Gold Mining for YOU ! NO JOB? Here is one job you cannot get fired from!
Why do so many people fail at Gold Mining? Thousands set out for the gold fields during each gold rush in our recorded history, with only a seeming few succeeding wildly, lots with a comfortable living, and mainly the merchants and servant-services earning a decent living from what has been a boom-bust business, and to some degree, still seems that way, but only “Seems” that way though. In actuality, most of today’s successful mining operations are well planned, staffed by people who have studied their craft well, and applied it in a systematic fashion to arrive at a pre-known return of “so much gold for so much effort” . Although today’s mining techniques have evolved into newer, safer and more productive meth-
ods, the general effort one needs to recover gold and other precious metals has not. One hour of time equals the time each person has to donate to the general fund of effort required to extract, process and recover ore values to market-ready income streams. What HAS changed is the level of “grunt”, danger and health concerns over the intervening years, to the point where modern operations operate by computer inter-face with dangerous equipment and exposures affecting work quality, and produces a consistent product each and every time. After 40 years of over-the-mountain experiences in the field, in the laboratory and in the refiner’s arena I have come to learn the best incomes are not always from the same sources every time, as market’s change, areas change, politics change and certainly money makes fools of us all no matter how well we plan. Here in this booklet we will show you how to locate the nearest source of gold, how to recover it. No matter whether in the city or in the mountains, deserts or oceans of the world, we will steer you to it in general, and in particular in each place that you may have a point from which to begin a further, in-depth research for my recommended type and kind of gold recovery possible in that location. Today’s “New-Entry” , beginning gold miner has to realize that gold is STILL where you find it, and the “Gold” you are going to find is the short list of readily -identifiable precious and BASE
metals you are going to discover, time and again, and I will not only show you how to identify them, but evaluate their worth where you discover them in a very short time, determine if it’s worth the effort to continue, or move along to the next opportunity. Then we will help you access the hidden markets to sell that Silicone, Tantalum, Platinum Family Group as well as the ever-present Gold-Silver-Copper we find nearly every precious metal location recorded in time and on paper. Best of all, with careful research and common sense you can make a descent living for little or no cash outlay for often very profitable recovery efforts, where others cannot see what we will guide you to.

Like any training program, finding and recovering gold or any other precious metals requires you learn the preceding steps we just outlined, in which order they can be verified and how, as well as write the simple agreements with actual land owners or operators to profit all parties in a factual, inexpensive and profitable manner, so you can start earning CASH right away...not months down-line, and on borrowed money. If you are absolutely broke, but know of a good source of ready-to-acquire gold, you can generally borrow gas money enough to go pick it up...No? You will have a wish-list, inventory of properties list and your actual resources you can use or use as collateral to advance when the time is right to collect on your research for real. In the following pages we will start outwards from the city, perhaps where you live today, and examine the outward circles that surround you, and will get larger and stronger as you collect your information, tools and supplies you decide your journey will need for your next phase. This will and should include the following as an example; 1 Maps and directions 2 WHERE to prospect —legally 3 Start-up cash 4 Other specific supplies 5 Research 6 Recommendations 7 History

Even the most dedicated miner-operation has a place in the city. Chances are you are there sometimes for the balance of the season, as are all our Alaska miners at this time, nearing Christmas once again. Our nation is undergoing financial problems, the result of other people meddling around with our National funds, your personal future and setting goals we are going to have to re-define if we are to keep pace, at the very least. What better time than to perhaps change our life-style to match closer what you really want and need. We are going to start by showing you how to mine for gold in the city. Only mining the most obvious source of gold there is itself with the people who presently own it out there in America. Why would these fine citizens part with their hard-earned gold? Normally, they might not. But if your read the papers, hear the radio or watch the Tube, chances are you know a whole lot of people wanting to keep their homes, start a new business or pay their obligations in life often need cash, and hold various forms of gold and other precious metals in the way of “expendable” or otherwise non -critical gold holdings that they will trade for cash. The heart of this business is simply advertising to let people you know you want their “un-wanted” gold or other precious metals...those being 1. Platinum 2. Palladium 3. Silver 4. Gold These typically bring them 45% of SPOT PRICE at the best-paying Pawn shops in the USA. This includes those who advertise heavily on TV, by mail or anywhere else. You can have this as public information by writing or calling them to verify this and making a copy of this and others offers to carry in a simple binder as proof. Your customer will come right to you or your bank to show their wares, at their front doors or offices, or strictly by mail like the TV advertisers. Your top offer to the seller should be 50%, beating out all others and you now own it. Where to sell it? Midwest Refiners is a good place to start. David H. Fell is another, on the West Coast in the USA. These and other refiners recommended in the ICMJ Magazine are good places. What do you make as profit? Typically this will be 94% of today’s spot price. All of this is easily transacted in one calendar week per buy-sell, netting you a good living.

