This tutorial details how to disable BPI+ through the use of a graphical user interface rather than via the command line. Requirements IP Full View View Software (Available in the Downloads Dow nloads Section) Modified SB5100 or RCA DCM315 Cable Modem (Buy one in the store)
STEP 1: Enable the telnet daemon at http://192.168.100.1:1337 on your modem as shown below:
Step 2: Open IP Full view (Run as Administration if on Vista), go to the telnet tab in the application, and click connect.
Your modem should then prompt for a login and password, enter them as they appear on your http://192.168.100.1:1337. Once connected, select sigma (i) for SB5100s, and RCA DCM315s, and AMBIT 250 (i) for SB5101s.
Step 3: Use the functions on the left side to disable / downgrade BPI to your choosing.
Step 4: Don't forget to turn off the telnet deamon in http://192.168.100.1:1337 once you are done as it creates a significant performance loss.
