Ensure that your given name (frst name) and surname (last name) in My Credentials matches the given name and surname on the identifcation you will present at the test center center.. (See page 23.) I the names do not match, you will not be allowed to test and you will oreit the exam ee.

All exam appointments cancelled/ rescheduled 30 days or less beore the examination date are charged c harged a $50 ee. I you do not receive a new confrmation number rom Prometric, contact them immediately to confrm that your appointment has been successully cancelled/rescheduled. (See page 19.) The only feld you cannot edit in your My Credentials account is the name. To take the LEED Green Associate exam, you must have experience in the orm o involvement on a LEEDregistered project, employment (or previous employment) in a sustainable feld o work, or engagement in (or completion o) an education program that addresses green building principles. You only have to meet one o these criteria to demonstrate eligibility. eligibility. Your experience must be documented in the orm o a letter o attestation rom a supervisor, client, project manager, or teacher and must describe your involvement on the job or in the classroom. Your eligibility documentation should meet these requirements: The letter must be on letterhead or provide other evidence o its authenticity. The body o the attestation should be limited to 750 words or less. The letter must be dated. The letter must be authored and signed by a supervisor, client, project manager, teacher, or someone else qualifed to evaluate the applicant’s perormance. The author’s title and relationship to the applicant should be demonstrated, or example the author’s business card. The letter must summarize and confrm the applicant’s applicant’s participation in one o the three qualiying experience categories (project involvement, employment, or education). Student Pricing I you are a ull-time student at an accredited institution, and you are not already a USGBC or CaGBC national member, you may still request member/student pricing ($150 per exam appointment or the LEED Green Associate exam) by providing GBCI with a copy o your current student transcript, as well as a copy o a current student ID ID.. Special Testing Accommodations I you have a documented disability that would prevent you rom taking a LEED proessional exam under normal testing conditions, you may request reasonable accommodations as required by law. Reasonable accommodations are granted to ensure that every candidate has the opportunity oppor tunity to test on a level feld with other candidates, but not to provide any candidate with an unair advantage over other candidates. Accommodation requests are considered on a case by case basis. Prometric certifes that it shall comply with the provis p rovisions ions o the Americans Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Under the ADA,, entities that administer standardized examinations must oer the examinations in a place and manner that ADA is accessible to candidates with disabilities. This may require reasonable reasonable modifcations to the manner in which the test is administered. Prometric will provide candidates reasonable auxiliary aids and services, except where it ma mayy undamentally alter the validity o the exam results. Available accommodations include, but are not limited to, a reader, a scribe, and extended testing time. I you require special accommodations to sit or a LEED proessional exam, you must indicate this on your Exam Application. To request accommodations, you and your health care provider will each need to complete one orm to document the disability and the need or accommodation. There is no additional charge or special accommodations. Each request will be evaluated individually. GBCI sta will review this documentation within 30 days o the submittal o your application and, i approved, will alert Prometric o the necessary accommodations. Candidates who request special testing accommodations or a LEED Proessional Exam will not be able to schedule an appointment with Prometric until their request is approved and arrangements have been made with Prometric. Candidates will be contacted by email regarding the approval appro val status o their special testing accommodations request.

Candidates may register at any point during their one year application period through My Credentials at www. gbci.org. There is no required waiting time between registrations during the application period; however, candidates may have only one pending registration at any given time. However, i you ail to appear or or, due to a ailure to present proper identifcation, are denied access to a scheduled exam appointment, you must must contact GBCI or Prometric to reactivate your Eligibility ID so that you may schedule another appointment using the same Eligibility ID . Application Period An approved application is valid or one year rom the approval date. Candidates are allotted three registrations per one-year application period. This means that a candidate has three chances c hances to meet the minimum competency score o 170 or any given LEED proessional credentialing exam while their application is active. For the LEED Green Associate credential, this translates translates into three attempts at the exam during the one year application period. Ater an application expires, candidates are required to wait 90 days beore submitting a new application to GBCI. This means that i a candidate does not earn the credential with their allotted registrations, or i a candidate allows their application period to expire without using their registrations, they must wait 90 days to reapply. The development development o a valid exam begins b egins with a clear and concise denition o the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in order to successull successullyy serve as a LEED Green Associate. Psychometricians work work with experts in the green building industry to identiy critical components o the roles and responsibilities o an individual supporting the LEED certication process. All LEED proessional credentialing exams are valid and reliable. Validity means that the exam is able to measure that which it is supposed to measure. Reliability is an index o how accurately the exam measures a candidate’s skills. A test must be both valid and reliable to be considered a well-developed exam. The LEED Green Associate exam accurately assesses each candidate’s candidate’s ability to carry out the required responsibilities o a LEED Green Associate.
Exam Item Development Extensive test statistics are calculated in the process o determining test validity and reliability. This includes careul analysis o every item on all LEED Proessional Credentialing exams. Exam questions are developed and validated by global work groups o Subject Matter Experts, are reerenced to current standards and resources, are developed and monitored through psychometric analysis, and satisy the test development specications o a job analysis analysis.. All LEED Proessional Credentialing exams assess candidates’ abilities at three hierarchical cognitive levels: Recognition, Application, and Analysis. It is not necessary to know an items’ cognitive level, and an item’s cognitive level may not be obvious. It is only important that candidates understand that these dierent cognitive levels are assessed so that candidates can demonstrate both the breadth and depth o their knowledge as it pertains to the test specications. The ollowing denitions do not represent strict divisions between item types but are meant to be explanatory guidelines so that candidates understand the various levels at which they may have to demonstrate knowledge. •

