Introduction: A Resource Centre for Disabled is a well known rehabilitation centre in jaipur which was Started in 1995 with 18 students as the first centre in Rajasthan to provide all services under one roof for persons with cerebral palsy, other neurological conditions, physical and mental challenges. Disha was visualized with the following mission. A Society with equal opportunities for all. To contribute to the creation of society which provides equal opportunity to persons with disability disabili ty.. To live with dignity and realize their maximum potential, and for the achievement of this goal to develop on institute of excellence and support institution building for such person their families and providers of support service. Site Character: Topography: Site is trapaezoidal in shape with flat terrain But as the design is played on levels. to provide the green areas to classrooms with few metres above ground floor , the periphery is uplifted to acheive that and is ramp sloped down to green area to merge on same level while on right side the area left between the ramp and building is utilised for parking and generator room. Climate: Hot Semi AridSite Zoning and Circulation Access:1 entry exit Gatte for staff as well as students. Parking Analysis : School Bus/Car parked inside the boundary. Staff Parking is outside the entrance gate almost for 15Cars. Outdoor Play Areas The entrance forecourt has been designed as a play garden and on outdoor gathering space (about 500Sqm) in front side of the building,with the curved facade of the building acting as a backdrop to the stage with punctured windows braking the monotony

BUILDING ZONING:
The building is very interactive with the central atrium linked to all corridors. The central atrium is also used for assembly or functions. It has vertical zoning and divided into 3 levels which is further divided into two levels. Ground floor: lower ground floor level and upper ground floor level. Lower Ground floor level: it has the same level as parking and includes admin and classrooms. Few stairs up and via ramp the other part is upper ground level which is at higher level but the flow of space and gentle slope one could not feel the change in height. First Floor level: Classrooms,Vocational Training workshos, library and open terraces are there . Second floor Level: Special Education department ,BED classrooms , staffrooms, Guest Rooms .
Orientation: Building is east facing , sun shading devices are the designed provided. But on the southwest side users face the scorching heat during summers so alternatives should be provided

GROUND FLOOR PLAN: For the Classrooms on upper ground levelvthey are attached to the outer play areas and its achieved by raising the whole platform to the same level . The Ramp from the play area runs down to green lawn and merge with its level. and similarly on the rightside ramp slopes down to parking area and the area between the ramp and building accomodates parking on the lower ground level thus taking the advantage of the spaces.
