M2000 The main tasks that can be performed on M2000 are: To fetch the Dump To activate Measurement counters Modify the parameters To define Custom KPI’s. To define KPI report template To fetch KPI reports To fetch Alarms(both History and Active) Note: In M2000, KPI reports can be fetched only either by Cell level or by RNC level. Hence PRS tool is preferred to fetch the KPI report which is more user friendly and also similar to the NGR of NSN.

M2000: To fetch the Dump 1. 2. 3. 4.
Open the MML command window Select the NE type Select the RNC of which the dump is required Type the command “Exp CFGMML” and execute it.(Path and filename is not mandatory) 5. Open the WebLMT of the respective RNC to download the configuration file. a) To open the WebLMT, Go into the Main topology, Right click on the RNC and select the Maintenance Client. b) In the main window of Weblmt, Click on the File manager and browse the file path to download it. Note: The file downloaded will be in .txt format. Respective snaps are attached in the next slides.

M2000: To activate Measurement counters
Confidential 9 © Nokia Siemens Networks
M2000: To activate Measurement counters 1. Go into the performance and click on Measurement management. 2. Select the appropriate Function Subset and NE. 3. In Measurement status, we can check the active counters 4. In Measurement settings, Select the appropriate Function set and Function subset, find the counter and activate it (√) for either 15min or 60 min or 24 hrs 5. Click Apply to activate the Counters

M2000: To Modify the Parameters
Confidential 13 © Nokia Siemens Networks
M2000: To Modify the Parameters It is mandatory to know the commands to change the parameters. Different parameters belongs to different classes and each class has its own syntax. For example: If need to modify the CPICH power. 1) Lst UPCPICH– to check the existing CPICH power 2) Mod UCELL– to modify the CPICH Tx power(note: the modified power should be in the max and min limit of CPICH power. To modify the max and min limit use the command Mod UPCPICH.

M2000: To define Custom KPI’s
Confidential 16 © Nokia Siemens Networks
M2000: To define Custom KPI’s 1. Customized KPI’s can be created using M2000. Click on Performance and select Custom Counter management. 2. In the Function subset, select the BSC or RNC. 3. To create a new report, click on the tab Add. 4. Give some name for custom counter, Units, Select the Function set and Function subset. (note: Pay attention to select Function set and Function subset, we can only find the counter in related Function set and Function subset) 5. From the Function set, select the counters, use the arithmetic operations available to add, subtract, multiply.. In between the counters. 6. Click Apply and then ok Note: Since we are not using M2000 in VHA-AUS project for performance management this may not require. “GP” of mathematical operator in the window is measurement period, its unit is minute; For RNC KPI, we can only select counters of RNC wise; for cell KPI, we can only select counter of cell wise, M2000 can’t support gather function.

M2000: To define KPI report template
Confidential 19 © Nokia Siemens Networks
M2000: To define KPI report template 1. Go into the performance select the query result 2. Select New query 3. Select same “Function Subset” in directory tree of new window as that of defined KPI formula. We can only select unique “Function Subset” in one report, so define all counters of a report in the same Function Subset. Then select measurement object in the window of “Object Settings. 4. In the object settings, Select the Objects (RNC, BSC or Cell) 5. In the Counters settings, select the counters that need to be fetched.(the counters can be system counters or the customized one) 6. In time conditions, select the time for which the KPI need to be fetched. 7. Click on Save template and save it with appropriate name.

M2000: To fetch KPI reports 1. Go into the performance select the query result 2. Select the customized KPI template, right click, select the Query results and then click on any of the time lines specified. (note: if the report is required for some other measurement period select Specific) 3. Once the report is generated click on save tab and save it to local PC.
Note: For VHA AUS there is some restriction in M2000 for fetching KPIs. PRS is preferred for performance management.