GBCI oers the LEED Proessional Accreditation exam in English. The use o translators or oreign-language dictionaries during the examination will not be permitted. Additional Additional time to complete the exam will not be provided.
Determining the Passing Score A valid credentialing exam must have a deensible passing score. The cut score that separates candidates who have not mastered the content must be based on the minimum level o knowledge required as set orth by Subject Matter Experts. The perormance o Beta testers was analyzed by proessional psychometricians to gain statistics about item perormance. The nal cut score recommendation was then determined by a group o test development experts and volunteer Subject Matter Experts using the Ango Method. The nal cut score is approved by the GBCI Credentialing Steering Committee.
Exam Fees Examination ees cover the costs o testing center coordination and stang, examination development, review, production and scoring. Exam Format The LEED Green Associate exam is designed to measure your skills and knowledge against criteria developed by Subject Matter Experts and to assess your knowledge and skill to understand and support green design, construction, and operations. operations. The LEED Green Associate Associate exam is comprised o 100 randomly delivered multiple choice questions and must be completed in 2 hours; total seat time or the LEED Green Associate exam will be 2 hours and 20 minutes including a tutorial and short satisaction survey.

Exam Timing While you are permitted up to 2 hours to complete the LEED Green Associate, Associate, be prepared to commit 2 hours and 20 minutes to the entire process. Total exam time is broken out as ollows: an optional 10 minute tutorial, the 2 hour exam, and an optional 10 minute exit survey.

Computer-Based Testing The LEED Proessional Exams are computer computer-based -based tests, but candidates do not need extensive computer experience to take a test. Exam questions and answer options are displayed on screen. The computer records your responses and times your exam. You are able to change your answers, skip questions, and ag questions or later review. Beore starting the exam, you will have have the option o taking a short tutorial to amiliarize yoursel with the computer testing environment. You will have ten minutes to spend on this tutorial. This time will not be deducted rom the time you are allotted to the complete the exam. Test site proctors are available to answer questions you may have about the computer-based testing system, but they cannot answer questions about the content o the exam itsel. GBCI GBCI encourages candidates to participate in the tutorial in order to amiliarize themselves with the exam ormat. Be aware that i a candidate exits the exam session, the exam cannot be restarted. In the event that a sotware or hardware problem occurs beore or during the test, please wait to see i the test center administrator, with assistance rom Prometric technical support, can resolve the problem. In the event a computer must be restarted, the computer sotware has been designed to suspend testing time until the computer is operating again. I your exam cannot be administered because o technical difculties, your exam will be rescheduled at your earliest convenience.

What to Expect at the Test Center It is recommended that you arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled exam appointment to get settled, check in, and begin the tutorial. Candidates who arrive at test site ater their scheduled exam times will lose their reservations and be considered absent, and the policy or Failure to Appear or a Sc heduled Exam will apply. Your test session should begin within 30 minutes o your scheduled appointment. I circumstances arise at the test site that delay your test session more than 30 minutes ater your scheduled appointment time, you will be given the choice o continuin continuing g to wait or rescheduling your appointment.

