About this notes
I
always had liked to grab and old idea and work with it until it seems you cannot work it any more. And one o the last ones I called it, “every 10” (count 10) which has its origin in the effect “Moe’s Move Card” created by Moe Pittsburg (Morris Seidenstein). I know this thanks to the help of my friend Roberto Giobbi. The original idea was very simple, the deck was shuffled and when you extend it face up on the table to apparently memorize the whole deck. You only memorize the cards located in the 10, 20,30 and 40 position.
Then the deck is squared and its in mechanics grip. Then you ask for a number between 1 and 52 and thanks to a pass (you only move from 1 to 5 cards) you can locate the interested card in the given number. For example, if they tell us the number 43 we only have to move up 3 cards from the bottom to the top. So the card that was in the 40th position now is in the 43 position. Also the card that was in the tenth position now is in the 13, the one in the that was in 20 now is in 23, the one that was in the 30 now is in 33. But the important thing is that we know the card that is in the position named by the spectator. In the example the 43. This is the effect and the classic handling, but the power of this idea is that you can have the complete control of the whole deck by only knowing four cards that we will use as key cards. From here a world of miracles is open and a powerful weapon to delude anyone who dares to standup in front of you. Fast Set Up of the System C-10
A
really easy method to put four cards in four certain places is the following: The four card will be situated in the bottom of the deck in the next order, diamonds, clubs, hearts and spades being the bottom card.
The deck is in the right hand grab in Biddle grip with the face on top. As show in photo 1. In this position, we will tilt the deck towards the magician (us) and we will start to count from bottom one by one each card with the right hand (Photo 2). When we count the ninth card, the left thumb will peel the ten of spades to the bottom as the tenth card, as is show in photos 3 and 4. We will continue counting, doing the same with the ten of hearts placing it in the twentieth position, the ten of clubs in the 30 and the ten of diamonds in the 40. With this method, I had prepared the sequence in front of the audience, but its not the most recommended.

ame as before, the four tens are located in the bottom of the deck in the order: diamonds, clubs, hearts and spades being the bottom card. In this case the deck is face down in mechanics grip in the left hand. The right hand stars to extend and count cards from the top (photo 5).
When we count the 9,19,29 and 39 card; we will leave the respective tens in each respective position by pushing them under the extension (photos 6 and 7). Photo 6, the middle left finger will push the interested card and place it the interested place of the extension thanks to the long fingers of the right hand (photo 7).

Shuffling the Deck (maintaining the C-10)
W
ith the tens sequence already prepare in C-10, we will give the deck divide into groups to the spectators so they can shuffle the cards. We will start with the deck of cards facing down in mechanics grip on our left hand and the first thing that we are going to do is to pass one card

from the top to the bottom of the pack. So now the tens are in the 9, 19, 29 and 39 position. But they are still going to be separated by 10 cards each ten because we haven’t break the C-10 sequence. Turn the deck face up in your left hand and extend the cards until you see the first ten (it will be the ten of diamonds), as show in photograph 8. What you will do next is to take all the cards that are after the card preceding the ten of diamonds. So now in your hand you will have de deck of cards with the ten of diamonds as the second card (photo 9). Give the cards that you have taken to the spectator in your right. Continue extending the cards until you see the ten of clubs. Same as before, give all cards that are after the card preceding the ten of clubs. Then give all the cards that are to the right to a second spectator (photo 10). Do the same thing with the ten of hearts. What you will do is extend the cards until you see the ten of hearts, leave the ten and the card above it in the deck and give the rest of the extended cards to a third spectator. Then do the same with the ten of spades giving a new packet to a fourth spectator. Finally give the rest of the cards that you have in your left hand to a fifth spectator. The fact that we moved one card from the top to the bottom in the beginning helps us use the tens as key cards to rapidly count ten cards. The only exception is the first spectator, which we gave him 12 cards. A good thing about this technique is that when we give ten cards to each spectator the tens are hide. 13

Now after each spectator has shuffled its packet of cards, we will easily put them back together in the C10 order. Collecting and Reorganizing the Deck We have to collect the packets of cards in the opposite way we gave them. So first we are going to collect the packet that we gave last. Is the one with the ten of spades.

