WH Questions Structure

STRUCTURE Wh questions questions and H question : who, what, where,when, why and how. -

ques questi tion ons s beg begin in with with a que quest stio ion n wor word, d, such such as who, what, when or where or where.. The rest of  the word-order pattern is the same as in yes/no questions : do, does, does, or some or some other  auxiliary  ( can/might, may/might, shall/should, will/would, must/had to) is placed before the subject.

WH questions in simple present : WH + DO/DOES + SUBJECT Examples: Where do you work? Where does she live? When do you wake up?

WH Questions with "be" : WH + BE Examples: Where are you from? Who is that man? When is your class?

WH Questions are similar to Yes/No question except they have WH words at the start. Examples: Yes/No Question ………………. Are you from Canada? WH question ………………….
