Introd u ction Congratulations on your purchase of ComAp controller. The purpose of this document is to help you to answer some basic questions that typically occur during the first contact with IGS-NT controller: • • • • •

First Steps Install the IG/IS-NT Installation package in your PC from CD or ComAp website

To access software and manuals on ComAp website, please, register in ComAp club

Power up the controller with 8 - 36 V DC

Connect from your PC to the controller

The latest software version is available on ComAp website we recommend to download it if it doesn't match with the version in the controller

Download the latest software version to the controller

Manuals are available on installation CD or on ComAp website

Using IGS-NT-Application Guide select appropriate application (controller default configuration/archive file) for your purposes

Use GenConfig to download this archive file to the controller

To proceed refer to Reference Guide for appropriate application

Use InteliMonitor to adjust controller setpoints

In InteliMonitor define users and levels protected by their passwords

Check other cards in GenConfig to configure password protection levels, sensor characteristics, language options etc.

After the controller is installed into the switchboard follow safety instructions mentioned in Reference Guide in "General guidelines" chapter!


In GenConfig configure the inputs' and outputs' functions

If you need to synchronize your gen-set to the Mains or to other gen-sets give heed to chapters "Sync/Load control adjustment" and "Volt/PF control adjustment" in Reference Guide.

Open http://www.comap.cz/ in your browser. Fill in the fields USER NAME and PASSWORD. Click ENTER .

How to Log out from the ComAp Club? To log out from the ComAp Club: On http://www.comap.cz/ website in the ComAp Club, click Log out .

How to Get a Forg otten Passw ord to th e ComAp Club? To get your forgotten password to the ComAp club: 1.

The ComAp members club – Login page appears. Click at the appropriate link. Type your Regis tered e-mail and click Send me new password . Your forgotten password will be sent to your registered email immediately.

What Types of Manuals You Can See on t he ComAp Website? All the manuals are intended for everybody who is concerned with the installation, operation and maintenance of a gen-set. Data Sheets describe basic technical specification and purpose of various types of controllers. Getting Started Guide will help you to answer some basic questions that typically occure during the first contact with IGS-NT controller. Applic ation Guides will give you the general overview of controllers and various types of their wiring. Communication Guides describe communication interface among controller(s) and superior system. From this manual you can get information on all available types of communication. Installation Guides describe the physical installation of a controller including all auxiliary and expansion modules with typical wiring and individual product setup information. It includes all relevant dimensions, specifications and technical data. Appl ic ations Referenc e Guides describe in detail the firmware of a certain type of a controller. Troubleshooting Guides describe typical troubles during configuration, adjustment and operation of the controller and how to solve them. To download Troubleshooting Guides from the ComAp Website: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Operator Guides provide general information on how to operate a certain type of a controller.

How to Downlo ad Manuals from the ComAp Websit e? You can download manuals from the ComAp Website either according to the specific line of controllers or from the full list of documents. To download manuals according to the specific line of controllers: 1. 2.

Open http://www.comap.cz/ in your browser. Click Products & Services – Gen-set cont rollers by line – InteliGen NT – InteliGen NT® – Support – Manuals. The list of all related documents appears. Click the file you want to download. To download a locked file (it has got the key icon on the left), log in to the ComAp club and click the file again. Save the file.

Open http://www.comap.cz/ in your browser. Click Support – Download center – Manuals . The full list of all documents appears. Click the file you want to download. Log in if necessary and click the file you want to download again. Save the file.

Why and How to Use “ Search in Multiple PDFs“ in A dobe Reader? It often happens that you are looking for some term or function but you do not know in which manual the information is. The Search window enables you to look for search terms in multiple PDFs. For example, you can search across all open PDF documents, all PDFs in a specific location or an open PDF package. To find a text in multiple PDFs: 1. 2.

Open Reader on your desktop (not in a web browser). Do one of the following: In the Find toolbar, type the text you want to search for and then choose Open Full Acrobat Search from the pop-up menu on the right. or In the Search window, type the text you want to search for in the text box. In the Search window, select Al l PDF Doc uments In. From the pop-up menu directly below this option, choose Browse For Location (typically the folder with ComAp products). Select the location you want to search, either on your computer or on a network and click OK . If you want to specify additional search criteria, click Use Advanced Search Options below and select the options you want. Click Search. Note: During a search, you can click a result or use keyboard shortcuts to navigate the results without interrupting the search. Clicking the Stop button under the search-progress bar cancels further searching and limits the results to the occurrences already found. It does not close the Search window or delete the Results list. To see more results, you must run a new search.

Installation Package How to Downlo ad the Installation Package from t he ComAp Website? To download the installation package from the ComAp Website: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Open http://www.comap.cz/ in your browser. Click Support – Download center – Software. Choose the installation package of the related product. Click the file. Log in if necessary and click the file again. Save the file.

How to Work with the Installation Package CD? You can install the software to your PC either from the Installation Package CD you obtained from your distributor or after downloading the Installation Package from www.comap.cz website. To install the software from the Installation Package CD: 1. Insert the Installation Package CD to your CD drive. The window appears:

2. If the window does not appear, open your Internet Explorer (or Total Commander ) and run D:\Autorun.exe. 3. Click the firmware version IGS-NT 1.1 Apr il 06 r2 on the right. See picture above. 4. Do one of the following: Click Open to open the file from the installation CD and if necessary, confirm you want to run the file or click Save and save the IGS-NT-1.1-April06r2.exe file to your PC. 5. Double click the IGS-NT-1.1-April06r2.exe. InstallShield Wizard appears:

7. Choose Complete (recommended) and click Next . The window appears:

9. Tick Create shortcut(s) on the desktop to create the icon on your desktop. 10. Click Next . 11. Click Finish. The installation is complete.