When we get it in our hands, we will tell him that the packet can be shuffle and cut. When we say this, we extend the cards face up in our hands and locate the ten; we count one card more and cut and complete. So now we have the ten in the second position (photo 11). At this time, we can enhance chaos by opening the cards and asking the spectator if he wants to change any position of a card. You don’t care, as long it doesn’t alter the order of the ten. If so, we only have to reposition the order and we are ready to go. Now we turn to the fourth spectator (the one that haves the ten of hearts) and ask him for his cards. We will do the same thing that we made with the first spectator. But we have to be carful to maintain the packet where the ten of spades is in our hands without mixing it with the new one. Photographs 12, 13 and 14 show how we open the packet and maintain the first one. While we say we have to cut and shuffle more. What we do is to find the ten of hearts count one card more to the right and cut and complete. So now we have the ten of hearts second from the top (whit the deck facing up). We will do the same with the third and second spectators. So now will have all the deck almost recomposed. So now we have a ten every ten cards from bottom to top with the deck facing up. The last spectator has the packet with twelve different cards. Now we will do the contagious effect with this spectator. We are going to tell him that after he has shuffle his cards, he can cut as many times he wants and then leave them with the rest of the cards that we have in our hands (always face up).

Why the contagious effect? Easy, if with the spectator we give him freedom to cut his cards that means that with the others was the same thing. Only that in this occasion the spectator is the one ho made the cut; giving to understand that the cut is no more than the process of the shuffle. Last, we have to pass a card form the top to bottom (remember that the deck is facing up in your hand), and then turn the deck. Now the 10 of spades is in the ten position, the ten of hearts in the 20, the ten of clubs is in the 30 and the ten of diamonds is in the 40th position.
Set up of the C10 from a Borrowed Deck version 1
W
e will set up the deck in C10 order starting from a borrowed deck. Or if we ended a effect and for the next one we need the C10 order. We will ask for a deck of cards and in the action of finding the jokers or counting the cards to check if its complete, we will cull or debex all the tens to the bottom. In case you are unfamiliar with the cull of debex technique, now I will briefly explain it:
Cull or Multiple Debex

Extend the deck face down in your hands (photo 15). The middle and ring fingers will be in contact by the face with the interested card. The fingers will pull the card under the extension towards the right extracting it (photo 16). Simultaneously put the left thumb finger over the back of the card next to the right of the card just

inserted. And pull to the left. Making it take the place that the other card left vacant. We will name this action: “cull the card”. Immediately close the extension with both hands, by doing this the card will end in the bottom of the deck.

In the C-10, we will use a multiple cull: Start by spreading face up the cards in your viewed from hands. When you see the first ten, “cull” it (as we the top just explained) leaving it under the extension. Continue passing cards until you find the second ten, which you will also “cull” putting it over the one that you “cull” before. Continue “culling” the third and fourth tens putting them with the others under the extension. Close and square the cards making that the tens end in the bottom of deck. By doing this you just “cull” multiple cards. In order to make a good “multiple cull”, you have to have a right pace and a relevant excuse for having to browse the entire deck. In the photo 17 showed from an under view, you can see how to “cull” the an interested card. Photo 18 shows how the middle finger slides the ne “cull” card leaving it over the one that we controlled before. And photos 19 and 20 show how the spread cards cover the tens. Once you have the tens in the top part o the deck, put them in the next order: Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds. Being Diamonds the first one. Now with the deck facing up, with your right hand extend and count nine cards. Once you done that, with your left index finger push the bottom card under the extension. And with your right hand fingers you receive it. 16
Give this packet of cards (with the ten of diamonds under) to a spectator so he can shuffle it. Do the same thing with the following three tens. And to a fifth spectator give the twelve cards that you have in your hands. Now to collect the packets to reorder the deck, follow the steps explained above in the section: Collecting and Reorganizing the Deck.
Ordering the C-10 order from a Borrowed Deck (starting from zero) version 2
T
his time we are not going to use the “cull”. Ask for a deck and once you have it, place it face up in your left hand. Start by extending the cards counting nine cards. No many options can happen:

