This method statement applies for construction of new wall. The constructi on incudes excavation of soil, compaction of soil, steel and formwork, casting of concrete, backfilling and laying of waterproofing material.
Trakhees modification NOC/COC1 & XXXX work permit shall be obtained before start of any activity at the premises. All personnel shall attain the XXX safety induction. XXX personnel will jointly visit the site to identify the exact locations where the temporary bund wall has to be constructed based on approved drawings and site survey by XXX surveyor. (For site survey & field measurement separat e approved MSRA will be followed). XXX will prepare hot work and cold permit as required and get it approved from XXX as required. Barrication will be provided in the area.
B) Construction: The area for constructing the new bund wall will be mar ked and the area will be barricaded. After the completion of soil improvement required depth (As shown in drawing) below foundation will be achieved by mechanical excavation. Levels will be checked to confirm the depth of excavation. 300mm soil/Road base will be backfilled and compacted with water to attain 98%MDD. 1000 gauge polythene sheet will be provided before casting PCC. Formwork will be provided for the PCC. 75mm thick PCC will be poured onto the polythene sheet. After the curing period a 1.5mm thick self-adhesive Bitustick membrane will be provided on the concrete as part of the water proofing process. 25mm thick screed concrete will be poured on the waterproofing membrane for concrete protection.

Rebar steel will be cut and bend in the laydown area and brought to the construction site. The rebar steel will be tied as shown in the drawing by using binding wire. Cover blocks of 50mm will be provided as cover. Shuttering and formwork will be made in the laydown area. Shuttering will be placed to cover the rebar steel as shown in the drawing. Concrete for the foundation will be poured using a concrete pump. The concrete will be cured for 7 days from the day of casting and shuttering will be prepared for the walls. The bund wall will be casted in two lifts. All construction joints will be provided with water stoppers. Scaffold will be provided for any concrete works above 1.5 mtrs height. Water proofing material will be provided upto the existing ground level on one side and till the grade slab level in the side that is facing the tanks. Soil will be backfilled in layers of 300 and compacted to 95%MDD.
General Requirements
Trained and competent scaffolders to be deployed for works. Proper housekeeping to be done to minimize the risk of slips trips and falls and to keep the working environment tidy and free from obstruction. Proper housekeeping will be done regularly.

Safety Precautions:
Tool box talk/Planned Job Observations shall be conducted every day and before start of a new activity.
Conduct a task risk assessment meeting and assign a safety officer for the job.
All personnel shall have necessary PPEs.
The work methodology of the activity will be explained to all the key personnel and workmen involved in the block work activity at XXX tank farm area. Competent and trained work force shall be deployed for the job. They shall be trained for safety requirements and procedures of the job and the risk involved in the job well explained.
Area shall be barricaded and appropriate signs to be posted.
XXX work permit shall be obtained before start of any activit y at XXX premises.
Portable fire extinguishers (DCP-9 Kg) shall be placed at all the required places.
All the equipment and machinery will be kept at safe location and barricaded accordingly.
All equipment shall have a valid 3 rd party certification and approved by XXX
Ensure the existing facilities shall not be disturbed during the work.
Deploy trained and experienced supervisors for the job.
Mixing of Sand and Cement in designated area only.
All materials shall be stored properly with barrication as instructed/agreed by XXX Permit Issuing authority. Daily housekeeping shall be done before and after the work. The power generator set shall be switched off after completing the works. Ensure the spark arrestors to be in installed at exhaust of all vehicles and equipment before entering XXX premises. (Transporting Bocks, Cements and Sand etc...)
Petrol operated engine vehicles and equipment are not allowed inside XXX area.
All the diesel driven equipment to have spark arrestor with Valid test Certificates.
All equipment certificates shall be submitted for inspection and verification.
Avoid using electric equipment
Brass hammer to be used.
Continuous gas monitoring shall be done during works.

All personnel shall undergo the XXX safety induction.
All related EHS training, job specific training shall be completed in advance prior to work commencement.
Drilling area shall be cover with fire blanket hut.
First aid kit and certified first aider shall be available at site.
Banksman shall be provided for vehicle entry.
All equipment/vehicles and power tools shall be inspected by XXX.
Monthly Inspection and Colour code shall be maintained.
Only double insulated Power tools to be used.
All electrical connections shall come through 30Ma. RCD & Ensure Proper cable
management on site.

Accident and incident reporting procedure as per XXX incident reporting and investigation procedure shall be followed. Extra caution will be taken while working inside the live terminal, all existing XXX facility shall be protected by using safe means of arrangements & XXX operation/Maintenance instructions to be followed.
