Homework (Mondai in Japanese)
もんだい
Mondai Mondai includes listening and written sections and is located at the conclusion of each lesson. The answers(答え kotae in Japanese) for the mondai can be found at the back of the textbook in a separate booklet. Do the mondai while that lesson is in progress. Always check the answers (kotae) as soon as you have done the work to make the necessary corrections and learn from your mistakes. You may prefer to do the mondai with classmates, but remember you alone are responsible for the corrections. It is permissible to write your work directly in the text book or you may prefer using a
2 separate notebook. Your mondai will be spot checked in class periodically. Both midterm and the final exam material will be taken from the mondai. Therefore it is most important that you work on it regularly, keep it safe and neatly in file and bring it to class at all time. 復習 A~D Review A,B,C,D, E ふくしゅう
Fukushuu These reviews come after every 6 lessons or so. It is an excellent idea to review what we have learned by doing the review exercises. These will be used for the midterm and final exams as well. After the Table of Contents you will see two pages of faces of characters that appear in the textbooks. These faces with identifications in English can be found in the yellow textbook, “Characters in the Conversations”. There is a glossary at the end of the pink book. When you are lost with certain words, look them up here. They are listed in the Japanese syllabic order : あいうえお;かきく けこ etc. There will be a listing of lessons where the words were first introduced.