That there is a ten in this nine cards. That there are any tens. Index finge That there is more than maintains contact one ten in these cards. In the first option, if there is one ten in the nine cards its really easy. Because you only have to add one more card and give the packet to a spectator so he can shuffle it.
If the second option happens, you only need to maintain in control the nine cards on the top of deck while you continue spreading the cards. When you find a ten you only have to “cull” it (photo 21). Then give the ten cards to shuffle. And the last option, if there is more than one ten it’s really easy because you only need to “cull” it to the bottom of the pack. And then give it from below as mentioned on top. And to collect the packets of cards you only have to follow the steps explain above in Collecting and Reorganizing the Deck. Only remember to who you gave each ten and the twelve cards. 17
Ordering the C-10 order from a Borrowed Deck version 3
T
his time we will prepare the deck in C-10 without giving the cards to shuffle. What we will do is to run thru the deck to make the “cull” with the excuse of saying if there is any cards missing, or looking for a card or seeing if its complete.
With the deck facing up, spread the cards in your hands. And the objective is to locate the ten of diamonds and put it in the position 12 while we are spreading the cards (photo 22). If any other ten (not the ten of diamonds) appears before we get to the wish position, we will “cull” it to the bottom of the deck. And if the ten of diamonds appears we will “cull” it to the twelve position (photo 23). Now we have to put the ten of clubs ten cards after the ten of diamonds. To make this we will do in this way: If the ten of clubs is between the next nine cards we only need to count one more card and “cull” the ten to the wish position. And if not we will maintain the control of the nine cards and locate the ten of clubs and then “cull” it. Remember that if you see any other ten you have to “cull” it to the bottom of the deck.

Then we have to do the same thing
with the ten of hearts and finally with the ten of spades. Once we are done we will have the deck in C10 order (photo 24). .
Ordering the C-10 order from a Borrowed Deck version 4
T
his time we will use the table, we are going to cut small packets and shuffle on to the table while we prepare the C-10. To do this we will have the deck facing up in the left hand and the right hand will start counting cards.
If in the first ten cards you see a ten, what we will do is to take the group of cards before the ten and throw it to the table (photo 25). We have to count how many cards we threw to the table. Then we grave the ten and the necessary amount of cards to complete 10 cards and throw them to the table (photo 26). If in the group of cards, we do not see a ten, we will throw six on to the table. And then continue spreading the cards until we se a ten. Then we will continue spreading three more cards to the side. And the right hand will grave the four cards and throw them to the table (photo 27).

If we have more of one ten in the group of cards, we will “cull” the other tens to the bottom of the deck. And leave the ten as the top card of the group of cards in the table. We will do the same thing with the three other tens that are left in the deck. The last group will have twelve cards instead of ten.

Now we had put the tens in a random order in the C-10. We can still work in this way but we only have to memorize the order of how we putted the tens. 19
A Few Ideas

We can use the C-10 system to force a card. For example if we have a six of spades in the 10th position and we have three more six of spades. We can put one in the 20th, another one in 30th and the last one in the 40th position. Now we only ask for a number between 1 and 52 and to get to the six we only have to move a couple of cards from top to bottom or the other way.
We can have the deck divided by suits in the next order, 10 cards of spades, 10 cards of hearts, 10 cards of clubs, 10 cards of diamonds and finally 12 cards mixed. Now we give a group of ten cards to a spectator to shuffle, next the other group to another, then another group to another, then another group to another and finally the twelve cards to the last spectator. Each spectator will mix a suit so when we reorder the deck we only have to learn the value of the cards that occupy the 10, 20, 30 and 40th position (we now the suits already). This will help you to memorize four cards (only the values).

If you love Faro shuffles, you will like the next thing. If you put the four tens in the top of the deck and do five Faros In, the tens will end almost in the C-10 order. The first, second and fourth tens are eleven cards apart and the third ten its in the exact position. To get the deck in C-10 order you only have to pass the top card to the bottom after the fifth faro and “cull” any card that is in the position 11-29 (between the first two tens), then cull another card between position 31-39 and the pass that cards to the bottom.

