Malard Manufacturing Company produces control valves and has approximately 1400 employees. The company has successfully produced a standard line of control valves that are price competitive in the industry. However, the company faces problems when new products are ar e introduced. Department managers believes that the future of CV 305, the new control valve introduced, should be done simultaneously. However, Engineering department wants to slow things down unlike the production task force consists of top executives and department heads, they’ve been pushing to speed up the development. Ms. Crandell, the executive vice president, looses control with the CV 305 project because of of interdepartmental interdepartmental conflicts, disagreements disagreements and inexperience inexperience by some departmental managers. managers.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
The problem of the case is the interdepartmental conflicts which leads to slowing down the production of CV 305.
OBJECTIVES
To be able to successfully solve the interdepartmental conflicts to be able to release the CV 305 to the market immediately.
ALTERNATIVE COURSES OF ACTION
1. Execute distribution of power and increased individualism an equal Advantages: a) Faster and more efficient in terms of productivity b) Less competition Disadvantages: a) May result to lack of responsibility that may lead to employee conflict and disagreement. 2. All must focus on the good of the entire company. Advantages: a) They may be comfortable with any materials expense and production cost b) They may fight to keep all the conflicts in a company Disadvantages: a) Maybe all things get into rush 3. Weekly meetings for all the members of the company. Advantages: a) They provide each department a clear idea about the project. b) Good communication communication for all the members of the company Disadvantages: a) They can’t assure that everyone will participate.

The higher-ups should distribute the power to each department to have an equal and fair decision making regarding their product. It can also speed up the process and have better a quality of the product. Knowing each one’s role can also make the work efficiently and lessen the competition that can cause conflicts and disagreements.
CONCLUSION
The launch of any product is important to the reputation of the company especially when it is a high-profile introduction. This means having a strong communication strong communication strategy in place, one that takes into account every detail the product which can ensure you have the results you are looking for. When everyone is in the same page and have an equally distributed power, it can avoid the conflict and disagreements which can hinder the success of the product.
