful for her to live with his rigid requirements and discomfort. I met her. It seemed to me that she avoided speaking to him, or being anywhere near him. He had the good grace to speak well of her. He also had a friend who stayed with him and took care of chores. His friend later ended up in prison for murder, of which everyone I talked to though he was innocent. Bob’s bad knees, and long illness kept him in bed for a long period of time. That weakened his knees further. (At one time Bob weighed about 265 pounds and could bearly fit in an airline seat, and had to use a seat-belt extension just to fasten it around himself.) A close friend of his, who is an engineer for a major aerospace company, got the company alternative therapy/psychic lady to come see him, burned some sage on a cookie sheet at the foot of his bed (it may have been more complicated, but that’s how he described it), and even though it was quite painful, he came out of it immediately, and was able to walk. I’m sure that company doesn’t want you to know who they are. It left him with the bad knees. He could pretty much walk to the car, drive, and walk into the restaurant for breakfast (and lunch and dinner), but that was all. He didn’t like to drive any distance, like to Pasadena, so I drove him there for the alternative health events. He had another friend, Dan Enfield, who had given him a lot of help on another project (MRT), who strongly recommended exercise even if it had to be artificially administered with electrodes at the top and bottom of the muscles on the inner thigh (the ones that go first and are the hardest to get back). But as cheaply and easily as Dan could have helped him, as convenient as he could have made it, and as much as it would have helped him, he refused, preferring to hobble uncomfortably from apartment to car to restaurant. And he liked to say: “I want to run and jump again like other little boys and girls.” I believe he is where he can do that now. He used a Hoby-Cart when he went to swap meets and alternative health events, but did not take it on the airplane to the Science Congress. ALMOST BEYOND ROMANCE…I was not a girlfriend to Bob, although we thought about it in the beginning, even experimented with 21 days of spending 2 hours a day together without talking. (I was

impressed with his pattern of doing beneficial things for 21 days, like the Brain Tuner, and the Plant Growth Stimulator, but it helped to create a several year friendship, not a romance.) He was 69 when I met him (terribly impressed by the Brain Tuner and its biggest developer), and even though every man wants to meet a woman somewhere, somehow, who will overcome all barriers, including motivation, and physical disability, I was too tall (he liked little, short women). He did like being seen with me, however, and we both allowed people to think what they liked. Bob was past romance at that point (except maybe for one lady in Long Beach he told me about who was ringing his chimes—but then men do exaggerate when their ego is at stake—she was a nice lady, but wanted a ring and marriage, and tended to want to argue about it in the middle of the night—I hate having to lose sleep over those things). However, Bob did say on a number of occasions that “relationship” was the most important thing in life, in his life. Bob had no trouble with endearments. He used the word “love” freely, and I believe he was as intimate and loving a person as he was capable of. One time when I had a problem with my car on the way to work, he told me I was “stupid” for letting it happen. I told him that car needed killin’ and never to call me “stupid” again, and he didn’t! He was not good at paying his bills, not because he couldn’t, but because he couldn’t be bothered. So, every time there was a big event to speak at, which involved several days out of town, there would be a mad rush to collect all the bills and get them paid up, including the tax bills on his houses in Los Angeles. He didn’t want any utilities turned off while he was out of town. In the last six months or so that I lived with him, I pretty much collected all the bills and paid them as we went along, including the hospital bills, mostly without mentioning it to him. (Although I can tell you that if you have a big hospital bill, and offer to pay it in cash, they will probably give you as much as a 50% discount. I took the cash in and they accepted 50% as payment in full.) I did finally have to leave because I had to have surgery, and Bob was in no shape to take care of me for even a short time. I needed to be where I could take care of myself with a little help, and have visits from my family and friends. Bob’s place was not for visiting or for being taken care of. I was the one who did the laundry, not Bob, as it should be, of course! HIATAL HERNIA…He had a hiatal hernia, and was not able to keep anything down. One of his “Black Boxes” seemed to be helping him lose weight, a life-long struggle for him. If he hadn’t gotten Botox treatments for the hiatal hernia, he would have spent more of his last few years very uncomfortably. These Botox treatments were at least six months apart. He thought the “Black Box” was helping him lose weight, and I’m sure it was good for his health, but it was the Hiatal Hernia that was really making him way too thin. Everything he ate or drank came right back up! The BT- 5 and BT-6 fit in about the early 80s, specifically starting in about 1983. I am not sure what happened with Meg Patterson, but she is the one who came up with the Brain Tuner; which came out of the Pachi-Pachi in China. People on drugs would go into the hospital to be treated, get the Pachi-Pachi treatment, and when they got out of the hospital they would go back to their drugs, which didn’t work as well. They would get mad at their drug dealers. The Brain Tuner and its predecessor, the Pachi-Pachi, will get rid of drug addiction, but if you insist, you can go back on it. Write for information or, better yet, look up the OMNI article and search the internet. There is lots of information. Bob seems to be the one who ran with it. He had a manufacturer in San Diego who built them, for embarrassingly little money, but then Bob always said nothing has a higher mark-up than something in a little “Black Box” that does something you don’t understand and can’t do for yourself. And the Brain Tuner was all of that and then some BOOSTING THE IQ—II It is reputed, to cure the symptoms of drug addiction, depression, and migraines, among other things. I found that within five days after starting to use it, I no longer wanted chocolate, and the prickly stress pains in my stomach disappeared. I eat chocolate now, but those pains never came back. I also found that people started remarking that I must be a genius. I didn’t think anything of it, until Bob told me about the experiments they ran on college students six weeks before the final exam in their physics class, along with IQ tests before 3 weeks of the brain tuner and 6 weeks after, at the time of the final exam. It improves

something, maybe comprehension, maybe IQ. Bob and I discussed it, and it is one of the things we agreed on about human knowledge and intelligence: NO MATTER WHAT THE TREATMENT OR THEORY, THERE MAY BE A DIFFERENT REASON FOR IT THAN THE ONE CURRENTLY BELIEVED. (See what is currently happening in Quantum Physics!) IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE BRAIN TUNER WAS JUST KILLING GERMS AND VIRUSES, ALTHOUGH THE USUAL EXPLANATION IS THAT IT IS NORMALIZING BRAIN WAVES WITH A SQUARE WAVE, and making more neural connections. Bob and I felt that this applied equally to the other “Black Boxes” such as the one with the electrodes on the wrist for AIDS (curing, excuse me, relieving the symptoms of 40 diseases we don’t even know are there yet!). There are bioelectric names for each, but I will talk about them generally as “Black Boxes” and specifically for what each one does that can legally be claimed (like preserving plants and stimulating their growth) and for what it may do for me specifically, or for people I know. It is possible to build your own Brain Tuner. Search the internet for patents. I have copies of several schematics, patent numbers are listed here, on about p. 63 or 64. I haven’t found the schematic for his BT. A NEW LEASE ON LIFE…FOR BOB AND FOR THE AIDS PATIENTS…When Bob got his teeth into the AIDS—HIV issue, it gave a great deal of direction and purpose to the last 10 or 12 years of his life. And couldn’t we all use that! He was retired from Color Lab, but it had to feel pretty important and distinctly worthwhile to realize intuitively, when he read about someone at Albert Einstein College removing blood from an AIDS patient, running a current through it to kill the virus (and any other germs, including 40 we may not even know about), and returning the blood to the patient, THAT IT WAS A SHORT STEP FROM THAT TO USING ELECTRODES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BODY OVER TWO VESSELS ON THE ANKLE OR THE WRIST FOR 20 MINUTES OR MORE A DAY, TO KILL THE VIRUS! (See Note 1 under “What is Microcurrent Therapy” [page 34] and Note 2 under “Plant Growth Stimulator Schematic” [page 36]) And it only took a matter of 3 to 6 weeks, and could be done at home. But no parades or neon lights or ticker tape. Anyone who sells a “Black Box” that will do this, risks having someone show up at the door with a “cease and desist” order(You can make available a kit which the user can easily assemble themselves. They have a legal right to “manufacture” their own “Black Box.”) The FDA is not running any tests, and they don’t approve it. But then they haven’t tested Bypass Surgery either, they just don’t mention that it hasn’t been approved, nor does it have a very good track record. If I needed Bypass Surgery, I would go get some Cayenne pepper and start adding it to my cocoa and protein powder, but that is my own researched and individual choice, which I have a right to make. I would say no to the Bypass Surgery. It did take one more “Black Box” to make the symptom cure more permanent (actually two, the Colloidal Silver maker and the Magnetic Pulser, I will get back to both of those). Bob was rather disappointed to realize that the largest group in this country, affected by AIDs, the homosexuals, were inclined to return to their normal activities that gave them AIDS in the first place. The good part of that is that the AIDS virus cannot mutate and become immune to the “electrodes on the wrist.” It kills all of the AIDS viruses indiscriminately or is at least a “relief from the symptoms of” AIDS (to use FDA correct language!). How Kool is that! Disheartening (that they go back to the activities that gave them AIDS), but there were other groups, pregnant women, children of drug addicts, hemophiliacs, and the entire continent of Africa (where as many as 3 out of 4 people may have AIDS) continued to make it worthwhile to get the word out. (CHAGAS flu virus from Mexico and Central America may be the next major epidemic that the Beck PGS can “relieve the symptoms of.”) My experience is that lots of people want an “electrodes on the wrist” Black Box, and they get all excited about a group of people they know of, who really need it…and I never hear from them again…even though it is much, much, MUCH cheaper and less invasive than the medical treatment…especially if you are clever enough to build your own! Bob had other adventures, some exciting, some scary, at one Science Congress in Denver, he got word that some agency like the FDA was going to arrest him, so there was a very hurried escape through back hallways. I think if they really wanted to run him down, they could have done it any time, any place, like at home. The only purpose in trying to arrest him there was perhaps they thought they had some evidence from the speech he

