1.0 STATEMENT OF WORK 1) Mobilization of manpower, machinery, pipes, fittings, valve and necessary accessories to site. 2) The connection area will be excavated (open cut) to exposed the existing 200Ømm pipe beside the existing valve chamber. 3) Proper barricades and clear sign of deep trench hazard will be observed and ecercised. 4) Isolating valve will be closed to disconnect water supply. This operation will be carried out by SYABAS personnel. 5) Scouring work to drain out water in the existing 400Ømm pipe. This operation will be carried out by SYABAS personnel. 6) To dismantle the existing 200Ømm isolation valve at centre of the road. 7) Jointing of short piece to replace the existing 200Ømm valve and connect it to new 200Ømm water pipe line to development site which the new 200Ømm isolation valve and chamber already diverted to the road site (green area). 8) All connections will be monitered and observed for any leakage until it has been satisfied by SYABAS representative and approved for backfilling. 9) The excavation area and existing valve chamber will be backfilled and compacted to the specification and method statement. 10) Work is completed.

5.0 CONTINGENCY PLAN 1) The connection area shall be examined and site preparations shall be carried out to ensure that no water ponding prior to connection work. 2) If connection is at low point and water ponding is unavoidable, dewatering pump with sufficicient capacity, shall be provided. 3) If it is found that there is still a pressure in the existing pipe after 12:00pm (after 2 hours of dewatering), the connection work shall be suspended and investigation will be carried out. 4) Investigation on the failure to isolate water shall be carried out as the following :4.1 Possible faulty isolating valve 4.2 Possible by-pass on the valve 4.3 Possible tee-in by pass the isolating valve 4.4 If failure is due to faulty isolating valve, the next up-stream valve shall be shut down. Upon detected the cause, the connection is re-scheduled. 5) To avoid possible delay by weather, site condition or any unforeseen circumstance, standly manpower, machinery and materials shall be made available when the connection works require a longer period to finish.
