As times have changed, Delhi Tourism came up with the new ‘Haat’ all enveloped with a crisp and contemporary feel ready to celebrate the shades moods, events, legends and festivals of India. the Dilli Haat, Pitam Pura (near TV tower, adjacent to Netaji Subhash Place Metro Station). Location: Dilli Haat, Pitam Pura (Near TV Tower), New Delhi. A central place, surrounded by a group of residential blocks from one side with the popular shopping complex of netaji

RATIONALE The pitampura haat has a lot of landscaped area with terraced roof gardens. a dormitory for visiting craftsmen and a basement car parking are the new features of this haat. the basement of the haat can accommodate nearly 250 cars and as many two wheelers. The dilli haat at pitampura surely take care of and taste buds. the variety of dishes available in indian cuisine is legendary. the food courts will surely churn out menu of ethnic delicacies.
OBJECTIVE Dilli haat is a project of delhi tourism & new delhi municipalcorporation; it provides an ambience of a traditional villagemarket for more contemporary needs. it provides a synthesis ofcraft, food and cultural activities. The 6 acres of land on which this sprawling complex is situatedwas salvaged as part of a reclamation project and transformedinto a magnificent dream plaza. Dilli haat is not just a market place; it has been visualized as ashowpiece of traditional indian culture-a forum where rurallife and folk art are brought closer to an urban clientele. These shops change hands every 15 days and therefore provide opportunity to the visitors with a different set of shops periodically and therefore motivates them to keep revisiting again and again. It provides encouragement to need artists & serves as an outlet centre for them a small food court which brings a variety of cuisines of different states together. It is made to project the cultural aspects of different states of india by organizing "festivals“ every month, in collaboration with state tourism corporations.

ANALYSIS: The buildings, constructed in exposed brick and stone, with shady verandahs have been inspired by the vernacular architecture of the region. The upper level plaza buildings have vaulted green roofs – a design feature used for the first time in a public space in the city. The green roofs and plazas are irrigated with recycled water produced by an onsite Sewage Treatment Plant