gave, public embarrassment and discrediting, and they didn’t have to take the responsibility for arresting him at home and confiscating a small apartment full of “stuff” which really would have been a lot of trouble to catalog, analyze, and find fault with. He didn’t keep a lot of the products there that he developed and promoted. That was left to manufacturers and distributors. But back to the attempted arrest, he was upset that not everyone around him stayed right with him. He had a good escort, and the people around him who went in different directions did so to deflect attention from him and it was hoped that would confuse anyone who was looking for Bob. That was apparently successful, as Bob was not arrested, and returned home by air where he was picked up by me in his own car with a short trip from the exit by wheelchair. I was along on that trip, but came home early with food poisoning. (I don’t recommend eating fish that far away from the source of fish.) And then there was a triumphant Tuesday breakfast where he could report on the speech, distribute tapes, talk about his amazing escape from the FDA (or whoever was trying to scare him), and deservedly be the hero of the day. I truly believe, no, I don’t believe it, I KNOW IT, that developing an alternative “cure from the symptoms of” AIDS entitles Bob Beck to some sort of MAN OF THE CENTURY award, if not MAN OF TWO CENTURIES or MAN FOR ALL TIME award. Of course, I call any apparent cure, a “relief for the symptoms of” to protect my ability to discuss such a cure legally. Aspirin is usually labeled a “relief for the symptoms of” headaches and other ailments, never hailed as a CURE! But what happened if your headache went away? Right, that 4-letter “C” word! (I call aspirin THE miractle drug of the 20th Century, and I don’t take one very often.) Bob had a truly wonderful ability to inspire people to look for him, study his written words so that they could ask questions and discourse with him without offending him by asking questions he had already answered in his papers, pay his manufacturers and distributors for his “Black Boxes” or fire-starter acupointers labeled “for experimental purposes only,” and report back whatever good effects they experienced. People thought he was a wonderful genius who worked tirelessly for their health, freedom, and intelligence. And he WAS!!! He had a number of very good friends, some of whom attended the Tuesday morning breakfasts, others were at a distance because they had careers to attend to, and knew him from professional societies in other parts of the country. They are an amazing assortment of intellectuals and geniuses, some willing to sublimate their own renown, others quite able to be renowned and simultaneously celebrate his renown. I will not name them, but will leave it to them to add their voices to his tribute in their own way. I can verify that. I was there (sleeping is what I normally do at 4 a.m.!) the night he got up at 4 a.m., went into the workroom, and said to himself: “I wonder how many 9-volt batteries it would take to make Colloidal Silver?” The answer, which he reported to me the following morning, was 3 9-volt batteries. He later discovered it could be done with only 1 (ONE!) 9-volt battery, but the whole process goes better with 3, and you don’t have to change the battery as often. Do it yourself if you feel electronically brave, with or without the black box, just attach the red and black clips to the open spots on the batteries, and attach 99.9 pure silver wire. The wires (2) can be 4 to 6 inches long, and you can find that on the internet or call for a source. See instructions in separate FREE bonus file. (I can tell you where to get silver wire.)

COLLOIDAL SILVER MAKER CONSTRUCTION: Simple instructions: Attach the batteries as in the picture, attach the battery clips (get them at any electronic supply) where I show the arrows, attach the other end of the battery clips to the back end of 2 alligator clips, and use the alligator clips to grip the silver wire. Use some black electrical tape to wrap around the batteries to keep them together, and a small piece around the alligator clips so you don’t get a shock handling them. Don’t let the wires touch, because this is “always on” unless you disconnect the clips from the batteries. I can make one for you, my phone and e-mail are at the end of the article, or you can have the fun of making your own! If you have any questions, there is an additional bonus file on construction and use. I have met other people who made primitive forms of colloidal silver back in the 1930s by scraping silver into water and hoping for a solution that was usable, but this was the first practical home method for making a good colloidal solution. And Bob did it!!! If you want to heal yourself, you have to be willing to make your own decisions about your own health, make a decision to live healthier and longer than your family and your community and your doctor think you can live. If you are willing to “think for yourself” instead of relying on others to let you go back to your normal TV and beer and life as it always was, then Bob Beck and his “Black Boxes” are on your list of options to consider I made this decision when I had cancer surgery, and decided to refuse radiation and chemotherapy. I used many alternative therapies, including something as ordinary and innocent as Almond Extract (1 tsp., source of Laetrile), and I used Bob’s “Black Box” electrodes over my blood vessels on my wrist, and the other things that he suggests along with it. I had to make my own decisions, no one remedy guaranteed me anything. I don’t recommend anything, because I am not a doctor, and cannot legally recommend or prescribe ANYTHING, but I am allowed to say what I did that worked for me and for others I know. I also used a couple of other protocols: the Magnetic Pulser, and the colloidal silver, not to be overdone. I understand that Bob used a LOT of Colloidal Silver and his skin was quite gray (or gray-blue) at the end of his life (Use Vitamin E, Zinc, or even ionic silver to prevent blue skin effect). I can tell you how to get them, but you have to ask, because I cannot, as I said, suggest or recommend anything, legally. But I am allowed to say that they saved my life. I would not be alive to tell my story, or Bob’s, without his insightful genius. MAGNETIC PULSE GENERATOR…The Magnetic Pulse Generator, interestingly enough, can be made from a coil of copper wire, and a Camera Flash unit, the invention that got Bob through his last year at USC back in the 40s. I can send you specific directions for assembling the Magnetic Pulser. I was one of the few people he showed how to make the Magnetic Pulse Generator, from a Vivitar 1900 Flash unit, probably only myself and his two main manufacturers. It is available quite reasonably. I also have an alternative version which plugs in, and can be used with color therapy gels, but it is not manufactured, I only have one. The Magnet Pulser is used over lymph glands, where the AIDS virus tends to hide. The virus is killed in the lymph glands, and there may be a good chance of a much longer life without the use of any dangerous AIDS drugs, although I can legally and safely only suggest it for use on your plants. Bob knew that the Blood Cleaner would not reach lymph nodes or other areas that are not rich in blood, and that the MPG would neutralize pathogens in the lymphs, strengthening the immune system. At one point, Bob said he thought he had a tumor in his groin, and I reminded him that the MPG, according to individuals who used the MPG on tumors, lymph, teeth and organs, might shrink what he thought was a tumor. It may have been a lymph gland that was just doing its job, but it worked for him and he didn’t have any more problem with that. The research studies on pulsed magnetic fields (many from Russia) indicate they may improve circulation, tissue regeneration, regulate the nervous system, minimize inflammation and “relieve symptoms.” US studies show that pulsed magnetic fields may speed healing of fractures, even fractures that would not otherwise heal. Pulsed Magnetic Therapy? Static magnets as a health therapy have gained in credibility and use over the last several decades. Magnets for healing is well accepted in alternative health circles in Canada, where government licensing recognizes the use of a magnetic bed as a medical device. With the use of static magnets, the north pole (south-seeking pole) of the magnet has "contracting, healing, alkalizing" while south pole therapy has