If you want is possible to use two sequences in the same deck. This can be use in he same effect or in different tricks. To make this you could have the prepare cards in the positions: 10, 20, 30 and 40th and in 9, 19, 29, 39. So in this way you could use one sequence and in the momment you pass one card from bottom to top, the deck will be prepare in the new C-10 order.

Classical Memorization of the Deck
T
his is a very impressive effect because we are going to simulate that we can memorize the entire deck in a couple of seconds and then prove it to the spectators. This is the classical version, maybe the version that gives origin to the system. What I am going to expose next are my ideas. See and name; with one and more cards. Before we start, we are going to rehearse with a fun way to guess three freely chosen cards. When we only know the identity of one. This is not part of the C-10 system, but its part of the effect that why we are going to treat it separate. Force a card to a spectator and tell him that without looking to leave on the table. Now pass the deck to a second a spectator and tell him to grave a card and without looking at it to leave on the table to the left side of the card that is already there. Now give the deck to another spectator and tell him to do the same thing. What comes next is really fun, with rhythm and without pausing we will do the following: Is that the card… (We say). At the same time we turn the left card, see its identity and name it. … and this (referring to the middle card). At same time we turn, see the identity and name it. Now we point to the right card (is the only one we really know) and say: … and this one is… (Without turning it )… we name it. When we name it we make a pause for two seconds and then we turn it. Because we clearly guess the right card, this action will influence the first two actions giving the global sensation that we guess all the cards. You can try it and you will see the result that produces. To make it really convincing, you have to rehearse the rhythm and pausing. If I’m not mistaken, the idea of watching and naming the card with only one card comes from Vernon although I’ve never been able to ensure this.

29 The Memorization Routine.
T
his is the easiest way to use the C10 system. Because we are going to give the deck to be shuffle but then we do not have to prepare the deck. Give the deck to someone to shuffle while you say that you are going to memorize the whole deck. Once the give it to you, extend in ribbon spread the cards face up on the table. What you are going to do is to memorize the cards that are in the 10th, 20th, 30th and 40th position (photo 28). To do so, you only have to point one by one each card like if you where memorizing them. But what you are really doing is to count each card to find easier the wanted positions (photo 29). In this part I make the following gag: in one or more occasions, I change the position of one card. This makes some spectators laugh because they think that with only moving one or two cards will make easy the process of memorizing the deck. But in did is what is happening. I can put in the interested positions (10, 20, 30 and 40) a card that is easier for me to memorize. Fore example, if the two first ones (10 and 20) are Ace and two of hearts, I can put in the 30th position another card of the same suit. Once you simulate the action of memorizing the order of the deck, square the cards and put them face down in your hands. Then ask for a number.
This trick works better if they name you a number bigger than 25 because you can name many cards before you get to the card in the given number. But if they name you a small number, nothing happens because the effect is really impressive. You can try to get a big number just by asking for it. Lets suppose they name you 32. What we will do is to name the card in the C-10 order that is closes to the given number. In our example we are going to name the card in the 30th position. Then we will pass two cards from bottom to top 24
to make that the named card gets to the 32th position. If we really had memorized the order of the deck we have to prove it. So now we start counting the cards. But a good thing to know is that we know the first two cards that where in the C-10 order. But know they are in the 12 and 22 position. So now we can name the cards (12 and 22) before turning them. But if we also use the technique that we name and turn at the same time we can name more cards to prove what we had said. So we have the deck facing down in our left hand and with the right hand we start to count and turn the cards on to the table. And when we get to the card number ten we say: “Now comes…”. We turn and name it. “…and now…”. With number eleven, we also turn and name it. “…and now…”. This one we now, so we name it then we wait for two second and then we turn it. We continue counting the cards in the same way and when we get to the 20, 21 and 22 we can repeat the same action. Also when we get to the 30, 31 and 32 we do the same ending the effect..
Semi Memorization
T
his is and idea for the ones who love stack decks. We are going to use only half of the deck in any order fore example Mnemonic of Juan Tamariz or even mine call “Mi Baraja Personal”. But are going to give the sensation that we know all the deck.
So, you have the deck face down in you left hand and the bottom half is already in any stack deck order. Wi are going to give ¼ of the deck (from the top) to a spectator to shuffle then a other bunch of cards to another spectator to do the same and the magician will end with the stack cards. We make a false shuffle.

