“A
photograph is not a commodity, photography is an art. Like any other form of art, there can’t be a price tag on the artist’s work. For ages, there have been artists who work for free & many others who take millions for their work. So the two are not the same. Moreover, there is not even a single free resource for buying creative images with Indian faces. Even if someone sells the same for free, it’s illegal, as one need to pay a person/ model in the picture and get an agreement signed by him/her for using his/her picture.”

What is Key wording and Meta Tagging? Keywords are words, nouns and or adjectives used to describe or express the apparent attributes of a given image. Key wording is basically describing different aspects of a given image/photo using the most precise and compact words/phrases. In short it is creating a pen sketch of an image so that even if the image is not present the keywords alone suffice to create a mental image. Image key wording is a process which involves assigning keywords to an image to help the customer narrow down his search to a particular theme. These may include different types of descriptions, subject, concepts, ethnicity, occupations, objects, etc. It is an important link between images and sales. No two images are alike and hence the description varies. We do Key wording on Kwapp.com, developed by us. It is web based asset management software designed with the purpose of easy and accurate Key wording. We are providing the Key wording service for the last six years and the management has the experience of more than 10 years in the Stock Photo industry. Till date we Key worded more than one million images. Various feature in Kwapp.com such as Group check, List check, Captions check, Controlled vocabulary, Synonyms, and many more are created help minimize errors and maximize efficiency. How do we Key wording at Imagedb ?
General Gu i d a nc e: Following are some general guidelines for Key wording that we use to practice here to provide customers better search on the web. Ca pti ons: Captions are written as a definitive and grammatically accurate sentence which best describes the image. A Caption can be 1. 250-character limit 2. Concise but detailed description of the image. If appropriate and relevant to the image, Caption includes the following:
13
1. 2. 3. 3. 1. 2. 3. 4. 1.
Location Photographic technique Latin names for plants/wildlife/scientific images We do not include the following in a Caption: Ethnicity Trade names or the copyright symbol The CD title or publicity plug/account Caption examples: Young woman in-line skating
2. Couple sitting on riverbank, Paris, France 3. Close-up of Blue-footed Booby (Sulane bouxi) Keywords are written as definitive and subjective words which best describe the image. An important component of this process also includes the assignment of image attributes or properties. Key wording is tagging the image with the Keywords (most important wo r ds).
Basic Key wording- non-redundant, unsimilar, primary keywords. Important Key words - We add the seven most relevant keywords at the front; normally repeat those in the description and the title as the main. Example: Title: (50 characters maximum) "male student jumping" Description: (100 characters maximum) "Male student jumping and smiling isolated over a white background" Keywords: (50 words maximum) man, male, student, jumping, education, smiling, isolated, jump, smile, white, background, people, person, you adult, happy, joy etc with other adjectives and conceptual words that relates to the images. Controlled They are also adding more general keywords and conceptual keywords which are not part of the Controlled Vocabulary but are used by websites like Dreamstime, Crestock, iStockphoto etc. They use "Finessing" strategy. That is carefully researched keywords to find which ones produce the most sales. Omission of Junk Keywords - We don't use Junk keywords which helps the customer to search images as per their requirement in lesser time Correct title if necessary 14
File number of keywords added in excel spreadsheet in order to keep track of added keywords We are also expert in Key wording images online at ALAMY. Our expert and experienced Key worded will follow the exact Alamy guidelines and keyword the images accordingly. The photographers and stock photo agencies can send us the User name and Password for their Alamy login, and we can keyword them online FAQs about K e y w o r d ing They request you to send the sample work (Free of cost services) to test Quality & processes, we can send FTP details or you can send us five to 10 images as attachment with instruction set at this very mail address. At Last we want to state that prices are pretty flexible depending upon the nature of work and volume of work you are giving to us. Turnover Time: Standard: Within 21 Days But once you deliver the final images then Imagedb will confirm the delivery date. Deliver of Images: We need Low Resolution files (600 Pixels) on FTP or CD/DVD. Embedded in Low Resolution files. Stock Photos Stock photo agency is usually an online portal that stocks and sells digital photographs. The photographs are copyrighted by the library, they are produced in house and are available to everybody for a price. Many companies and design houses feel more comfortable with licensing existing images rather than initiating a new production. They stand to save the cost of studio, models, art director, equipment, photographer and other overheads. The images cover a plethora of subjects like lifestyle, business, family, travel etc. and can be licensed for usage in advertisements, seasonal campaigns, brochures, company profiles, posters, websites and even as book covers. JOB ASSIGNED/ TITLE
To survey stock photography advertising agencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talk to the photography add agencies and feedback from them how imagedb’s photos.