Above is a credited photo of our good friends at Midwest Refinery, ready to buy your newly-purchased scrap gold stuff from your desperate clients, eager to sell to you for that ready cash (45% of Spot) you gave them. This means for every ounce of gold you buy and sell, you will make 94% of spot from Gold, or a net return of $810. per each $900. per ounce Gold, less the cost of your purchase, or $405., leaving you a tidy $405. in the profits. This is essentially doubling your investment each of these ounces you can manage to buy and sell. There is NO MINIMUM, and NO MAXINUM you can re-sell. In just a very few transactions, you will quickly earn a serious income every day you want to work. No Boss, and set your own hours of work. Every day...all the time...completely free, independent and financially secure. Yes you….you alone can do this.
Your ads can be near-direct copies of the ones you see in any throw-away paper, advertiser, mailer, radio or TV ad if you want to go big-time . The Internet also offers you a “I buy Gold” ad on your own website, and can be as fancy, include Internet advertising, like “Google Pages” or other Targeted, top -line pre-paid ads available for placement found on every page of Search Results you can find right now on the Web. These can all bring you automated phone calls, gold in the mail, and checks from the refiner, all while you are doing what you want to do, reducing your daily workload to just a few hours daily, or perhaps just one or two days a week, all while earning a great living. This is Mining in the City. Your clients need cash. You offer it in person, can size up the purchaser and sale, complete each good transaction and earn a clean rollover of your “portfolio” every time you wish for interest rates America’s citizens can only dream about, as they watch their 401’s melt away on Wall Street.

There are also thousands of Dentists and other Dental Labs who run through a LOT of Gold, Platinum and other precious metals in their building and re-building of dental crowns. These also show up regularly in Estate Sales , Auctions and other private sales due to death or other uncontrolled factors that will put such dental scrap on the market. The dentists and crown labs are only interested in getting a better price than they are presently getting. You can usually beat that easily by being a bit more personal and generous with them, as they will be regular customers, larger customers, and consistently a source of real profits every week, month, etc. Profits generally ranging from 15-25% profit margins each buy and sell to your refiner. Start where you are in your area, and build outwards, as these need a personal visit each one to maintain good relationships and accounts
Don’t forget Jewelers and Hock Shops as well. Lots of them can’t get out or take the time to research the refiners market to get latest prices...so your ready cash might just be what they need as well. These might not result in a big profit margin each deal, but remember it will probably be considerably bigger..and your “investment money” will have once again rolled over. Earning a great return. Perhaps growing 5-15% more each time, and directly under your control without any meddling. And ALL YOURS!

Local advertising or nationwide, all advertising seems to be roughly the same in costs-perclient gained, as you gain in confidence in making your deals, building a nice client list and earning a good living. Personally, I keep an ad running when I am in town, and on “Auto Pilot” when not, thus doing a good percentage of incomes -unseen by mail alone, each purchase and sale to my refiner is separate, earning what is possible, depending on whether it is a jeweler, pawn shop, estate sale, or private citizen. Each is special, helping someone in life and my costs are relatively small, NEVER exceeding 25% of the monies earned, and generally hovering around 10% of the overall income, with advertising, office costs, fulfillment costs and travel expenses. This is also Perfect for Booth Sales at Gold and Jewelry shows, as you buy up other’s extra
inventories or sell your Estate Jewelry favorites. The Quartzite Months-long desert meeting starting in October and running through February in South-Western Arizona, complete with near 1 million clients attending, as you do a whopping business right on the spot, if that type of Vacation-Sales appeals to you...A whole lot of excitement and great fun as you meet and make thousands of new friends, and get others to “bird -dog” for you, even offering a “finder’s fee” if you like to those who can boost your business or reciprocate with their web pages or other referral system for your mutual benefits. Let your imagination run wild here and have some fun!
Here are hundreds of acres of visitors, sellers, great times and good food for the Traveler in you, as you too can roam the thousands of tables of great bargains you might offer yourself back home or to other merchants where you are from. Here I find all manner of novelty gifts and swap for the things I want as well, while paying my way each trip, free and complete !

Many old gold mines that closed at the onset of WW2 never opened again. These are often still owned but earning no incomes because the mine has flooded out in the intervening years, yet may be crammed full o f dissolved precious metals, ready for recovery by simple means. This takes an investment and agreement with the mine owner of course, but may be the source of Big Bucks, like a recent similar mine we assisted in Utah that had over $4.00 per gallon in Gold and Silver, earning the owner thousands of dollars weekly, 24 hours a day as a totally passive income, now functioning and earning for the new partners. Here is a picture of our own “ Quantum Recovery System ” that we manufacture specifically to recover “liquid” Gold and
other ionized metals in the water in these old, flooded mine sites, tailings ponds and streams, and outflows from existing mining operations, plating companies, jewelry manufacturers, jewelers and others who contact waste waters that contain precious metal streams of some kind. This unit sells for about $3,000. ready-to-run right out of the box, holds over 120 lbs of reduced metal on the metalreducing media, like carbon and resin beads, specific for the various kinds of metals sought after. Smaller versions are available as well for sampling or laboratory-scale recoveries.