"stimulating" qualities. But in Russia and Japan effective healing is attributed to north AND south pole. Pulsed magnetic fields, along with the healing qualities of static magnets, produce microcurrents of electricity in body cells and tissue. The research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the patents filed showed the effectiveness of microcurrents to neutralize pathogens in blood and water. He knew that blood electrification would not reach pathogens hiding in lymph or other areas of the body that are not rich in blood. He also realized that system creating microcurrents in specific organs or tissues, like the lymphs, would speed the process of and strengthen the immune system. I used it after cancer surgery to avoid the damage that would have been caused by radiation or chemo (along with the Blood Cleaner) and I had a clean bill of health when tested 9 months later. I haven’t tried to tell anyone how to do it, because it seemed too difficult to give instructions to people who wanted to make their own. I am willing to give it another try. I have rewritten the instructions, which are available by requesting them from me. There are other manufacturers, but I have found this one the most reliable. What is Microcurrent Therapy? Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1991 got Bob Beck’s attention, and interest in microcurrent therapy. This research applied microcurrents to blood in the lab. The researchers anticipated a microcurrent device would be developed for implant or that a dialysis approach would be used with microcurrents applied as blood was circulated outside of the body. Bob Beck’s genius found a simple way to apply these same microcurrents to blood without invading the body. He developed a system to place electrodes over the radial and ulner arteries on the wrist. We started out using it on the ankles, but that was cumbersome and unnecessary. With the help of two major manufacturers, the blood electrification unit has been designed as a compact unit that can be worn on the arm or in a pocket while the current is applied through the skin to blood as it flows through the arteries. Two versions are popular, one with one 9-volt battery and a battery tripler, the other with 3 9-volt batteries. The 3-battery model is probably more reliable, because it lasts longer and gives a more reliable current. Microcurrents are also known to act as antioxidants and to increase circulation. The use of gentle microcurrents by electrodes placed on the skin is proving to be a valuable tool to help restore health. See links at the end for sources. COLLOIDAL SILVER Colloidal Silver is something I choose to use, but I am not allowed to recommend that either, so I will say, quite safely, that you can use Colloidal Silver, or its Hoity-Toity cousin, Ionic Silver, to preserve your Christmas Tree and prevent those Christmas tree fires, and preserve your cut flowers longer. Bob thought it provided a second immune system for the AIDS patient while he or she was using the “Black Box” to kill the virus. A NEW LEASE ON LIFE…FOR BOB AND FOR THE AIDS PATIENTS …When Bob got his teeth into the AIDS—HIV issue, it gave a great deal of direction and purpose to the last 10 or 12 years of his life. And couldn’t we all use that! He was retired from Color Lab, but it had to feel pretty important and distinctly worthwhile to realize intuitively, when he read about someone at Albert Einstein College removing blood from an AIDS patient, running a current through it to kill the virus (and any other germs, including 40 we may not even know about), and returning the blood to the patient, THAT IT WAS A SHORT STEP FROM THAT TO USING ELECTRODES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BODY OVER TWO VESSELS ON THE ANKLE OR THE WRIST FOR 20 MINUTES OR MORE A DAY, TO KILL THE VIRUS! (See Note 1 at end of paper for schematic of “Plant Growth Stimulator,” and Note 2 on Microelectric current) And it only takes a matter of 3 to 6 weeks, and can be done at home. But no parades or neon lights or ticker tape. Anyone who sells a “Black Box” that will do this, risks having someone show up at the door with a “cease and desist” order. (You can make available a kit which the user can easily assemble themselves. They have a legal right to “manufacture” their own “Black Box.”) The FDA is not running any tests, and they don’t approve it. But then they haven’t tested Bypass Surgery either, they just don’t mention that it hasn’t been approved, nor does it have a very good track record. My experience is that lots of people want an “electrodes on the wrist” Black Box, and they get all excited about a group of people they know of, who really need it…and you never hear from them again…even though it is much, much, MUCH cheaper and less invasive than the medical treatment…especially if you are clever enough to build your own!

Bob thought it was curing his weight problem, and I think that getting rid of parasites could be a factor in weight. That is worth some experimenting. The first section (U1B) of the LM358 dual op-amp is a 54 (2 x 27 Volts peak per cycle) volt peak-to-peak square wave oscillator. The second section (U1A) reverses polarity and provides ±27 Volts DC output of low impedance. This delivers a Bi-Phasic, sharp rise--time output of ~4 Hz (not critical) for the biological cotton--covered stainless-steel (or gold-plated) electrodes saturated with salt water before applying. Sharp rise--time is considered necessary to provide higher odd harmonics to the stimulus, although "rounded" waveforms will feel different. The third section is a current--limited 27 Volts DC output from a separate RCA (or 2.5mm) jack for rapid generation of excellent ionic/colloidal silver in water. A three minute cycle in 8 Oz. of room--temperature water makes a ~3-5 PPM concentration. Op-amp section U1B's 4 Hz oscillator frequency is set by C1 (0.1 uF) and R1 (2.4 meg Ohm). It is configured as a comparator with hysteresis determined by R2 (150 k Ohm). Charging and discharging of C1 is done by the 180º out-of-phase signal through R1. R3 and R4 provide a set--point 1/2 the V+ to the comparator. This insures a 50% duty cycle square wave with an amplitude of slightly less than the ~27 Volt supply. U1A, the second comparator, is used to invert the output of oscillator U1B. A ~54 Volt peak-to-peak signal will be generated between the op-amps due to their outputs being 180º out-of-phase. U1A's current is limited by potentiometer R5 (100 k Ohm) and R7 (820 Ohm) and is

set to individual user's comfort. The power indicator circuit consists of a bicolor (Red-Green) LED (CR1) and the series combination of two 18 Volt Zener diodes, D1 & D2, with power limited by C2 (22 uF, 35 Volt). This section of the device is automatically disabled when the 3.5 mm plug is inserted into its jack. Therefore the LEDs flash only when batteries sum is over ~21 Volts. If LEDs are dim or extinguished, replace with three fresh 9 Volt Alkaline batteries. C2 used as a limiter allows the LED to flicker on at 1/8 second intervals only as the square wave output reverses polarity. Users find this newer design highly satisfactory, trouble free and most efficient. How the Magnetic Pulse Generator Works
The Magnetic Pulse Generator (MPG for short) puts out a powerful magnetic pulse every time the red button is pressed. This magnetic pulse creates a micro-current electric charge or field in any nearby conductive tissue. For example, when the MPG is held over a leaf or other living tissue and the red button is pressed, it will feed the leaf with a micro-current electric charge, which can stimulate growth and regeneration. The field of the MPG decreases rapidly with distance, as does any magnetic field. The field of the MPG is only a tiny fraction of its full strength at a distance of a few inches away. So it can be said that the magnetic pulse field only travels a few inches into tissue.

BUILD YOUR OWN MPG… If you want to build your own, e-mail for easy instructions. They are based on the Vivitar 1900, so you might first be sure you can find one… If you want to start from scratch for the experience and knowledge, here’s what Bob would suggest:, OR EMAIL TO ME FOR MY LATEST UP-TO-DATE PROCEDURE… “In keeping with do-it-yourself inexpensive hypothetical approaches to self-help, the simplest and most rapid means for obtaining a capacitor-discharge theoretical magnetic pulse lymph and tissue pathogen neutralizer would be to find and modify a used functioning portable battery and ac powered electronic flash (strobe light) for cameras. These are acquired at swap meets, yard sales, pawn shops, or in junk boxes at used camera stores. Or purchase a new Vivitar (brand) model 1900 ($22) carried at some professional camera stores. This compact, light weight, inexpensive, rapid recharging 2 flash is only 17.5 Watt-seconds (Joules, calculated as ½ CV where C is in µF and V s in volts) power but is readily available and easily modified. It works well enough for casual use but runs on batteries so has greater operating expense than AC/DC unit. “California swap meet prices (in the mid-1990s) for used strobes range from $4.00 to about $18.00. One Sunday the writer found a dozen ac/dc strobes, all in good working condition. Carry four AA batteries with you so you can test flash units before purchasing. Almost any brand or model of comparable outut power (17 to 35 wattseconds) should work. “Preferably select one with 115V ac as well as battery
operating (dc) capability. (I never saw one work other than the Vivitar 1900.)

