PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS Restrict access to area as appropriate appropriate until clean-up operations are complete. Ensure clean-up is conducted by trained personnel only. only. Ventilate spill area if possible. possible. Do not touch spilled material. Stop or reduce any leaks if it is safe to do so. Use personal protective equipment recommended in Section 8 (Exposure Controls/Personal Protection). Notify appropriate government, occupational health and safety and and environmental authorities. ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS Do not contaminate surface water. METHODS FOR CLEANING UP SMALL SPILLS: Soak up spill spill with absorbent material. Place residues in a suitable, covered, properly properly labeled container. Wash affected area. LARGE SPILLS: Contain liquid using absorbent material, by digging trenches trenches or by diking. Reclaim into recovery or salvage drums or tank truck for proper disposal. Clean contaminated surfaces with water or aqueous cleaning agents. DEACTIVATION SOLUTION - Estimate volume of remaining spilled material on the floor and prepare 10 times as much deactivation solution as follows. Prepare fresh by mixing 5% sodium hypochlorite (household bleach) and 5% sodium bicarbonate or potassium bicarbonate away from the immediate area of the spill. The solution can be prepared by adding household bleach to the 3-quart fill mark on the 1 gallon plastic container container containing 1/3 of a lb. (150 grams) grams) of sodium bicarbonate. Put on the appropriate personal protection equipment and close the container securely and shake well for 1 minute. The materials and equipment for preparing solutions should be kept available for use in areas where spills may occur. PT. ECOLAB INTERNATIONAL INDONESIA Jl.