Finding the abandoned mines that might contain these flooded-mine gold values can be complicated or simple, depending on your methods or approaches. In the Western USA we are familiar with the Carlin Trend gold areas, from Nogales, AZ , in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, California, Colorado, New Mexico and other popular mining areas, well known for their existing and past mines, such as the thousands of such mines from one end of California to another, just waiting for someone like you to visit, test and verify this is the Truth, and for you to place a Quantum Unit right on the spot and collect that hidden treasure. One such mine we setup has a life-span of an expected 25 years and a payout of over 10 million dollars ahead. All because of a little legwork by the guy who read this before you, and thousands more are waiting. Another such Hidden Treasure is located in former OIL WELLS , directly . Like our former Gold mines, many of the former Oil Producers are now “dry”, that is devoid of paying oil revenues, yet still flooded...that is flooded with Salt Water now. Oddly enough, much of these oil holes are also right smack in the path of the Carlin Trend..the lazy path of gold deposits trailing from Nogales, Mexico, up through the State of Nevada, then across the entire state of California, getting bigger all the way in Gold, but uniform as Salt Water in wells down some 600 feet, and lower. At this level and below, the salt in the water has dissolved the gold and other precious metals as Gold Chloride, Silver Chloride, etc. and once again recoverable as metal directly on our Quantum Unit media charges, reducing as real metals, totally passive and easy to smelt down as a dore for your refiner. These dore bars must contain 51% or better with precious metals to sell to refiners, sell fast or do-it-yourself in your own lab setup for even bigger profits.
These former oil wells are still there, from Pennsylvania, Texas to California, ready to be first tested, then put into operation if it looks good, which is 10 cents per gallon returns as a “break - even” point we can make money with the Quantum Sys- tem. You may be surprised at this hid- den treasure...so many across the USA and other gold-oil combination deposits, one below or above the other, as pictured above. Copyright © 2008 Goldmineworld. Quantum Jr. is an idealized version of our much larger Quantum Recovery System that being designed for similar purposes in the mainstream of the Mining industry, whereas this unit is duallyaimed at the water improvement trade as well. At left is the general layout, with all components displayed in a loose fashion. The entire unit lifts out and can sit aside the box itself, on top, or left as-is, as seen above. At far left are the 3/4” rubber machine hoses to transfer the water in and out, connecting to the standardized 1-1/2” internal piping/plumbing, to the 20” High-Impact Plastic Housings, through each sequential 20” filtration cartridge, for a wide variety of contaminant or Precious Metals removals, listed elsewhere. For GOLD MINING and other Precious Metals recovery, these units are un-paralleled in ease of set up and operation. Jr, taking less than 24” square on the floor or in the truck bed, with a setup time of about 5 minutes, each filter housing receives it’s respective Carbon, Zeolite or Resin media cartridge, assigned it’s recovery number, then run at the recommended 10 GPM, per cartridge, or a total of 30 GPM total. This system can connect to your own pump that produces at least the minimum 50 GPM required to run the unit, that can be a gasoline, electric or diesel type, or even a gravity feed for truly economical operation. Remember that gravity feed produces 10 lbs. pressure per foot of vertical fall. With a known 10 lbs. of line loss, figure on 60 ft. of required total fall. Used around the world, our original, larger Quantum continues to provide high volumn filtration streamside or in the leach plant. Can handle up to 100 Gallons per minute, depending on the choice of media, type of water, and whether or not you are recovering from a leach, or natural waters.

Forget the common manner of getting into gold mining, as most of the existing discoveries are well documented as well as owned these days, but lots of them by small miners, estates and traveling back and forth in ownership in magazines kike the ICMJ, as each month brings new ads for sales, exploration and development to profitability. Many of these of course are languishing for lack of funding, which is where you come in. A small ad in the same publication and others will bring lots of new owners or them to you, as you can offer to test them for free, and establish partnerships with those who have recoverable values, and amenable to an agreement to share a portion of the recoveries possible from those flooded gold-bearing areas, mines and stream-flows that you can profit by. Several such placements of your, or his Quantum Unit will give you both an income worthy of any gold mine for very little investment per location, and maybe a vast fortune as have others earned like this. At a nominal 10 gallons per minute, times 10 cents per minute, per unit, equals $1.00 per minute, $60.00 per hour = $1,440 .00 per 24-hour day, and $43,200 per 30-day returns. With costs of 10% processing following this collection period will yield you both a $38,880.00 income stream to split, per unit, per month! This is worth a lot of leg work before hand, isn’t it? Research this aspect of recovery
in a known gold area, perhaps with the help of your new friends made as a member of the GPAA...a well-respected mining club for established mining fans and professionals who might just have what you need to make this dream come true without too much effort. GPAA has member clubs in most mining areas out West in the USA where you can visit, experience weekend adventures and make contacts for finding that magnificent spot. Obviously this is a step up from “Mining in the City”, but perhaps the next
one up from your revenues at that effort, re-invested into a more permanent location, and your new, permanent income/retirement fund as well. Gold on carbon at left. (100-power) At right the gold as a sheen all over the media charge, coating and inter -penetrating the Carbon, recovered from flooded mines. Copyright © 2008 Goldmineworld. The other side of Gold Mines is all too familiar, with the bulk of them having closed down at the start of the war in 1942, and thereafter somehow never quite opened again. In time these passed down to private hands in the East, and into BLM ranch lands in the West, both now problematic to acquire and man age as “open” land for the
exploitation one might think they confer by law. An intelligent conversation with most miners I know certainly peak an interest in most to explore the possibility of gold recovery from their ores, tails or waters left as a result of former activities. Others are in the wake of certain riparian flows, downhill from known gold deposits or other valued deposits. These can be revived at times when they pass our simple tests for gold content...meaning you might make a deal with your new owner/friend, and quite possibly a business of sizable proportions. Often a side be3nefit of other metals, like Magnetite or other base metals might be present to carry the costs of such a pro ject, like a small percentage of Copper can easily pay the bills at the refiner following refining efforts from your new Dore bars. These mines and miners can be found on several locations on the Internet, listing their virtues and prices. This might fall between the cracks with respect to the mining business, as the imposition on the active mine is much smaller than typical mining exploration. Here you might connect to the standing water column, tailings lake or runoff streams. Thousands of these exist and ready to test and run for results, if you have the insight to see this path. Almost everyone I have ever approached with a proposition to share exploitation on their high-grade property ends in an agreement that is profitable for all concerned. A simple agreement is to offer a percentage of the proceeds (if any) to the original owner, and perhaps even share in the costs as well. Those with our equipment such as the Quantum Unit, or the Portable Pilot Plant recently designed here for DIY folks. The Pilot Plant is average welding & metal-worker skills for most gentlemen, and might take a week of weekends to complete in most garages, and well within the abilities outlined in the Construction Book .