that Bob and I collected big stacks of strobe units that never became MPGs…you can try this with random strobes for science and for the experience if you like, but the Vivitar 1900 is a sure thing for me…also, I came up with the junk VHS videocassette idea, and unwound the cassette tape in a restaurant in Cerritos, CA for our first coil, I am sure alarming the waiter when I put it in their trash…IT WAS FOR SCIENCE!] ...now on with Bob’s instructions: “Remove 5 screws from shell, remove reels and discard shell. Be SURE alternative spools (if used) are nonconductive (plastic) or system will not work. Avoid shorter length VHS tape reels which may have center hubs larger than 1” dia. and won’t hold sufficient wire. Drill ¼” holes through hub and through center of flange(s). Make two 41
4” discs from ¼” thick plastic, metal, plywood or stiff fiberboard, drill ¼” center holes and another ¼” hole off-center so coil’s inside lead wire can be pulled through. These “stiffeners” must sandwich reel’s flanges tightly so they won’t warp or split as wire pressure builds up while winding progresses. A 2” (or longer) ¼-20 machine nut and bolt with washers through centers will clamp flange stiffeners and reel and also provide a shaft to hold in a variable speed drill motor or similar winding device if used. Remove bolt and stiffeners when finished.
“Specifications: Completely fill tape spool with #14 or 16 enameled copper magnet
wire (130 to 160 turns) wound into the 1” dia. Hub and 3-1/2” OD spool with a gap width for wire of 5/8”. Scrape enamel insulation ½” from ends and tin. Pull inside end of magnet wire through hub and stiffener and to outside. About 1-1/2” should fill spool. Remove bolt, stiffeners, and finished coil. Now solder ends of 4 ft. of heavy twowire extension cord to each side of coil. A $14 finished coil weighs ~1 lb. 3 oz., has ~0.935 millihenry inductance, 0.34Ω resistance, and takes ~20 minutes to hand wind or ~3 minutes with drill motor. An excellent alternative is an AMS brand air-core crossover inductor for home audio, MCM Electronics, Centerville, OH 45459, (800) 543-4330 catalog #50-940, 16 gauge, 0.58Ω, 2.5mH, 2-7/8” dia. $10.65.”
[Keep in mind these are early 1990s products and prices. Look up for current suppliers and prices.] “Strobe modification consists simply of wiring the finished applicator coil with 4 ft. leads in series between either flash tube electrode. Be extremely cautious when working with case open because a strobe’s capacitor can hold a residual high-voltage charge for a long time even when “off.” Before modifying and to avoid shock, short out the capacitor by placing clip leads directly across the flash tube. Remember to remove this shunt later. To install coil, unsolder either wire from flash tube electrodes and connect one lead wire from coil to that side of tube. Connect the other lead from coil to the wire you just removed from tube. Insulate connections with tape. This places your coil in series with the flash tube and enables the lamp to act as an ionized gas relay or “thyratron” that dumps most of capacitor’s stored energy through coil when fired. Lamp will still flash but less brightly. Cover flash window with black paper.“
[Several people have told me that the flash itself is as beneficial as the copper coil. One lady told me she uses the MPG when she wakes up in the morning, and puts the flash window on her forehead to “wake up” or get a jump start. When I use the MPG, I get double duty out of it by putting the flash window on a second location.]* “Melt wire-slot with soldering iron. Replace case. You’re done!”

Is it working properly? A good way to test strength of pulsed magnetic energy is to lay a thin steel washer (one strongly attracted to magnet) flat on top of coil, ½” off center. A 1” dia. “fender” washer with 1/8” center hole works well. Let the flash unit charge for about ten seconds or until the strobe’s “ready light” comes on then push flash button and see how high the washer is “kicked” by Eddy current repulsion.

What is Pulsed Magnetic Therapy?
Static magnets as a health therapy have gained in credibility and use over the last several decades. The healing power of magnets is well accepted in natural health circles. In Canada, government licensing even recognizes the use of a magnetic bed as a medical device. With the use of static magnets, the north pole (south-seeking pole) of the magnet has different healing qualities than the south pole. North pole therapy is generally described as "contracting, healing, alkalizing" while south pole therapy is described as "stimulating." MAGNETIC PULSE GENERATOR…The Magnetic Pulse Generator, interestingly enough, can be made from a coil of copper wire, and a Camera Flash unit, the invention that got Bob through his last year at USC back in the 40s. I won’t tell you how to do it, this one is very difficult to give directions for, although I could probably conduct a seminar and show people how to make their own. I was one of the few people he showed how to make the Magnetic Pulse Generator, probably only myself and his manufacturers. It is available quite reasonably. E-mail me for information. I also have an alternative version which can be used with color therapy gels. The Magnet Pulser is used over lymph glands, where the AIDS virus tends to hide. The virus is killed in the lymph glands, and there may be a good chance of a much longer life without the use of any dangerous AIDS drugs, although I can legally and safely only suggest it for use on your plants. Bob knew that the Blood Cleaner would not reach lymph nodes or other areas that are not rich in blood, and that the MPG would neutralize pathogens in the lymphs, strengthening the immune system. At one point, Bob said he thought he had a tumor in his groin, and I reminded him that the MPG, according to individuals who used the MPG on tumors, lymph, teeth and organs, might shrink what he thought was a tumor. 45
It may have been a lymph gland that was just doing its job, but it worked for him and he didn’t have any more problem with that. There are multiple benefits from the using a magnetic pulse generator. I prefer the MPG that is manufactured from a Vivitar 1900 Flash Unit and a copper coil. I have this unit, I have made my own, and that is the product that comes from the manufacturer I use. It has lasted me a very long time. I have updated my instructions for putting an MPG together, and it is available separately. If you want to build one be sure to find a Vivitar 1900 Flash Unit first, so you know you have the best material to work with. Sota Instruments , Inc. in Canada also manufactures a unit, which I have also used. He may have improved it since that time, but as I stated, the one manufactured here has lasted a long time and been very reliable. In fact, the one I still use is one I made myself from the Vivitar 1900.

COLLOIDAL SILVER MAKER CONSTRUCTION: Simple instructions: Attach the batteries as in the picture, attach the battery clips (get them at any electronic supply) where I show the arrows, attach the other end of the battery clips to the back end of 2 alligator clips, and use the alligator clips to grip the silver wire. Use some black electrical tape to wrap around the batteries to keep them together, and a small piece around the alligator clips so you don’t get a shock handling them. Don’t let the wires touch, because this is “always on” unless you disconnect the clips from the batteries. Brain Tuner … History …Other past projects he's been involved in is work on several government classified projects; including a project to measure extra low frequency signals circling the globe. These frequencies are suspect as a means of mind control and Bob invented a small magnetometer that could detect the frequencies better than the existing $300,000 SQUIDS or Sequential Quantum Integrating Devices in use. In the 1980's, he operated his own company during a time when he did extensive research on the brain. He developed a powerful electroencephalograph unit. This research eventually led him to Dr. Margaret Patterson, a Scottish surgeon, visiting the US from England. Dr. Patterson's work was featured in the January 1983 issue of Omni magazine when Peter Townsend, a British rock star, went public after stopping his slide into "drugged oblivion." The article, "Brain Tuner," by Kathleen McAuliffe caught Bob Beck's attention. Dr. Patterson had developed an electronic device to help her patients with their addictions after working with Dr. H. L. Wen in Hong Kong using electro-acupuncture. Dr. Wong had discovered some of his patients were overcoming addictions without severe withdrawal symptoms. Bob Beck subsequently developed his own Brain Tuner after attending a seminar in Quebec, Canada in 1982 where he met a researcher who had visited Russia to learn about a 100hz-only device that was highly effective with addictions. The first unit Bob made was called a BT5. Later, Bob added extra settings in a model called the BT6. For his work with the brain, Bob Beck received the John Fetzer Foundation Pioneering Award in 1990. Research with Beck's Brain Tuner gained attention in two books published in the 90's: Mega Brain Power, by Michael Hutchison and Super-Learning 2000 by Sheila Ostrander & Lynn Schroeder.
Article…The BT- 5 and BT-6 fit in about the early 80s, specifically 1983. Meg Patterson developed a CES device out of experience with the Pachi-Pachi in China, precursor to the Brain Tuner. People on drugs would go into the hospital to be treated, get the Pachi-Pachi treatment, and when they got out of the hospital they would go back to their drugs, they didn’t work as well. They would get mad at their drug dealers. The Brain Tuner and its predecessor, the Pachi-Pachi, will get rid of drug addiction, but if you insist, you can go back on it. Write if you want me to send you some information on that.????? Bob seems to be the one who ran with it. He had a manufacturer in San Diego who built them, for embarrassingly little money, but then Bob always said nothing has a higher mark-up than something in a little “Black Box” that does something you don’t understand and can’t do for yourself. And the Brain Tuner was all of that and then some BOOSTING THE IQ—II It is reputed, and I can e-mail a copy of the paper on the subject, to cure the symptoms of drug addiction, depression, and migraines, among other things. I found that within five days after starting to use it, I no longer wanted chocolate, and the prickly stress pains in my stomach disappeared. I eat chocolate now, but those pains never came back. I also found that people started remarking that I must be a genius. I didn’t think anything of it, until Bob told me about the experiments they ran on college students six weeks before the final exam in their physics class, along with IQ tests before 3 weeks of the brain tuner and 6 weeks after, at the time of the final exam. Write if you want and can’t find a copy of the OMNI article. It improves something, maybe comprehension, maybe IQ. Bob and I discussed it, and it is one of the things we agreed on about human knowledge and intelligence: NO MATTER WHAT THE TREATMENT OR THEORY, THERE MAY BE A DIFFERENT REASON FOR IT THAN THE ONE CURRENTLY BELIEVED. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE BRAIN TUNER WAS JUST KILLING GERMS AND VIRUSES, ALTHOUGH THE USUAL EXPLANATION IS THAT IT IS NORMALIZING BRAIN WAVES WITH A SQUARE WAVE, and making more neural connections. Bob and I felt that this applied equally to the other “Black Boxes” such as the one with the electrodes on the wrist for AIDS (curing the symptoms of 40 diseases we don’t even know are there yet!). There are bioelectric names for each, but I will talk about them generally as “Black Boxes” and specifically for what each one does that can legally be claimed (like preserving plants and stimulating their growth) and for what it may do for me specifically, or for people I know.

