HP ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMME Cartridge designed with recycling in mind Recycling HP LaserJet print cartridges Returned original HP LaserJet print cartridges are disassembled at a recycling plant in China, where more than 95 per cent of the material can subsequently be recovered and reclaimed. First, the print cartridge components are sorted and separated into plastics, metals and residual toner powder. The plastics can then be melted; aluminum and other metal components such as screws and metal springs are processed or reused after a thorough quality check. Residual toners are used to recover pigments and energy. Plastics and metals serve as the basis for producing a wide variety of new products, for example wire spools, buttons, property markers and other useful articles. Recycling HP inkjet print cartridges Returned original HP inkjet print cartridges are shipped to a state-of-the-art recycling facility, f acility, where they are sorted and shredded to remove the ink. The shredded materials are then separated into their component materials such as plastics, foam and metals. Plastics and metals are further purified to make new
products such as plastic parts for cars, and also used to manufacture other HP products, or formed back into raw material stock including steel, copper and precious metals. Depending on the model, HP recycles up to 70 per cent of the print cartridge by weight. The remaining materials materials (ink, foam and composite parts) are disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. HP’s Planet Partners Return and Recycling Programme for its LaserJet and inkjet print cartridges is already available in over 30 countries worldwide today. HP is committed to further expanding the programme. To meet the demands demands of business customers customers with a high turnover of HP LaserJet and/or inkjet print cartridges, the programme includes free delivery of special HP recycling Individual ink cartridges vs. integrated ink cartridges – which is better? How do you respond when customers have such questions? Here’s some information to help you better advise your customers. Consider print volume and printing needs HP printers are based on either one of two different ink cartridge technologies – individual and integrated (also known as tri-colour or tri-chamber ink cartridges) – to meet customers’
different print volumes and printing needs.
It doesn’t mean that printers using HP individual ink cartridges are inherently a better choice than those using HP integrated cartridges – it all depends on customers’ usage levels and type of benefits they value. What’s common is that all HP printing systems offer print quality, reliability and efficient ink usage. When to recommend individual cartridge systems HP individual ink cartridge systems offer the best technology for users with high print volumes (150-400 pages a month) and who tend to use some ink colours more than others. Users enjoy breakthrough print speeds, larger ink capacities for individual colours compared c ompared to HP integrated cartridges, plus flexibility to replace only the colour that runs out. For customers who print a lot, value speed and need flexible cartridge replacement, this is the ideal recommendation. When to recommend integrated cartridge systems HP integrated cartridge systems are ideal for users with low to moderate print volumes (50-150 pages a month) and who are looking for convenient cartridge replacement, ease of use and the flexibility to swap cartridges on a single printer to fit specific needs at different
times. For customers who print a significant mixture of photos, graphics and text documents,
but not in huge quantities, and who value convenience and ease of use, this is the more cost-effective recommendation. 16 A choice for every need Printing cost is more than just the cartridge price 17 A choice for every need At a glance: HP individual ink cartridges HP integrated cartridges Best for… High-volume printing Low- to moderate-volume versatile printing Why? Fast speeds to meet demand of highvolume Flexible cartridge swapping for best output depending on printing type of printing • Choice of cartridges for f or occasional-moderate or moderate-frequent use, enabling a single printer to fit varying usage levels • Choice of black, tri-colour and photo cartridges, enabling a single printer to meet varying photo-quality expectations Flexible cartridge replacement Convenient cartridge replacement and • Flexibility to replace only cartridge that ease of use runs out (although at least six cartridges • Fewer cartridges to replace (customers can start printing are required to start printing) with just one cartridge) • Less frequent cartridge replacement • Each time a new cartridge with integrated printhead
because of higher individual colour capacity is installed, the whole system is refreshed tuned for high-volume printing How often do you come across customers who complain that while HP inkjet printers have become very affordable, HP inks cost too much? If you put all related printing costs (including hidden ones) in context for the customer though, it’s easy to see the value of original HP inks and why they are worth the price. Cost from reliability issues Supplies – not just the printer – play a key role in customers’ desired printing experience, and only original HP supplies can deliver the seamless experience that customers expect from their HP printers. Cheaper alternatives may have reliability issues that waste ink and paper due to reprints, plus incur other hidden costs due to break-downs, need to replace faulty cartridges, etc. Research by QualityLogic* found that on average, HP inkjet print cartridges were at least 9 times more reliable than leading remanufacturer brands tested. With dependable HP performance from the first print to the last, customers can save time and money with original HP print cartridges. Cost from inefficient ink usage If a printing system is inefficient, it uses more
