The manual is intended to provide broad guidelines to the Ph. D. Student in the preparation of the thesis. In general, the thesis shall report, in an organized fashion, an account of original research work of the research student leading to the discovery of new facts or techniues or correlation of facts already known !analytical, e"perimental, etc# and demonstrating a uality as to make a definite contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the research student$s ability to undertake sustained research.

The dimensions of the final bound 7 copies report should be 9; mm " ;3 mm. Standard /0 size !97 mm " ); mm# paper may be used for preparing the copies. 4ont throughout the thesis must be =erdana times new roman with size ); ) e"cept headings !with numbering# which must be size )) )0 and bold.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION%
The student shall submit a rough copy of the manuscript to the guide for approval before preparing final print. The headings of all items to ) listed in section 0 should be typed in capital letter without punctuation and centered .3 cm below the top of the page. The te"t should commence 0 spaces below this heading. The page numbering for all items to ) should be done using lower case, (oman numerals and the pages thereafter should be numbered using /rabic numerals.

historical development related to the research work. It should make the reader understand the scientific and traditional aspects of the proposed work. Indicate the list of traditional drugs ' plants ' pharmaceuticals' dosage forms etc., if any, related to the proposed research. Discuss the properties of plants ' pharmaceuticals ' e"cipients ' drugs ' chemical compounds ' physical principles ' biopharmaceutical aspects ' pharmacokinetic principles ' any other scientific data and popular traditional belief or fiction related to the proposed research work. Introduce the novelty of idea ' approach towards the research work, if any. The literature survey should be arranged in reverse chronological order. This section includes additional information for final typing of the thesis% The impression on the typed' duplicated' printed copies should be black in color. *ertain symbols characters or markings not found on a standard typewriter may be hand written using Indian ink or a Stylus pen !in case stencil sheets are used#. *orrections, interlineations and crossing out of letters or words are not permissible in any of the copies of the thesis intended for submission.
