HAZARD
Falls may be caused by spillage of oil and water and also by poor housekeeping, e.g. trailing airlines or tyres , tubes etc. Misuse or failure of equipment such as jacks and lifting devices can lead to extremely serious injuries and even death •

Keep all floor passages free from obstruction. Clean up spillages immediately Provide hose reel Good housekeeping Good hose management
Use axle props to support raised equipment, never let anyone work beneath an equipment supported only by a jack or jacks Ensure appropriate pins are used in props Ensure all lifting devices are marked with maximum safe working load and that these loads are not exceeded Ensured that a periodic thorough examination of all lifting devices is carried out by competent person regularly and that any defedts are repaired immediately Ensure equipment is fit for purpose
Loosen rim retaining nuts with impact gun making sure to leave all retaining nuts with a minimum of a full nut depth of thread Remove tension from wheel cleats using jacking bolts. Finish removing nuts and cleats from wheel assembly. Remove wheel and tyre assembly in approved sequence Ensure the removed tyre is either laid flat on the floor in an appropriate area or adequately restrained from falling. Always remain aware that cleat attached rims that the wedging

Tyre is inflated with an in-line air gauge that has manual or automatic cut off set below the tyre manufacturer’s design. An air regulator is used. Using tyre cage to secure from rim ring collapsed Use tyre cage to inflate tyre when inflating tyre The pressure (air gauge) is monitor continuously. Check all components are not adversely affected by corrosion Replace badly corroded parts

Bead is broken by driving over tyre/wheel, by jumping on the tyre, or by hammering it eg with slide hammer. •

force of the rim and the cleat may eject the cleat with considerable force once nuts are undone, even with deflated tyres Never weld or apply heat to any rim while the tyre is mounted to it regardless of whatever the tyreis deflated or not. This applies to heating of wheel nut etc as well as direct application of heat to the rim. Application of heat even to an uniflated tyre can cause an explosive atmosphere to develop in the tyre due to the decomposition of the tyre rubber. Do not apply heat Using proper tool ie tyre extractor and tyre trolley to remove tyre from equipment Refrain from using sledge hammer to drive out the tyre
