)T WAS IMPORTANT FOR THE 3OUTH !FRICAN FRESH FRUIT EXPORT INDUSTRY TO MAKE ITS PRESENCE FELT n NOT ONLY BECAUSE %UROPE REMAINS OUR LARGEST EXPORT MARKET BUT ALSO DUE TO THE STRONG PARTICIPATION OBSERVED FROM OUR 3OUTHERN (EMISPHERE COMPETITORS AND NOW ALSO FROM COUNTRIES IN .ORTH !FRICA 4HIS YEAR THE $EPARTMENT OF 4RADE AND )NDUSTRY DTI RESUMED FUNDING OF THE 3OUTH !FRICAN PAVILION n A LARGE EXHIBITION SPACE THAT COVERED M§ AND IN CLUDED NINE MEETING ROOMS WHICH SEEMED TO BE OCCUPIED MOST OF THE TIME /UR NATIONAL PAVILION ATTRACTED A HUGE AMOUNT OF TRADE VISITORS AND PROVIDED &0%& MEMBERS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE NEW BUSINESS CONTACTS /VERALL GREATER AWARENESS WAS CREATED ABOUT 3OUTH !FRICAN FRUIT WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE OVER ALL SUCCESS OF THE EVENT FOR THE INDUSTRY The next Fruit Logistica Berlin is scheduled for 5 to 7 February 2014.
