SW delivery
Flexi Multiradio 10 BTS EDGE
GF1.0 RG30 EP1
2. COMPATIBILITY / DEPENDENCIES TO OTHER PRODUCTS 2G BTS SW support for Flexi Multiradio 10 System Module FSMF is available starting from GF1.0
3. KEYWORDS Flexi Multiradio 10 BTS EDGE, FSMF, GF, 2G BTS First Installation Software Package
4. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This TSN gives the user guidelines and instructions on how to upgrade a FSMF System module installed with LTE or WCDMA software with the 2G BTS First Inst allation Software. The download of 2G BTS software onto a FSMF running either LTE or W CDMA BTS software will require a site visit. The 2G BTS First Installation Software is the same as GF1.0 BTS SW for Flexi Multiradio 10 BTS EDGE and is thus fully operational with GF1.0 BTS SW level. However, all the future GF BTS SWs need to be installed on top of this 2G BTS First Installation Software (or older GF BTS SW), thus cannot be installed on top of LTE or WCDMA BTS SW directly.

5. SW MANAGEMENT 5.1 FSMF fact or y load SW (LTE SW) All new FSMF version A.103 modules are delivered with preinstalled LN4.0 1.2 (LN4.0 ENB 1202_781_57) SW that has hardware security enabled (SW Verification Agent). Repaired FSMF version A.102 modules are also updated t o same LN4.0 1.2 (LN4.0_ENB_1202_781_57) SW since week 11/2014. After this, FSMF version A.102 works exactly the same as FSMF A.103. Some FSMF A.102 modules delivered from NSN hubs may still contain older f actory SW (LN4.0_ENB_1202_696_00).
5.2 BTS Site manager com patib ili ty vs. FSMF facto ry load To complete WCDMA to GSM or LTE SW to GSM update there is n o need to have a compatible (WCDMA/LTE) BTS Site Manager as 2G GSM BTS Site Manager (minimum version GF1.0 BL_333) can be used as well. Hence, SW update is possible from FSMF factory load (LTE) to GF1.0 BTS SW (GSM). Minimum required LTE SW version is LN4.0 ENB 1202_696_00.
5.3 FSMF WCDMA SW FSMF Flexi Multiradio System Modules installed with WCDMA BTS SW earlier than WN8.0 4.0 are incompatible with GSM Site Manager. Hence in order to perform a GSM update on such a site, it is necessar y to first install BTS SW WN8.0 4.0, or later.

SW download - When connection is available to FSMF unit, a popup shall appear, stating that 3G/LTE software has been detected.
Further details
- Click on ‘OK’ to continue. [If ‘Cancel’ is clicked then the popup is closed and returns to the main menu, as above]
- Select the required 2G BTS First Installation Software Package: btspack_targetDB_01.00-00.zip or btspack_targetDB_01.00-03.zip depending on the use of ciphering. - Enter username / password (Nemuadmin / nemuuser), then click ‘Update’ [If ‘Cancel’ is clicked the SW Update window is closed and returns to the main menu, as above] - Progress is shown to the user indicating SW download is in progress:
BTS SW file transfer requires about 13 minutes.
If the SW download fails then a message will be displayed to show “SW Download failed”
[Note, once the download is under way there is no reversal available, so FSMF would be needed to return to factory if LTE/factory software is required again]

Description
Expected result
5 5.1
SW activation - After SW download, due to automatic SW activation, FSMF is in resetting state for another 10 minutes until ping response is resumed at 192.168.255.131. Do not disconnect any unit power during SW activation phase. Any interference during SW activation phase may cause connection to system module to be l ost permanently. When ping response is resumed at 192.168.255.131, FSMF is successfully updated to GF1.0.
Further details
SW activation phase completed. 2G BTS Site Manager connection is resumed automatically.
The BTS manager connection will resume automatically at the end. In total approximately 20 minutes i s required.
6 6.1
Once 2G BTS Site Manager connection has been resumed prepare SCF (BTS part) for FSMF by starting 2G BTS Site manager (refer to “Commissioning Flexi Multiradio BTS GSM/EDGE” DN0947025). If a different 2G BTS build is required a conventional 2G software download is required, after this first 2G installation.
