ESOTERIC ASTROLOGY - PLUTO IN CAPRICORN (3) Leoni Hodgson October 2008 1. Pluto first entered Capricorn in January 2008. As esoteric astrologers know, this combination predicts the purging of corruption and greed from governments, corporations, and all large institutions which wield power and influence, so that they can serve the masses better. Pluto is also a ruler of the field of finance in the sense that it rules the 8th house - “other people’s money.” So its effect is especially felt in this area as well.
As we have seen recently, the “arrow of death” has been fired by the Spiritual Hierarchy at corrupt practises within the capitalist system and its banking methods, and it is falling apart, and as a consequence, can be retooled. It manipulates resources and money – the latter is sacred energy manifested in a physical form, to amass wealth in the hands of relatively few. few. The system has been largely accepted by the middle and lower classes of humanity because of a belief in the ‘trickle-down effect’. Greater wealth created at the top supposedly, will trickle down, increasing prosperity through all classes. The reverse has been true, but is has taken the financial “meltdown” and share-market crash of October 2008 to bring this home to the masses. The illusion has been shattered! The evil of unregulated capitalism from the spiritual point of view, is that man and his labour has been placed into the market place, as another commodity to be bartered over. This has set the standard of measure in the capitalist world – if you have money you are somebody to be respected and admired; if you don’t, you are an unworthy human being. This violates spiritual law which holds that all are children of God, and are deserving of all the bounties of the earth. Alice Bailey said the following on capitalism: “The cause of all world unrest.. world wars which have wrecked humanity and the widespread misery upon our planet can largely be attributed to a selfish group with materialistic purposes who have for centuries exploited the masses and used the labour of mankind for their selfish ends. We have only seen the beginning of Pluto’s destructive purifying work, which is necessary to prepare man’s consciousness to receive the Christ vibration around 2025. Many people will step onto the path at the end of this process. Many who are already upon the Path will take initiation. On the 27th December, Mars crosses Pluto and this is a volatile mix. There is anger and the possibility of violence. This aspect remains in effect for four days. It will likely affect the financial markets, but could also involve terrorist activity. It is fortunate that this occurs after the US Presidential election, but it will also come about before the new administration takes office. So it is a time of great instability. 2. October 2008: Financial Meltdown. August 2007. The current crisis began in August of 2007 in the USA, with a dissolving of confidence in mortgages. Saturn which rules mortgages and corporations was passing through selfish Leo, being opposed by Neptune in the “people’s” sign, Aquarius. The inevitable collapse was delayed by Saturn’s trine to Pluto. However, Saturn moved into Virgo – a sign particularly related to materialism, crystallising the situation, and bringing to maturity, karmic seeds of greed from the past. July 11 2008. The largest mortgage lender in the US Indy-Mac collapsed, a result of Pluto’s briefly entry into Capri Capricorn corn (Capricorn is Satur Saturn’ n’ss sign and there therefore fore rules mort mortgages, gages, governments, governments, corporations). Positive action is seen as governments unite to find a common solution.
In the course of this interchange between the forces of Conservatism (Saturn), and the forces of Change and Liberalism (Uranus), five major connections will be made. There US election will be held, and we can expect Obama to be elected upon the wave of change and renewal which Uranus is bring bringing ing in. Obama has Aquarius Aquarius rising. It is highly likely that he has been selected to be the spear-head of radical change - both within his own country and within the world, which will found the spiritual values of fairness and brotherhood, which the Water-Bearer of Aquarius (Aquarian Christ) demands.
3. 2009-2010. Saturn squares Pluto. Saturn is in Libra then, the sign it rules on a hierarchical level, so its effect will be for the greater good, and for the long term, bringing stability in both the financial field and in the world generally. But this may not be immediately seen for quite a period. This aspect will probably see the materialistic forces regrouping. Saturn’ Saturn’ss task is to crystalli crystallise se forms which limit the expansion o f light and life, so this process will be taking place beneath it all. This transit lasts until August 2010. 4. August 2010. A T-Square is briefly formed: Pluto square, Uranus-Saturn opposition . So August 2010 will be a significant period, an opportunity. Expect major activity around this period. 5. 2013-2015. The next major aspect occurs from Uranus in Aries, square Pluto. This is an extremely volatile mix, and it will bring a further round of changes upon earth. Uranus is related to Aquarius, and so the Water Bearer’s beneficial and wise effect will be working behind the chaos, to establish group/ soul consciousness on earth. This really symbolises all out warfare between the spiritual forces (Uranus) and the material forces (Pluto in Capricorn).
It would be good if the conflict stays on the Mental Plane, and perhaps is confined to the reconstruction of the processes of government and business. But anything can happen. What is certain is that as a consequence of the fight, there will be definite changes to the way governments, banks and large corporations conduct their business. The period could see the final death of the Capitalist system in its unregulated form, and the seeds of this are being sown now. “Greed is good” will be a dirty phrase by that time if not already. Obstacles which stand in the way of all humanity getting a fairer deal, will be targeted for destruction. This transit lasts until March of 2015 6. 2013. For a few days in August, the first sign of imminent relief appears. While Uranus continues it s shattering effect, the other two synthesising planets - and beneficial Jupiter, form a Kite pattern with Pluto. The Kite with these planets, is like the phoenix rising - a beautiful new form will rise from the ashes and destruction of the past. Pluto sextile Saturn in Scorpio, Neptune in Pisces. A Grand Trine between Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. Jupiter is in its exaltation in Cancer - this is most beneficial for humanity, blessings are coming to mankind. Saturn is in Scorpio - stern measures will be applied to prevent those who prey on the weak and innocent from ever having free reign again, and protection will be given. Neptune is in Pisces - the loving and compassionate presence of the Christ will be felt.
The angles are wide, and the pattern is only in effect for a short period. Uranus continues its work, chaos will occur, there is a lot more work to be done. It will take time, before the promise can be implemented. But people will feel this effect as if a rainbow has appeared, or that dawn has come, or the light at the end of the tunnel has been seen. They will start to feel more safe and secure. In the meantime, be cautious in all business and financial dealings. Live a simple life. Focus on the essentials. essentials. Work with the Hierarchy in meditation and right-action, to bring about the needed changes to prepare the way for the Christ’s return - symbolically, the dawning of the true Age of Brotherhood, of Love and Wisdom.
