Orchestral and Chamber works by the cutting-edge Swiss composer Beat Furrer. Yet another release brought to you by the masterful Austrian sound engineers at KAIROS. Beat Furrer (*1954) is a rare composer that possess the rarefied understand of both the art of composing and the art of musicmaking. The founder of the formidable Viennese new music orchestra Klangforum Wien, Furrer knows how to deliver an energetic and novel piece of music that is written in a straightforward and pragmatic manner, despite sounding rather complex. Possessing an insider's knowledge of technique, Furrer's use of color and orchestration is quite unique; much of his music is incredibly fast-paced and quite emotionally driven. Moreover, the performances on this CD are really not to be missed. Beat Furrer Nuun, Presto con fuoco, still, Poemas