Page 5 of 24 History of Cranial Electrical Stimulation (CES) Technology and the Development of the Beck Brain Tuner Paul Tyler, who was at that time Chief of the Defense Nuclear Agency, Radiological Defense, usually picks me up at the airport in Washington and takes me back to the plane. In February he said, “Bob have you seen the article in the January Omni magazine on Meg Patterson’s magic black box?” I said, “Ya.” He said, “Well aren’t you interested?” I said, “Ya.” He said, “Well while you’re out in California,” he said, “why don’t you look her up and see if there’s anything we can do for her to get this thing broken loose and into the mainstream.” Now this was an honest effort by Paul Tyler, who attends all of these conferences, to be of assistance to Meg. So when I got to Los Angeles I gave her a call, introduced myself, said that the fellow who was in charge of this stuff for the Food and Drug Administration asks if he can extend any courtesy in helping you to get approval or what have you. She said, “Well I cannot talk to anyone, I have a contractual arrangement with the NET.” (Neuro Electric Therapy Group) At that time they were near the John Wayne Airport. “But under the circumstances we can call a meeting.” Well this was, perhaps, one of the most remarkable meetings I have ever attended in my entire life. At one end of the table was the principle investor who at this time had raised about 3½ million dollars to develop the “Black Box Brain Tuner” … the neural electrotherapy device. There were three of the staff scientists and the president of the financial company called TLC. A very bad analogy, the middle word was leverage, I think it was Turner Leverage Corporation, it had nothing to do with Tender Loving Care. Meg had been brought to this company in August of 1981 to develop the device, which had been built for her by Shackman Instruments in England. The history of this is that Meg Patterson, while working as an abdominal surgeon at the Tung Wa Hospital in Hong Kong, had come across Dr. Wen and his use of electro-acupuncture for anesthesia. Dr. Wen had discovered, quite accidentally, that many of his patients were on heroin. At this time 1970–1972, a a day habit in the United States would cost less than a pack of cigarettes in Hong Kong. And about 20% of the gross population that would go through the Tung Wa Hospital in Hong Kong were heroin addicts. So doing hundreds of surgeries a month, a certain percentage of these people who were heroin addicts began to report, “I’m not feeling any discomfort. I don’t have withdrawal pains. I seem to have an altered state.” They would go back on the street after surgery, get a fix from their usual ‘mother’ and find that the fix had not given them the same effect. There were a number of fights because they thought their heroin was being cut, etc., but it was a very interesting political situation. The Addiction Withdrawal Process So, Dr. Wen did what any cool scientist would do, he began doing rat studies. Mega rats. I’ll digress for a moment here and say that heroin or opiates as a class—opium, morphine, heroin and the number of the synthetics that are manufactured in the ethical pharmaceutical houses—simply overload the body’s production of normal endorphins. Beta-endorphins was discovered around 1975 as a painkiller that the body manufactures. It is about 100 times as effective as morphine as a painkiller. When you don’t have it you get the aches and pains, the withdrawal, the stomach cramps, the nausea, the insomnia, all of these horrible things that attend withdrawal. When you give your body massive doses, or even small doses in the beginning, of any of the opiates the part of the brain that says, ‘build neural transmitters,’ simply says, ‘shut down we have too much.’ So, when you get off of the substance, when you try to kick it cold turkey, the body is in agony because those little factories in the brain simply don’t produce the endorphins. The word endorphin comes from en: endogenous and orphin: after morphine. It simply means endogenous or built-in morphine. About five or six years ago there were some 40 known neuro-transmitters, seratonin being one of the most famous. At this time there are over 2,000 that have been identified and they’re still counting. So, the brain is an exceedingly complex little factory. Remember the days in school when they said, “Well you’re worth about five dollars, you’ve got two pounds of salt, some potassium, some carbon, some hydrogen.” Try to buy a gram of interferon for under 8 to 10,000 dollars. The body is far more complex than this set of chemicals that we held so dear in grade school. What Dr. Wen did was to hook the rats on heroin, have two groups: one control and one active. He would cut off the heads of the rats and run chromatography (electrophoresis chromatography) to find out what some of these trace proteins were in the control and the sample. The control group, the rats that had been hooked on heroin and suddenly cut off were pretty miserable rats. They showed that it took maybe a week to three weeks before the neuro-transmitters would again reappear—the exact range of time that the withdrawal symptoms occupy somebody coming off the narcotic. The rats taken off heroin cold turkey and then with two little clips … were given electro-stimulation around 111 hertz. The testing showed that within 40 minutes of the time that the voltage was applied, the brain’s ability to produce it’s own neuro-transmitters had been rehabilitated and that within three to five days it had reached normal. [Editor’s note: we do not believe animal testing is necessary. We do not support animal testing.] The Politics of Health and Addictive Substances Now the implications of this were rather stunning. How many people do we have in this country who are on valium—uppers, downers, legal narcotics that are highly addictive?

Page 57 You probably remember that during the American Civil War, when morphine was invented to replace some of the other opiates, they said, “Oh, here we have a pain killer that is totally non-addictive.” They’ve said this about almost every other drug that has seen the light of day. In fact, boys and girls, if it isn’t addictive they don’t want to sell it. Do you realize that there is a 13.6 billion dollar legal pharmaceutical trade in mood-altering drugs such as valium? And that there is about a 20 billion dollar market from the same drug manufacturers in the United States that exported to Mexico where they do not have these pharmaceutical controls—prescriptions—which comes back onto the streets of the United States? That is close to 36 billion dollars a year at the retail level. Now nobody wants to interrupt this trade. Tobacco is 4½ times more addictive than heroin. This study was done here at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Sepulvida, by Dr. Krober in 1974. It had been found that GI’s coming back from Vietnam who had several habits—tobacco, heroin, others, could be gotten off heroin within 72 hours to a week. But it was almost impossible to get them off of tobacco. So a study was done which established that the withdrawal time on tobacco could run up to two years. That it was 4½ times more physically addictive than heroin—this is hard core scientific data. Would you like to see the American tobacco companies stop paying taxes? Their net is around 27 billion dollars a year. These are big dollars. People ask why these devices are not exactly legal in the United States. Well, getting back to the story, we came to this conference table hoping to exchange some information. I passed along to Meg and the rest of the people (who must remain nameless, but this is thoroughly documented) the fact that Paul Tyler was willing to assist this group in getting this device going. Now, since she had been in this country, they had raised 3½ million dollars to build a prototype. At the time that I met with these people in February of 1983, not one device had been built. Meg had been in California since August of 1981. So I asked them, “How’s your patent status?” They replied, “Well, we realized that once we patent it we’ve given the secret away, so we plan on using the strategy of continuance in part.” If you know what this means—in other words they would continue to modify the patent as long as possible with continuation amendments so as not to get a patent. That meant that they had no patent. “Well what is the status of your prototype?” Again they responded, “Well…we’re, yada, yada, yada…” I then asked, “Well are you going to sell these devices?” Response, “Uh, we don’t know, we think we’re going to lease them.” Next question, “Well how much?” Response, “Well we’ll put a price tag of about ,000 on each box and the doctor will be on the franchise agreement. They required to charge the person ,000 if he has no insurance for 10 days use of the box. ,000 if he has insurance coverage. I have the letter here that went to the franchisees. And yet they had no boxes. A number of people had bought territory for this including William Parker of the Parker Holistic Health Center and a number of other people that by this time I had met. They had been promised delivery of the Brain Tuners by December of 1981 and here we are into 1983 and not one box had been delivered. Some strange things were happening here. And after listening to this for about an hour, I was prepared, I had armed a briefcase. I had devices which I had acquired, had smuggled into the United States from the USSR, from Finland, from Germany, from England. I still have some of these. We have the original devices that have been used by Dr. Wen in Hong Kong. In other words the grandfather of the Shackman Instrument device that Meg had used at the Pharmacon clinics in England. So, it turned out that the investors who are at this table were not even aware that this technology was over a hundred years old … had been used in the Soviet Union for over 20 years … and had been used on the continent for 15 years … and in Great Britain for 10 years. They thought that they had an original idea, which might have been patentable. These devices could absolutely rock the boat of the pharmaceutical drug industry, the liquor industry, the tobacco industry, the doctors who make a great deal of money. When you want the prescription refilled, usually you have to pay the doctor a fee. It’s just a mess. Why are these not being used, for example, in alcoholic rehabilitation centers? In 1969 some friends of mine, new friends—I didn’t meet these people until I started researching this area—had heard about the generic term “electro-sleep” that was being used in the Soviet Union for addiction and alcohol control. The government gave these people a little money, sent them to the Soviet Union, and they came back with one of the original devices that were used for “electro-sleep.” It seemed that the Soviets had trouble with Generals who drank too much vodka. And at this hospital in Washington, which is a household word, they were treating American Generals who had the habit of too much scotch, bourbon or gin. They brought the device back to the United States in late 1969 or early 1970 and began using it in the hospital with addicts. It’s one of the most fascinating psycho-political stories that emerged during the five months that I was actually researching this data. The CIA came around and said, “What are you doing?” My friends said, “Well, we have this electronic device which apparently is restoring short-term memory loss.” The CIA said, “You can’t do that.” The people who were working on the project were dispersed. They took the device to Garland, Texas to the Vero Instrument Company. Now Vero builds the high-technology equipment. Vero builds skunk-work devices like starlight scopes, infrared viewers, high technology microcomputers. They’re one of the highest tech, government secret-agency suppliers in the world. The vice president of this company split off and founded a corporation called Neurosystems Incorporated and brought out a beautiful little device, which until recently was the Cadillac of the entire field, about the size of a pack of cigarettes that absolutely cured addictions. They thought, “Wow we’re going to have markets for this.” They never got FDA approval. It’s been 14 years. FDA grandfathered them under section 510K of the 1976 Congressional Act. They still said, “Hey if we take this around to dry farms, namely alcoholic rehabilitation centers, there should be a tremendous need for these.” Now in California alone there are about two dozen—it’s a big industry. He knocked on doors and there was very little acceptance. Finally, a fellow who had worked for one of these dry farms told him the secret. He said, “You know if somebody comes in here who has good insurance, we can run up about a ,000 bill on laboratory tests alone … pathology, kidney test, blood test, you name it. He has to be in here for at least a week and a half to 14 days before we break even on our television-advertising budget alone. The person gets glossed up … the family’s happy … he goes back to work. 75% of them will backslide within six months. You come in here