One of our mid-point report books is titled “Gold from Alfalfa” . This outlined an ongoing effort by many different persons, Universities and research firms now exploring the profitability of recovering gold directly via the deliberate planting harvesting and processing of certain plant species to recover metallic Gold, Silver and Platinum Group Metals. Unknown however are these same values found in ash residues from wood boilers, coal burners and other sources using these products for other purposes that quite naturally will self-reduce into the cellular structure of the equally-gathered carbon molecules in the plants, coal or other bio-mass being now burned for fuels. These metals reach melt-point in the furnaces and gradually gather as metallic beads which will eventually coagulate into “Fly - Ash”. This then can be separated chemically or pyro -metallurgically as purified Gold and other metals later. This might well be a great new source of precious and other metals for enterprising souls, with a small outlay of money and right effort. We can report that our own recovery rates using certain varieties of Mexican “Charcoal” available as Bar -B-Q carbon have a lot of powder-level gold and silver, and yield were higher recovering other gold leaches using this as opposed to standardized Coconut carbons in an effort to frankly save money in gold recoveries of Industrial Gold Plating solutions. African and Polynesian varieties of Coconut carbon also report higher intrinsic gold content, as-is, because presumably because of the rich, volcanic and gold-bearing ashfalls and soil basis found around the plants so harvested to make this carbon. Keep in mind that apart from the geo-thermal replacement deposits of cracks with quartz/gold deposits are the source of 90% of the world’s gold origins. Today that
gold is being dissolved and going back into the great Oceans of the world. Copyright © 2008 Goldmineworld. All Rights Reserved. www.goldmineworld.net 16
Daring to go where others have not as yet, or perhaps long forgotten by ancient souls who walked first the Sinai Desert out of Egypt. And on some say to open the great gold mines of South Africa long ago. Our walk is into the great deserts of the world. As many of these lay prostrate between great mineral-bearing mountains, these are natural catch-basins for oft- great lakes, floods of all descriptions, rivers and the like, and as the ages have past, some of these lakes drained, dried out and became great salt basins, now containing the uptake, as chloride has a habit of doing. All of the metals that would dissolve under it’s influence, mixing into the salt itself until it often black with metals. Sometimes if the salt outflow into the desert passes through gold, silver or other metallic deposits from former volcanic up-wellings far away in the mountains, it too will of course dissolve some of it gradually every year as the rains, snow and other influences worry the earth down into it, passing it down the mountains, across the salt flats, then drying into a mineral rich salt we can exploit. Salt Lake in Utah is one such place in the USA outstanding for it’s rich diversity of metallic
lake content that it repeatedly precipitates out onto the entire lake-bed floor, some creek outflows richer than others, by virtue of yet whole metal dust and other particles. In this case, one should always give preference to the hard deposits laying as sediments on the lake floor. But perhaps your chunk of access is smack dab in the desert, or you wish to file a claim there. In this case, wanting the salt flats is a good thing, assuming you have checked our prospect first values we want, and you have just struck it rich. Many of the Desert Southwest salt flats are loaded with rich deposits of valuable metals, as yet undiscovered, because no way was practical to mine them out in t he past as a wholesale metal component from the sands before. Using our “T -6” leachant, all of this can be stripped in a manner of minutes from the fine sands-ores easily in a tank, with re-usable water as the carrier of the leach. This gives a heavy condensate you can take elsewhere for separations of the valuable portions and setting aside base metals for other foundries in bulk, later. This applies to salt as an ore as well. Salt needs to be dissolved in water, T-6 added with a little HCL acid to lower the PH and the T-6 goes to work, stripping the Gold Silver and other metals from the salts in a manner of minutes. This is dropped from your new pregnant leach by simply rising the PH with a little Sodium Hydroxide, the precipitants are filtered off, dried and sent to your lab for the precious metals portions to be stripped off and smelted to a refiner’s dore for the final refining steps and payment. ALL outflows from mountains above known to have gold in them should be checked for any values in the salt flats resulting from their proximity.

