Proponents shall submit a Cable Splicer Certification Request for each cable splicer, with two photographs, giving details of the cable (EPR/XLP, PILCA, armoured, voltage rating etc.) PDD shall advise the cable splicer's proponent of the place, time and details of the examination. The examination may be on PDD premises or elsewhere as determined by PDD. The cable splicer shall present himself at the place and time specified by PDD and be equipped with all required tools and materials, including cable. PDD shall assess the worker's ability through written and practical work and, if he is found competent, issue to him a Cable Splicer Certification card, form 8233-1, with three years validity, indicating the type of work for which he has been certified.
