1. Pupils read aloud the rhyme about animals with correct pronunciation, stress and intonation.
A copy of rhyme about animals
2. Teacher discusses each stanza with pupils and instills moral value from the rhyme. 3. Pupils name the animals in the rhyme and identify them in the picture. 4. Pupils list any words that they do not understand and teacher explains the meaning verbally.
Practice (20 minutes)

1. Teacher pronounces the words that contain double consonant sounds ll, pp, rr, tt and dd and pupils repeat the words. 2. Pupils group the words according to /d/ and /t/ sounds in the table provided by the teacher (worksheet).

Production (15 minutes)
Sample of a rhyme:
1. Pupils need to search for other words that have double consonants ll, pp, rr, tt and dd sounds and make a list. 2. Teacher asks volunteers to write the words that they find in the table drawn on the board. 3. In pair, pupils need to write 2 lines rhyme/poem using the words those have double consonants sounds. 4. Teacher monitors pupils’ works and assists them if necessary. 5. Each group presents their work and teacher gives feedback on their works.
Closure (5 minutes)
1. Teacher asks pupils about what they have learnt on that day. 2. Teacher sums up the lesson.