Above you will find a city map of Phoenix, Az showing the store locations of the Arizona Map Company, a MUST place to visit when you come to town there. You can walk through aisles of waterproof, plastic and quadrangle maps of every possible Gold-bearing area in the state, and lots of others as well. I like the formed plastic ones with all of the mountain bumps and valleys, showing mine sites, back roads and soil types, former mining activities, water availability and whatever mineral area you seek is listed there.

There is no gold mine without a map. All known gold mines have maps right to their door, often paved. Let’s take a well -known ex-
ample. The Wickenburg Mine in Arizona was the very beginning of Phoenix., as the ox-carts rattled up the trail, dragging their dreams behind them. Many lost their lives as the intoxicating metal’s gleam steered many down the wrong path, but others to build the towns that surrounded these hardy souls as they burrowed deep into the earth to gather the gold and silver for the rest of us. Today this area still bakes under the furnace-like sun as it still calls to the intrepid to figure out a newer, safer and maybe more profitable way. This was the area where Hudson discovered the abundance of the Ormus Materials that now has blossomed into a growth industry and begun a new crop of miners and the gentle prosperity that comes with it. This time with higher-tech equipment instead of the physical labors usually associated with miners. The maps are the key as you discover the places these values trace across the land, pass over the Great Gold Trends that run from Mexico to California through Nevada and Utah.

Here are two maps that have been sitting in the files of the old Mining Maps the State offices and BLM both store in order to help find and describe both the Ore Trends and the ownership somewhere along the line. The seven Western States all maintain some kind of tax rolls in order to collect from these owners as well as settle claim disputes and help plan big futures for Companies like Newmont, Barrick and other mining giants out West. Many have done simply attaching themselves in some fashion to existing companies. Often time you can perform a service in exchange as well as you help develop your corner of the land so they too know what swirls around them. The Silver Queen is a great Silver Mine in Northern Arizona, and is painted in the South by the Yellow-jacket near Nogales, showing the general trend gone Northward out of the Sierra Madres, in Mexico. The huge mine South of the border in Cananea, as it swallows three rivers and poisons the entire water supply Southward further into Hermosillo. This portion of the mountains is rich in Copper, running 4 to 14% copper ores, with lots of Gold and Silver in balance all the way to Flagstaff. The super-fine Gold here demands flotation for recovery or Leaching to extract the values...Moving lots of Dirt!

Here are the Insignias of two great organizations, LMDA and GPAA. These are a good place for you and indeed old-timers to join for both new mining opportunities on an accessible basis..they have Hot Showers!, bathrooms, cook areas and spaces to park your camper, mobile or weekend setup. They provide outings and events where everybody wins in gaining new experiences, meet new people and bring home the Gold. These are always attended by terrific mining stories as the campfires grow around the dark spaces in the mountains of the Old West..a good time is had by all. Be sure and catch their week-day and weekend show “Gold Fever” on the far end of the UHF dial, but there...Good videos about recent trips to hidden mines, new gear demonstrations and general news about the mining industry. These are a great way to learn about the area. We do not lean quite as much towards the Sluicing aspect of gold recovery, but this, plus metal detecting is also a way to get those pounds off while you snake out a nice nugget under that BZZZ - BZZZ on the ground under you. Some place are guaranteed buzz areas, is how I see the Wickenburg desert areas as well, cause I find lots of tiny gold out there..possibly enough to make a living if I had to ($100.00/ day) with just “shooting” nuggets with a good -grade detector. Once you have found them, it often points to a place on the ground to look harder for other mining possibilities. Here are a few of GPAA members out for a weekend of fun and serious gold mining. They share the spoils at the end of the day or weekend! Good Fun! Copyright © 2008 Goldmineworld. All Rights Reserved. www.goldmineworld.net 21

This shows the fabulously wealthy Silver mines areas in the mountains near Silver City, of course. The balance of New Mexico is composed of gold stringers and seams of silver to chase, which is what is recorded in the maps and annals of the State. A visit to the State records offices as well as the local BLM offices which are a fountain of information, as they maintain the year-to-year tax records telling you if that claim is active or not. These and other maps are available from a wide variety of stores across the Western States, on-line and walk-ins elsewhere to visit. State, County and City all have quadrangle maps, more specialized ones have actual GOLD mine maps.

