7.1All wiring for lights, sockets and switches should be PVC single core cables drawn through heavy guage (BS6099), Wiring in plant areas and in surface installation should be PVC single core cables drawn through G.I conduit only 7.2Minimum conduit size for branch circuit wiring shall be diameter 20mm, The number of wires in one conduit shall not be greater than those specified in the prevailing EDD regulations 7.3Diameter 25mm PVC conduits shall be used for extra low voltage services like Data, Voice and Television 7.4Wherever long length of conduits, pull boxes shall be provided at every 10 meters. 7.5The PVC conduit shall be of a continuous and effective effective means of protection for wiring and a separate earth wire shall be drawn into all conduits 7.6All the PVC conduits shall be laid concealed in the block works or above the ceiling, no conduits to be laid in screed or plaster 7.720% spare conduits shall be provided for future usage for necessary applications. 7.8All external electrical items shall be weather proof and water tight to comply with min. IP65 7.9Space factor in conduits and trunking should be as per EDD recommended. 7.10All adaptable boxes shall have minimum depth of 1.5 times the conduit sizes 7.11All spare/empty conduits shall be provided with pull wires with 200mm extra length 7.12All damaged / unused conduits should be properly sealed 7.13Conduits with draw wires, trunking etc., to be provided for thermostats and associated control wiring as per approved A/C drawings and mechanical drawings.
7.14Where suspended ceiling exists, exists, the conduit may run on the structural structural soffit 7.15All necessary supports shall be provided to install all electrical items in an approved manner 7.16All recessed fittings shall suit to approved type of false ceiling 7.17Metal clad type accessories shall be installed in all plant areas. 14.1In general, not more than 10 lights shall be connected to any one lighting branch circuit. Exceptions can be made in the case of lowcurrent-consuming lights. 14.2Wiring for lighting sub circuits shall be carried out by using minimum 2.5 Sq.mm PVC cable for a circuit wattage not to exceed 1000 watts. 14.3The fluorescent fittings shall be HPF of 0.9 PF minimum and switch start type with capacitor to avoid radio interference 14.4All external lights shall be controlled automatically automatically by 24hrs adjustable electromechanical/ electromechanical/ electronics programmable timer switches 15. 18.TELEPHONE
18.1The electrical contractor shall be responsible responsible for the supply and installation of all the conduit work for the telephone installation installation as shown drawings and in accordance with the requirements of BATELCO. The supply and installation installation of all wiring and and equipment will be carried out by others. 18.2Conduits for telephone outlets shall terminate in a flush plastic box with an ivory blanking blanking plate. All conduits shall be complete complete with suitable draw wires installed to enable the system wiring.
18.3The Contractor shall also seek the approval of the BATELCO of the system installed for all conduit runs before commencement of the installation. 19.FIRE ALARM DETECTORS