To see extension modules, download software for configuration and monitoring, manuals, click InteliGen NT or InteliSys NT :

How to Downlo ad the Upgr ade of th e Installation Package from the ComAp Website? To download the upgrade of the installation package from the ComAp Website: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Open http://www.comap.cz/ in your browser. Click Support – Download center – Software. Choose the upgrade package of IG/IS-NT. Click the file. Log in if necessary and click the file again.

Controller and PC Tools How to Check th e Firmw are Versi on in the Contr oller? To check the firmware version in the controller: 1. 2.

Power up the controller. Hold down Enter and press Escape on the controller.

In the middle of the display you can see the controller INFO screen for 10 seconds. 3.

Press the button

to see the next info about the firmware.

How to Conn ect to the Contr oller? To connect to the controller: 1. 2.

Ensure you have a DC Power Suppl y to the IGS-NT controller (this supply can be 8 - 36 VDC). Connect the controller with your PC via RS232 communication cable either directly or if you do not have the D-SUB9 serial port on your PC, use the USB-RS232 converter and connect it to the USB port on your PC. Turn on the controller. Turn on your PC. Double click the InteliMonitor icon on your desktop. InteliMonitor application appears. Click Connection – Open c onnection or click the first icon under the main menu (other ways how to connect to a controller you can find in the InteliMonitor Reference Guide on the ComAp website).

The Open connection window appears:

Tick Quick-connect to genset (default option). On the Direct tab, choose the communication port, type the password (0 is default) and click Open c onnection. Note: COM1 is the default setting. You may need to select a different COM port of your computer. Controller Address 1 is the default setting. This will mostly need changing in a multi set application. The connection to your controller is being established and the DDE server communication tool is automatically launched. At the bottom of the window a yellow bar appears denoting the connection is preparing and upon a full connection the bar turns green. See picture below:

What Is InteliMonitor ? InteliMonitor is intended for on-line monitoring of ComAp controller values. It enables to: • • • • • • • • •

Open direct, modem or internet connection to the controller Open an archive off-line Monitor site with multiple controllers View controller values Operate the controller via user friendly GUI View alarm list and history records Change setpoints Save archive files Open GenConfig PC tool

The detailed information on how to work with InteliMonitor you can find in the InteliMonitor Reference Guide. To download the InteliMonitor Reference Guide and/or its new features: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Open http://www.comap.cz/ in your browser. Click Products – PC Tools – Monitoring SW – InteliMonitor - Support . The list of documents related to InteliMonitor appears. Click the file you want to download. Log in if necessary and click the file you want to download again. Save the file.

What Is GenConf ig? GenConfig is intended for off-line configuration of ComAp controllers. It is focused on comfortable operation while offering inexhaustible number of configuration features and options. It is designed for anybody who needs to configure the controller. Any configuration modifications have to be subsequently downloaded to the controller or saved to an archive file. Online changes and monitoring has to be done from InteliMonitor. Pay attention to GenConfig Overwrite setpoints option. GenConfig enables to: select which functions and protections will be connected to binary/analog inputs and outputs of the controller select which extension modules will be connected to the controller configure the internal PLC blocks providing free usable functions assign protection levels to setpoints and commands •

To open GenConfig: In Inteli Monitor click Tools – GenConfig .

Open http://www.comap.cz/ in your browser. Click Products – PC Tools – Configuration SW – GenConfi g – Support – Manuals . The list of documents related to GenConfig appears. Click the file you want to download. Log in if necessary and click the file you want to download again. Save the file.

How to Downlo ad a New Firmw are Version to th e Contr oller? To download a new firmware version to t he controller: 1. 2. 3.

Download the new firmware version from www.comap.cz. Open GenConfig . Click Options – Import fir mware… The message appears:

Make sure no archive is open and click Yes. The new window appears.

Open the location with the firmware, see the picture above. Choose the version of the firmware and click Open. The Import firmware appears:

Click Import . If it is a case, to confirm the message Overwrite fi le, click Yes to All . Click File – Firmware upgrade and Cloning – FW upgrade (default configuration) .

10. Choose the version of the firmware you want to download to the controller and click OK .

The message appears:

How to Save the Archiv e from the Control ler? The archive is a file containing all controller data (configuration, setpoints setting and history records). From the archive you can get additional information for problem debugging. Before saving the archive we strongly recommend to adjust history setting of the controller to ensure that complete history is saved to the archive. To adjust history setting of the controller: 1. 2. 3.

Open InteliMonitor . Choose Settings – History . Tick Service tool .

Click OK .

To save the archive from the controller: 1. 2. 3.

In InteliMonitor click Connection – Save as… The Save controller Quick opened Genset as… window appears. Type a file name (keep the default path for saving the file). Click Save. Note: The extension of archives is ANT, AID, AIS, AIL, AIG according to the type of your controller. The default directory for saving the archives is C:\Program Files\ComAp\IGSNT\Archives\.

The archive is also created automatically when you close InteliMonitor: 1. 2.

Click Connection – Exit . When message “Do you w ant to save archive…“ appears, click Yes. The archive is now created and saved in the default directory.
