General guidelines for writing Internship Report Ø The report should be based on a specific aspect of your work or place of internship. In this regard, a generalized study report will not be acceptable. Ø The report is expected to be analytical rather than descriptive. It should contain accurate, factual information together with sound arguments and conclusion. Ø The length of your internship should not exceed 10,000 words (40 pages) with 1.5 line space, including appendices. The report should be self-contained, consistent, and to the point. o Use standard formal level of English (no slang). o Use a good quality white bond paper. o Use only one side of the page for all text and figures. o Start major sections of the report on new pages. o Bind the Internship Report in a suitable protective cover. o Leave margins of 1'' on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. Ø Analysis of activities done / problems solved contains the main part of the report. All relevant information must be organized in logical and orderly manner. Present the evidence with pertinent chart, graphs, data, pictures etc. Ø In the conclusion state briefly the major inferences drawn form the analysis of activities done / problem solved. Note that conclusion must be based on information presented in the analysis section and never forget to highlight the lesson that you learnt during the internship. Overview of the Report - writing process Ø Discuss topic and ideas for Report with the teacher assigned by the college / campus. Ø Write your report according to guidelines provided by office of the Dean, Faculty of Management. Ø Provide your Report to your teacher for review at least a week before your Internship ends. Finally Ø Internship is not a privilege but a responsibility. Ø This is a great opportunity to show your talent to the outside world.
