These #hakras (literally #hakra means means rings) are situated at different different points in our body. body. $mong these #hakras% the &th #hakra is known as ' $agya #hakra' located between the eyebrows and is said to be
the seat of the mystical "third eye". The physical location location of this chakra chakra is at the center center of our forehead. ust abo"e the place place between our eyes. It is belie"ed that undalini (the energy field) tra"els from the first #hakra (also known as (uladhara #hakra% (uladhara #hakra% situated at the base of our spine) and tra"els to nd% rd% *th+..chakra to reach the ,th #hakra of -ahasrara. Here it meets with the -upreme #onsciousness -hi"a. The '$gya #hakra' is the &th chakra (the (the second last #hakra #hakra in the path of undalini). I mean 4ust look upwards with your eyes closed . 5ocus your closed eyes at 67 degrees abo"e 4ust at the center of the forehead (at the place of third eye.) 1ow slowly at about twosecond inter"al% start counting in your mind backward from one hundred to one (that is 866%99%9:%9,....and so on). $s you do it% keep your eyes centered towards the third eye.
- Here I want to clear a doubt which comes in the mind of many people , Well it seems too vogue to know the exact position of third eye. In the middle of forehead is OK. but as I try to concentrate my both eyes at that point I get confused where is the exact point of third eye Is there a way to know that I have centered my eyes exactly on third eye Answer To know e/actly that you ha"e centered your eyes on the third eye is "ery simple. $s you draw your eyes towards the center of forehead by looking upwards at 67 degree angle% at a pa rticular point both of your eyes will become still% absolutely motionless. You will feel as if a force is slowly pulling your eyes towards itself. It will be 4ust like a magnetic attraction. $s and when you e/perience this state% you'll be at the right point ; 3 y the time you reach .....8(in backward counting)% you will feel a strange sensation in and around your third eye. There will be a feeling which is difficult to describe in words. eep your concentration on third eye. ?nce you achie"ed this state of stillness of eyes many of you will feel as if you can see your thoughts. ust like a screen you will see your thought appearing before you . Ha"e you e"er thought what is the source through which we see the inner thought process of our body =. 0hen you close your eyes there are many things which we see and obser"e. 0e obser"e all those things through third eye. Your thoughts will stop. If they appear at all% you will be able to see them like a dream. In this situation you will reali@e the real watcher in you. You will be able to easily percei"e the witness inside you. -omething different from body and mind and yet a part of you. ust be in this state for 8687 minutes. 1ow slowly return from this state to the state of normalcy. Aelease the strain from your eyes and slowly shift them from the third eye to their normal position. Bet them loose and free. Co"e your consciousness from the third eye. >e still for few minutes. $llow the eyes to retain their normal mo"ements. Inhale and e/hale deeply for three time. -lowly open your eyes. Your meditation is complete. This third eye meditation is a "ery powerful method for de"eloping concentration. This is also a "ery "ery helpful e/ercise for eyes too. Your eyes will remain healthy. 1o matter how much strain and tension your eyes are sub4ected to in a day% doing this meditation daily in morning and e"ening insure your eyes against any further damage. Ceditating on '$gya #hakra' is also belie"ed to be helpful in de"eloping intuiti"e power.
4ust learning meditation. Dlease note that we should not learn meditation for gaining some kind of meta physical or supernatural e/pertise. Bearn meditation for the sheer 4oy of meditation% for the bliss it pro"ides u s. If you e/pect something from it% you will de"iate from the path .
"W WO#$% O W'I'() Though I ha"e taken care in e/plaining this meditation technique of Trataka by telling you 4ust that which is sufficient for you E I still feel that you should be aware of the sensiti"eness of this meditation and about some precautions which you should follow while trying this. 0hen you meditate on $gya #hakra% you meditate on a part of your subtle body. It may happen that when you meditate on your third eye% you feel that the center of your forehead is heating up. 0 hen it happens it indicates that the third eye is attracting energy of the undalini. Though this heating is not harmful% you should be "ery careful. There may be a feeling of hotness with itching on third eye area. $s and when it happens stop immediately. $s a layman who does not know the intricacy of this undalini and its "arious paths% it s better to limit oneself to the process of meditation only i.e. achie"ing a still and thoughtfree state of e/istence. Dlease don't indulge in this meditation too deeply if you start feeling too much hot sensation on your third eye area. 5ew things should be used only in moderation if we do not ha"e the capacity to handle their larger implication. -o be happy and be meditati"e. Try third eye meditation without gi"ing any thought to undalini awakening. ust do what has been told and you will be in meditation. The awakening of undalini is a concept of yogis who are full time dedicated to this sub4ect. 0e% as a common men and women of twenty first century% neither ha"e he time no r the patience which is required for undalini awakening. 1e"ertheless% if you do want to know more and e/periment on this% please consult a yogic e/pert who can personally guide you. $s far as meditation is concerned what I ha"e told you is enough.