ink to print a given number of pages, which has an impact on page yield and cost. HP printing systems are designed with efficient ink usage in mind, printing up to two times more pages using the same amount of ink as some other competing brands, according to research by SpencerLab**. Printing efficiency is not just dependent on the printer design – HP patented inks are optimised for efficient printing in HP printers with their highly pure and anti-crusting formulations, which prevent nozzles from clogging. This in turn means more ink can be saved for printing, instead of being used to flush clogged nozzles clean as with some other printing systems. Since ink design affects printing efficiency, remind customers that they could risk it by using refills. New printers with affordable cartridges Some of HP’s new printers come with individually replaceable ink cartridges priced as low as US$9.99, while others come with tri-colour cartridges priced as low as US$17.99. Such affordable pricing gives customers even more reason to use original HP inks, hence ensuring peace of mind. Printing cost is more than just the cartridge price * 2003 Inkjet Cartridge Reliability Comparison Study test results provided by QualityLogic, Inc., and commissioned by HP. Tests were
performed under laboratory conditions and actual performance may vary. See www.hp.com/apac/suppliesreliability www.hp.com/apac/suppl iesreliability for full details. ** Based on printers and usage profiles tested in independent testing, Inkjet Printing Efficiency: Yield and the Customer Customer Experience, SpencerLab Digital Color Laboratory, July 2005, commissioned by HP. See www.hp.com/apac/saveink for more details. True inkjet printing cost Cartridge price Inefficient ink usage Reliability issues HP offers acceptable inkjet printing cost because: • HP cartridge prices start as low as US$9.99 for an individual replaceable cartridge • HP cartridge prices start as low as US$17.99 for a tri-colour cartridge – start printing with just one cartridge • HP printers, cartridges and ink formulations are designed for efficiency so customers can save ink and money; using refills might jeopardise
the efficient design • Original HP ink cartridges are tested to be at least 9 times more reliable than remanufacturer brands*, avoiding reprints and replacement costs Visible cost Hidden cost =++ 18 HP inkjet cartridge technology HP Vivera Inks 19 HP Vivera Inks are specially engineered to work with HP printers and papers to deliver the best combination of exceptional image quality and fade resistance. HP Vivera Inks contain specially designed colourants and active agents that produce an optimal balance of rich colour and fade resistance. The ink formulations are put through hundreds of tests to ensure reliability and performance during printing, superb image quality and clog-free printheads. The reasons to use use HP Vivera Inks are compelling: Superior ingredients and unique ink formulations – Unlike many competitive inks derived from generic ‘off-the-shelf’ ink formulations, HP Vivera Inks are specifically designed to be chemically compatible with the
HP cartridges and to flow and eject effectively through the complex, highly tuned components in the printhead. New black and tri-colour Vivera ink formulations also deliver optimal balance of key printing attributes – laser-quality black text, outstanding colour images, permanence and reliability. Exceptional ink purity – Purer inks translate into cleaner printing and therefore ink savings in the long run. HP Vivera Inks combine precise levels of purity for each ingredient with stringent, ‘clean’ manufacturing processes to ensure optimal reliability and performance. Versatile technology, adaptable to a wide variety of applications – HP Vivera Ink technology is adaptable to a variety of applications. Whether it is to print quick-drying or faderesistant photos on HP Photosmart printers; professional-quality photos or colour proofs on HP Designjets; laser-quality text documents or impressive marketing presentations on HP Officejet and Officejet Pro printers – there are specific HP Vivera Inks that can do the job. HP inkjet cartridge technology HP Vivera Inks If you think that the printer alone is responsible for producing sharp text and vivid images that you see on your printouts, think again. Did you know that the inkjet print cartridge is just as important, packing in more innovation than meets the eye?
Not just a container for ink HP inkjet print cartridges are not simply containers of ink but an ingenious union of sophisticated printheads and proprietary inks. What this means is that every original HP inkjet print cartridge has an integrated circuit that intelligently routes precisely timed electronic signals to hundreds of microscopic ink nozzles, creating printouts just the way you want them to be. This is actually harder harder than it sounds sounds as there are hundreds of nozzles in the printhead and each nozzle is only one-third the width of a human hair. More than meets the eye For two millionths of a second, HP inkjet cartridges use a pulse of heat more than seven times as intense as the Sun’s surface to create up to 36,000 tiny superheated vapour bubbles per second. This propels ink drops through the nozzles, accurately positioning them on paper. Working together with HP’s proprietary printer algorithms, the print cartridges print millions of tiny dots – carefully distributing them based on the image data – to produce the most realistic, grain-free image output. As you can see, HP has packed a whole lot of research and thought into a small inkjet print cartridge just so that customers can enjoy high image quality and a fuss-free f uss-free printing experience.
The cartridge ejects up up to 36,000 tiny tiny drops of ink per second. 20 HP inkjet print cartridges HP inkjet print cartridges 21 HP 10 Ink Cartridges Smart ink cartridges deliver clear, sharp results without guesswork. 1.
All All mark marke eting ting pro procedur edure e of pri prime produ produc cts are are
decided by YIA and carried out by the Central Marketing Organization (CMO). 2. As the organization is concerned with a large number of productions activities and the departmental work are done done most mostly ly manu manual ally ly from from plac placem emen entt of orde orders rs to documentation,
which
ultimately
frustrates
the
employees. 3.
The The orga organi niza zati tion on is more more conc concer erne ned d with with large largerr
orders orders
of cartri cartridge dge produ products cts by igno ignorin ring g the small smaller er
orders. 4. The local local customers customers with with business of by-products by-products are sometimes made to wait for days to get their papers cleared by the department. 5.
Most Most of the existi existing ng yards yards suffe suffers rs from from impro imprope perr
stocking space and siding facility often they are not well deve develo lope ped d due due to this this the the mate materi rial al stor stored ed ther there e are are rusted and other defects are caused and later they are disposed disposed of by offering offering some some conces concession sion or or at low rate rate which result in loss. 6.
