Temporary Friendship Tatkalika Mitratwa Planets standing in 10,11,12, 2, 3, 4th of any given planet get temporary friendship between them. Therefore, if natural friendship exists, they become intimate friends; if they are equals, and if temporary friendship as above arises, they become friends; if they are natural enemies, and if there is temporary friendship, they become equals.
Planets in 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9th of a given planet acquire temporary enmity. If this temporary enmity occurs between friends, they become equals; if between equals, they become enemies; if between enemies, they become bitter enemies.

TEMPORAL RELATIONSHIP AMONGST PLANETS Apart from above, planets have temporal relationship amongst them, by virtue of their being posited in a particular house counted from a particular planet : - Planets in II, III, IV, X, XI, XII houses are temporal friends. - Planets in I, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX houses are temporal enemies. For example, suppose we have to consider the temporal relationship between Jupiter and Sun. Jupiter is in Cancer and Sun is in Libra. That means, counted from Cancer (4)(where Jupiter is posited), Sun is in IVth, i.e. Libra (7). Hence, Sun is a temporal friend of Jupiter for this horoscope. The Temporary Friendship Table is summarised in a tabular form below : --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PLANET FRIENDS ENEMIES --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SUN Mon, Jup, Sat Mar, Mer, Ven, Rah, Ket MON Sun, Mar, Mer, Ven, Rah Jup, Sat, Ket MAR Mon, Jup, Sat, Sun, Mer, Ven, Rah, Ket MER Mon, Jup, Sat Sun, Mar, Ven, Rah, Ket JUP Sun, Mar, Mer, Ven, Rah Mon, Sat, Ket VEN Sun, Mon, Jup, Sat Mar, Mer, Rah, Ket SAT Sun, Mon, Jup, Sat Mar, Mer, Ven, Ket RAH Mon Jup, Sat, Sun, Mar, Mer, Ven, Ket KET Sat Sun, Mon, Mar, Mer, Jup, Ven, Rah --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------From I and II above, we get to know the actual relationship of planets with regard to a particular horoscope in the following way:
References Appendix 67 III. Permanent + Temporary = Best Friend Friend Friend Permanent + Temporary = Neutral Friend Enemy Permanent + Temporary = Arch Enemy Enemy Enemy Permanent + Temporary = Neutral Enemy Friend Permanent + Temporary = Friend Neutral Friend Permanent + Temporary = Enemy Neutral Enemy This can be tabulated in a Five-Fold relationship (Panchadha Maitri Chakra) for a particular horoscope. This is categorised into 5 heads, as shown above (Best Friend, Bitter Enemy, Friend, Enemy, and Neutral); hence the name. This has to be worked on case-to-case basis, so that actual relationship among planets for a particular horoscope is known. The Five-Fold Relationship Table for the sample horoscope is shown below. Sample horoscope is for the following birth particulars, which will be used in the entire book as sample for different calculations and analysis. Date of Birth : 10.12.1993 Time of Birth : 3.50 AM Place of Birth : Bombay This can be found out only after horoscope has been made. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Planet Best Friend Bitter Enemy Friend Enemy Neutral --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sun Mon,Jup Ven, Rah Ket - Mer Mars, Sat Mon Mer, Sun Ket Mar, Ven Jup, Sat Rah Mar Mon, Jup Mer, Rah Sat Ven Ket, Sun Mer - - Jup, Sat Mar, Rah, Ket Sun, Mon Ven Jup Sun, Mar - Rah Sat, Ket Mon, Mer, Ven Ven Sat Sun Jup Mar Mon, Mer, Rah, Ket Sat Mer, Ven, Rah Mon - Jup Mar, Ket, Su Rah Sat Sun, Mar, Ket Jup Mer, Mon, Ven Ket - Sun, Mon,Rah - Mer, Jup Mar, Ven, Sat

Astrology is the study of celestial bodies i.e. planets and stars and its influence on human beings. In India, 'Astrology' is known as 'Jyotish Sastra'. Before discussing about Jyotish or Jyotisha sastra, let us understand how it came into existence………………………….We have four vedas in our Hindu tradition. The Sanskrit meaning of Vedas is knowledge / wisdom. This knowledge is in the form of verses, mantras and hymns. Vedas were divided into four. They are as follows: 1. Rig Veda 2. Yajur Veda 3. Sama Veda
References Appendix 70 4. Atharvana Veda Six vedangas were created in support of four vedas. These vedangas are known as limbs of veda. They are as follows: 1. Shiksha 2. Kalpa 3. Vyakarana 4. Nirukta 5. Chandas 6. Jyotisha Jyotisha sastra is the science of celestial bodies i.e. planets and stars. It is the study of time based on astronomical calculations. Since the 'Jyotisha sastra' was created to support Vedas and continued its journey from Vedic period, it is known as Vedic Astrology in English language.
The below chart is drawn for easy understanding of my readers.
References Appendix 71 The states of sattva, rajas, and tamas come from me, but I am not in them. These three gunas deceive the world: people fail to look beyond them to me, supreme and imperishable. The three gunas make up my divine maya, difficult to overcome. But they cross over this maya who take refuge in me. Others are deluded by maya; performing evil deeds, they have no devotion to me. Having lost all discrimination, they follow the way of their lower nature.
