Ex defined: The generic term of all methods of protection IX/iised in Europe, "Explosiongeschutzen," is used to cover all techniques of protection. Electrical equipment installed on oil rigs, in oil refineries, and similar places has long been recognized as a potential explosive hazard due to the risk of sparks or hot surfaces igniting the highly flammable gasses or vapors which may be present. Early recognition of these potential hazards led to many of the industrialized nations developing standards for construction and testing of such apparatus. • Designed to CENELEC Standards; EN 50 014, 016, 018, 019 and 020 • Certified for Europe by BASEEFA, PTB, NEMKO, DEMKO, and INTEX • Recognized by 17 countries in the European community • Meets or exceeds many international inspection and approval agency standards
The Martin-Decker Purged/Pressurized System With the Martin-Decker system, pressurization is maintained by leakage compensation which is achieved by topping-off the system to maintain pressure, resulting in considerably less air usage. Beside explosion-proof versions of standard instrumentation, Martin-Decker offers a full line of explosion-proof support equipment. Consult your Martin-Decker sales representative for specific requirements. For additional information, request data sheet P-203.

M/D-4200 ANCHOR LINE TENSION DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM Now you can monitor tension on up to ten anchor lines with electronic precision, and have an automatic hardcopy in either print or graph format. The M/D-4200 is made up of a processor, a CRT, an Analog Signal Conditioner and Line Regulator to protect the system from power fluctuations. For a permanent hardcopy of anchor tension, the PrintO-Graph (POG) will print either digital values, or graph tension in an easy-to-read chart format. The POG sample rate is also operator selectable. When seas are calm, one sample every half hour may be sufficient, but in heavy seas, when more frequent samples are necessary, the operator may select a sample rate of one second. When tension on any anchor exceeds the alarm limits set by the operator, the CRT will automatically reverse video (switch to black digits on a white background) and,

if desired, sound an audible alarm. In the Priority Alarm mode, the graph limits expand to full scale, giving you precise resolution for alarm conditions. Finally, the M/D-4200 is completely self-prompted. Which means that if you aren't sure what to do next, all you have to do is punch the "HELP" button. The M/D-4200 will ask what you want to accomplish, then tell you exactly how to do it.

Total weight is displayed on a single dial indicator. • Accuracy: 0.2 of 1% of full scale. • Metric, English or reverse-reading batching dials in 81/2", 12" and 18" sizes available. • Built to withstand shock loading. • Variable tare adjustment to zero out tanks, ladles, etc. • Easy installation; nothing to plug in, no power source needed. To order—Specify: Tension or compression system, indicator dial size, number of cells required, hose length, capacity.
TENSION AND COMPRESSION LOAD CELLS
Perfect for an almost unlimited number of weighing applications — weighs anything you can hang from them (tension) or set on them (compression). Rugged, accurate, virtually trouble-free. The simple design of the MartinDecker load cell has only one moving part. • Friction-free stroke transmits direct, signals. • Nothing to plug in; no power source required. • Capacities to 300,000 Ibs. for tension and compression cells. • Accurate to 0.2 of 1% of full scale. • Available in dial indicator sizes from 6" to 18". To order—Specify: Capacity, dial size, hose length, tension or compression system. 26
HYDRAULIC CRANE SCALES
Eliminates costly trips to a central weighing station by accurately weighing loads as they are lifted. Based on a rugged load cell design, built to withstand shock loading and continuous vibration. Available in capacities ranging from 0-1,000 to 0-200,000 Ibs. • Installs by simply hanging on an overhead crane or hoist. • Accuracy: 0.2 of 1%; can be calibrated to 0.1 of 1% for commercial use. • Available in Metric, English, and reverse-reading batching dials. • Remote indicating models available. To order Specify: Capacity, indicator dial size, remote reading, metric, reverse-reading model0
LIFT TRUCK WEIGHT INDICATOR WITH ADJUSTABLE FULCRUM
Speeds workflow by turning any lift truck into a mobile weighing station; eliminates the problem of truck overloads. Adjustable fulcrum enables in-shop calibration in only 10 minutes—no need for factory recalibration. Dial indicator gauge uses the hydraulic lifting system of the fork lift as the load sensor. Does not require use of a load cell. Installation takes less than one hour on most lift trucks. Can be recalibrated on the truck in minutes without removing gauge. • On trucks with a capacity of over 4,000 Ibs., average installation performance accuracy is 1% of full scale. Accuracy is dependent upon condition of lift hydraulics. • Capacities to 100,000 Ibs. • Manual tare adjustment to zero out weight of forks, containers, pallets, tote boxes, etc. • Easy-to-read dial with pulsation damper placed at operator's eye-level. To order Specify: Capacity, dial indicator size, make, model and serial number of truck, serial number, type and lift ratio of mast.
