Objectives Listen to a story Admire Toto Turtle for learning how to be a responsible turtle Subject Matter Topic: Literature: Toto Turtle Takes Time to Tuck and Think References: Let’s Get Better in English Book TG and LM Materials: Toto Turtle Takes Time to Tuck and Think, Photographs, Laptop Values: Responsibility Procedure A. Routine/ Review Ask the students if they still remember past lesson. (Proper Nouns and Common Nouns) B. Motivation Ask the students what they do when they feel mad. C. Presentation of Concept Unlocking Vocabulary and Concept Development The students will unlock expressions in the text through questionanswer, gesture, and use of pictures. Motive Question Ask: What does Toto turtle do when he feels mad? During Reading/Listening The teacher will set standards when reading a story. The teacher will read the story “Toto Turtle Takes Time to Tuck and Think” and will stop at some point to ask the pupils what they think will happen next in the story. Post Reading T: Let us answer some questions about the story you listened to. D. Developmental Activity Refer the pupils to LM – Activity 70 Page 78. E. Practical Application/Value Integration The teacher will ask the student how to become a responsible students. F. Generalizations The teacher will ask the students what they have learned in the story, and how the turtle in the story did show responsibility. G. Assessment/Engagement Activity Refer the pupils to LM Activity 71 Page 79. H. Homework

Objectives Identify literary elements of a story Decode words with short /o/ and /u/ sounds Read about Bud the Hungry Turtle II. Subject Matter Topic: Literary Elements of a Story References: Let’s Get Better in English Book TG and LM Materials: Pictures, Laptop Values: Responsibility III. Procedure A. Review (2 mins) Ask the students if they still remember past lesson. (Story of Toto Turtle Takes Time to Tuck and Think) B. Motivation Recall the story through showing of pictures one at a time, in order that they happen in the story. Ask what is happening in the picture. C. Presentation of Concept The teacher will present and discuss the story case to the pupils. (TG Page 89) D. Developmental Activity The pupils will complete the story case through guided questions of the based on the story “Toto Turtle Takes Time to Tuck and Think”. (TG Page 89) E. Practical Application/Value Integration The teacher will let the pupils recall the story “The Crow and the Pitcher” through presentation of pictures. Objectives Read words with /a/, /e/, /i/ sounds Read literary text ( Bob’s New Car) II. Subject Matter Topic: Basic Sight Words with /a/, /e/, /i/ sounds References: Let’s Get Better in English 3 TG and LM Materials: Picture, Chart, Flash cards, laptop Values: Responsibility III. Procedure A. Review/Drill/Spelling ( Phonics/Word Recognition) Present the following words through flashcards it Him black is With red his Can When B. Motivation The teacher will show a picture of a car. The pupils will describe what they see in the picture. C. Presentation of Concept The teacher will read the story about Bob’s New Car and will ask some comprehension questions after reading. D. Practical Application The teacher will ask the pupils to use the words they have written on the board in a sentence. F. Generalizations Let the pupils read and spell the sight words on their own correctly.