Standing on the Great Divide one can peer down into California as you can rummage the beaver ponds at the top of the pass for some cold ice for that cooler in summer. From the sides of the Granite walls that cascade down the mountains there trickle the streamers of gold, Silver and other precious metals, first as flakes, then larger and larger as it falls to the American River Valley floor below, home to hundreds of weekend miners, but never seeming to really run out of that mystery metal entirely. You can still find decent gold along the valley floor, but much of it is likewise claimed alongside the river , as you might guess as well. Again, BLM or Forest Service are good sources for & old mining claim status. Here you can earn a remarkably good living from the “empties” in the claims as well,
many have found. These are the claims that have lapsed in the $125. yearly payments.
Yes, you can still claim a Gold Mine! In fact, many today make their entire living from the vacated chunks of land for mining. A lot of them wind up as trailer pads for weekenders from the “Big City” down in
Phoenix or some other crowded location, but many are respectable and worthwhile actual claims with Gold really on them, not just slabs of gravel bar...If you get into a good dry wash with nice fine gold it can easily be sold to others on E-bay, the preferred method these days and so prevalent it seems. This means you determine what parcels are open to claim at the BLM office, then verify their gold presence, then stake them for Claiming like anyone else. This then becomes your own property to explore and work for the metal content. It pays to visit the nearest BLM office to the area in question first, then stake your lot. This technically becomes “saleable” once you have done so.

New source of income for you. There are a lot of folks who do just that, as they stake claims that look likely enough to claim, you have provided a valuable service for somebody out there feeling the snow-drifts of winter creep around the door this year, and who will want just what you have to offer...a nice sunny patch to park their trailer and explore the gold fields where you posted. Often this means a place where the nugget-shooters can work too, as there is no real provision for them to park anywhere, and here is a place they can do mining and milling as well, if needed. No matter what, you can sell them easily in Phoenix or through the ICMJ with a simple classified ad. This can provide a regular income to keep you going all summer long and off the Valley Floor when it’s a 120 degrees, and upland in the cool pines during the blaze of Summer. Others are satisfied living back in Connecticut and doing the same thing, but getting out on the land here is the main event...Good exercise !
Fancy spending your summers up here each year, showing your gold claims to prospective new gold miners while you Fish, explore or perhaps even find a few more claim sites for the coming year, keeping your self-sustaining mining effort going easily. Just you, a camera, some good hiking boots and the vision to make this happen. This requires little or no investment to make happen, and a GOOD income, just for you !

One thing is for sure, make LOTS of extra copies of your actual claim form, place it in a waterproof jar and bury it right next to the Stake when you do mark it...sure as God made green apples, someone will challenge the validity sooner or later, and that saves a lot of time and harsh words..no? What is your claim worth? Well, it can be a buyer’s market, or sellers, depending on both time of the year
(weather) and other factors. Frankly, right now, I would venture you can sell almost anything, as people are scrambling for decent, accessible properties they have some promise of getting a return from. Myself..I make sure that each one that I sell has recoverable gold and silver, and generally a day’s wages in the mix, to boot, so a guy can eak out a living if need be, the
whole idea of recreational mining in my book. I recommend you do the same thing to keep your clients as friends, as well as be ethical in your business dealings. The desert variety, like out West near the California Border/Nevada is pretty harsh, and you want to make sure the same amenities are there as you would want as well, like SHADE and maybe nearby water, etc and a decent access road, etc. It pays to be careful when using these properties, keeping them free of garbage and debris while you have fun with the kids or grandkids, because treated right these can be a constant source of retirement pleasure as well as income for you...and you may find you like this new life-style enough to guard it with care and make sure others do too. You can probably think of lots of other things to do with your new-found mining lands, but low-profile in what might be mis-construed as a strictly, for-profit venture must be realized is in the minds of BLM too. So move gently, they are not stupid.

Cananea mine gave up this gold bar from it’s “Copper” mine there, the other side of the USA mine complex that runs through Arizona, as the Newmont Mine. With all that copper/gold. Lots of folks hear lots of stories about life in Mexico, and mining laws that simply don’t exist.
Any person can explore and claim in Mexico under certain provisions they can meet, or have a Mexican partner, such as the “Ejidos” (collective farming areas), who are poorly paid and always seeking a good deal. There are scads of old mines and claims there, as well as good prospects for those companies prepared with patience to assist in going operations with likewise under-funded Mexican miners. Having lived there ten years, I will recount some of my own experiences there, both in living and in mining adventures throughout the Sierra Madre Mountains. I will admit it took me a bit of time to explore and learn Mexican Mining Law, but it was worth it to learn the ins and outs of the system and how to get things done. The first lesson is that it is their country, and a measure of politeness is given in all transactions, meetings and social occasions...that they do business with a liberal helping of food, liquor and laughter. You don’t need to speak Spanish, nor act like you are someone special, simply treat the locals with respect and the kids with toys, and all will be well. The process begins by locating your strike area or checking out existing mines for values, as lots of phantom mines exist there too, according to multiple legends that abound. There, there is no crowding nor labor costs to break you in labor, but new equipment you bring in pays a hefty duty fee, so bring pictures and get it made there! Above is an area of Mexico called Sonora, famed for the gold, Silver and Copper mines that straddle the border through the lower Rockies, the Sierra Madre mountains, rolling Eastward to become the Sierra Madera range, and onward to the coast. This area is actively worked by huge equipment as in the “Uvias de Oro” (golden rain) mine, a mine which incorporates over 30 square miles, and underlies a whole town. Near the top see my gold star, where I was mining Gold, Copper and Silver with great enthusiasm and unknown to my workers, earning fabulous sums, some 100 lb. blocks of nearly pure Silver Ore I removed from the old river bed..All together I took out about a half ton of these, and had them processed in San Diego area, passing them over the border as “Landscape Rocks”, which they were indeed...Much of my ore went North as Landscape materials as it was a lot simpler paperwork, and there is only an issue of any dirt, so they had to be “car washed” before I could cross...weird, huh? Anyway, about $150,000. later out of the silver I opened up the Copper vein in the canyon wall that ran 14% Copper over 2 miles and 12 ft. wide. Along side this ran a another band of Silver that ran 2,200 ounces per ton, about 4 ft wide, and crumbly in texture. In the Silver band was extracted over 6 ounces of Gold as well (see Mex-Mines)

