Year# 2 Issue# 255 th Date: 24 April 2008
Thursday 20th March 2008 Mahadharmavarman Dr. Yogindrasinh Joshi and Dr. Vishakhaveera Joshi recited the 14 th Chapter of Guru charitra in Sanskrit. While they were reciting P.P.Sadguru Aniruddha Bapu performed the ‘puja’ and ‘abhishek’ on Lord Dattaguru.
P.P. Sadguru Bapu’s Guidance For three Thursdays that same Shiva, that Shambhu, that same Bholenath, that same Bhola (Naïve) Shiva-Shankar, that Mahadev- this God is very stable in the minds of the Indians – He has stabilized in their minds, in 90% of the temples - actually actually to say 95% of the temples, there there is no idol kept. Somewhere we may have seen the picture but that is only His symbol. Even then in every nook and corner of India there is a temple of Shiva.
He is so Bhola
(naïve and simple) that he is easily pleased and grants boons even to demons.
He granted a
boon even to
Ravana and this very Ravana Ravana tries to abduct abduct His Parvati. He (Ravana) (Ravana) even tried to move him away from Kailash, the abode of Shiva. Even then Shiva continues to grant favours. Does it mean that He is a fool? Even when He knows that those boons are not possible He goes on granting these boons to the demons. He had given a boon to Bhasmasur that whomsoever you will touch on his head he will turn to ashes. And ultimately that poor Vishnu had to come and kill that Bhasmasur. Then is Shiva mad while He goes on granting boons to anybody like like this? Is He a fool or or is He so innocent? If He is so ‘bhola’ ‘bhola’ then how is that He is is the God God of Gods? How is He Mahadev (the (the God of Gods)? How is that then He
has the capacity of burning burning the entire Universe to ashes in a moment? And if we so decide to call Him so stupid, then in that case He is “Shivamjnanopadhisthan.” This means that He is the wisest, most intellectual intellectual of all. We We must realize realize that that in spite of of knowing everything, He pretends to be
‘bhola’. He is ‘bhola’ ‘bhola’ but not stupid, stupid, not unintelligent, unintelligent, not dumb dumb or
ignorant. But by being ‘Bhola’, He only behaves in a straight forward manner. He doesn’t behave in a deceitful manner. This God of Gods, Mahadev, unintelligent
very important thing we must understand. He is the
this Shiva, this this Tripurari Tripurari is ‘Bhola’ ‘ it doesn’t mean mean that He is
and He doesn’t understand anything. anything. But He is very straightforward straightforward and and
knows no cunningness and fraudulent behaviour. But in that case, we say, Vishnu, Krishna would
only manipulate things.
that
And Bapu, you tell us that MahaVishnu is
ParamShiva and ParamShiva is Maha Vishnu. Then, in that case is Krishna also ‘bhola’? Yes. Are you shocked on hearing it? Krishna is also ‘bhola’. Even MahaVishnu is also ‘bhola’. First and foremost both of them are not different. Even if He is One you see Him doing different activities and He appears to the individual devotees as they perceive Him. It’s simple. There is a father and son. The in a school. school. This boy boy is in the same school. school.
father is a teacher When the father
goes to school his role role changes. The same father returns returns home with the same boy, his role then changes. His behavior changes. Their talk changes, their mannerism change. They are the same people, the father and the son. But the place is changed; the purpose is changed. If the purpose changes then the appearance also changes and the conduct also then changes. In the same way,
“Parmatma” always behaves in a
straightforward manner. He behaves according to how people react to his straightforwardness, if they behave straight with Him, He is Shiva and for those who take advantage of His simplicity He appears as Krishna. Then He is Krishna the One who deceives – this is how the demons demons consider him. him. He will become Vishnu Vishnu and one doesn’t know how and where he will play His tricks. He is the same One but when he finds that somebody is taking undue advantage of His good nature or His good qualities, then He can only stand at the other end and carry out His work and in in fact He does it. It is difficult for us to understand. Bapu, Bapu, the One who is so ‘bhola’ can He become become a cheat (420) (420) there? It’s a very simple matter. It’s a simple matter from our daily life which we can easily understand. There is one tree. It’s a mango tree. There There are many mangoes mangoes on that tree; a hundred hundred of them. One is taken out. out. Right? You have eaten that mango mango when it is raw. raw. What will you think? That the fruits of this tree are sour. Another person comes. Remember that he also going to eat for the first time the fruits from the same tree. He takes out a ripe mango or eats a mango that is dropped ripe from the tree. What will he say? The mango is sweet. This means that a mango is actually sweet and sour as well. Here, we can say that a mango is first sour and then then becomes sweet when it is ripe. But when when a mango is is over
ripe, then
what happens to it? It becomes sour. Then is a mango sour at first or at later stage? Right? Then what is sweet? Therefore Therefore by our own experience, experience, what appears to us we try to judge things accordingly and we do the same thing about the Lord, about Parmeshwar. But that is the experience we have got. Out intelligence falls short, it has limitations. Therefore, we decide how God is according to the experience we have got.