DETAILS OF WORK:
I learned about digital marketing. How photography industry make you rich? In short, digital marketing is all about selling of photograph. Like other company Samsung, Titan, Maruti etc, they do not have photography studio and they do not work on it. But when they need to give some advertisement on news paper or television they need photos or videos as they require as per their advertisement. Then they give this type of company to take the photos. And also Imagedb took photos and posted on their own website, if any other company need photos from their website they can purchase photos from here.
Now a days this type of industries do marketing on the social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter etc. Because this is a FMCG product and by internet it will sperdout very fast rather than the old traditional marketing. And I also study marketing strategy of Imagedb and I try to conclude how much I understand from their business. Some of the conclusions are:
“In today's world web 2.0 technoogy is really gaining prominance, therefore it is imparative that particularly social networks be used in their fullest for better marketing. In this context though every social networking site seems to have been in some use it is the facebook , Linkedin and Digg are the major preferred sites. Imagedb has to make use of these sites more, As the most preferred mode is e-mail alerts the present strategy to conitnue is correct. And may be followed in the manner already being in use, Royality free images are more in demand. So it would be prferable if collection and variety in this segment be increased further along with keeping the other two categories in their usual level.”
50
CONCLUSION
The following conclusions have been arrived after analyzing the responses to the questioner obtained from different participants:
1. Imagedb needs better presence in News paper and general magazines. As direct email is most preferred, it will be wise to focus on communicating to our customers via e-mail. And for that dedicated executives may be appointed. As far as the other modes are concerned they be continued with present resource and manner. (As per graph No.1, Page No.40).
2. In today's world web 2.0 technoogy is really gaining prominance, therefore it is imparative that particularly social networks be used in their fullest for better marketing. In this context though every social networking site seems to have been in some use it is the facebook , Linkedin and Digg are the major preferred sites. Imagedb has to make use of these sites more vigorously. (As per graph No. 2,Page No.41) 3. As the most preferred mode is e-mail alerts the present strategy to conitnue is correct. And may be followed in the manner already being in use. (As per graph No.3, Page No.42) 4. 1. From the above it is apparent that customer are more comfortable with online transactions for their products. So it is highly important that online mode of selectopn of images and payment be persued and developed rigorously. (As per graph No. 4, Page No.43) 5. Social netwoking sites and blogging needs to worked upon more. Further their usage can also help in serach engine optimization to help customer reach imagedb website.(As per graph No.5, Page No.44)
51
6. 1. As the graph depicts the demand of images is more or less constant and have slight rise during the festive seasons, it would be good to keep on augmenting all types of images with some enhanced focus during the festive seasons.(As per graph No.6, Page No.45) 7. Royality free images are more in demand. So it would be preferable if collection and variety in this segment be increased further along with keeping the other two categories in their usual level.(As per graph No.7, Page No.46)
8. Again this graph pertaining to question number 8 sasty photo category is in demand. So the present focus in of imgedb to augment this section is to be continued.(As per graph No. 8, , Page No.47) 9. This graph depicts that communication via e-mail is more preerred by customers than sales person visit. This avenue needs to be explored further.(As per graph No.9, Page No.48)
10. This graph is pointing towards the requirement of further improvement in the content of Imagedb website.(As per graph No. 10, Page No.49)