Some of the Silver and Copper ore that I saved as specimens, out of the mass tons I dug till I sold the place. Even after sharing my portion with the local Ejido, I still received a considerable sum of cash for my part, and I wanted some States-side time anyway for a while. Other epic journeys were had down lower into Mexico, going to Guadalajara, and onwards to Chihuahua. I went to visit the Tarahumara Indians during Semana Santa that year and went Native a bit myself. We took a small jeep down to Batopilas, a tiny village located in the bottom of the Copper Canyon, after an incredible train ride on the tourist express to Chihuahua, and got off at mid-point. Where it takes off, I rented a place to crash at the local hotel, then set out to explore the depths of the canyon Below is the trip... you see the radical ride!
Top-Left, this is a ride down the canyon (No Rails) to the river bottom...Batopilas..

Above is the 200-year-old old tunnel to the silver mine (now inoperable) that removed thousands of ounces of Silver, all tha time till they literally dug through the entire mountain in pursuit of the veins. Today Batopilas is more famed for it’s laid-back atmosphere and tourism than mining. Below is the open-pit Copper mine of Cananaea, also harvesting Silver and a good measure of Gold, easily seen as cubes in the rock formations as dug, and leached and floated out of the ground ores. The effluent makes a toxic soup all the way to Hermosillo tha is slowly poisoning the people there today. The ponds below belong to the local Indigenous Indian folks, who recover lost copper by iron scrap additions and sell the copper sulphate today direct to China and other markets for near new Copper prices.

All of this is to let you know there will be other values you can profit by as well, such as varied gemstones like Malachite, Turquoise, Crystal, Geodes, Antimony, Salts of various types, Garnets, Iron and other base metals in different places, but mostly in lines following the Mountain ranges that are similar, repeating bands on each set of mountain folds, one after another, Eastward. A great deal of the Sierras is claimed and much being worked at times commensurate with the market prices. This means all of the Copper deposits I have worked there have passable Turquoise and Malachite worth gem quality in the mix. Some of the Silver is of specimen grade as well for the collectors out there. Baja has a great deal of gold mining activity, but far and away the Silver continues to dominate the mining in Mexico. To live, work and function in Mexico was always a reasonable experience, discounting petty thievery, and I found that shipping back the “Cons” in sand or least valuable, sanitary rock was a good plan for returning the high-grade to the USA. This prevented any thievery at t his, most important end, and I never had any problem shipping over the border. That may have changed somewhat since 911 now though… Living is around $200. a month for a decent place to stay, although I bought and built my o wn place for around $10,000. complete, with a 100 foot square lot, t rees, walls and fencing to keep my stuff mine. Neighborhoods were a little below our standards of course, but I find them to be very helpful, friendly and very family-oriented. Labor was around $5-10. per day, depending on skill levels, and at mining, I paid by volume and weight for that to get the max out of my workers, and meals are a part of the costs, as is transport, tools and at times housing, except in the bush, where I camped in my Camper, and they tented it. Get all documents signed in front of a Notary..better than an attorney in Mexico...and if you need special permits and papers, always go right to the top in any town..the Mayor, the Judge, or ever who runs the place. All meals and activities stem from the Plaza, dead center in every town, and the food is fabulous for the adventurous, the open, early markets are a real treat with miles of goodies to drool over, send home and invest in. I got all my copper cookware from one town, where they, like many other towns, specialized in this one thing...like Taxco for Silver Jewelry. In others I bought terrific leather-laced chairs and dining table, as well as other goods hard to get here, like complicated wrought iron work. Mining can be a full-time, live-there situation or a summer pastime, but always a good chance to still strike it rich if you look carefully and talk to the larger mine owners about possible prospects in your price or interest range.
Here is a cut in the road I made to expose the Copper vein knew was there , next to the Silver one I had been working . Next vein, the Gold!