When the spectator gives you back the cards we are going to arrange the deck as the beginning (the bottom half is the stack order). Spread them on the table, with the excuse that you are going to memorize the order of the cards. What we are going to do now; instead of using the C-10 we are going to use the C-5. Tell the first spectator to give you a number between 1 and 25 and tell to the second to give you a bigger number. So you have to memorize the cards that are in the position: 5, 10, 15 and 20. So when the first spectator gives you his number you name the card and start to count. Fore example if they tell you 16, you will only pass one card from bottom to top secretly. We count to the named position to reveal the card. What comes next its really easy because we now the rest of the cards (stack deck). We only have to be aware of how many cards we passed from top to bottom or the other way. So now we ask for the second number when they tell us we only name the card (we already now) and start to count. As a final climax we can say all the cards that we have in our hands, closing with a beautiful memorization routine.
Card to Number (A.C.A.A.N.)
T
o get a greater success in this trick, I recommend making this trick stand up in a parlour magic situation even though you can do it sitting down. We are going to use the C-10 technique and a suit force that I had never described. Another beautiful thing about this trick that the secret part (where we make the moves) its done before we even start the effect. To start we are going to tell the audience that we are going to present the classical effect of card to number. One spectator will think a suit of the deck, another one a value and the last one a position and at the end everything has to magically match. You explain that to make this more difficult, you are going to base in some important aspects. The first one is that is a borrow deck, the second one is that the audience has to shuffle. You ask for the deck and you give it to shuffle. In the first part of the notes we already explained how to prepare the deck in the C-10 order. And that’s what you have to do. So you will have the ten of 26
Spades in the 10th position, the ten of Hearts in the 20th, the 10 of Clubs in the 30th and finally the 10 of Diamonds in the 40th. With the deck facing down we will count ten cards and maintain the break under the 10 of Spades. Now we turn to the spectator in our right and open the deck in that point (where we have the break) and we say: “I can tell you to look a number…” Once he does it, we continue: “But that will not be so free. To make it a free choice…” And now we will look an spectator from the front and we will say: “ I do not want that you see it, I want that you tell it to me: Give me a number between 1 and 52. Any position!” Once he says the position for example 32, we look at him and say: “No we will have any position selected…” And turning back again to the spectator number one, we say: “And a number that you are thinking”. In this point many things had happened, lets analyze them by parts: First, we showed openly the ten of Spades to the spectator in our right. But because we did this in the context of explaining something, no one took care. Remember that the phrase is: “I could show you a number… but its better than you think one between 1 and 52”. We make this showing the 10 of Spades to the spectator in our right then we turn to one in our front. The spectator that saw the ten of Spades will not even fill anything strange so he will not care for the ten. The transition from showing a card (ten of Spades) and then asking for a number will eliminate the interest of the shown card. When the spectator in our front says the number we say: “So now we will have any chosen position” and looking to the spectator in our right we say: “And a number that that you are thinking.” In this moment the spectator in our right is conscious that he has to register the number that he saw (about 5 seconds ago). With this, we told the spectator to remember the value of the card in a second background. Now we are going to force the suit. Remember that we have the deck in our hands. When the spectator tell us the number, we have to think how many cards we have to pass to get to nearest ten. In our example was number 32, so we now that the ten of Clubs is in the 30th position. So we only have to pass two cards from bottom to top to get it in the 32th position. Then we refer to another spectator and tell him: 27
- ”You know that the deck has three suits, Diamonds, Spades, Hearts and….” What we do with this question is to not name the suit that we want to force. So the spectator is the one is going to say the suit. We are not going to say that Clubs is the chosen suit. Right now we are only interested that that spectator names Clubs (in our example) and then we are going to make the force. - “So, this is it” we say, “that a spectator thinks of a suit, other one a value and other one a position… and that at the end everything matches. Do you want that we try this effect? Now is when we are actually going to start the effect at least in his expository phase. But the secret “cheat” we already made it. The audience will answer that yes so you continue. Turn to the spectator in your right and say to him: - You have a value in your heath, which was? (Because we say this question in past, automatically we refer to the value 10, which was the one that he saw at the beginning). - The value is 10(Answers the spectator). Now we refer to the spectator of the suit and we say: - You named a suit, which was… We are telling to him to tell us the suit that he named not the one that he picked (he never picked one). All the audience will fill that he thought of the suit. If you see that the spectator has trouble remembering or naming the suit, you can help him telling him: - Club, isn’t it? - Perfect 10 of Clubs… Immediately putting all the attention to the spectator in our front we say: -… in the position? - 32 (spectator). 28
To enjoy the effect, ask to spectator to count 32 cards and he turns the card number 32. Showing that magically is the 10 of Clubs.
An Idea: If we do not want to show the ten of spades at the beginning, we can prepare the deck in the following way: AS, 2H, 3C, 4D, 5S, 6H, 7C, 8D, 9S, 10H, JC, QD, KS, AH, 2,C, 3D, 4S, 5H, 6C, 7D, 8S,9H, 10C, JD, QS, KH, AC, 2D, 3S, 4H, 5C, 6D, 7S, 8H, 9C, 10D, JS, QH, KC, AD, 2S, 3H, 4C, 5D, 6S, 7H, 8C, 9D, 10S, JH, QC and KD. You can observe that 13 cards separate each value. You can also use any other stack deck like Si Stebbins or even mine. First we are going to ask for a value. When they give us one, we are going to cut to it. Leaving any card of diamonds to the bottom. In this moment the other four values are going to be in the 13, 26 and 39. In this case we are not using the C-10 order instead is every 13. Now you can continue with the eFfect. This is just an idea; I do not really use it. I think that it doesn’t worth of the preparation to gain a little bit of cleanness in the effect. In way the effect becomes cleaner but in another way you lose a lot of spontaneity.
W
10th Open Prediction
e will have the deck prepare in the C-10 order. And we will leave it in the table. If we are with other magician friends, we ask for a deck and if not we take a new deck (different color). We say that form this new deck we are going to take out 3 predictions that we are going to leave face down on the table. Actually we are not going to leave 3 cards there are going to be four. To do so we are going to do the following: Take the new deck and spread the cards with the faces towards you, locate the 10 of spades and cut to it leaving it on the face of the deck (photo 30). Spread again the deck and push all the tens to the top (photo 31). Square the deck in your left hand, and with your right hand take out the tens that are jog (photo32). Once you do this, with your left hand maintain a break under the ten of spades (photo 33). Now leave the tens on the face of the deck (which is always facing you) in the next order: hearts, clubs 29

