Introduction: Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahmim I truly wanted to give you all something especial on this blessed Eid day. However, I don’t have adobe photoshop for my laptop (Mac) to make a new lovely card for you like in the past nor do I have anything else to give that I can think of. So, I decided to translate some important points from this beautiful pamphlet Rulings of The Two Eids and I ended up with what you see below. I hope you find benefit in this beautiful work inshaaAllah. May Allah make it a benefit for myself and you all. Ameen. Eid Mubarak. May Allah accept from us and you the righteous actions. Ameen. Wassalamualikum warahma tullahiwabaraka tuhu # 1: Zakatul Fitr It is obligatory upon every Muslim who finds what exceeds from his food (aliment) and aliment of his family for the night of the Eid and its day (Eid day). And he gives that out for himself and those he is responsible of. It is given as a saa (4 handfuls cupped by 2 hands) of food not money, just as the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam and His companions gave it. # 2: The Takhber Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhuma used to go out for the Two Eid (prayer) from the Masjid, and he used to make takhber until he arrived at the Mussallah (prayer place) and he used to make takhber until the Imam arrives. And he radi Allahu anhu used to say the takhber out loud on the day of (Eid) Al-Fitr when he went out to the prayer place until the Imam comes out, then he would make takhber with his takhber. #3: From the format of authentic takhber Allahu Akhbar, Allahu Akhbar, laa ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akhbar, Allahu Akhbar wa lillahil Hamd. Allahu Akhbar, Allahu Akhbar, Allahu Akhbar, laa ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akhbar, Allahu Akhbar, wa illahil Hamd. Allahu Akhbar Kabeeraa, Allahu Akhbar Kabeeraa, Allahu Akhbar Kabeeraa wa Ajal, Allahu Akhbar wa lillahil Hamd. Allahu Akhbar wa Ajal, Allahu Akhbar aala ma hadaanaa. Allahu Akhbar, Allahu Akhbar, Allahu Akhbar kabeeraa. # 4: Precautions regarding the Takhber Al-lajnah Ad-daimah said: "The group takhber with one voice is not legislated rather it is innovation; due to what is established from the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam that he said, 'Whoever invents (something) in this affair of ours (i.e. Islam) what is not from it, then it is rejected.' And the righteous predecessors did not do it, not from the companions, nor from (their) successors, neither their successors, and they are the example, and the obligation is the following (of them), and the shunning of innovation in the religion. Upon the caller is that he doesn't liken the supplication with the Quraan, but he should stick to the rules of Tajweed, and the singing with the Quraan then that is not known from the guidance
of the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam nor from the guidance of his companions radi Allahu anhum. And the Takhber is an act of worship like the supplication, so we must stick to the foundational guidance (i.e. guidance of the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam and his companions.)
# 5: The taking of the shower and putting perfume Naafea narrated that Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhuma used to take shower and put perfume on the day of Al-Fitr (Eidul Fitr). # 6: The men wearing their best dress (women too) Naafea narrated that Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhuma used to wear his best dresses on the two Eids. # 7: The eating of Date The eating from the date in odd (number) before going out to the prayer place of the Eidul Ftir, and on the Eidul Adhaa, (one) does not eat until he prayed the Eid prayer. Anas radi Allahu anhu said, "The Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam did not used to leave on the day of Al-Fitr (Eidul Fitr) until he ate dates and he ate them in odd number." # 8: The women going out the Eid prayer modestly and without being perfumed Umm Atiyah Nasibah bint Kaab radi Allahu anha said, "We were commanded to go out on the day of the Eid until we made the virgin from her private room go out until the menstruating (ones), they used to be behind the people, they used to make takhber with their takhber, and used to make supplication with their supplication hoping for the blessing of that day and its purification." And she said, "The menstruating (women) were secluded from the prayer place." Abu Hurayrah radi Allahu anhu met a perfumed woman, so he said, "Where are you going O Slave girl of the Jabbaar?" So, she said, "The Masjid." He said, "And for it you perfumed." She said, "Yes." So, Abu Hurayrah radi Allahu anhu said, "Indeed the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said, 'Any woman who went out from her house perfumed desiring the Masjid, Allah Azza wa Jal would not accept from her (any) prayer until she returned, then she took a shower from it like her shower from the sexual relationship." # 9: The attending of the Eid prayer with the Muslims and desirability of attending the khutbah The investigators from the scholars like Abu Hanifah, Ahmed, Ibn Taymia, Ash-Shawkane, Ibn Bazz, and Al-Uthaymeen believe that the Eid prayer is obligatory, and does not drop except for a legislative excuse. From the sunnah is to praise Allah, and exalt Him and to send the salah on the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam between the takhber of the Imam in the Eid prayer. Uqbah bin Aamer said: I asked Ibn Masood regarding what he said after the takhber of the Eid (prayer), he said, "He praises Allah, and he exalts Him, and he sends salah on the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam." # 10: The going to the Eid prayer place walking if easy Ali radi Allahu anhu said, "It is from the sunnah that you go to the Eid (prayer) walking." # 11: The taking of different path Jaabir bin Abdillah said, "The Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, if it was a Eid day, he used to differentiate between the path (i.e. one path for going, another path for coming)."
# 12: The two rakah prayer in the house after the Eid prayer Abu Sayd Al-Kudree radi Allahu anhu said, "The Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam did not used to pray before the Eid (prayer) anything, but when he returned to his house, he used to prayer two rakah (prayer)." # 13: The greeting in the Eid Jubayr bin Nafir At-Tabeeyee said, "The Companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam if they met on the day of the Eid, they used to say to each other, "May Allah accept from us and you.'…" # 14: Important note The Eid is one day (only) and not three days, Anas radi Allahu anhu said, "The Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam came to Al-Madinah and they had two days they used to play in them. So, he sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said, 'What are these two days?' They said, 'We used to play in them in the Jahiliyah.' So, he sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said, 'Indeed Allah has replaced them for you with that which is better than them, the Day of Al-Adhan and the Day of Al-Fitr.'" Alhamdulillah By Whose Blessing the righteous actions are completed ……
