PROCEDURE A. ROUGHING-INS FOR FIRE FIRE PROTECTION PIPING

12.After the test, drain water and after that, make sure that all openings are plugged. 11.#or system drain test, allow water to flow into the pipes until it discharge clear water that is acceptable to the inspectors. 1!.The initial test shall be witnessed by Trade Contractor 3C )ngineer, Contactors 3C 4nspectors + 5wners 6epresentative. 1".Test result must be signed by all parties concerned and kept for future reference. 1%.#inal acceptance to e by Consulting )ngineer, Contractors 6epresentative and 5wners 6epresentative.
. TESTING AND COMMISSIONING OF FIRE PUMP AND /OCKE PUMP B.1. FIRE PUMP 1. Close 7 shut off isolation valve at the main riser of the delivery pipeline going to the sprinkler system riser.
!. Conduct megger test before pump operates. 0ote that allowable wire cross section subect to megger test shall only be 1%mm ! and larger. ". Start pump and check if the measured capacities are in the accordance with the rated value. %. Check electric motor if they are within their rated capacities with load and no load condition. &. Conduct pump test run to check if the pumping system operates in accordance with the operating scheme as follows8
/o1!3 P-%+ 9 shall automatically start on a pressure drop in the system. 4t is optional for the ockey pump to remain in operation for a minimum amount of time. F"r! P-%+ 9 shall automatically start on a further pressure drop or on the ockey pump failure.

JOCKEY PUMP
1. 0ote the pressure indication on the gauge attached to the system side of the piping system. Also note the pressure indication on the gauge attached to the supply side of the piping system pump gauge. !. 5pen the return test valve and let the water flow out. This should reduce the pressure drop by observing the pressure gauge. ". :hen the pressure drops to the set cutin pressure, the ;ockey pump should start. Check whether the pump starts when it reaches its cutin pressure. %. Close the return test valve to shutoff the flow of water. Allow the ;ockey pump to increase pressure within the system side of the piping. :hen the cutoff pressure is reached, the ;ockey pump should stop. Also note the pressure when the ;ockey pump actually stops.
&. 4f there is any deviation fro the standard cutoff pressure, adust the pressure setting at the ;ockey pump controller.
C. ELECTRIC MOTOR DRIVEN PUMP 1. 0ote that the pressure indication on the gauge attached to the system side of the piping system. Also note the pressure indication on the gauge attached to the supply side of the piping system pump gauge. !. 5pen the return test valve and let the water flow out, this should reduce the pressure drop by observing the pressure gauge. ". :hen the pressure drops to set cutin pressure, the ockey pump should start. %. Allow the ;ockey pump to continue to operate.

F. SPRINKLER HEADS
The sprinkler head is a special device that acts as spray no$$le in the event of a fire in the building. )ach sprinkler head acts independently. 4t is activated when the head itself is heated to the design temperature and breaks. The breaking temperature is stamped on the sprinkler head fusible link with a small framed glass valve. :hen the glass valve breaks, the sprinkler head open and discharge water. =#ire protection piping must be retested when droppings are installed and shall have a maimum pressure of 1*& psi at ! hours without pressure drop.
