Letter of Motivation
Since the dawn of civilization civil engineering, is vital to human world, making its contribution to make life easy for mankind. The scientific, mathematical and challenging work of civil engineer fascinated me from the beginning of my secondary education. As I like and enjoy the challenging works, I was more inclined towards civil engineering. Moreover, when I was at school, whenever I used to see a person wearing safety helmet and a jacket, I consider him/her an engineer. I thought that he/she on the site are the only guys who can solve any problem and can face any challenge, when they come across any, and which inspired me a lot. Furthermore, whenever I saw a guy drawing maps and the one looking at the maps on site, was also other reason that increased my desire to command project drawings. My interest for engineering further increased when I saw the tall and attractive building with creative designs on TV and newspapers. My ambition for future is to become a fully qualified Civil Engineer and to work my way up in a large construction company to become a Project Manager. I have a passion to design and complete projects where I can utilize and promote my creativity of building building and leave a landmark for engineering world. I have read many case studies and personally met with people who have achieved this and I am working hard to gain the skills and knowledge such challenging challenging project require.. I have studied B.Sc(Hons) Civil Engineering, from Cecos university Peshawar; I believe that my graduation provided me the most basic and essential skills and knowledge of modern civil engineering. Planning and management and structure designing and analysis was the most enjoyable subject and I aspire to work in the same field, to get to its acme. I am currently working as Site Engineer with Zeeruk International Consultants, on the construction of signal free corridor Islamabad (Islamabad Highway) . It’s a very challenging job but my inc lination to work under hard situations has always helped me to learn more. Likewise, the practical experience of designing and working on the site really helped me alot to gain hands on experience in understanding variety of techniques and skills of managing the site and analyzing the structure by using variety of computer aided software’s. Once I entered the workplace, I didn’t stop my engineering studies. It’s go on to become certified Professional Engineers (PE), which requires experience and testing. As without this certification civil engineer is limited in its authority. The PE license allows me the authority to sign off on all projects within my professional specialty. The course that I chose is Masters in Civil Engineering. As I already have a little bit of experience in structure designing and analysis side, that’s why I choose these courses to became a specialist in the specified field. Additionally, I like to work on post of senior structure and more specifically as bridge engineer, to solidify my ambition to became a professional bridge engineer world wide the chosen courses will definitely helpful to get my aspiration of project engineer bridges. Likewise, my cousin is a foremost motivation for me, to study from a German university, who studied from a German university and is now doing job as senior economist in World Bank. Owing to the quality education in developed countries like Germany always prompt me to imbibe the advance knowledge, skills and implement that knowledge in proper way after coming back to my home country. Additionally, it will be good opportunity to interact with people from other part of the world who came to study from German universities. Also a chance to know about different cultures of the world and especially German culture and language. Moreover, I have also taken the initiative to set up a youth organization at my village which will work on
various problems that our village is facing i.e. clean water, cleaning of sewerage system, rehabilitation of
drugs addicted persons and providing healthy environment to the youth of our village. I am working as vice president of the organization and I find this very rewarding and exciting as I am employing my communication skills to this hobby. The area to which I belongs is terrorist stricken, where literacy is near to non, owing to that there is huge deficiency of management in government as well as private organization. Lack of management every time leads to failure of any developmental projects. Besides that, experts in such subjects are required at national level meet evolving needs of urban development and to manage the development projects in big cities of Pakistan. These courses would also help me compete with other engineers working with public and private sectors in the c ountrsy.
