Product Overview The Deepwater RetroPod cathodic protection system has saved many operators hundreds of thousands of dollars in offshore CP retrofit costs. This is achieved by installing an optimized array of sacrificial anode material (capable of delivering up to 20 Amperes) in less t han a quarter of the time it would take to install the equivalent CP using clamp-on anode arrays. An installed RetroPod is located on bottom, just inside or outside the base of the jacket. This semi-remote location greatly improves current distribution, and the installation can be accomplished with divers or ROV’s using the RetroClamp™ tieback system. Small, shallow 4-pile jacket structures can often be retrofitted with only one or two pods, thus several can be completed in a single offshore day.

RetroPod in situ sits 10 ft. from the base of the structure on bottom, either inside or outside of the jacket.

Four small booster anodes are added to the RetroPod when a structure has lost all cathodic protection. The additional upper anode array provides a 15% current boost for the first 2-3 years to quickly re-establish cathodic polarization. Like all of Deepwater’s innovative CP retrofit solutions, the RetroPod is guaranteed to perform. Hundreds have been successfully installed.

Product Overview The SmartPod system is an intelligent version of Deepwater's well-proven RetroPod™ cathodic protection system for offshore platforms. The system greatly simplifies deep water cathodic protection by providing a modular anode structure with on-board status-monitoring, using Deepwater's patented SunStation™ cathodic protection monitor technology monitor technology (each unit contains 3 SunStation monitors). Each SmartPod can protect a number of discrete subsea structures and can be configured to provide 20 years of cathodic protection to over 25,000 square feet of coated steel. RetroClamps allow an ROV to connect to the subsea structures, and Polatrak® V-String™ reference electrodes provide the CP monitoring. SmartPods can be quickly installed with any Work Class ROV system, and instant feedback on current output and potential of protected structures is displayed on the SunStation™ readout.

A concrete mattress at the base provides ballast for stability. CP monitoring is provided by a SunStation monitor with monitor with 3 readouts.

The Sunstation monitor is monitor is a self-contained CP monitoring terminal powered strictly by the light from an ROV. This eliminates the use of batteries, making SunStation ideal for deepwater applications. Solar panels and LED’s are housed separately in either Delrin for use in < 300 m or Stainless Steel for use in < 3000 m.

RetroClamp™ Tie Back Each SmartPod is shipped with one or more RetroClamps.. Typical cables are 2 x 25 feet #4/0 RetroClamps AWG heavy-duty flex cables. Thousands of these clamps are now in service around the world, and many have been installed by ROV. The installation efficiency of the RetroClamp has cut installation costs and allowed for tie-back to any pipe or tubular.

Product Overview RetroSled and ExpandaSled™ (expanding RetroSled) are optimized pipeline retrofit sled arrays designed for pipelines where anode burial below the natural seabed is required or anticipated. Both are ROV installed.

















RetroSled is a single-section, rigid sled design measuring 20 ft x 8 ft. Use RetroSled to extend life on a pipeline with good coating an d still protected readings above -0.900V vs Ag/AgCl sw. ExpandaSled consists of three sections, which unfold to a 40 ft’ x 8 ft anode on the bottom. Use ExpandaSled when an extra current boost is required for a depolarized pipeline or one with a degraded coating. Both sleds are pre-programmed into Deepwater’s PipeMod™ attenuation modeling system, which calculates the optimized the spacing between sleds.

CP-Mat™ Cathodic Protection Mattress for Pipelines by Deepwater Corrosion Services Cathodic protection for pipelines using a segmented segmented concrete concrete stabilization mattress with an integrated cathodic protection system.

Product Overview CP-Mat by Deepwater Corrosion Services combines the proven technology of a segmented concrete stabilization mattress with an integrated cathodic protection system. Placement of a CP-Mat provides the required stabilization and the added benefit of up to 30 years of cathodic protection for up to 2 miles of pipeline in each direction. Tie-back to the pipeline can be made with diver or ROV using the field proven Deepwater RetroClamp system. There is no need to rem ove concrete weight coating. Mats are provided with patented non-shielding soft pads on the underside and can be loaded with aluminum or zinc anodes to operate offshore or in rivers.The mats can be used on pipeline crossings to provide a free life extension system to the pipeline being crossed.

Mud deployed. Used to protect ultra-shallow water structures, such as offshore wind turbine caissons. Used as retrofit system for offshore pipelines. The wire rope core provides both the electrical conductivity through the anode system and superior mechanical support. The strings are made with up to fifteen anode segments. These may be cut to length and deployed in many ways to provide cathodic protection just where it is needed. If laid in the mud, the system life can be extended to almost 10 years.

RetroLink ready to ship.

RetroLinks should always be installed such that at least two anodes trail on the bottom. In this configuration, sea movements are attenuated, and the string will not wrap around the structure. Select zinc or aluminum anode material depending on the salinity of your water. Zinc anodes are recommended if water is less that 12% full strength seawater (4.2 ppt Cl). Aluminum anodes are recommended for all other applications.