Grounds or Dismissal rom the Test Center Any candidate who engages in misconduct or does not comply with the test proctor’s warning to discontinue inappropriate behavior may be dismissed rom the test site, have exam results invalidated, or be subject to other appropriate sanctions. Fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or other irregular behavior in connection with taking the exam is strictly prohibited. Irregular behavior includes, but is not limited to, copying or allowing the copying o examination content, ailing to work independently, possessing unauthorized devices or source materials, surrogate testing or other dishonest conduct, disrupting other examinees, and possessing, reproducing, or disclosing exam questions, answers, or other inormation regarding the content o the examination. Designating Your Credential Once you have passed the LEED Green Associate exam on the, you may use the title “LEED Green Associate” or “LEED Green Assoc.” While LEED is a registered trademark, trade mark, USGBC and GBCI do not require LEED Proessionalss to use the ‘®’ or ‘TM’ symbols in email signatures or on business cards. All other instances Proessional instanc es ® ® should be noted as “LEED Green Associate” or “LEED Green Assoc.” (Please note that “LEED GA” is not an approved abbreviation or the LEED Green Associate credential, and should not be used under any circumstances.)
Certifcates Certifcates will be mailed directly rom GBCI headquarters two to three months ater the test date. In the event that a certifcate arrives damaged, with an incorrect name or spelling or, ater a reasonable period o time (three weeks ater mailing), does not arr ive at all, the certifcate will be replaced ree o charge. These requests should be made in writing to GBCI credentialing sta at www.gbci.org/contact > Certifcate Requests. In the event a LEED Proessional loses the certifcate, needs a replacement, wants the name on the certifcate to be changed, c hanged, or would like a duplicate certifcate, the LEED Proessional should orward this request in writing to GBCI credentialing sta at www.gbci.org/contact > Certifcate Requests. A twenty-fve twenty-fve dollar ($25) ee will be charged or processing the new certifcate. Replacement Replacement certifcates are processed on a monthly schedule.
Credential Maintenance Program Candidates who successully pass the LEED Green Associate Associate exam must complete 15 Continuing Education (CE) hours biennially. 7) Ater Your Exam
Failing the Exam I you receive a score o 169 or lower you will be denied the LEED Green Associate credential. You will receive a print out o your exam results which will indicate your perormance on each section. You will receive an automatic email rom GBCI notiying you when your results have posted.
Retaking the Exam I you ail the exam, you may retake by registering again (as long as your application is active) in accordance with the ollowing policy. Candidates are allotted three registrations per exam section per one year application period. This means that you have three chances to meet the minimum competency score o 170 or any given LEED Proessional Credentialing exam section while your application is live. For the LEED Green Associate credential, this translates translates into three attempts at the exam during the one year application period. I you ail the LEED Green Associate exam three times, you cannot retake it until your application applicati on expires (one year ater your application was approved). Earning the LEED AP ater the LEED Green Associate I you successully complete any o the LEED AP specialty exams during an active LEED Green Associate Associate reporting period, the LEED Green Associate credential will expire and be replaced by the LEED AP with specialty credential. While the LEED Green Associate is an independent credential, it represents knowledge, skills, and ability levels that are subsumed by the LEED AP with specialty credential. Hence, the LEED Green Associate Associate exam specifcations and reerences are equivalent to part 1 o any LEED AP with specialty exam and the CMP requirements are hal o the those or the LEED AP with specialty. However, the LEED AP without specialty credential is not one o the tiered credentials; thus, it can be held concurrently with any other LEED Proessional Credential. Credential.
Veterans Administration Benefts The LEED Proessional Exams have been approved by the U.S. Department o Veterans Aairs or reimbursement. The VA, in accordance with the G.I. Bill, has agreed to reimburse veterans, eligible dependents, and reservists or the cost, up to $2000, o any o the LEED Proessional Exams administered by the GBCI since December 3, 2008. Learn more.

7) Ater Your Exam
Taking an Exam Multiple Times LEED Proessionals may not retest or a credential they currently hold, except when seeking to maintain their credential through retesting retesting within their CMP retesting period (between 3 and 12 months rom the end o their reporting period). Exam Content Appeals Following completion o the exam candidates may submit, in writing and in accordance with the Disciplinary and Following Exam Appeals Policy, Policy, comments on any question(s) they believe to contain technical errors in content. In your correspondence include your contact inormation, test test date, the specifc concerns about the question, as well as an indication o any comments let on the question during the exam. You are not allowed to copy the question beore leaving leaving the test center and are not expected to recreate the entire question in your correspondence cor respondence.. GBCI will review the question and you will be notifed o the fndings. Because o the need or test security, GBCI will not release exam questions or answers to candidates. GBCI does not respond to complaints or challenges received more than 14 days ater the test date and does not respond to complaints sent to organization organizationss other than GBCI. GBCI provides this process or candidates who believe an exam question contains technical errors in content.