and diamonds. Leave them in an advance position like photo 34 shows. Now two things will happen at the same time. First the right hand will square the tens with the deck stealing the ten of spades. And second the left hand will take all the deck (except the tens) to your left pocket. The three tens (in reality four) will now be in your right hand in the order that we already know. Removing the rest of the deck will make the effect to look cleaner and will maximize the effect. To end with the predictions, the left hand will take the tens and leave them on top of the table. It’s really important that we never show the faces of our prediction. If you want you can show with any technique that they are three cards in fact. But I think that it’s not necessary. So we have to create it. To have the excuse, we are going to do the following. We will point the deck and say: “We had place three predictions”. Then take the take and extend it in our hands while we say: “And there is a card that has to match with our predictions”. So no now we have the deck in our hands. With the deck in mechanics grip in your left hand, with the right hand point to an spectator and tell him to give you a position from 1 to 52. But tell him no to tell you one of the beginning or the end in order to make more difficult. Nothing will happen if they name one of the beginning, only that the effect will not be as strong because they will only need to count a few cards to get to the prediction. And if they name a really big number (45 to 52) it will be really monotonous all the counting. Now the only thing that we have to do, is to put any ten in to the named position. For example if the spectator names 34 we have to pass with the pass four cards from bottom to the top. That will make that the 10 of clubs end in the 34th position. Now