Page 58 with a device that will totally restore them in five days? Why, we are a franchise, we are here to make money for our stockholders, get out of here you bum.” Research on Addictions and the Brain Tuner Technology Now fortunately they had spent a great deal of money in absolutely and totally documenting the effects of this little device. They found that it reversed Korscoff psychosis (short term memory loss) in three to five days with chronic alcoholics. This work was done at the University of Wisconsin Medical School, the Louisiana Medical College and at the University of Texas. Now any of you who’ve dealt with alcoholism know that it normally takes eight years for the short-term memory to be restored—eight years of total abstinence. The shortterm memory profile of an alcoholic absolutely pinpoints the amount of degeneration. One of the tests is the maze test, where you have to go through a maze without lifting the pencil from the paper. The other is the beta section of the test where you have to look at words on one page, then the page is taken away and you have to remember it on subsequent pages. An alcoholic will usually show a profile of almost total inability to pass these two facets. In all of their subjects, I don’t like to say all, it’s rather spooky, 99% of them—they were able … where they had a baseline of tests … for example, where the person had been to college, had taken this same or a similar test and had become an alcoholic for 15 years … where they had access to the original records, the short-term memory was totally restored in five days of using this little box 40 minutes a day. Now this is wild and wonderful. All of this emerged during some of the research. I spent quite a bit of time in the bio-Ed library of UCLA, some time at the Marris library, USC County. Some of the papers, particularly the work done in the Soviet Union and in the Orient, were only available at the national medical archives at Beheads, Maryland. But, I have compiled a bibliography—it isn’t in the final form—and any of you who are health professionals can get a copy of it. I’m still trying to get it on the word-processor and there’s an explosion of information in electro-medicine lately, as anyone knows, and I try to update it. So, every week my friends send me at least another dozen references on this particular topic. [See bibliography.] Now it became apparent after spending a great deal of time with Meg that nothing was going to happen in this particular sector. She had her engineers come down to her little house on Fernleaf and I spent many an afternoon with them explaining what I had found independently—explaining the difference between constant current and constant voltage, etc. The only device Meg had brought to this country was the Pharmacon, which we were able to thoroughly instrument, analyze and document. About the size of the original Sony Walkman tape recorder. This is the device that was used on Peter Townsend when he was flown in on a hospital bed type airplane to the John Wayne Airport. He had taken a massive dose of heroin before he left London, enough to get him to the States. He was absolutely green and yellow when they took him off the plane … when Meg put this device on his head … and within about 40 minutes, he was rehabilitated—after he’d spent a fortune in various clinics around the world. Peter Townsend finally got off, kicked the habit and is now happy, healthy, clean, producing again and all of this is history. Of course many of you have read this story—it’s been reprinted in Penthouse, it’s been reprinted in Omni magazine. At any rate, they were getting results with the device as primitive as it was and it began to appear that the neuro-electric therapy group, the magnet group were not going to produce anything. They were either unable or unwilling to do it. Now this could lead to a great deal of speculation as to who got to whom, whether the Mafia was involved or some of the pharmaceutical houses or what have you. By the way, Meg’s reason for not accepting the government’s offer was that she wanted an entirely new category. Paul had conveyed to her that “If you will come in under the grandfather clause, it will get you approval by the FDA, which will permit animal and human experimentation.” Meg absolutely and totally refused to do this. She wanted a new category for neuro-electric therapy, not realizing that this category had been preempted by CES, which is Cranial Electro Stimulation and a long list of generic terms. We tried to explain to Meg that since Reagan there are only under 300 investigators still working for the Food and Drug Administration and this is an accurate figure. There are over 80,000 devices awaiting their investigation and approval. If you have another 5 to 6 million dollars and ten years to wait— even if we get you at the front of the list—it’s not going to fly. But she absolutely insisted that she would not come in under the grandfather clause for a TENS unit. Although these devices do a great deal more than any TENS unit, they cannot make claims for what they actually do because this would put them in a new category. And this means human and animal tests, certification, all of the research that goes on and on and on and takes a tremendous amount of money. BOB BECK’S DECISION TO DESIGN A BRAIN TUNER Research with Frequencies So, I decided, “Well let’s research this thing a little bit further and bring out a box that will do some good.” Which I did. I gave away a number of these to friends and used them as guinea pigs. It worked, and we feel it is vastly superior to the ,000 Pharmacon device. … doctors have used the unit. The history of this is that some doctor will buy one unit and pass it around and then the next order will be for 3 or 4, the next will be for 10, the next one will be for a couple of dozen. So, it’s a thoroughly tested, viable approach. There’s no placebo, witchcraft, or ‘maybe’ in it. The animal studies have proven that. It works. But now, another very interesting thing happened. There had been an ongoing debate between Robert O. Becker who was Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at the Syracuse VA Hospital, and a student of his Dr. Andy Bassett, Columbia University, as to which frequencies would rehabilitate, rejuvenate and grow limbs back on amputated animals. Okay, Becker was using actually attached electrodes and putting current directly into the system. Now he and I have shared several conferences in Canada over the years. He’s a brilliant man—he’s rather bitter. At one time he had been nominated for a Nobel Prize for his work, but because he was a little outspoken, like some of the rest of our family, he got to enjoy a rather early retirement. He was also speaking out on the fact that the power lines were causing undue clusters of illness here in the eastern United States. But, he

