(c) Panchayat Secretary (PS): Roles and responsibilities of Panchayat Secretary include: 1. Facilitate Ward Sabhas and Gram Sabhas in identification of the works. 2. Facilitate Gram Sabha to give priority number to each work 3. Obtain estimates for f or the works works included included in the DRP Plan Plan 4. Submission of DRP Plan to MPDO 5. Report labour demand to the MPDO and obtain work commencement letter. 6. Redress grievances. At the Village level, the Panchayat Secretary is assisted ass isted by Field Assistant Ass istant for implementing implementing and executing the Drought Relief Programme. c) Panchayat Secretary 1.
The Panchayat Secretary receives applications for issuance of Job Cards from wage labour who have reported to work.
2. Issues Job Cards to the labour who has reported for work. 3.
Display list of works taken up and also the no of persons provided wage employment, the total wages paid to the workers, material consumed, on the GP notice board.
4.
Ensure timely payments to the wage seekers/groups by promptly submitting the muster rolls once in a week to the MPDO.
5.
Maintain musters, all records and registers for accounting and Drought Relief Programme (DRP) audit purposes.
6. Keep a copy of the wage pay orders available for public scrutiny at the Panchayat Office. 7. Prepare an annual report on the implementation of the Programme. 8. Take up responsibility for maintaining the assets created.