“OK, you found that old mine, and it shows decent color”, you tell yourself. Tests with the Gold Kit look good, and now for the next step. Below is a picture of what someday might be to keep up with you, but for now, where you need to professionally test this good claim a bit more. After all is done, you find that you can snake a hose down the flooded mine to process the .50 cents a gallon in Gold and Silver, right in the water, till you can explore the hardrock a bit closer. It’s off to the Lab !
I expect if I went out to Colorado or Arizona this Spring, I can sell every gold claim I have, without a struggle or difficulty. We have the virtue of a good lab behind us, friends to us help drive into these sometimes remote spots, and help withal the paperwork, arrange for site maintenance if out of town if new owner is away and other services. Our goal is to acquire other Patented Properties as well to create a more fun operation, common camp-ground and summertime school for field miners, mining for the new age, alternative power workshops and other useful workshops for people interested in the outdoors as well as the gold , as we are ready to learn new techniques. Be sure and close your sales completely, accepting full payment, or in a very short time. These will sell very quickly and you’ll wish you had more after they are gone.
Remember to leave yourself a middle lot in each development area you are working in, as it may have other uses in the future. Copyright © 2008 Goldmineworld. All Rights Reserved. www.goldmineworld.net 41
Here is where the rubber meets the road, so to speak, as you get your lab results back. What kind of Lab analysis to perform? You will get a wide variety of answers from as many people as you try determine the worth of an ore. Each of these has a virtue, and a failing as you can guess. This means it focuses on one aspect of the reactions to the process above others. Some are very sophisticated, some are quite simple. By necessity, a Fire Assay is perhaps the most simple, and quick. In a Fire Assay, we combine Litharge (Lead Oxide) with the ore sample, flux, and ample heat from an Acetylene Torch or Oven that gets hot enough to combine them all into a metallic bead in order to evaluate it. The Heavy metals such as Gold and Platinum, being more heavy, will sink to the bottom of the cupel cup as the metal bead melts, and hopefully a Gold one. The size, measured, determines the number of ounces per ton of Gold, etc. We produce a simple book outlining all of the steps performed in this process , which take a bit of time to master as a professional, but well enough the first time to tell you whether you are on the right track or not, and which a repeat will clarify the matter easily. Fire Assay is most people’s favorite, as it seldom fails to deliver a reasonable
assay for the first go round. The same assay, performed in an oven will deliver the same results. The Gold WILL NOT evaporate or disappear, as some might tell you, but instead become small beadl-ets, running through the powdered ore sample, picking up all bits of melt able metals, then run downwards as a collected, larger bed. Most Gold-predominate beads will have a defined layer of the Yellow metal at the bottom, with the next heavier metal on top, much like a layer cake. This can mean several layers of well-defined metals you can identify after a few samples have been performed. Experience here is paramount, as there is no substitute in seeing HOW the metals co join and run as they melt. Various patterns on the sides, bottoms and tops will indicate the contents internally at times as well..which can fill a small book as well with the varied reactions that can appear. As a rule I will follow up tests for other metals like the Platinum family if it appears they are present. The next page lists some of the reactions to watch for.
Copyright © 2008 Goldmineworld. All Rights Reserved. www.goldmineworld.net 42
On examination of the beads there might appear a layered system of metals as we mentioned. A layer of what looks like “Irish Linen” is the reaction, or rather the crys-
tallization of the metal, Platinum, as it settles out just below the Gold, being slightly heavier. Likewise, another heavy player, Palladium will create bead-lets all around the outer edge of the bead, like grapefruits, as it too crystallizes apart from the rest. A rain-bowed effect on top is first a light metal, and as a rule, the higher the placement on the bead, the less it’s value, and most likely an Arsenic, Bismuth or lighter
Aluminum complex. A muddied dark black through-out is most always the mess of Iron in some form, especially if it clings to the cup all-round, and makes a difficult proposition of getting a bead to appear. Iron is so difficult, it must be dispensed with Before-hand to determine if there is anything else in there. In dealing with the Powdered Precipitates, realize they are Hydroxides, not pure metal, so you will have to get the particles to coagulate by adding a “Collector” metal first.
To do this, add at least 51% of Sterling Silver...a good choice as the Silver collects not only the gold and silver, but the combination of Silver and trace Copper will insure that the Palladium, Platinum and Rhodium are collected as well. These will co-join together with the Silver, with the same general layering as before, and give you a more knowledgeable assay now, with the possibility of the pricier metals being present as well. It is worth doing as it takes just a small amount of each of these rare metals like Rhodium to show you they are there, and at $3,300. an ounce, they are worth chasing, no? You want your bead to stand apart, well up in the center of the cupel cup, quivering in the center as it melts, and will leave little around it, but be a bead apart, described above. If the metal pops or spits at low temperature, it’s probably Zinc. Lead will mix with
everything so is not a separate indicator. Lead is a good collector metal if you intend to heat the bead in the cup to adsorb the lead portion, then leaving the precious metals behind, as it is typically done in the assay ovens. This is still a fine method of determining the general worth of each sample. X-Ray, Spectrograph, or other methods in vogue, or passing through. All only offer one aspect of a whole, unseen picture best seen and done by you.
