How are you? I’m very well – incredibly well, in fact! Yesterday was a good day. I was helping my mum in the shop after school when Lucas, who’s a boy from my class, came into the shop. He’s a very confident person and I always feel a bit shy when he speaks to me. But he was really friendly and we chatted for a few minutes. Then he asked for some shampoo, so I gave him a bottle. Then he asked for some toothpaste, so I gave him a tube. Then one by one he asked for nine more household items. Finally he said, ‘Actually, I don’t want to buy anything. Do you want to come to the youth club with me tonight?’ He spoke quite quickly, so I didn’t hear all the words. I asked hi m to repeat them. He went a bit red and he wasn’t looking at me, but he repeated his invitation. I was really happy and said, ‘Yes, please.’ We had a great evening.