And therefore, to some He
appears to be simple and innocent and to some He appears to be a cheat (420). But if He
wants to do ‘pradakshana’ (circumbulation) around the world, which means that if He wants to circumbulate around Himself, then He knows very well that He has got both the options for Him. It’s night on the side of the earth where we live. The Sun is on the opposite side and therefore there is day there. There, it is noon. The same Sun, only one. The same earth, also only one. But depending on on the speed of rotation of both of them the the time, the season are different. Therefore Therefore we can say say the same thing thing about the the Lord is He
Bhola Mahadev Mahadev
(Shiva) or the mischievous Krishna Krishna or the the ever alert, alert, shrewd but but very loving MahaVishnu. MahaVishnu. He is all of these together. In whatever angle we look at Him, in whatever way we can realize Him and to whatever extent we can understand Him, He is in that form. And these various ascetics have realized these different forms of the Lord. And with this realisation each one has established a different relation with Him. But He remains beyond all such relations. He accepts every kind of relation; He abides by it only for sheer pure love, love, only for grace! grace! Only to give joy.
Only to give
satisfaction and peace. Whether He is the Bhola Mahadev or the shrewd MahaVishnu MahaVishnu or the the mischievous, cunning cunning Krishna – He has only one intention that I should be able to help my children go ahead ahead
in their their journey journey of life.
And for this He is striving striving
hard and this is His “Leela”- (The Lord’s sport ). This sport means “Leela” His devotees sing in His praise. Shri Krishna tells us in His
Geeta, ”Matbhakta Yatra Gayanti”-
wherever my
devotees sing my praises; wherever they sing My ‘leelas’ I shall always be there. ”Tatra Tishthaami, Narada.” (O! Narada, I stay there). The importance of laudation is described Himself but everybody cannot sing the praises or glory of the Lord and even if they can they may may not get an opportunity opportunity to do it. While singing one may may have to hear oneself, even ten people may not assemble there and it’s not done for ten people to hear. Hundred people hear it or nobody may hear it, it, it is fine. One should go on doing it. But remember you need to have the abillity to do bhakti. However, much we may say that I am doing bhakti, bear in mind, that you need to be competent to do bhakti. You must realize that you need to have grace of the Lord to remember His name or even chant His name. If you do not have His grace you may not be able to even chant His name. We must remember this very well. This means His grace and my competency- these two matters must come together. Never ever think of your own worthiness. Whether I am worthy of it or not - don’t think of either of them. Leave it. Only think of His Grace. Remember that if you are thinking of your own worthiness then in that case if He decides your worthiness then you may have to spend ten thousand lives and yet you won’t get the opportunity of chanting His name even once. Therefore, what do you have have to look at? at?
Don’t see your own own worthiness or
capacity, see His grace; see His love. Learn to accept it. It must be very clearly clearly known that our own worthiness is not sufficient and the one who is aware of this fact, he only can appreciate everything that that God gives him. If there is an appreciation there is joy. And if there is joy, there is satisfaction. If there is satisfaction , there is contentment. And because of contentment , love grows; bhakti increases and he becomes happy forever and always holds the Lord’s hand. But a question arises in our mind? mind? We do not understand how how to accept the God’s grace in spite of the fact that we are not worth it. And at this point, Sainath in Saisatcharitra comes
to our help, help, He tells Nanasaheb Chandorkar, the dearest of His devotees,
Nanasaheb
Chandorkar has left for Shirdi from Nasik with his brother- in- law, Biniwale. Both of them take a bath at the bank of the Godavari river. There is a Dattatreya temple. Bineevale, is a devotee of Lord Datta. He wants to go there. Chandorkar says, ”No, no, we want to go to Shirdi. We are in a hurry. We will see later.” When Nanasaheb Chandorkar goes to Shirdi, Baba scolds him severely, ”Is this what you have learnt after staying with me for so many years? How could you behave like this? When there is Lord God like Datta, on the way. How can I bless the one who refrains from visiting Him?” If you want me to bless you, then first remember Lord Datta and then Sai further tells him, “It is good that you got away with the prick of the thorn. “ A thorn had pricked pricked into Nanasaheb’s Nanasaheb’s foot. Baba says, ”that a thorn thorn has pricked you.” Pricking of a thorn means that you will never forget this incident in your entire life. If you want my grace do not forget to surrender to Lord Datta, my father. Never forget it. If you forget Him, then you cannot get my grace. We shall do today’s
Upasana with the same spirit in mind.
