FLOOR SKILLS
1.V-SEAT ARM SUPPORT Sit on buttocks, hands placed on the floor at the back. Raise both legs upward to form a “V” with the body. Arms straight and head held up.
2. KNEE SWAN Sit on the right heel, left leg extended in rear; arch back and arms oblique upward.
3. STRADDLE LEAN Legs in wide stride position; bend trunk forward so that the chest touches the floor; hands touch the feet.
4. SUPINE ARCH From a long sitting rest position, lift the trunk to arch back, head bent back.
5. KNEE SCALE Kneel on right knee, place the hands in front on the floor, lift the left leg in rear as high as possible. The trunk arched, head held up.
6. STANDING ARCH BACK Standing feet together or one foot pointed forward, bend trunk backwards to arch position. Arms in any position.
7. MODERATE ARABESQUE Standing on the right foot, lift leg in rear as high as possible. Trunk arched, almost parallel to the floor. Head is held up, arms in any position.
8. BRIDGE STAND From a hook lying position, place palm of hands under the shoulders, fingers pointing towards the body. Lift the trunk to form an arch.
9. LUNGE POSITION Bend one knee, the other leg straight. Weight on both feet. Hands on hips.
10. OVERHEAD REACH From a lying position, bring the legs over the head so that the toes touch the floor overhead. Support the hips with the hands or arms extended at the back.