give the deck to the spectator and instruct him to count face down the cards until his named number. When he starts, we grave the three prediction cards (actually four), and we have to leave the same ten that will appear in the bottom of our prediction. In this case is the ten of clubs. Its really easy because we now the order of our predictions cards. So in this case we only have to pass one card from bottom to top and we will end with the 10 of clubs in the bottom of the four packet cards. Then we will show our prediction at the same time we steal the bottom card (ten of clubs). To do so, we will make the next movement: The prediction cards, are in mechanics grip in our left hand. The right hand will grave the cards (photo 35). The long fingers are on top of the cards and with the left small finger we pull down one card leaving space to place the right thumb between the single and the three cards (photo 36). At the same time the right hand will open (fan) the three cards and leave them on the table while the left hand will stay with the ten of clubs and lap it. Once we open our predictions, we say: “these are my predictions”. What had happened to this point its really good to the effect. First we have made the secret move when all the tension was to the cards that the spectator was counting. When we showed the prediction we created expectative to our audience. We have made visible the impossibility of this effect what makes it more dramatic. Ask to the spectator with a gesture to continue counting until his number. Now we only have to wait and once he gets to the number make him turn the card and place it the prediction. We had made a really easy and clean “Open Prediction”. At the end of the effect sometimes happens the following: some spectators forget that the tens came from another deck. So my advice is once that you end the effect take time to put the tens in the other deck.
Some Ideas We could present the same effect with only one deck. We only have to have the tens duplicate and take four indifferent cards. Or if you don’t like the idea of lapping the card, you can use a technique like Ascanio spread to hide the extra card.

Prediction with Two Decks
A
card is selected from a deck. Then appears in another deck in a thought position. This is a really strong effect that we can make impromptu with the C-10 system. We have to have two different color decks, one is prepared in C-10 and the second one it can be shuffle.
If we borrowed the two decks, one we will give to one spectator so he can shuffle it. And the second one, we are going to give to many spectators (in reality prepare it in C-10 order). The C-10 we are going to leave on the table. Then we are going to ask for a number between 1 and 52. We are going to grave the deck that’s is on the table and handle it to a spectator in the action we are going to place the nearest ten to the named number. For example if they tell us 24 we only have to pass 4 cards from bottom to top to get the 10 of hearts in to the 24th position. Now we are going to take the deck that is being shuffle and extend it on the table. We are going to locate the ten that is prepared in the other deck (in our example the ten of hearts). When we square the deck that is on the table we are going to pass secretly the ten of hearts to the top. Then you have to force the ten in your prefer method. In my case I like to use the method that I describe in “Libertad de Expresion” which is forcing the card with the deck face up. And now everything is done!
Memorization by the Backs

(To make solo or in duo)
he deck is being shuffle by many spectators (the really shuffle, no C-10 order). The magician then spreads the deck face down on the table and announces that he will memorize the deck by the backs. Everyone loughs, then the magician ask for a position. Once they say a position the magician says that in that position is the two of spades (only an example). It really goes like that! In case you perform this effect in duo, immediately your mate can name the card.
This is a surrealist effect and it can be really impressive. What I like the most is the idea of using the C-10 method without any previous preparation. I am going to explain the method to be presented in duo. If you want to perform it alone, once you read the instructions it’s really easy to adapt. 33
Announce that once you shuffle the deck, you can memorize it by its back then transmit the information to your partner. This is what is going to happen even it sounds impossible. Ask for a deck and you are going to give it to shuffle to five spectators by small groups. Actually each group will have ten cards. It’s really easy to count them visually while you spread them. You only have to pass 3, 3, 3 and 1. We make one group of ten cards and give it to one spectator, the next one to a second, then we make a third one, a fourth one and finally the twelve remaining cards we give the to shuffle to a fifth spectator. What comes next its really easy, pick the first group and leave it face up on the table. Your partner has to memorize to top card. Then pick the second group and leave un square on the table this gives time to your assistant to memorize the second new top card. You have to do the same with the 3th and 4th group. Now your partner knows the 4 key cards that are in the position: 10, 20, 30 and 40th. Now spread the deck face down on the table. Ask for a number when they tell it, your assistant will name the card from the memorized that is closets to the number. If they say 24, your assistant will name the 20th card and you will know that you have to pass four cards from bottom to top.
INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATION You so not have to leave the groups of card on the table you can do it in your hands. You take a glimpse to the top card while you leave the cards on your left hand.