Aradhanajyoti 16. Have you all got it? The book is kept in the purse. Now slowly the chain of the purse will be opened. Then she will take out the book. Such is the fate of the mobile also, with these ladies. They keep the mobile in the purse and move around. If the mobile rings, she will not bother to open the purse till it rings two or three three times. After one more bell she will start opening the purse, very calmly. And then, where is it kept in the purse? She will start searching. This means that by that time her husband or whosoever he may be, must have made 10 to 12 calls. But she calmly says “Hello”. By this this time also, also, he must have cut the call again and on the top of it, she will shout, ”what’s this? You don’t even have that much patience till I take out my phone?” But how long? “He (Vithoba) is standing on the brick for 28 yugas (aeons). But even then she (Rukhumai) doesn’t come from the Dindirvan. Remember, it was a distance of just fifteen feet. If you forget this then then you cannot succeed in the married life. And remember that I have already succeeded in my married life. And our Vithoba is teaching us,”Yuge Athavees Veetebari Ubha, Vaamaangi Rukhumai Dise Divya Shobha”- (He (Vithoba) is standing on the brick brick for twentyeight twentyeight Rakhumai looks
yugas and his wife,
divinely graceful.) graceful.) Rakhumai Rakhumai is at the “Dindeervan” “Dindeervan” (Dineer forest) at
Pandharpur. She is not standing by the side of Vithoba. Remember she has made Vithoba wait for twenty eight yugas and then she came walking to Him. Therefore the mobiles of the ladies are her (Rakhumai’s) followers, a proof of their support. The same point is proved while taking out the Aradhanajyoti Aradhanajyoti book. Would it not be better better if the book is taken out and kept? By the time the book is
taken out from the purse the chanting chanting of the the shloka has
already. I always decide to take out the book before but it never happens. That poor (Vithoba) waited for 28 yugas. Now He is not ready to wait for anybody. Definitely not!

“Datta Datta Twidam Vakyam Tarakam Sarvadehinam | Shradhayukto Japennityam “Datta” iti Akshardwayam | Om Dram Dattatreyaya Namah || “Datta Datta”- this sentence itself is a savior for every individual soul. “Datta Datta”- is a sentence and not a word. They are mere words but there is deep
meaning in the words
chanted. “Datta Datta Twidam Vakyam Tarakam Sarvadehinam” whosoever has assumed a ‘deha’ not mere body.
The animals animals do not not assume a ‘deha’, they have a body; man only has
a ‘deha’. The ‘deha’ is of three types. Whosoever has assumed this ‘deha’, is a man. For that every man, this sentence “Datta Datta” Datta” is the savior. You pray pray to Dattatreya whose whose original word is ‘dram’. “Datta Datta Eeise Laagle Dhyan, Haraple Man Jhaale Unman”. ( We get so engrossed in Lord Datta that our mind has surrendered to Him) Dattaguru is the mother and the father of this Paramatma, Dattaguru is everything to Him and that is why this Dattanaam is the greatest sentence for everyone who loves their Parmatma and is the original sentence that beckons the One (Lord Vitthal) who is waiting for 28 yugas and tells Him, ”Come running.” The whole world is enchanted by the flute of Krishna but Krishna goes on playing his flute flute by the name, Datta Datta. Datta. Remember this well. Therefore, even Sainath tells us,”Dene Ek Majhya Sarkarche, Konaache Dene Konaas Purte? Majhe Sarkar Je Deu Ka Karte, Na Sarte Te Kalpaanti | Mazya Bhagwantachi leela” ( My Sarkar is the one who gives. Whatever others give is is not enough. Whatever my Lord gives, lasts till till the end of time. This is the leela leela of my Lord.)
The Lord who is is my Guru- Harihar, Harihar, Dattaguru is
enraptured by Krishna’s flute and everybody in turn is charmed by that divine music. But Krishna is enchanted enchanted only by by
Dattanaam and since Dattaguru Dattaguru is pleased with the Lord
chanting His name, the Parmatma goes on chanting his name. With our chanting of Dattaguru’s name, the Parmatma is pleased, it gives Him joy, He is delighted. He who does everything for us; He who does all the running around for us- we should chant the name of Datta as that just brings joy to Paramaatma and therefore, we should chant His name faithfully and lovingly as He is my Father’s Father. || Hari Om ||