Page 59 had a student named Andy Bassett who has made … a device, which has been accepted by the orthopedic mainstream ethical physicians. A little magnetic paddle, which is put near the non-union fracture which, induces a current into that area by induction. Now here we have two separate approaches. We have a little ongoing discussion like Dr. Salk and Dr. Sabin. You can’t get around either one of them without having them absolutely assassinate the other one. … This discussion [Becker vs Bassett research] became so heated that some funds were laundered and sent to Great Britain to find out just what was really going on. The results of this were reported for the first time publicly at a conference in Quebec last year by the principle investigator from Cambridge. A person of female persuasion by the way, who finally located the secret frequency that was causing the tissue to rejuvenate. In the case of a rat they would amputate an extremity and put on the electrode. The blood seepage would indifferentiate, go to the area and start growing the tissue which had been there originally, as though there had been some type of architectural pattern that had restored the memory of the RNA, DNA close to the site to reproduce the proper tissue. It didn’t turn into kidney tissue or brain tissue or testicles, it turned into whatever happened to have been there before the amputation. In human beings, young children, they have grown fingers back. If you follow this—it is an extremely delicate subject because they’re not supposed to be doing this with human subjects. But when they get off the conference, they will talk to you about what has actually been going on with this. Now, they ran many, many, many animal studies. They held a frequency constant and varied the waveform, they held a voltage constant and varied the frequency, and they held the voltage and frequency constant and varied the pulse repetition rate. One of the three magic numbers was publicly disclosed at this conference a year ago last August in Canada. It was very much unsuspected. It was over 2 kilohertz. I can’t, well, I can give it to this group—2.72 kilohertz. When that particular frequency was in the shotgun effect of the device, the limb re-grew. When it was filtered out or when the slope of the curve was altered so that that frequency was not predominant, it didn’t grow. Now there are three other magic numbers, which caused the rejuvenation, the healing, rapid re-stimulation of the neuro-transmitters. These were developed on another government grant program and I am not at liberty to tell you what they are. Beck’s Brain Tuner Frequencies But, they are in the little box that we built. We did very elaborate spectrum analysis work on all of the units that we could beg, borrow or steal. These are computer printouts, spectrum analysis sheets, of over two dozen brain tuners … We found the majority of these devices were hit or miss—they didn’t have the magic numbers but they had enough fairly rough harmonics. You know, it’s so ridiculous for the people selling these devices to claim certain frequency effects. How many engineers do we have here? Well, you’ve played around with radio … uh, frequency is a useful term only if you’re dealing with coherent waveforms such as a sine wave. If you have a square wave, by definition a square wave has an infinite number of odd harmonics, right? That’s what a square wave is. So that means if you put a 10 Hz (hertz) square wave into somebody, you have every other odd harmonic of that from DC to light if it passes the system. Is that correct? So here are people putting out square wave boxes that they say will tune from X number of hertz to X number of hertz and they’re looking at the pulse repetition rates and confusing them with the frequencies. Now these are things we find absolutely abhorrent, … Well, we hope that in these years where more and more people are talking about electronic medicine—which has to be the medicine of the future—that some of these basic misconceptions will be clarified. So we began experimenting in earnest. Thank God I had access to an IQS Model 401 Spectrum Analyzer which is probably the most advanced thing that I could get my hands on for under ,000 at Hewlett Packard. And then we began looking at these frequencies in earnest. We eliminated the need for ever tuning the device. How many of you are familiar with the AccuScope? I’m going to use this as an example. Terry Fisher, like the rest of us, realized that perhaps the most innocent people with whom you can deal are medical doctors. And here are these two dials that have various frequency settings, and the doctors very seldom read instructions. So Jerry came up with a marvelous idea. He got some different colored scotch stick-on masking tape and cut little dots that are red and orange and green and yellow and paste these dots on the dial. Now we can tell the doctor match up the yellow dot with the yellow dot. This made it almost idiot proof and so there was no need to talk of specific frequencies … which is ridiculous when you’re dealing with anything other than sine waves, anyway. You match the dots. He would come back months later and find that the device was still set on the same dots as when he walked out of the office and it was working fine. So everybody was happy. All of this apocrypha is now being replaced by hard Science in these conferences. I’ve attended a number of them. They say electricity is the thing which makes you better, etc., etc. At any rate this was the political state of affairs in 1983 when a lot of people who did not know the difference between frequency and pulse repetition rate and had never heard of heterodynes and harmonics, were looking for the Holy Grail. The way they normally did this, they put the box on the dope addict and they would just juggle a dial and say, “How does this feel, how does this feel, how does this feel?” It was a fairly empirical process. How many of you read the Omni article in January 1983? You notice there that the main secret of making the person better was to twiddle the knob because at that time they did not know what the frequencies were. It has been fairly well established that the beta-endorphins are stimulated with a pulse repetition rate of between 90 and 111 hertz., , The catecholamines at around 4 hertz, the enkephalins at another number, etc., etc. This work has been very well documented and very well replicated by a number of scientific laboratories. So what we decided to do in, our box, was to put all of these frequencies simultaneously. Now some people said, “Well, shouldn’t you do one and then another and then another.” And it’s turned out not to be this way at all. If you have a Hi Q circuit you can put white noise into it and ring the filters, right? And the brain is an exceedingly Hi Q circuit. It appears to have a Q in certain of the neuronal constructs of around 3,000. Which is amazingly high. What is Q? Q is the figure of merit. Q means the band pass versus the energy required. A crystal

Page 60 set will get all the radio stations in the area at once. A super heterodyne or TRF will get narrower and narrower bandwidth. If you have a triple or double conversion super heterodyne, you can separate two stations that are within a kilohertz of each other. The difference between those is the Q of the circuit, which is tuning to the signal. The higher the Q the lower the band pass, the less the interference. We have all of the frequencies simultaneously. This generates a sine wave of ten hertz at milli-volts and it requires about 25 volts minimum threshold to stimulate them. We use all 200 frequencies. Would you like to see the spectrum analysis of this? We put them in bundles. We think that some physiology … for example an old person and a young person might have slightly different frequencies. So when we are hitting the beta-endorphins we center it. For example if this is the target frequency, we put out enough on each side of it in these three magic ranges: encephalon, catecholamines and beta-endorphins. These seem to be the most active known neuro-transmitters. We’ve used a bit of a shotgun approach instead of a rifle. When we work the lower frequencies for the catecholamines, each one of these clusters show the simultaneous frequency spectrum by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) each millisecond. In each one thousandth of a second, this bundle of energy is supplied to the points. Now it was rather difficult to do that because we had to buy reverse Fourier transform, find out what fundamentals would recombine and heterodyne to give us exactly the spectrum that we want. If you hold a prism to the light and you have white light, you can separate that into red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo violet. You can recombine those with three basic colors to get white, but you have gaps in it. If you look at that with a spectroscope, if you look at a fluorescent lamp, you’ll find it’s not a continuous spectrum. My filing system is abysmal. I’m very creative—I just pile it in boxes and hope I can find it later. Of the work that had been done absolutely establishing that any stress related syndrome—and this is why the psychologists hate this device. The stress-related symptoms that are recognized are: insomnia, addiction, anxiety and depression. About 95% of the people who use these devices for a period of less than a month, find complete reversal of these symptoms. And here the psychologists that have been talking to them for years at to an hour. The pharmacologists have been giving them mood-elevating, depressing and altering drugs since the good old days of Milltown and into the more elaborate pharmacology. … So naturally there was a great deal of resistance to this type of technology. So right now there’s this political hassle happening over the fact that even the Carnegie Report, the study back at the turn of the century, tried to damn all of the electronic medicine that had been proven back in the 1890’s to be highly effective. And you know who funded those studies. It’s very much like the American Tobacco industry saying that the link between lung cancer and smoking? There isn’t any. So we could go on and on about this. Basically that’s what the device is. That’s how I started to do it. I hated to see people being charged $1,000 a day and the thing just grew and grew and grew and grew. But they are basically being used to relieve pain. TENS units have been around for about 100 years. When Norm Shealey saw the little device from the barber shop that had an induction coil and a flashlight battery and a handle that you roll up and down your back, he had thought this was a good idea and brought out one of the first transistorized TENS units. By the way, there’s an interesting story. The Stemtech Company was purchased by Johnson & Johnson, I’m sure you’re aware of the litigation that came down. And a few years ago, the president of Stemtech, took Johnson & Johnson, which is one of the largest pill manufacturers in the United States, they make Tylenol, Super Tylenol and what have you— hundreds of other products. They took them to court saying, “you’ve suppressed this technology.” They won. The judge said, “In 30 years on the bench, I have never seen a more flagrant violation of trust” (this was reported in a number of magazine articles.) Johnson & Johnson appealed the 130 million dollar judgement against Johnson & Johnson and lost the appeal. The inventors of the Stemtech which is only one of maybe 20 or 30 TENS units, then got back in motion. The judge pointed out that it wasn’t to the advantage of Johnson & Johnson to have anything to relieve pain if they were in the business of selling Tylenol. So that’s a matter of public record that the drug companies try to suppress this type of technology. That was a pretty big lawsuit—it made a lot of headlines. That’s typical … you see we’re not dealing with a scientific problem with this type of instrumentation, we’re dealing with a socio-political-economic problem. The government on one hand subsidizes the tobacco growers and on the other hand says you have to put a warning on the packages. But the tobacco growers generate so much tax revenue that they’re in this double bind. This thing is a political problem not a scientific one. The same thing is happening with the new emerging electronic medical devices. Germany has some of the most amazing things, the Mora Unit—you’re familiar with that … the Dermatron. These things do almost psychic diagnostic work. And yet they’re totally outlawed in this country. We’ve had one complaint from a number of professional users. They say “For God’s sake, take that thing and put it in a great, big box, put a lot of dials and bells and whistles and light-emitting diodes and switches on it, all of which would be dummy incidentally, and charge five or six thousand dollars for it. Then people will have faith in it.” And I say “Well that’s criminal.” But anyway that’s my philosophy. Early Research Studies

