NATURAL RESOURCES AND ASSOCIATED ASSOCIATED PROBLEMS PROBLEMS
WHAT IS NATURAL RESOURCES? • Natural resources are materials and components (something that can be used) that can be found within the environment.
CLASSIFICATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES:They are classified on the basis of:1. ORIGIN 2. CHEMICAL 3. AVAILABILITY
On the basis of origin they are classified as:1. Biotic:- Biotic resources are obtained from the biosphere (living and organic material). • For example:- plant, animals, living organisms, etc.
2. Abiotic:- Abiotic resources are those that come from non-living, non-organic material. • For example:- water, land, minerals, etc.
On the basis of classification nthey are classified as:• Minerals Resources:- Natural resources available in the form of minerals are called as mineral resources.
Example:- natural gases, coal, etc. • Energy Resources:- Any materials that provide energy to do wpor is called energy resources.
Example:- solar energy, wind energy, etc.
On the basis of availability they are classified as:• Renewable resources:- Renewable resources are natural resources that can be replenishable in a short period of time.
Example:- tree, water, etc. • Non renewable resources:-resources which are non replenishable or can’t reuse is called as non renewable resources.
Example:- fossil fuels, coal
TYPRS OF NATURAL RESOURCES • Forest Resources • Water Resources • Mineral Resources • Food Resources • Energy Resources • Land Resources
What is forest resources? • Resources associated with wildlife, woods, flora and fauna and which is used by humans to fulfill their needs is known as forest resources. • Example:- food, medicines, woods, etc.
Threats of forest resources:• Deforestation is the major threat to the forest resources. • Desertification is also one threat which leads decrease in rainfall and increase in temperature which cause loss of bio diversity. • Because of these threats Natural disaster is can occur like:- forest fires, land slides, etc.
What is water resources? sources of water that are useful or potentially useful. • Uses of water include agricultural, industrial, household, recreational and environmental activities. • The majority of human uses require fresh water. •
Water resources are