Page 61 Okay, the results of this on drug addicts were generated in the US several years before Meg learned about the device in Hong Kong. And the vast literature on this was funded by the Neuro Systems Group in Garland Texas. How many of you have heard of the Executive Monkey study. This work was funded by the people who brought this box out originally in 1970. This is before Dr. Wen had his serendipity, his accidental discovery, with the heroin addicts in Hong Kong. I didn’t realize you could give monkeys ulcers. But what they had done was to aggravate them enough to where they had ulcers and put the device on their acupuncture points. They found that within about three days they had reversed the pH, the acidity, and the monkeys got better—the control group. All of this work had been thoroughly done long before this current era of re-stimulation of interest. The rat studies had been done both in San Francisco and in Hong Kong. The chromatography had been done here in the United States, so it was well controlled. Like electronic medicine, when we were looking at patents, we found a patent in 1893 showing a fellow with electrodes behind his ears. Okay, 1893, before the Harrison Act, some 20 some years before the Harrison Act you could go into any drugstore and buy morphine sulfate. Mothers whose babies cried could buy simple soothing syrup, which was sugar and morphine. She’d give a teaspoon to the baby and the baby wouldn’t cry anymore. There were quite a few addicts. The stuff was legal, there was no control. I mean marijuana was legal. After the Act, a number of people who were trying to get off this had forgotten that around 1890 we had a hell of a lot more addicts in this country. The women who were religious were sipping tonic which was about 200 proof alcohol for their health, taking bitters and what-have-you. In other words, we had about the same addiction level. And this work had been explored about 84 to 85 years ago and then again suppressed by what we feel is the ruling class of the doctors, the pharmacies and the people who want to take your money for making you better. … Fisher, no relation to Jerry, had done this work in 1932 and 1935 and had a number of patents. Remember the Fisher Instrument Company that was making electrical stimulating devices back 40 years or so. Okay, this has been in the literature, they had explored in great depth the wave forms, the frequencies, the application modes and what-have-you. Bob Beck’s Early Research There’s a replica of the work I did in 1973. In 1969 I began building ethical biofeedback equipment—EEG Brainwave Amplifiers. I had one foot on each banana peel, I had been a scientist and I am now a kook, so we sort of straddle this chasm. So I have taught biofeedback classes at UCLA, USC, Vilanova University of Hawaii, SMU. And when I was doing this for health professionals, I also had access to the psychic underground. In Hawaii I was able to make brainwave recordings of one of the three living bloodline Polynesian Kahunas. I was able to make brainwave EEG recordings of hexinmeisters like John Ott in Lancaster County—no relation to the fellow who did the work on light and colour. I have worked with American Indian medicine men. I’ve worked with Kathryn Coleman before she died. And she let me run a little telemetry test when she was knocking them down at the Shrine Auditorium. We found almost invariably that when they were in their working state—which was only a few seconds—you’re here you get the information you come back, you can talk about it for hours. It’s a flash, in the twinkling of an eye. They were showing about a 7.83 hertz, almost pure coherent maybe 20 microvolt signal frontal to occipital midline. That’s between F1 and F2 in the standard nomenclature system to halfway between 01 and 02 if you’re an encephalographer. In other words the third eye … which shows whole brain alpha. Over and over again we found these frequencies in people with remarkable talents—healers, radionics operators, dousers, shamans, witch doctors, mystics, golden don, priests and priestesses— if they were authentic. One of our early cases was, well I’d better not mention the person’s name, and it’s a world famous name. But at any rate I was intrigued enough to want to discover the common denominator … yet none of these persons would speak to the others. Kathryn Coleman thought it was the blood of the lamb that Christ had died for your sins and that’s the only way to go … and some of the American Indian medicine men thought it was in the sacred cornmeal, the gourds and the feathers. Marnis and Leona had certain stones that were the dwelling place of the ancestral spirits. Well, Kathryn would think that was heathen and Marnis would absolutely laugh at a fellow in a barn in Lancaster County.

THE BECK PROTOCOL Major claim to Fame in 1990s forward…
In the last decade plus of his life, Bob used the Blood electrification (involving weak electroporation, an effect causing an increase in blood cell membrane permeability, which increases absorption of nutrients present such as other medications and herbs taken by the patient, thereby multiplying by as much as 10 to 20 fold their effects, therefore Blood Electrification should be used with caution and reduction of herbs and medications), a method of alternative treatment that claims to kill viruses,etc., anything that isn’t supposed to be in your blood (maybe 40 things we don’t even know about yet!) using small amounts of electric microcurrent treatment on himself, and wrote articles, and lectured about his findings. He constructed what has become known as "The Beck Protocol" that consists of a list of procedures decribed in his 72page paper, “TAKE BACK YOUR POWER,” and devices for members of the interested public (scientific or medical researchers, defined as those who design their own treatments for their own health issues) to follow in order to attempt to 'cleanse' the body's blood and lymph system of pretty much all viruses, fungi, and bacterial infections. The goal of "the Beck Protocol" is to rid the body of anything that is not supposed to be there (pathogens) to reduce the stresses they cause and thereby boost the body's immune system so that it can better combat disease. CAN I GET THE SCHEMATICS, PARTS AND TOOLS LISTS FOR MAKING MY OWN BECK DEVICES? Yes, see the section above on the Blood Cleaner schematic. The schematics that are available give lists of parts and tools needed to construct the particular device. These can usually be obtained from Radio Shack or better yet, your local electronics store. We used to do our shopping at Radio Shack, the Cerritos Swap Meet, and Action Electronics in Santa Ana, CA. Once you know what you are looking for, you can search for it on Google, E-Bay, Yahoo Search, Thrift Stores, or any health food store or electronic store or department of any store. I got my first computer, the “Trash 80” in 1982, so nicknamed because it came from the old Tandy store, precursor to Radio Shack. I got a good price for organic cinnamon (and various other things) for lowering cholesterol, and good information on Ketosis and Essential Sugars, on the Internet. Just Google it!!! I found out a LOT about alkalizing and antioxidants (enhanced by the Blood Cleaner), and good news, I found the Garlic paper!!! It is on the next page… I still carry a keychain I got at the Tandy store in 1983.

The reason garlic is so toxic, the sulphone hydroxyl ion penetrates the blood-brain barrier, just like DMSO, and is a specific poison for higher-life forms and brain cells. We discovered this, much to our horror, when I (Bob Beck, DSc) was the world's largest manufacturer of ethical EEG feedback equipment. We'd have people come back from lunch that looked clinically dead on an encephalograph, which we used to calibrate their progress. "Well, what happened?" "Well, I went to an Italian restaurant and there was some garlic in my salad dressing!" So we had them sign things that they wouldn't touch garlic before classes or we were wasting their time, their money and my time. I guess some of you who are pilots or have been in flight tests...I was in flight test engineering in Doc Hallan's group in the 1950's. The flight surgeon would come around every month and remind all of us: "Don't you dare touch any garlic 72 hours before you fly one of our airplanes, because it'll double or triple your reaction time. You're three times slower than you would be if you'd not had a few drops of garlic." Well, we didn't know why for 20 years later, until I owned the Alpha-Metrics Corporation. We were building biofeedback equipment and found out that garlic usually desynchronises your brain waves. So I funded a study at Stanford and, sure enough, they found that it's a poison. You can rub a clove of garlic on your foot - a you can smell it shortly later on your wrists. So it penetrates the body. This is why DMSO smells a lot like garlic: that sulphone hydroxyl ion penetrates all the barriers including the corpus callosum in the brain. Any of you who are organic gardeners know that if you don't want to use DDT, garlic will kill anything in the way of insects. Now, most people have heard most of their lives garlic is good for you, and we put those people in the same class of ignorance as the mothers who at the turn of the century would buy morphine sulphate in the drugstore and give it to their babies to put'em to sleep. If you have any patients who have low-grade headaches or attention deficit disorder, they can't quite focus on the computer in the afternoon, just do an experiment - you owe it to yourselves. Take these people off garlic and see how much better they get, very, very shortly. And then let them eat a little garlic after about three weeks. They'll say "My God, I had no idea that this was the cause of our problems." And this includes the de-skunked garlic's, Kyolic, some of the other products. Very unpopular, but I've got to tell you the truth. Editor's Note: Taoists and some other spiritual practices recommend against eating any garlic, onions, green onions (shallots), chives or leeks. This is because they believe they attract negative energies - bad energies love bad smells. However, I understand that the problem with garlic is much more serious than this, due to the reasons above. It has very toxic chemicals in it, in addition to the spiritual effects. Stephanie Relfe
